On her search for more items and more places to fortify, Beth saw at least one Chosen setting traps for any birds who might try to burst in. Though it seemed dangerous--what if someone on their side set it off?--the reward outweighed the risk. She bustled off to find the bucket of cleaner she had found earlier and set near the food. There wasn't much left of it, but it was enough to set by her stacked chairs, a weapon anyone could use.

There was a little more room to swing; Mal kept an eye on the others but he managed the swing well enough, he thought. He huffed out a breath at the screeching.

She could tell that not everyone was happy with the voted decision, but there was little time for anyone to dwell on it as the sound of wings and calls came from outside. It was as if the birds had heard their decision, waiting for their cue to attack – not that they would have spared the hotel had the debate ended differently.
Sylvia watched others run to different posts before deciding where she needed to be. The group was fairly well split between attacking the birds and patching the hotel more, but she decided that perhaps the patches were where she could help most – and seemed to align most with her earlier vote, if that mattered. She left to search for any missed holes that she could find. One of the windows that had been secured earlier was rattling, a bird beak trying to pry at the edge. Sylvia glanced nearby and found a table still intact; running to it, she broke off a leg and went back to wedge it into the edge of the window until she could break down more of the table.

Mal clipped the edge of a wing of one of the birds and -- really, he needed to keep his focus narrow, and stop worrying about the others. Chosen or civilians, the best thing he could do was keep the birds away.

Another arrow loosed, and only another bird grazed. Tara clicked her tongue, glaring out into the mess of birds. With so many, she was half-sure it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel. Instead, she was having trouble landing a shot. The hell? Well, they were at least making a dent.

Jumping down off the chair, Rob grabbed the top and pulled it after him as he searched higher up on the wall for holes to patch that others might have missed. He still had some batting and foam from the couch he'd torn up to use to shove into gaps, to prevent them from becoming bigger holes with the birds worrying at them with talons and beaks. There -- he spotted a hole at the top of a window frame. Positioning the chair in front of the window, he jumped up on it and quickly crammed the stuffing into the gap, using up the rest of it.

Marisol rushed towards a bird, cursing when her foot caught the edge of a chair in her haste. The whip lashed out cracking against the tip of its wing and she ducked, intending to grab something to try to block the window it'd ripped through as soon as she could. Beth started getting a bit desperate. Most items of use had already been...well, used. There wasn't enough time to search for more upstairs, so she dragged light items--broken chair legs and rugs, a tasteful vase--to rallying points along the way back to the lounge where their...civil discussion had began in. They could serve as improvised weaponry, obstacles against any terrestrial enemies that might pop up, or as last ditch fortifications should what they had failed.

Sidney James - Bow: Base Damage 6
Breathing deeply in and out, Sid forced herself to relax as she braced herself, drawing a new arrow to notch into her bow. This was about as good of a location and setting as she was going to get for this and she was going to make the most of it.
Remember the training. I can do this.
Drawing back, she sighted careful, took a deep breath, and let it out as she released her arrow. It zinged across the open space and smacked into a bird, knocking it clear out of the sky as it pierced through.
Sid whooped as she bounced up, throwing an arm in the air at her success. That had been a nice shot, better than anything she’d managed thus far.
Here’s to hoping for more of them.

Now what should he do...
Zebulon took a careful look at his towel cart and decided this might be best suited up against a door. He didn't necessarily want to block anyone outside, but maybe he could block a door that wasn't currently being utilised by those fighting off the birds.
He ran, pushing the cart along as he tried to find a place to set this cart. Once he found a door that actually seemed a little ajar from being pushed off balance, he shoved the cart into the door and kicked the stands on the wheels to stop them from moving around.

Catherine cursed and drew another arrow, aiming towards the bird that had taken up the assault on this window's blockade. She released the arrow only to see she had misjudged her shot and with a solid "whack" the arrow was burried in the wood beside the bird's head. Thankfully the thing was thrown off by the sound and removed itself from the window, at least temporarily. She looked hurriedly to those Chosen grabbing up supplies around the building and shouted, "This window needs reinforcing!"

While he was walking back from blocking up the door, he heard one of the other chosen shout about needing a window blocked. "On it!" Zebulon grabbed a nearby wooden sign and walked over to the aforementioned window, attempting to block up the window with it. It was really too bad he didn't have a hammer or any nails around to force it to stay up-- Quickly, he pushed a chair up against the window and leaned it into the wooden sign. It would do temporarily while he found something better to block it up. HP: 264

Rob heard the cry for someone to reinforce a window and went running in that direction, dragging the chair behind him. "Coming!" He reached the window and saw that somebody had beaten him to it. Looked like it would hold, too. Just to be sure, he stacked his chair on top of the one holding the sign in place.

As she made her way through the lobby, gathering what debris she could find and shooing lingering civilians out of the way, Misha watched her fellow Chosen interact... Or not as the case may be. Anger and tension and disappointment and determination rolled off everyone. Varying levels were displayed in motions and expressions. She saw the flush on Tara's face, the grimace on Marisol's. Rob's fast movements and just... Everyone. She snatched up a few blankets and headed for the stairs, determined to check the windows up there. On her way, she watched with a frown as Brian tore into birds with an expression that would have not been out of place on a statue. She wanted to touch his shoulder but feared it would through is balance off. She made a mental note. Spotting a broken window pane, Misha darted towards it and started stuffing blankets in the gap. If she had to, she could jam her shield in there, too, she supposed. 272
