Israel took the book from him and immediately began examining the sketch. His use of the light was perfect, not as intense as she had done and she smiled softly. It almost didn't seem like it was her. It was far too beautiful.

"I like the way you used the charcoals. You make it look so... real," she said, glancing up at him. "Are you really going to put color to it?" she asked looking back down at it. His style was so different from hers, but she liked it alot and wanted to see more of his work, especially his use of paints.

He nodded.
"If you don't mind that is." He said looking from Israel to the protrait. "I want to do it on a large canvas." He gestures about a metre by half a metre with his hands the visions of the painting running through his head. "In oil paints. My style is a bit old fashioned. Like the Victorian painters, but I think it will do your beauty justice."

He looked at her thoughtfully and chewed his bottom lip.
"It might take along time to complete, but ... maybe you would like to see it when I am working?" This wasn't a light offer, he didn't usually let anyone see his work until it was finished. Israel was different though, she was a fellow artist. She may be able to give him a removed eye for his work.

Israel blushed at his compliment, and looked back up into his eyes. "I don't mind at all," she smiled lightly. She reached out and handed his book back to him. As he chewed his lip, she couldn't help but think how endearing it looked. At his offer, her face lit up.

"Really? You really mean it Giani? I would love to! I was just thinking how I would love to see some of your canvas works, and it would be an honor to watch your technique," she smiled brightly.

Giani took the book and closed it. His eyes once more giving over to temptation and looking over her naked form.
"I would be honoured to have you watch me." He said with a small smile. It would also be a good oppertunity to get to know her better. He moved his eyes from hers and looked out at the sea. The blue sky was begining to take on warmer peachy hues. "Not to sound totally cliche, but do you want to stay here for a while longer, watch the sun set?"

Israel noticed his eyes wander away from hers to look at her and she suddenly became very aware of her body. Fighting the urge to blush she rose to her feet with a smile. She glanced over at the sky when he mentioned it as she made her way back to her clothes.

"What's wrong with cliche?" she grinned over her shoulder at him as she pulled on her clothes. Once she was resituated she returned sit down by his side, stretching her legs out in front of her and crossing them at the ankle. "This happens to be my favorite time of day. The way the sun changes everything, making it all rosy and golden and deepens the shadows. Some of my favorite paintings and memories are from watching the sunset," she smiled, watching as the blue waves slowly started to deepen in color. "What do you think?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow and glancing over at him.

Giani shrugged and watch her pull her clothes back on.
"People think asking someone to watch the sunset is cliche." He moved backwards a little so that he could lean against one of the jutting rocks. He held his arm out for her to join him. With the fading sun the air was growing cooler.

"I agree." He smiled looking up at the sky. "Sunset and dawn. I love them both. In Sorrento my parent's house looks out over the sea. The sunsets are beautiful there. I'd like to see some of your sunset paintings. If you don't mind showing me."

At his invitation, Israel scooted back to lean lightly against his side and sighed happily.

"The Italian sunsets are specatacular, especially along the seaside," she smiled fondly, remembering how her father would watch her paint them. She looked up at him with a warm smile. "I think we're beyond asking permission to see each other's work now," she teased lightly. "But since you asked so nicely, of course I don't mind. I don't have all of them here in Japan, but I did bring a couple of my favorites." She continued to smile up at him, then turned her head to look back out to the golden tipped waves, gently resting her head down on his shoulder. This had been such a strange day, she thought. But it had been the most fun and carefree she had had since her father had died and it had felt liberating in a sense. She glanced up at her new friend and smiled again. All problems she had had at Aquila were suddenly gone and all that mattered was sitting here, enjoying Giani's company and watching the sun set.

Giani smiled and rested his head against hers. It had certainly been an interesting day. He sincerely hoped that everyone at Aquila were as accomodating as Israel. It would certainly make the time he had to spend there fly by.
The thought of her eariler sadness crossed his mind.
"This boy, the one you broke up with. Do you think you will get back together?" He asked. It was a bold question, but one deep down he wanted to know the answer to.

Israel looked down to the sand at his question. She chewed on her lip as she thought about her answer. "No. Sora and I are just not meant to be together. He's a free spirit in the romance department," she said with a small smile. She had convinced herself it hadn't mattered, but until Xel entered her world, she hadn't realized how untrue that was. "I thought I could handle him being with other people, but I couldn't. It just got too confusing," she said softly. She hadn't meant to say all of that. But she hadn't talked to anyone about it yet, and pouring it all out on paper could only help so much.

Giani nodded and squeezed her shoulder.
"It sounds like a pretty destructive relationship if you ask me." He said looking out at the bright pink sky. "If someone is 'with' someone then they shouldn't chase after other people. It's like a greed."

He shrugged and gave her a sideways grin. "As I said, I'm cliche and old fashioned. Passion is like a water colour, it becomes weaker as you spread it around."

Israel smiled and looked up at him. "I like that. I had never thought of it that way before, but it makes perfect sense," she replied and turning her eyes back out to the sea.

"So what about you Giani? Did you leave anyone special behind in Sorrento?" she asked despite herself.

He smiled and shook his head.
"My last girlfriend, Rosanna and I broke up a couple of months ago. She was beautiful and fun, but we didn't have much in common. I think she got bored of my art rambling." He yawned, still suffering from jetlag a little. The truth was she had got sick of his mood swings but he wasn't about to tell Israel that.

Israel giggled lightly at the reason he offered for their break up. Some people really just didn't understand it when art consumed your life. At his yawn she looked up at him.

"Are you getting sleepy? We can go back if you need to," she smiled softly, looking into his warm brown eyes.
PostPosted: Wed May 03, 2006 1:55 am

"Mmmm." He said fighting his eyes open. "We probably should return I suppose." He was reluctant to go back and be alone again, he was enjoying Israel's company so much. Standing he stretched and held his hand out to help her up.

Israel took his hand in hers to pull herself up, dusting the sand off of her clothes. She looked over at the sunset once more, then gave Giani a happy smile.

"Yeah I think it would be a good idea. I haven't got a clue how to drive a motorcycle and you'd probably end up falling off the back anyways. Then where would I be?" she teased, keeping her hand resting lightly in his.
