Company:: Count Dixon, Lady Youkimi and Queen Ophelia Outfit:: Cloak & DaggerFeeling:: Slightly relaxed Condition:: Healthy Location:: Meeting Stone Currency:: 5000¢ EC Items:: DyrnwynOOC:: *pout* Prince Roland Leoharz Bellris Were it possible. Youkimi's words were comforting and the fact she would open her home to him were it possible gave Roland a small smile. Her friendship was true and her person very giving. She was a rare kind indeed, but Ethe seemed to be lucky in this find and Roland was beginning to see something worth while against the winged ones of light which looked down upon Bellrisian black wings. Their queen was equal in kindness and had shown this already but already Roland wished he could have gotten to known Ophelia more for one never knows what the future holds; But this prince sees that maybe he'll be needing more of the foreigners that share this entire world they all call Epsilon. Acting is reacting. For an act to be believable there has to be a silver line of truth muddied up against the mix to bind it all together. But no, this wasn't a simple line in this case. An armor of heated silver for a country in disarray; Dixon's rage wasn't just his own but that of a nation in morning and the fact they morn was what made his rage that much more real. "For what it is worth, I am sorry." Roland says with stiffness but genuine remorse, for failing in this matter was much like failing in the matter with Youkimi. The facts of what has been happening in his republic made what Dixon said ring true. Or at least that hard crimson stare said so as it burn to the far off horizon and Roland's grim face was a mixture of so many emotions. His sister wasn't always like this. There was a time she and he were children and the world was pastel painted while Hysteria taught Roland the beauty of nature's food chain; A rodent devoured by a small snake only to be snatched into the talons of a raven which flew on vivid wings. "What I plan to do...is to repair my republic." A few tears burn in the prince's eyes as he stare hard to grasslands that stretch forth towards to the Thousand River Delta; His by birth and his responsibility by curse. He would not dare show his face as he thought of the many memories of he and Hysteria horseback riding with their now buried sister Theodora, because duty and honor dictated it to be so...but the pain was still there hidden under a young man's tough exterior that masked it as best as he could. "Hysteria and her so called council are flawed. They operate by her word and they use this so called change of government as a means to separate from the empire while giving Hysteria absolute power. I was only a figurehead, a face for my sister's propaganda which made people feel more secure that their voices would be heard within this new government. That's why I plan on sizing power by killing Hysteria before she finds a reason to kill me." The prince, with eyes dry from resolve, turns to Dixon and speaks firmly and surly so his tone gets across to his possibly ally. "For trying to add Youkimi to our council she already accused me of possibly treason, so for her to invent a reason to kill me wouldn't be too hard for her. This is why I am in need of you. I need men other than Bellrisians to fight this fight. I know many in government will stay the course and protect the queen but if I use what I have learned aiding the Drosselmeyer's into power and the men who will fight for my cause then I know this shadow war will be successful. So Dixon, will you lend me aid in sizing power of Bellris and helping me to repair my home?"

▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ Ophelia Estelle Quatrez Queen of Ethe❛It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is.
Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.❜▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇○I'm feeling anxious. ●I'm speaking to Dixon, Youkimi and Roland at the moment. ○I'm currently wearing something formal, minus the wings, of course. ●I have 700EC on me. ○I currently have feelings for no one.▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇Her eyebrows furrowed, mismatched pair of eyes showing what seems to be concern for this young royalty. To rule over a kingdom often requires a strong mind, yet such an aspect does not necessary mean well. The minds of rulers were often a dark place, and there was no right or wrong, no good or evil. They are simply thoughts and actions, made to prosper their kingdom, to stay on top. Ophelia was lacking in those aspect. It was her kindness which had held her back. Should it be back during the war, Ophelia would not have lasted a month being a ruler. It was all too.. heavy a burden. It still is, and if she could choose, she wouldn't choose to be queen. The fog remains." Ophelia turned her head, and her expression would appear to be quite.. saddened. "The lands of Ethe may not be the best place for other blood lines to reside however.." would it be possible? Would it be.. selfish of her to do so? "There might be a person you could go to.." Ophelia answered carefully, unsure if it would be the right decision. Freed has been indebted to her for a long while, and had once mentioned, should she need any help, his door will always be open. Was she obligated to help Roland? No. Not a single bit. She could so casually turn a blind eye and walk away, however, she couldn't. She wasn't cruel enough to do so. Perhaps the queen was simply.. too kind. Perhaps that would lead to her downfall one day. "The duke of Norcross resides in Lionis. I believe he'll allow you to stay, if I were to write him a letter." Freed usually laid low, knowing full-well his health wouldn't be able to counter the unnecessary attention, should he attract any. "I believe that is the most I can do for you."She wouldn't order her soldiers to aid Roland in his battle, no. The kingdom couldn't afford such burden, not when the people were barely holding on. "Your highness, shall we fly ahead?" Ophelia shook her head while her hand clutched her belly. "I'm afraid I cannot turn into a phoenix. Not when I carry.. children within my womb." it was something she realized when she was first pregnant with Cheza, and often times wonder if it was the same with anyone else. Instead, she turned to the guard that had accompanied her, and she'd place a hand upon his shoulder. "I believe I'll have to depend on you once more to return, and for that I deeply apologize--" truth be told, she never wanted to burden anyone with the task of flying her, despite how small a matter it may be. Ophelia never liked feeling indebted to another, though it seems, this time, she'd have to compromise. ▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇Out.Of.Crocodiles: Super sorry for slow posts! Life has been getting to me gonk

Civil war! ... I thought he might've been after something like this. A coup... That's just perfect!
"Surely you can't be serious!" Dixon rose quickly; so quickly, in fact, that you'd hardly know he was sitting in the first place. "That's... Well, that's bloody insane is what it is!" Dixon knocked his hair back, exhaling deeply; slowly he came to smirk, then to chuckle.
"Oy, I knew you were a bit crazed when we first met, but this is a new level, eh? It's..." Dixon's smile faded, absorbed by Roland's steely resolve. His head lowered a degree, the fire in his dark eyes returning like the threat of winter.
"... Good to see a man with conviction these days." He lifted a hand to his chin. "But it won't be easy. I've seen the way these so-called nobles flock to the idea of a republic." His face recalled a pain similar to a series of burns: the lives of firemen, and stories bridging the night and morning skies.
"Not just in your country either, I'm afraid," he continued. "The peerage of Lady Quartrez has seen this republic--it stained their eyes, rather, so now all they see is... Well..." His hand fluttered dismissively.
"--They entrust a decrepit mayor to the most royal of lands! The queen herself, as you saw, will not stand up for her own title but instead will apologise for her people when they have had warful acts thrown upon them. Aye... I was quite welcoming to the truth that you were not behind that death." His aura was beginning to heat up again. He took a breath. The heat seemed to lessen.
"Still, it is fairly clear that someone from Bellris has orchestrated the attacks on Ethe. It seems to me war is knocking on our door no matter what--and it may be against the same side of Bellris." This was the first time in his life he had felt this level of... Ambition; he began to draw with a stick in the dirt as he went on in his determined way.
"But... I will make sure that no one else needs to be involved--they don't want to do what's necessary anyway. Not even Youkimi, sadly." He glanced up from his drawing to Roland. "I don't mean that she's not good, you know; she might just be too good..." He paused to scrawl out a map of the two nations as best as he knew them.
"Right. I have control, right now, of three provinces. Youkimi won't interfere, so that gives me four lands to work with." He had made lines indicating a path from his lands, through the royal territory, into Bellris by way of Titania. "I've been working on something. It'll be a faster trade route--we've already destroyed the roads the two queens had agreed upon in my lands--but... I don't see why it couldn't be used to dispense troops quickly. I'm certain that this'll be the quickest way to get my men into Bellris, wherever they're needed, without interference from the crown. They aren't trained, but they are strong. This is what we have to work with, for the moment." Indeed, same tides which tug at the moon take on a new shape in the strain; Dixon exhaled smoothly as he could, knowing he was about to change Ethe history. ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════Quotes

Company:: No one Outfit:: Peaceful chief Feeling:: Focused Condition:: Healthy Location:: Near river by Zalto and Phobos border Currency:: 5000¢ EC Items:: TalwarOOC:: Yhudah, Chieftain of the Guzul So far the Guzul clan had been holding their ground against the Soulshredders, but they have been fighting too many for too long. As a result their chief, Yhudah, has commanded the Guzul to leave home and travel the lands aimlessly until things cleared up and they could go back home. It was as though a curse had been placed upon the clan and their lands and Yehudah couldn't help but feel as though that priest of Leo he talked to at the rivers of Bellris had something to do with his clans bad luck. Yhudah wasn't a complete slave to superstition but he surly believe in the power of the gods and how they can be fickle when it came to the lives of phoenix and dragon alike. Like their ancestors of old, the Guzul fell back on their nomadic roots and kept close to rivers as they traveled up from Phobos to camp not too far out from the kingdom of Zalto. His clansmen have been continuously sacking Zalton trading caravans while dressed in Bellrisian armors they had stolen while in the dark phoenix lands and since they have been in the land of light dragons it was only fitting they stole more to support themselves and their lengthy stay. For the most part they would hunt normally for food but this was the chief's opportunity to turn the misfortune into fortune for the one who survived the attacks from the Soulshredders. Yhudah felt he owed his people that much for having been gone when the initial attacks began...so while over looking the travailing encampment he thinks about to to keep his tribe smiling as they do now eating happily and continuing on with life in different green pastures.

Zamora watched her husband from a short distance away, worry etched on her face for both her people and him. The surviving members of the tribe were disheartened and tired from the fights with the soul shredders that had driven them from their home. Were she a little more confident in her ability to put smiles on their faces, she would be dancing for them. Breathing a sigh after a moment or two she moved to sit in her lovers lap as usual, resting her head on his shoulder. "Yhudah you are too tense, the people can feel it. You need to help bring them comfort and hope that things will be once again like they were." She whispered before kissing his cheek in an attempt to help him feel better and hopefully break his focus. Her speech had grown much more fluid in their travels all because she began listening to those they had been raiding.

Baroness Youkimi Kai Living today without a way To understand the weight of the world
Having excused herself from the conversation, the baroness patiently waited for the queen to be settled on the strong back of her guard, the same who had been her majesty's wings for the journey. She donned her feathers again and flew alongside the guard's wings once they took off from the ground.
Fortunately, the air was clear, and traveling was a simple and straightforward process. Unfortunately, Youkimi had so much on her mind. Questions she couldn't ask. Worries that still brewed. A sharp awareness of how precarious their current position was. Later, perhaps, she would find answers or gather some means to console those who had been affected. Perhaps there was news from Bellris? She had requested new means of traveling and meeting for those returning to Ethe be set up. She trusted those who were with her. Because they willingly did what there was no money in. She was cautious of those who would take advantage of the weak, which is why she trusted leadership of the matter to her most diligent knights....
But this did not stop her from wanting to suddenly veer off course and dash to her former home in Bellris. She only barely managed to restrain herself, reminding herself that she trusted others. Right now, she was with the queen. They were returning to Ethe. They would talk. Her priority was in the moment. She flew with the queen to the palace.
[Exit to Ethe]

Company:: Count Dixon Outfit:: Cloak & DaggerFeeling:: Slightly relaxed Condition:: Healthy Location:: Meeting Stone Currency:: 5000¢ EC Items:: DyrnwynOOC:: I thought I posted this already. Prince Roland Leoharz Bellris The queen of Ethe was indeed a kind hearted woman. It truly did seem to Roland their lands were blessed with good natured souls and perhaps that had to do with the difference of light and dark. Roland never did see himself as a good person, truth be told. A strong person, yes, but a good person...not in a million years. But that was okay. As a knight Roland has to kill to defend and fight to achieve. The weight of government sanctioned murder weighed heavy on his heart but he knew if he didn't do it the burden would fall to another and there lay the reason he could do evil in the name of others; So that he may carry the sin and no other souls need be loss but his own. "That is a noble notion, Queen Ophelia. I thank you so much for offering what help you can. If I do need to leave my lands and do count on this duke then you can be sure I'll return the favor to you someday." Civil war brought may fears along with it but if things go out well and Roland dose seize control then he won't be forgetting the people from another country which helped him in his hour of need. "I wish I could offer you more and then gratitude and wishful words but all I can give is my thanks to you Ophelia, and my prayer that you and yours make it home safely." His eyes mostly stay on the queen and her child glowingly growing inside of her but his fine eyes would brush over to Youkimi as well and in his soft crimson gaze he thought of her as well; Hoping she stay safe so he may see her again someday. With he alone with Dixon, and Roland having explain what his own plans are, Dixon expressed the long reaching consequences of a civil war and he was right; This affected lad will bring effects the whole world over. Roland knew the many issues that might arise but what he wasn't expecting to hear was the count himself expressing openly of his country. He didn't want admit that he had lost his faith in his rulers but the way he spoke told Rand otherwise. Still, he loved his lands and his people and didn't want them getting involved in a situation they didn't have to. In truth Dixon himself didn't have to involve himself either but Roland was thankful for his support. "Men with potential is all I need." Roland says with a smile after looking up from the poorly drawn map; Best they could do without a cartographer I'm afraid. "But if they are to use that road so we may sneak them into the country we'll need to destroy it as they pass on it. My sister is damn good using her spies and if she even catches a strand of suspicion that Ethe had a hand in assisting me she'll no doubt place blame on Youkimi and try to cut her down. Like I mentioned earlier, she almost had me killed for wanting Youkimi on our council and I know she'd think her the traitor first since they didn't get along at all. Another thing you would need to know is that this war I am going to wage isn't the traditional sort....It'll be quite and slow from within the walls."

"Hm... I see." Dixon seemed to be thinking intensely, hand on his chin, foot fidgeting. "I had come under the impression that this was going to be a quick job, using my forces to overload the castle and take out our little defacto queen..." Consternation.

Company:: Count Dixon Outfit:: Cloak & DaggerFeeling:: Curious Condition:: Healthy Location:: Meeting Stone Currency:: 5000¢ EC Items:: DyrnwynOOC:: Prince Roland Leoharz Bellris Roland could understand the count and so he'd say things to him out right. "Because simply killing my sister will not be enough to secure my new position of power. If I kill her outright no one of my nation will accept my power as they would see me exactly as one of our most hated villain of history." Bellris has, or had, always been a queendom with a decree that no man shall be king unless the male heir was the very last survivor of the royal Bellris bloodline. "If I am to do this I'm going to right, by slaying the ones who support Hysteria's agenda and installing my own people to aid in the crowd control that is to follow." But then, suddenly, the prince gave Dixon a playful smile with a strange look to his crimson gaze as he ask, "Why is it that you want to help me , Dixon? I can't say it's my charm because I don't have that effect on men." He slightly chuckle with his ears perked on waiting for what was the reason Dixon wanted to help when others wouldn't too much and his people clearly didn't see this as their fight.

The count, on the other hand, would not share in that smile. His eyes remained as hard and focused as Roland's had been just a moment ago. "Don't be simple," he snapped. His torso raised up, not unlike an alpha gathering attention. "This is a matter of principle. I can tell."
"I'm afraid I don't know your true motives or what kind of person you are--the suggestion that you'd want me to know in your question is a shrewd device, I must say." He wasn't really angry at the prince, no, but he would grant him the courtesy of striking his hair back with something of a wry smile replacing his hard-line mien. "Luckily, no one needs to tell me what honor looks like; I've been searching for it ever since I became a noble, racking these bones: wave upon wave of bureaucracy and idiosyncratic utilitarianism--right! I know them both well, good prince. If what you aim for is to destroy these--these agents of that plague... Well, then I reckon I should have no choice but to aide you--even at the current stakes." ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════Quotes

"You use to strike me as a man who claws his way to the top and cares for no one but himself and what he can obtain for his own selfish desires. I'm glad to admit that I was wrong, and to admit you're a man who doesn't stand idly by when trouble starts brewing. You take initiative, and as a man of action I can respect that." The prince was not some teetotaling milk sucker and didn't have a sign of self doubt in his lion pride. His father was a famed knight and Roland his prodigy. Wether or not people knew of this or not Roland's physique showed he was no pushover. His military knowledge was yet, publicly, known so there was that possibility that Roland was getting this untrusted feeling from Dixon because the Bellrisan prince was so young but this was why there were face to face meetings; To iron out the little details and smoothen out the doubt. "So then is it official? You will bring me able bodies and they will be sure to hide evidence of that road of yours as I later smuggle them into my own private grounds?" A true friend of Dixon if he was telling truth in says his promises to the prince, and a person he'd be glad to help for assisting him her and now.

All the honesty in the air was refreshing, that much could be said without expending any breath. Dixon couldn't help chuckling, amiable smile returning to his steely countenance. "I'm flattered," he said, stretching out a hand.
"And, if I may, I had only been so cross during our fist meeting because I only knew the worst. The deals which I proposed, which must have seemed like some usury of your country's kindness, were meant chiefly to discourage what I thought I could stop." His hands were just as rough as Roland's, gaining what he had from a life of manual labor as opposed to structured training: different but not different. "I've come to know that the easiest way to discourage usury is to offer an equally hard deal to counter. Even if you did take the deal, I was confident in my ability to repay you many times over. Ethe is growing, good prince, and I see it better to prosper together than to give in to petty politics." He stood before the prince now a different man. No longer a rival, but an ally.
"Of course I will help you. Better to have a man I can trust on the throne of our oldest enemy than Hysteria. I only ask one thing," said the count--he was bent down, scooping up dirt and smacking it on his face. "Don't let too many of my men die. I'd like to have them safe at home and able to forget this when it's all over." He rose again. "I'd like a good supply of bows for my men as well. I intend to destroy the pillars, but for a time they will serve as adequate turrets."
════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Finally, time had come for the last son of Titanus to depart. His aura began to glow. He erased the drawing he'd made earlier with his foot.
"I'm glad we had this talk today, Prince Bellris." He nodded confidently. "You are still Prince, after all--soon to be king!" He was beginning to transform now. "I must be off. There are appearance to maintain, you know. Fare thee well!" And with a couple powerful flaps, he was off into the horizon.

Company:: Count Dixon Outfit:: Cloak & DaggerFeeling:: Content and anxious Condition:: Healthy Location:: Meeting Stone Currency:: 5000¢ EC Items:: DyrnwynOOC::  Prince Roland Leoharz Bellris Of course Dixon had to explain himself but Roland found it amusing no the less. Misguided rumors would send anyone the other way if lies were spread well enough but in the lies truth and still be plucked and followed. In that old case of Roland v Dixon the prince could fearfully see one common truth and that was Hysteria's hand still at command of what was to happen and what has happened since. After shaking the hand of the count and striking the deal Roland could feel this serge of energy running through him like an adrenaline shot that wanted to storm the castle right now. He could totally see why Dixon thought it would be an overnight sort of thing...but he knew he had to bide his time. Compound interest was a magical force to be reckoned with...and now the prince understand what the Drosselmeyer meant when they said this to him. With Dixon off to his duties Roland had to be off to his own. With wings of black and ritual makings like his own crimson eyes adorning his wings the dark phoenix flies off to keep appearances and arrive before light rises. But one thing happened while Roland...and that that knights he had in waiting behind the hillside also took flight after seeing their master take to the skies safe and sound. All the knight which had been loyal to Sir Leon now had their loyalty pledged to Roland and were sure to strike if Roland had shot a fireball into the air just as he had planned with them. Seeing no distress signal they all assumed the meeting had gone well and kept to their promise not to attack unless attacked first. Alll parties gone and noething more lay here but an empty crater in the dirt and a meeting stone standing alone aginst the empty trials of time that pass it by. { Exit }
