12: You go down a corridor. It's dark, but you decide to continue. You fall into a 1 foot-deep hole. Ouch!
Tossing the rock in their hands, rubbing a thumb over the smooth surface, Sprite decided to try their luck again with one of the hallways.
It wasn't so bad, for the most part, but the darkness combined with the fact that their glasses were getting a bit dusty and dirty made it hard to see much of anything. Still, they were feeling lucky now, and continuing would possibly lead to--
"SON OF A <******** b***h MOTHER---"
If that didn't get heard by the entire ruins, Sprite would be lucky.
Once again they'd managed to fall into a hole...with their other foot. Although the majority of the pain quickly ebbed, the fact that they'd managed to do this twice caused them to bite their lip, tear up and just sit there for now. Hell, maybe if they waited, this cloud of bad luck they seemed to have would get the heck away!
14: You go down a corridor. Did you just hear something moving behind the wall?
Aben had fallen behind the rest of the group looking at the pretty drawings on the walls. A sudden shifting sound caused him to jump and run after the group, quickly catching up. "Something back there moved! Do you think there's hidden passageways?" he asked, curious about exploring everything but still scared from whatever made the noise.
Suhail merely chuckled. "Persistent, aren't they? Let's take a seat somewhere. I'm sure they'll find a way to catch up with us regardless of where we sit."
---
When they finally arrived and people started to go into the ruins, Suhail took a few steps ahead. "I'm going to go in and make sure no one's up to no good in there. You're welcome to come with me," he said to Anukhet.
...He didn't make it very far before making an impressive faceplant. Grunting, he pulled himself up, only to be eye level with a black Fennekit that sported an ankh on its head. The Fennekit squeaked and nosed Suhail, making him chuckle. "Well, hello there," he said as he finished standing up.

Finally tearing his attention away from the mural. Horus began sort of aimlessly wandering around. Maybe deciding not to attach himself to someone wasn't the right idea. It was rather quiet and uneventful in the long run. Sure the mural had been pretty but there hadn't really been any one to discuss it with. Unfortunately however his directionaless waking was about to hit him in the butt.
Looking away from the wall paintings he realized that while this corridor didn't end in ropes it was in fact a dead end. Horus just kind of sighed and sat down leaning against the wall. He'd start back the way he came in a moment.

Anu tried her best to not laugh at Su's faceplant as she got off and, with Saiya as her second shadow, followed after the other students. Her intention was to keep an eye on them; instead... she became distracted by all the fancy corridors and (refusing to admit it) got a little bit lost. Then something caught her eye on one of the walls. What's this..? Squinting in the gloom, she went to peer closer at what she thought looked like a hole in the wall. NOPE. Big ol' spider chillin' there, and she got up close and personal with it. With a shriek, she turned and sped out of there, Saiya loping along and doing their best to keep pace.

And 1 point to the familiar who tripped Su lol. Saiya approves. xD
Aurora was still glomped by the hybrid and ignored another trinket laying on the ground. She was having a weird day, she needed to get things back on track though she didn't really know how at the moment. Wet and a bit grumpy. Aurora stood there being held by the Hybrid who was afraid of the bug. That part Aurora wasn't mad about. The water and the bad luck was a bit annoying though. She took a deep breath waiting for a chance to try again, she figured it would come soon. She looked around trying to figure things out maybe she needed to try one of the tricks she had in the forest.
Coco nodded and said "Sure why not, I'm sure these ruins are old and mysterious, so there could be tunnels and hidden things we can't see." She said cheerfully. She then turned and started to follow a trail. She didn't know where it would lead but Coco was having a lot of fun. She followed the trail till she came to a blue vespercat, it was so lovely. She picked it up and went to show her freshling friends. Coco and nodded "Yes that's fine with me you two have fun and stay away from the roped-off areas." Coco said.
Aedus was interested in what the doctor had to say he was wondering what the hidden spaces were like, which was likely why he ended up near one of the roped-off areas he wondered what he would find if he just went a little farther. He couldn't though because he would be breaking the rules and he didn't want to get sent back to the cabin and miss part of the trip. Miss the chance to meet familiars he had never met before. So he turned around looking for Nimah. He didn't see Nimah though she should be around here somewhere though.
Why was this his life, Enomu wondered when Kanda startled and almost pulled his shorts down when she grabbed them in her surprise. Here he was, surrounded by three other people and he hadn't asked for any of this! His counselor had to be laughing their head off from having convinced Enomu to go on this trip. Enrichment his left ear. This was pure torture, and now he had to tromp around some ruins while also keeping track of--well at least two of the others were around the same age as him, so it was only Kanda he really had to worry about. Also, he'd need a belt so she didn't actually yank his shorts off.
"So we're pretending to excavate this place." He muttered after Kanda let go. He was smart enough to guess they weren't going to be touching real relics. The naga wouldn't like that, for one thing. He sighed and just resigned himself to tolerating the expedition, as he'd been doing. Complaining wasn't going to change anything, so it made sense to just go along with the ordeal. His ears swiveled when he thought he heard something, and then looked over when a 'miao' greeted him. The handsome vespercat walked right up to Enomu and rubbed against his legs. Maybe this was a good omen! Enomu leaned down to pick the cat up, and was rewarded by loud purring and a vespercat snuggling into his arms. Well, he hadn't planned on adopting a familiar on this trip, but there was no collar to indicate ownership, so he supposed this familiar was his now. It certainly improved his mood.

Glad to have had companions to travel with into the next phase of the trip, Iron was ever vigilant to the next set of instructions given for the ruins exploration. He helped like the other chaperones to make sure the little ones were all sorted with their canteens, as well as having everything necessary in their packs for the visit.
When they finally made it to the ruins themselves, Iron was careful about where he stepped, almost nervous he may interrupt something sacred. But their tour guide seemed confident in the safety and wiggle room of the place. Safest, huh? The prospect of being able to bring something from the ruins instantly piqued Iron's interest. Something for Ama.... Straightening a little, he looked to his two companions, smiling politely, "I wonder what we'll be able to find."

3: A wall carving catches your eye. It looks like these are carvings of many beetles.
When Aj came over Contessa turned to him the broken pieces in her hands. "We can't fix it, no one can..." She looked off into the distance studying the beetles on the walls. Hopefully, they weren't real. " He gave this to me ya know? When he found out that I couldn't feel happy, or sad. He said that I could watch others, I could live... oh what's the word he said... vicariously through it. Now, what am I going to do? He's gone, it's broken and I'll never be the same." She looked down at the ground and the vesperkat he dropped. "Oh that looks like the one that tripped me." she motioned to the Kat rubbing up on her legs. "It doesn't even know what it did." she took a deep sigh. " Do you want to start a little trouble?" That seemed to be what AJ and Tessa did whenever one of them was down. Like the day they met, AJ was so mad at his mom he had run away. So they stole candy from children and laughed in the faces of scolding mothers. She dropped the peices of the broken camera and slid her hand in AJ's "Lets go look at these beetles" she scooped up the vesperkat in the other arm.
K Sue notice Aben running up a passage way and wonders how many place or passageways there are here. " We could go explore or we could split up if you want. I liked to see how many passageways there are and see all the art work I can personally. " she says to her roomies. "Maybe, if we split up, we can meet back up in an hour or so? " she asks in the hope that she isn't offending them in anyway. Some time she just like to explore and who knows maybe there was some other Nm/Dms out there to meet. This thought made her smile because she was really likening her new friends and wanted to make more. As K Sue is talking to Coco and Aben a cool wet feeling on her ankle make her look down to see what it is. To K Sues wonderful surprise a coatl is sniffing her ankle with it tong. "Well hello pretty girl. Would you like to come with me too." Bending down she offers her arm to the coatl to climb up and go with her.

Odessa pulled herself up out of the hole and made sure her leg wasn't too badly injured. However, as she started to walk she noticed that there was a slight pain, had she sprained it? She tested her foot a couple times before noting that it probably wasn't broken, it just stung a little. She sighed to herself, worrying more about Lazarus scolding her for being so careless. It didn't stop her from wanting to explore more, however, so she continued on her way. It wasn't long before she noticed a rope sectioning off the corridor. There was a part of her that wanted to go forward, but in the end, she decided against it. No matter how curious she really was, she still had a hard time disobeying orders.

Kiessi was still studying the small rock, twisting and turning it to see how the colors moved. When they were finally satisfied, they pocketed it and continued to move. They saw a few people move through the corridor ahead of them but they were too lost in their own thoughts. They continued forward, looking at all the walls in curiosity. That was when they saw something shining and they went forward to pick it up. Another stone? However, they were completely surprised when the thing got up and flew away! Kiessi was a bit surprised that a beetle could be that stunningly colored.

Cass had put the stone away in a pocket, hoping it wouldn't fall out before he got back to the rest of the group. He wasn't entirely sure why the doctor thought that letting children run around without a partner or chaperone was a good idea, but what was he going to do about it? He shook his head, maybe he was being too responsible, even if he was used to playing parent to his sister.
He turned down another corridor when he saw something colorful, as he leaned forward, he noticed that it started moving along the walls! A bug? It was awfully big and shiny. He wondered if there were more colorful bugs like that one here.
