Falias, Knight of Earth
Location: Outside with Venice & Scholomance

The growing number of puddles had been hard to miss, because it was getting increasingly harder to avoid them.

Falias jumped over a nearby puddle and then found himself almost landing in another.

He stumbled backwards from it and decided that he was with
Venice in that he really wasn't liking this...

But the big tree that they were heading to also lay that way - which meant like it or not that he would have to continue running the oozy puddle gauntlet.

Although perhaps puddle was the wrong word for it because if Falias didn't know better then he'd think that they were getting larger.

And then it became impossible to deny that the 'puddles' were getting larger, because they were flowing together to form a festering black mass of black goop that very much felt almost..

Almost malevolent.

And it wasn't helped by the fact that the former puddle - or at least part of it - was oozing towards him and changing shape as it did so into something that was definitely humanoid.

Falias took a half step backwards, trying hard not to think about how similar the thing looked because it made him because it was making him draw unfortunate comparisons with the time when Destiny City had been overrun by murderous clones.

The humanoid shape surged forward, surprisingly fast and swung a club-like arm in his direction.

Falias managed to catch the blow on a bracer with a grunted hiss before managing to shove out awkwardly with his other arm.

He could hear
Scholomance speaking as he summoned his own weapon to his hand and chanced a glance at the other Knight "I think we're probably going to have to fight those things" he said "Especially if we want to continue heading forwards."

Sailor Aue - On Ida and not Pleased With This Shite

Pasi felt it - a vague sense of distress, a pull that encouraged him to drop what he was doing and answer it - sort of like when Caedus had summoned them, only less direct. But he held off as he was in the middle of recording for his channel and didn't feel like screwing up his schedule - after all, he still had to edit and post the footage to his account as soon as he was done playing the stupid game.

Which he managed, though it were something of a rush job because that niggling feeling? It got worse until it was all the Finn could do to summon his stupid transformation pen and use it. Blood pounded in his ears, drowning out the sounds of his apartment, of Destiny City, and then he was Aue and that feeling sucked him....somewhere else.

It was beautiful - for a few seconds before he realized that what he was seeing wasn't real. The reality was a ******** wasteland of black goop and thrashing bodies.

Reality was a heavy object coming down on his head from behind, the heightened senses he gained from powering up just barely saving him from having his skull caved in, though it sent him reeling into another weird gimp-suit looking monster that had a blade for an arm. A blade that tore through the material of his costume and across his chest, blood staining the white fabric as he stumbled past, kicking weakly at the bladed one - lucky for him, Blunt Object Gimp Monster didn't seem interested in pursuit. One on one, okay. He could handle that.

Maybe.

If his vision would stop swimming, maybe. This s**t right here is why I don't answer...Nothing good comes of powering up...

Eternal Aegir - Tower; Lobby --> going up stairs

Like some others, Aegir showed up late to the 'party' on Ida - only he was late not because he hadn't wanted to come immediately, but rather because he'd been in the middle of practice and after being off for so long he could not just skip out. Worry and the wont to transform and answer the distress signal ate at the curly haired danseur, but he pushed it aside until he finished what he had to do. Only then did he allow himself to go racing from DCBC and into an alley where he could transform into Eternal Sailor Aegir and answer the call.

He found himself inside a very...interesting building, with smooth lines and flowers growing from the very walls; he could hear the sounds of muted battle around him, coming from both outside and above. I guess up is where I should go... The fine hairs at the nape of his neck stood on end and he spun around just in time to see something kind of gooey and black surging at him. "Oh, ew!" It was shaping itself into a rough approximation of humanity..only with arms that transformed into weapons that it used immediately to go after the curly haired senshi. "Whoah!"

Well now, wasn't that just typical? Attacked without warning, the moment he appeared to help. I'll have to have a talk with this planet's Senshi...honestly, the hospitality is a bit lacking. "Sorry, but I don't want to dance with you right now! Aegir dodged a few wild swings from the monster before charging at it and slamming it into an already damaged bit of furniture, causing the smooth lines to break and leaving what had once been the arm of a chair jagged and just perfect to skewer a monster on. He dug his heels in and pushed, piercing the creature with the once lovely furniture and holding it there until he felt it would have a hard time coming back after him while looking for stairs or a ladder or something to help him go further up and in.. "So, uh, why don't you just hang out here? No, don't bother getting up, I'll show myself around..."

The cheeky, grinning senshi jogged past the monster, barely noticing the way it seemed to slide away from it's skewer and reach for him until it had almost caught him again. "Oh no you don't--" Thankfully, he was faster than the now-wounded monster and a short burst of speed gave him a nice lead, keeping up a respectable pace allowed him to keep several paces - steps, really - ahead of the beast as he made his way onward and upward; that sense of urgency from the call pulsing brighter and sharper, the energy signature familiar and yet not, like the ghost of something - or someone - he ought to know. One thing was for certain, this place - wherever it was - was absolutely where he needed to be.

Lieutenant Idrialite - Second floor hallway

Idrialite frowned darkly. This was not how he'd pictured his first interaction with the opposing side, were he being totally honest, though he'd tried to avoid thinking about it since most versions probably ended with him getting punched in the face. If the Negaverse produced creatures like Cinnabar, he was sure it earned plenty of enmity from those it declared its enemies, and he was not eager to see that turned on him.

So far, though, the -- the tiny girl who happened to be glowing, what in the actual ********>, was not making any move to attack him or the Captain. That was...encouraging, in a way. Neither, so far, was the other -- Knight, it had to be, they didn't look like anything that fit how Sailor Soldiers had been described to him.

He nodded as his confirmation of Quartz's statement, because God knew he had no idea what was going on. That brief was looking better and better, all things considered.

The strange goop began to take shape, into several very nasty-looking monsters, all sort of vaguely shaped like the people there.

Idrialite decided that the brief could write itself, because he was going to be spending the evening getting very friendly with some very expensive scotch and maybe the gorgeous clerk from his favorite rare book shop. He was going to need that, after this.

He brought up his weapon, glad for the back-to-back defense. It would give them the best chance of getting out of this, even if the two Knights decided they weren't worth helping. It seemed all too possible that all he and the Captain would have to rely on was each other, since the two Order fighters could very well decide to simply let the monsters eliminate two enemies and then finish them while they're weakened.

"I'm beginning to hate the entire concept of magic," the Lieutenant commented idly, bringing up the toy musket to block a swung claw and then turning it to drive into the monster's torso area. He was more experienced with hand-to-hand than weapon combat, but in this case it was probably for the best that he listen to his superior's advice and not touch the strange tar monster.

"Is this not normal, then?" Everyone seemed to be reacting with a level of alarm, except the Captain, who was exuding a level of Done that deeply appealed to Idrialite, were he being honest. "It would be nice to have a baseline, for the future."

Eternal Chaldene: With Tomlin and Oort.

He'd been glad that Tomlin had noticed his double and had reacted as he had, as he hadn't had the time to call out the incoming attack. As he got hit, again, the dark haired eternal took note of Tomlin getting picked up by Oort as well as the two rubber like copies.

"Let me know if you need me to provide a distraction and I can." he would use every bit of magic he had if he needed to, in order to keep the other two from getting hurt. His magic, unfortunately, wasn't offensive but rather provided a distraction so was more defensive than anything. This was, right now, one of the few times he wished his magic could do damage and hurt.

The second hit he'd taken hadn't been to the face, thankfully, though his shoulder was not exactly feeling great and was sure to be bruised by the time he got home from this mess. All he had to do though was help and get through this, to make sure the other two were safe also. If he had better magic, different magic, he'd be happier right now as he felt it would help him cut through his double quicker so he could handle the black cat version of Tomlin.

"Oort, after we're done with our doubles we take out out the Tomlin one."

Seeing the more experienced senshi grow more and more worried was not a good sign. If she was anxious about what was going on, how the ******** was she supposed to feel about it? Maia’s low-key panic had her on edge and she kept close to the other senshi as they hot-footed it down the hall.

She was careful to keep her boots out of the growing puddles of ooze, but her distraction meant she didn’t see the monsters rearing up before them until Maia suddenly stopped and forced her to as well. Eros looked up and her eyes widened, seeing two humanoid shapes before them.

“They ******** are those?” She squeaked before the lunged at the pair of them, one going for Maia and one for her. She threw herself to the side, missing the club that was intent on splattering her brains all over the wall, but such a wild move had her landing hard on her wrist and she cried out in pain as it twisted. Rolling frantically, Eros got a kick in on the thing’s shins before she got out of it’s way. Her face was a grimace as she shoved herself to her feet, her wrist held close to her stomach.

“What the ******** do we do now?” She called.

Sailor Skoll - Outside the Tower, her arm in a goo monster

Several other people around her too were fighting monsters. Some were tag teaming the beasts to devastating effect. Skoll was a bit too proud and a bit too... what was the word, cocky? Cocky was the word - to ask for help.

Even when she slammed her fist into the beast.

And by into, she meant she snapped a punch out at what she figured was a shoulder or arm, and had her entire arm up to her elbow swallowed into the oozy beast. She'd fought a lot of things over her life so far, but this took the cake of all of them.

The gross level shot as it squelched around her fingers.

Ugh.

Maia jumped to her feet moving over to Eros. The monsters looked like them for the most part and their double had gone after just the one for each. "Try to stay close to me. If I can use my magic, it may slow them down. They might not be youma, but they seemed to be alive, so hopefully it will work. If you get hit though it will slow you down as well."

It was weird to suddenly feel energized, a warm inviting feeling welling up, but it certainly helped to calm her a bit, as much as someone amidst an adrenaline rush could be.

She looked to Eros for confirmation, hoping the other would be able to keep up with her movements. She wasn't sure how fast the things could move, but she need to get a little space at least between her and them. "Too close," she practically hissed, pivoting on her heel to throw a kick at the closest monster. She didnt care which, she just need a little time and space.

The kick landed and she had to suppress a shudder at the feeling, but it was a solid enough kick. Not unbalancing the creature, but it did someone and Maia back up quickly and wasted no time calling forth her magic.

"Absolute Harmony!"

♪ Attack #1a: Absolute Harmony

Its a series of rather soft sweet notes, that Maia sings. When she makes her attack, she turns to face the target and as she sings, translucent rainbow colored notes fly toward the target and start float and circle him/her. The notes are fast in their approach. It causes the opponent to calm down. It causes the opponent to feel the thought slipping away, they feel less able to concentrate at the task at hand. Heart rate is slower and they will feel sluggish as with Sweet Harmony. The effects of the attack last for 3 minutes after Maia's note ends. This is tiring for Maia and can only be used 3 times in battle.

1.) Absolute Harmony!
2.) Sailor Maia begins to sing.
3.) Musical notes appear as she sings.
4.) Musical notes fly over to her target and encircle them. (She must be facing them)
5.) Target feels very calm and very sluggish.
Attack lasts for about 3 minutes.
*Can only be used three time in battle.

Tomlin, Guardian Cat - Outside

Tomlin winced as his young friend took a hit. It hadn’t been his intention to draw his attention from the enemy like that, and it looked like the tar-doubles weren’t pulling punches.

He tried not to tense up as he was lifted for the second time today – he had asked for this, after all. The Mauvian shifted in Chibi Oort’s arms, twisting until he was sitting upright. He pressed white-dipped paws against the boy’s chest, over his starseed, a slight frown forming on his face.

Ears twitched slightly in Chaldene’s direction at his suggestion. “A distraction would be useful. Just need a minute…”

His own voice was distant, focused somewhere else, far from grass and trees. He’d never done this before, but instinct was a wonderful thing. There it was, the strength he’s been sensing in the young senshi, the readiness. He could feel it. It was just under the surface, not yet reflecting in his aura. That needed to change.

The cat concentrated, feeling the warm glow that was intrinsic to Sailor Oort’s being, bolstering it so that the extra strength inside could shine through.

After a long moment, he felt the job was done, and tilted his head back to look up at Oort.

“Got your henshin pen? Need you to say something for me.”

He wriggled free of the gentle arms, landing on the ground again to give him space.

“Say ‘Oort Asteroid Power, Make-Up!’”

Chibi Super Sailor Oort
Location: Outside with Chaldene and Tomlin

Oort had heard Chaldene speaking and had nodded absently in the older senshi's direction, although his attention - and by that same token his focus - was largely on Tomlin.

His reddish eyes had looked puzzled as he glanced down at the ginger star cat in his arms, although it didn't stop him from continuing to carefully hold Tomlin.

And then he felt it - a sensation of warmth that washed over him before fading.

A part of him could dimly feel it as Tomlin gently wriggled free from his arms and whilst Oort wasn't sure why he needed to get his henshin pen out it didn't stop him from doing so because he trusted Tomlin.

"Oort Asteroid Power, Make-Up!" The phrase was slightly different to the ones he was used to but the words felt right on his tongue...

And then he was powering up again, even as the henshin pen shifted in his hand and changed even as he was changing.

The senshi left behind after the henshin was the same but different, his aura blazing just that much warmer - just that much stronger.

Because it was no longer Chibi Sailor Oort that stood facing the tar-lke clones with Chaldine and and Tomlin, but rather Chibi Super Sailor Oort.

Eternal Sailor Athene & Mauvian Liryn
Location: Inside a room on the Second Floor with Elvira

It was Liryn who noticed the 'amber-like' substance first, although perhaps caller it amber was something of a misnomer as the strange substance started to ooze out of the wall of the room.

"Athene,
Elvira - I think we should probably make a move out of the room" he said as he continued to stare at the wall, because whilst he couldn't be sure it seemed to him like the ooze was coming down pretty fast.

======================

Athene started to look over in Liryn's direction, but paused as he caught sight of the wall oozing ooze...

No correction make that the walls oozing ooze.

It ran down the wall in waves that looked more than a little creepy as it puddled in the corner and started to spread out along the floor..

And it seemed that whilst they were standing together that a whole lot had puddled in what looked to perhaps be the doorway as the ooze moved towards them in a viscous, sticky-looking mass.

"I don't think that..." Athene started only for his voice to trail off as the ooze merged together and started to shift together into 3 masses - two of which looked distinctively humanoid.

======================

Liryn didn't need to be told that the ooze-zoid 'blobs' were trouble as they continued to form, instead gently wriggling until he could slip out of Elivira's arms, paws landing gently on the ground.

A jade green light glowed around him as he shifted into the other form, the stars on the end of his top jangling as paws shifted to hands and to feet.

The ooze had finished shifting by the time that he had finished transforming - three humanoid figures drawing towards them - one of which insulting bore feline-like ears.

Liryn swiped at the thing with his claws even as he saw Athene try to hit another of the figures.

Eternal Chaldene: With Tomlin and Chibi Oort.

"Need that distraction Tomlin?" The eternal called over, even as he felt the shift in power - the added power. What that rubber thing,t he double of Oort, going to gain in power? He really hoped not, though it would certainly be interesting if it could.

"I hope that thing doesn't power up also." They did not need that, if it stayed powered down to Oort's previous level they'd be a bit better off. Taking another swing at his double, aiming for a stomach hit he took a hit to his own shoulder - again. Grunting and stumbled back a step. The thing could hit, and with that silicon like body it was solid and hurt.

"Congratulations Oort." The younger certainly deserved it, it wasn't every day you powered up. And right now...it might just come in handy.

"Let me know when you want that distraction Tomlin." He'd had to fall back a bit from his own double so he could cast it. But he'd take care of distracting things.

Hvergelmir Knight of the Cosmos - 4th Floor

Ida wasn't answering. Hvergelmir kept her attention mostly focused on the monster in front of her, but this was difficult, with her fears mounting every second. Would she look around a corner and find Ida slumped on the stairs, bleeding along the ground? Would she find her encased in black amber, suffocated to death? Would she find her at all?!

The monster swung outward, and Hvergelmir didn't quite dodge quickly enough -- one of its claws caught her across the face, leaving a small but clean line of blood across her cheek. Without enough leverage at close range for a proper strike, Hvergelmir settled for leveraging her distaff to shove the monster backwards, once again buying herself a moment of space.

She used the opportunity to bring her distaff up to her shoulder and reel out a line of thread in her hand, spindle whirling into a smooth spin.

There was a familiar smell of ozone, a tell-tale loud crack. Then the monster had to fall back further still as the room filled with searing white light.

[[Monster Current HP: 41]]

Quote:
Spell - Hvergelmir spins out thread from her distaff onto her spindle; light sparks up from the thread of her weapon and begins to cover her, illuminating her like a small, bright star, capable of projecting a single, bright beacon of light into the air. This is useful as a defense mechanism -- looking directly at her becomes nearly impossible, and can cause temporary blindness if you try to keep doing it for more than a few moments -- and at this stage, the light is focused and powerful enough to shine a beacon high into the air that serves as a useful distress signal to nearby/non-powered-up allies. The effect lasts for up to 45 seconds total per battle, or as long as Hvergelmir can maintain focus, keep spinning her thread, and channel her magic. The easiest way stop the spell is to disrupt Hvergelmir from spinning her thread.
