jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || nominating algernon He does not know what to say to Adoelle but he smiles at her. To tell her that Algie will do what it takes to see what she wants done but there is a moment of unease, of doubt, because in the end he is still breaking his promise. This time knowingly.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || nominating algernon Jeremiah speaks quietly with the Sinister Survivor about just why it should be Algie who is part of the council. Not that he thinks he really has made an impact, not with the way that it seems as if he is laughing (without ever hearing him) at him when he turns to go.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || nominating algernon This time it is the Eldritch Gentleman he speaks with. Not that he can say for sure that he makes his point. Not when he still has concerns about just who it is behind that mask.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || nominating algernon It's hard to speak with her but he smiles. It is a smile that is far more true than some of the others he has given this evening. Jeremiah keeps a respectful distance even if he wants to come closer, wants to ask just who she is to him, to Alg, but instead he speaks about Algie. The man who is his voice of reason when he has lost his own.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || nominating algernon Father. Was he really? In some other place? In some other time? Was he a son just as those that were taken? Had he, at some point, been part of this? Jeremiah does not know but he does speak very highly of Algie. He's always had more common sense than Jeremiah.

algernon mercer || 25/25 || i volunteer as tribute Algernon wasn't the type to vote for himself unless there was good reason or it had become expected of him. He had a problem fighting the power when it seemed like there was an expectation on his shoulders and his friends and neighbors issuing their confidence to him had been reason enough. Sunny's deal rang in his head. When the time came, take responsibility. He still didn't know if this was what she meant, but with others giving him their confidence he couldn't exactly back down. It was with the same proper manners and grace he'd presented the entire ball that he offered himself as the representative. He still managed humility, as Alg wasn't at all a prideful person, and offered his time, calm manner, and experience with matters of other ashdown, as well as some of the people in it's court, as a basis for his choosing.

Cam Rylan | 25/25 | lateArriving a little late seemed to be his theme all night. But Rylan made his way to the silver hall after his talk with Vivien. He'd missed the discussion prior to the nominations, but he'd seen Algernon before, had heard whispers of his wits under pressure. Rylan was alright with that. He made his rounds with each member of the council. The red mask. It had to be. And when he was done, he found the man whose name everyone had put forth as the seventh selector. "Hey," he said quietly, not wanting to draw the attention of the crowd. And then he pressed a torn-off corner of paper into Algernon's hand on which he'd scrawled: Red mask - Liam Noor. He and his husband are why there is no more - said Vivien. And hoped Alg would be careful.

algernon mercer || 25/25 || o why ty "Hullo," Alg responded, polite and soft but slightly puzzled as paper was pressed into his palm, "Having a good time?" It took him a moment, turning towards his husband for the body shield as he faked a slight cough to glance at what was written there. Rylan was given an acknowledging glance, a thank you in his head tilt, and the paper was also passed to Jeremiah as he held his husband's hand.

As Lady and her double filter into the room, Melany steps forward and raises her arms. The crowd in the galleries above goes silent; all attention is on her. " Friends, the night grows long in the tooth; the council selection will be soon. If there are any concerns you have, please speak to us here. Otherwise, please proceed to the galleria, where servants will tend to you." Council nominations will end on Wednesday night at 17:30 PDT View the current score here

Zac Bantock: 25/25 - Late maybe but - nominating Algernon if he still can. - then seeing Alois He had nominated his Father's husband in the other hall, and that was a choice he'd stand by. That said though he was stilled for a moment to see the familiar faces and their masked doubles. He stood for a moment, lost as to who he might approach first but after a few hesitating steps he decided to see if he'd be allowed to go over and talk to Alois, and Ezra he supposed, by default. "S...sorry are we allowed to talk to you guys before...things?"

Chester Poole: 25/25, nominating Alg Even though his initial attempt to sway the Spinel Lady had been met with indifference, Chester kept up his BBC charade, finding it far easier to be stuffy and proper than to worry about space worms and talking woodland creatures. He exited the plum parlor once decisions were made, though he had made his own early on. Algernon was the only person he could pick, partially because he was one of the few here who Chester actually knew, but mostly because he appeared to have a grasp of this place and wasn't inherently creepy. There had been a time when Detective Mercer would have been his first choice, but now the man's eyes were glowing, and it was more disconcerting than comforting. He recalled the person to whom he'd relayed information about this very party just months ago, and couldn't help wondering if his own days of day-glo skin and horns weren't far off.
Chester circled the room, bowing and scraping and trying to be sincere in his pleas. Mister Mercer for Human Representative. Some members of his audience seemed more convinced than others.iloveyouDIE front page say i quote you and i always do what front page say damn

[25/25 | EVE]: nominating Algernon
"I think you would be most pleased with Algernon's counsel," said Eve to the group succinctly, with a small bow. No need to make a monologue out of it.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || confirmation Jeremiah inclined his head towards Rylan in greeting before his husband was moving as he was. The taller man palmed the piece of paper as it was handed to him and spun Alg a moment, pulling him back off to the dance floor for one last dance and a chance to look at the paper before moving on. "I wasn't sure," he said quietly to Algie, "if it was who I thought it was but-" This certainly was not the place to talk about it. Except that there was every chance that Liam Noor was The Enemy but if that was the case how was he free? There were, as always, more questions than answers. It was probably time to really have a sit down with Rylan considering it seemed as if the young man had found himself even more involved than just Blackfriars.

connor hill - 25/25 - schmoozing after boozing With a decision made, Connor stepped into the hall knowing exactly what he was going to do. Whether or not he put any actual effort into promoting his choice remained to be seen. The only reason he was going against the majority was because he was choosing to be difficult, or maybe he just didn't want to conform to the wishes of a bunch of people he hardly, if at all, knew. And since he most definitely wasn't going to suggest himself, and someone he actually knew well enough to consider him a decent human being (assuming he was human, of course) had thrown his name forward...well, logic dictated that be who he backed, in this occasion. Approaching those already on the council, there were some that Connor actually made an effort with. Well no, that was a lie. He only really talked to the Sinister Survivor and the Eldritch Gentlemen, because for whatever reason, he thought they were pretty okay...for a couple of weirdos, at least. The other four got the briefest of summaries as to why Connor thought that Chris would be a good choice. When he was finished, he wandered off to find a good place to stand and watch the "show".
