Dahahaha... don't hate me/maim me/etc. D: I'm seriously considering changing Anatoli's serum concept.

Anteaters are cute and all, but it's hard to say what their personality/instincts are outside of 'wander around and bust up s**t in a termite nest.' I still love anteater-'Toli, but I also have a desire to stick with one animal now because I felt the combo felt really excessive and tacked-on to me and I'd rather not contribute to the "random combo serum" thing that seems to be all over the place. I'm worried that he might become really boring to play, if I have to use that much justification for his concept. Sometimes the simplest choices are the best, and I feel that this change will be for the better.

I am seriously considering wanting to go with an American opossum for Anatoli's new serum choice. Possums are common, people are familiar with them, those ******** have personality, not to mention the whole convincingly playing dead thing (Anatoli is a coward, hurrhurr :B). They're a very mixed bag, people think they're either ugly or cute and they can be real bastards and real cowards at the same time... kind of like Anatoli (I have plans for him later down the road, as a descendant of Alphonse he's not ALWAYS going to be stable or nice). Possums also have a reputation for being really filthy/unhygenic and digging through trash -- Anatoli's a geek (albeit a clean freak, so the possum serum choice could be Moreau poking fun at that aspect) and he likes digging through lots of old stuff (which most people might consider trash). It works, in my opinion. There's no thought put into it, no IC millions wasted putting together a random combo serum based on an obscure, dated term for an anteater. It's simple, it works, and that's why I want to change.

Anyway, I'm hoping that I'm making sense with this. biggrin ; And I hope I'm not stepping on another questor's toes, I haven't had time to read up on quest threads recently but last I checked nobody was questing for a possum. :0

I still like Anatoli as an anteater, but after thinking about it, I didn't think that it would really work for this setting.

TL;DR version: As I see it, if the reason for your serum choice is as long as your character profile, then that's probably not a good sign if you have to do that much explaining and justification.
