As the two were enjoying tea and conversation--lovely combo, by the way--there would come a knock at the door. Just a couple light taps.
Believe me, it might have been all she could offer at the moment; her face was rosy and pale all at once, hopefully enough; her eyes had turned puffy, but it gave her face a jovial softness.
Earlier, Emi had been picking up the slack from Ayane. What was Ayane doing? Why,
stealing back the souls of the orphans about town from the "Witchlings," of course! Farbeit from dear Ayane and to let sweet, delicate Emi, whose name and voice were the breath of beauty in a cold, grey world, lay her life on the line--well, we don't want to mention the harrowing battle with the broken chamber pot,
or the haphazard grace displayed at the removal of the swallow's nest...

 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Queen Elentiya Llewellyn Elentiya smiled "well whomever gets stuck with my brother I hope they know how to not get killed" she said, as bleak as it sounded it was better then saying that she hoped they knew how to please him well. Elentiya then looked back at Athena as a knock came on the door followed by a small voice "come in" she called out before leaning forward and resting her hands on Athena's leg "as much as I envy your courage, if it comes down to such a thing, bow to my father. I don't advocate for him out of loyalty or blood ties, but more so I know what its like to grow without a mother" she looked down at Athena's stomach "don't let pride cloud you" she then leaned back "The children may be the future, but we shape the future with what we do now, and what they inherit is left up to our actions." she said to her. When the maid showed her face Elentiya smiled at her "thank you" she said.

Athena replied before looking towards the door and smiling as her sister-in-law told the young maid to enter before resting her hands upon her legs. Bowing her head and breathing a soft sigh as she heard the words Ele spoke to her, she gave a slight nod. "Please don't mistake me Ele. I have no intentions of causing my child to grow up without me. I would in truth rather stand with Roland should a battle occur, but I know all too well that both he and my brothers would never allow such a thing. I do however thank you for your caring words of advice." She replied before giggling lightly. "Well then the only thing I can do is hope for the best and try to be a good mother for my child. Were it possible I would have run away with Roland and lived life as a farmer or something. Just a quiet life with a husband and child would be enough." She murmured before smiling at the young maid. "Thank you...Emi?" She said, questioning whether she had the correct twin or not.

"Thank you, milady..." Emi did let herself in, as she was told. No sense making the ladies get up. She caught the tail end of the conversation--not enough to really gauge what it was about.
"Yes, Lady Athena, it's me." Emi held a tray in her hand: fine silver, cool jelly on the fluffiest crackers in the kingdom, no shortage of additives for the tea. She set it down on the nightstand there and gave her hair a soft flip.
"It's in the hair, milady." A quick bow to Elentiya. "And I hope my queen is pleased with the night. Is there anything I can do to serve you?" She was beginning to sound very polished. ❁º°‘¨ ¨‘°º❁Current EC:

Things seem to be heating up In Bellris. I know its just my first day as Queen and all, but I've already read some papers about our trade routes getting attacked at the boarder, and word came this morning that fires have broken out at refugee houses.... not to mention of high lord of Ethe was found...." "Yes I had heard of the trade route attacks, but I didn't realize it had gotten worse. You don't think that Bellris officials have something to do with the attacks on the trade routes and the Ethian refugee homes, do you?" She asked before biting her lip and gazing into her tea cup. On the other side of the door her head was ringing with the worry of ten thousand scenarios. At the first least, she thought, devil clutching her heart, she was going to have to pick up the slack of who-knows-how-many staff members as they were drafted--which of course led her to an infinite range of good to bad to worse outcomes on either side of a branching tree from "victory or defeat." She began to walk again, tray in hand,
head in other hand.
Step, step, step. Gone was the gliding ease of morning, of afternoon, of most of the evening;
Emi plodded down the hall and today the stairs with an unmeasured gait. She would,
indeed, find every fault in the carpet--best to leave some work til the morn!
Downstairs and back again as fast as she could, once she hit the landing; she was gone through every motion as though a time-lapsed film of some busy fiddler crab, feasting away as fast as it could just so it could keep up the pace it needed to feast so, so that it could keep up...
A knock again. This time, though, Emi would let herself in, bring hot water and fresh leaves for the royal ladies.
"Fresh tea," she announce, setting the tray down and starting to pour for the two of them.

I heard rumors of Zalto's trade routes being attacked but they were just rumors until I saw the papers detailing the losses." Elentiya sighed and then looked back up at Athena "As....much as I worry for the Refugee's its not something I think we should get into, its not like we have any right to butt in...." Elentiya looked away from Athena "We have no official ties to Bellris, and with my marriage into the Llewellyn family it could be seen as a bid by the empire trying to regain control of Bellris if we interfere" Elentiya then looked back at Athena "The best we can do is to save our trade routes...." Elentiya looked up when the servant girl came back into the room. "Thank you" she said and then looked at the ground yet again. She was never really one to think politically, she was lucky to have any type of understanding of it since the politics were normally left with her brothers and eldest sister. What she knew she had learned from the church. She would once again raise her eyes to Athena's, she had never been good with holding eye contact, something she would need work on "The Llewellyns and the Lionis family have always been very closely intertwined.... Even though I'm not a Lionis in name I have their blood..." Elentiya managed to keep her head up this time "we share a close history as well... It wasn't that long ago that Lionis had a time were we were weak, when Zalto was taken over by the Abadaxor King, we could not help. Zalto almost fell because the Empire couldn't do anything.... I don't think my father would like me saying this, but I don't think Zalto should rely much on the Lionis Empire... Drosselmeyers are Drosselmeyers, the Empire was founded by a Lionis and I think it may take one to keep it together.... just as how when an Abdaxor took over Zalto- it did not fair well until a Llewellyn took it back"

"They had only been rumours until you've now confirmed them." She replied before giving another nod to agree with the young woman. "Yes I must agree that it would be unwise to interfere in the matter of the refugees, and that it's best to focus on keeping our trade routes safe, but that does not mean we cannot voice our thoughts in the safety of this room." She said before Emi came back into the room making her smile warmly. "Thank you Emi. I believe we're alright for the moment, so you may carry on with any other duties unless you wish to join us. You haven't yet had the chance to get to know those you help look after." She said to the young maid before her attention was once again drawn to her sister-in-law, causing her to breath a soft sigh. "It is true that the Lionis and the Llewellyn families have been closely intertwined, but it is also true that both the Lionis kingdom and Zalto have been intertwined throughout history..." She murmured, pausing to take a sip of the fresh tea Emi had poured for them and then looking back at Ele. "What you've just said could be considered treason against your father, though I will admit I must once again agree with you. That being said though you may want to make sure that statement remains silent beyond this room..." She cooed while glancing towards Emi as if to tell the young woman to keep the comment to herself when she leaves the room. "As you've said though Elentiya, Lionis may just need a member of that bloodline to keep it from falling apart, but unless the rumours are true there is no way for a Lionis to regain the thrown of the empire. There is also the matter of whether Aldon would remain loyal to your father or side with the rightful heir, should an uprising occur. After all such a situation would cause a great deal of stress for those in the other lands,
as well as here."

Emi stammered. She didn't quite know how to respond for two reasons:
the obvious shock of having been regarded so casually equal by these two women of great status, and the intensity of the subject matter;
she thought she wouldn't be able to leave the room now, as much as she would have liked to.
"I... Well..." She quivered cutely, legs refusing to follow head and flee. "Thank you, milady."
With something a of a relieved exhalation,
the girl found for herself a place to sit, thinking this to be a terrible boldness in and of itself; she looked upon the royal ladies with a kind of childlike wonder--however it might have actually looked filtered through her normally stoic demeanor (that is to say its changes to her permanent visage). ❁º°‘¨ ¨‘°º❁Current EC:

The Empress Catherine's massacre of the royal line." Elentiya said as she swirled her new cup of tea "If this prove to be true I have half a mind to ask Aldon to support the claimant of the throne, after all I feel like its time that Lionis once again has a womans touch... after all look at Zalto, three Queens and the Kingdom was brought to a golden age that was able to make even the Empire shiver" Elentiya said to her sister-in-law. "If you do not mind sister Athena, Ms. Emi, I would like you two to accompany me to the Church of Onera that is being built in two... I know Aldon didn't sanction its building, but I would like to give it my...um, protection, as queen here." she said to them both "I feel like it will be necessary if the structure is going to get much passed its base or stay standing much after its finished... Are you aloud to head into the city with an escort Princess Athena?" she asked.

Hmm wouldn't it be nice if all of Epsilon could see such a thing? Perhaps then this chaos would stop and bloodshed would only be needed for defence against other nations." She murmured before looking down at her tea cup. "Do you think Aldon would be alright with that? As you said he didn't sanction the building of it, so what makes you believe he will allow you to visit it?" She asked before looking up at her sister-in-law and biting her lip nervously. "As far as I know I'm confined to the grounds, but as you are the queen dear sister, perhaps it wouldn't be frowned upon if I joined you. After all you can tell Aldon that it was by your personal invitation that has me leaving the grounds." There was so so much to take in... So, so much. Emi could hardly believe it;
a part of her scoffed internally, thinking "no way! This is just how they talk to make the life seem unappealing as possible so no one will covet their position." --but, inevitably, she let those thoughts go with a sigh. Suffice to say,
the bulk of her rumors were being replaced with even more scandalous truths.
"The church of Onera?" Parroted the maid,
taking her turn as she was spoken to. "I'm afraid I've never been. Haven't been the most devout church-goer..." She trailed off, honestly ashamed to a degree at her life; she didn't,
couldn't, wouldn't ignore the pious air of the queen and the similarity it had to many others around the castle. "it seems like such an important thing for you... Of course I will go,"

Back in Lionis is would be the god of Justice Zedekiah, Bellris I think it is Antari, Ethe it is Agni, and.... if I am remembering my studies correctly in Zalto the patron god is Mnelrolth, the god of tradition" Elentiya smiled "Though I admit I have never gone to see the temple of Mnelrolth in the Maude, I have heard that it is by far one of the most majestic, with the draconic body of the god circling the room" she said and looked back at Emi "In truth I would be more surprised if you had been to a service given my the church, The only church I am aware of is in the underground....for various reasons" she looked away, the church of Onera had been the center of several scandals in the past, kidnapping and treason being amongst them. Elentiya looked at Athena "Well, if we leave now its not like Aldon can stop us, besides I am queen, so long as you don't leave Zalto I'm sure Aldon and I can reconcile." Elentiya smiled at the Princess before leaning in and taking one of her hands in hers "Besides, being cooped up in this stuffy old castle probably isn't good for your baby either" she whispered.

Though she hadn't been to see the room herself, she had heard of its majestic nature from her father once and those within the city who didn't realize she had been near. As her sister-in-law looked at her, she gave a small smile. "I suppose that is true, but I don't want to cause a wedge between the two of you the day after the your wedding. As I said though, it would be your personal invite that would have me leaving grounds." She replied before biting her lip once more and looking to her tea cup. "You're probably right Ele, being cooped up here most likely isn't good for the baby... but..." She murmured before sighing and shaking her head. "No you're right, staying here can't be good for the baby at all. So, I would be happy to join you Ele and if Aldon does get angry then you can tell him I talked you into it, if you want."
