"Not really. I know the most common types of gemstones and possibly some less common ones, but I can't tell you which crystals are best for picking radio waves or are best for magic usage, or really anything about why they are the color they are. You'd be better off asking Professor Tan that." he then corrected himself. "Or looking for a book in the library. Geology is not Professor Tan's strong area of science." he said.
He then nodded. "Yes, stones come in every color imaginable from black to white and everything in between. I imagine somewhere someone has done an image of every shade of color with gemstones. It's probably quite impressive...and expensive..." he said musingly.

"Oh..." He nodded, eyes still glued on the screen. "I guess I can look in the library. It's easier just to listen to someone else talk about it though." He shrugged, then yawned a little. "I think I'm tired.. and you have to write your essay huh." He leaned back, and then looked up at Vaden.

"Yeah, but Professor Dax would just fumble and send you off to get a book anyway. He doesn't know much of anything about rocks."
He watched the freshling yawn and then nodded. "I do, and you should probably go get ready for bed." he reached over and patted Gany's shoulder and stood up. "I'll check in with you tomorrow to see how Miss Rubelite is doing and if you have any questions you know where to find me."
He slipped his satchel back on and then gave the boy a little wave and then made for the stairs down to get back to his dorm.
