*nods* That's what I'd say... Same thing happens to me occasionally.
Our fair, Pro-Raoul ways are just too revolutionary for this guild. *snrk*

Raoul is not a fop. A fop is a man who is not only wealthy and effeminate, but is also vain and concieted which Raoul is not. The man gave up his money and his title to run away with the girl he loved! That is quite rebellious, why does no one see this?

I think it became a trend of phans to tease poor Raoul and now everyone who gets introduced to PoTO gets the bad habbit of calling him a fop V_V But he doesn't care about his looks half as much as Erik seems to!

I think you hit the nail on the head. I'd just like to know where the 'fop' thing started. Erik is more foppish than Raoul... rolleyes

I mean, granted he has reasons, but... remember the scene where he showed up at the dinner party everyone was all "haha! Opera ghost! here have a drink!" I remember that from somewhere...

Yeah, that's Erik's first appearance in Leroux... The managers' retirement/inagural dinner is going on and Erik just shows up in his fake nose and sits down at the table. No one wants to say anything about how icky he looks for fear that the other group invited him. *snrk* I think one of the ballet girls screams that he's the ghost, and he takes off while all the drunks are looking around to give him a drink. And yeah, while Erik has his reasons for being obsessed with his appearance, it doesn't change the fact that he is obsessed with it. Moreso than Raoul at any rate, especially SK!Erik. Didn't he mention that he never wore a shirt more than once?

Hmmm... I don't seem to recall that detail but you may be right. I thought it was hilarious that Erik just showed up at the party though, but they do go about how he is self conscious about his apperance in other times too. Raoul being called a fop puzzles me actually. People just don't seem to see Erik in the same light because... well he's Erik and everything he does is godly. But Raoul on the other hand is always being abused by phans... poor Raoul!

It's funny I REALLY identify with Raoul. (Of course I identify with Erik and Christine a LOT) but I really associate with him alot. I don't quite know why *hugs Raoul plushie*
Anyways, I just find it amusing. Yes Erik is ugly.. but people deal with ugly people all the time. As Patrick told Spongebob- it makes people feel better about themselves. XD. Aww now I'm just being mean.

Well its really easy to understand why you identify with him. He's a character easy to understand because he isn't this big scary or mysterious character with emotions you can't find in everyday life. You can find someone like that in reality and a lot of times in yourself. He's a hopeless romantic, compassionate, jealous... everything that is human.
