In the Garden of Monsters

As was a fairly regular occurrence, Argyle would arch an eyebrow in response to the noise. He wouldn't bother seeking it out of course....especially since it would appear it had found him. My he hadn't seen a tantrum like this since Mistress Rosevelt had attended a social in the same dress as the much younger hostess...and the young lady had certainly worn it better. Though he supposed that didn't matter now, nor did it matter why this woman was so angry. With any luck a loss would cool her temper....or cause he direct it elsewhere....or maybe just spontaneously combust. There was a wide variety of reactions he'd found.

Jekyll meanwhile would simply drop off of Argyle's shoulder, making a show of cracking his neck left and right before taking a fighting stance. ">Sorry to say but you're about to pay for someone's tantrum. No hard feelings<" Rather than polite of course, Jekyll, being himself, merely sounded arrogant. Though his track record sort of spoke for him.

Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.

Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard.

The girl balled one of her hands into a fist and punched it hard into the other at Jekyll's movement. She wasn't grinning so much as bearing her teeth at the pair in front of her-- perhaps she was still working on feeling emotions that weren't pure fury. "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! LET'S GO, CACTUS-KID! AND YOU!" Here she'd point dramatically to her Pokemon. "STARTING WITH A COLLISION! TACKLE THAT FROG!"

>Gotcha, boss!< The little Zigzagoon gave Jekyll a blissfully perky smile. >There's nothing to fear here!< he asserted to the Croagunk. >Besides, life is suffering! I welcome the embrace of the void, whenever it decides to come!< He remained ever-cheerful, launching himself at the blue menace with a Tackle.

What was it with people and referring to him as some sort of plant. Granted if anyone knew his natural disposition they might compared him to a cactus but...

Lord Arceus was this what people were reducing to him? Mindless prattle extending into his own mind! "Jekyll, use Headbutt" In truth he could see their odds weren't great here...but....well it was just the beginning wasn't it?

">You are like....depressingly cheery aren't you<" Jekyll commented a bit dryly. Since his opponent was coming right at him, the Croagunk would simply stand his ground and aim his head. LEt the Zigzagoon do the work!

(18-11)+(11-12) = 6 DMG! Jekyll is at 19 HP!
"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The frizzy-haired girl pumped her fist in the air, looking practically manic. Bouncing on her toes, she looked like she might leap across the aisle and start punching Argyle. At least she was having a good time. "TAKE IT, SHORT STUFF! HIT US IF YOU CAN!"

>Embrace the void, friend!< The Zigzagoon had landed right on Jekyll during his attack. He smiled down at the Croagunk and clambered off. >The void loves you. It knows your sins. And it loves you nonetheless.< He wiggled away and dove into a nearby box. Would he find the void here? Or at least avoid the next attack?

In the Garden of Monsters

Argyle would give a dismissive huff to the woman's comments as well as the blow his Croagunk had taken "Not particularly good at insults are you? I'm twelve, of course I'm short. Do you have an excuse for being a frizzy string-bean?" The boy asked rudely, crossing his arms as he handed "You look like someone tried to dye a cotton swab. Or perhaps a particularly irate clown." Looking away from his opponents, Argyle would then look to Jekyll "Off your butt. Get some payback with Headbutt."

The Croagunk practically shivered with glee listening to Argyle. There was his trainer! No more mask! No more nice words! It was an insult party and everyone was invited! Leaping to his feet, the Croagunk was practically grinning all the way round ">Ok Mr Church of the Holy Void. Aside from getting you a dictionary, I'm gonna give you a few lumps to boot! Don't worry, you'll be much prettier after<" The Poison-type started to snicker ">Not that that's exactly difficult!<" Bounding forward the, Jekyll would attempt to smack his skull against that of his opponent. A classic Headbutt!

"UH... OH YEAH?" The girl apparently only had one volume setting, and that was "frighteningly loud". "YOU'RE, UH... SHORT! AND ANNOYING! AND..." She screwed up her face, biting down on her lip. "SCREW IT! I DON'T HAFTA JUSTIFY MY APPEARANCE TO YOU! MAYBE YOU SHOULDA EATEN SOME STRING BEANS, KID!" She smirked, having apparently decided this was an acceptable insult. Perhaps she was still too excited or angry to think. "UMM... RAIN DANCE!"

>The void isn't in here,< the Zigzagoon remarked, wiggling himself out of the the box. He stood, balanced awkwardly on the lid. >And I don't really want to... but fine. Perhaps this shall appease the end of all things.< With a low human, he started to spin and bounce in place, an odd staccato beat tapping out with his toes.

In the Garden of Monsters

"My my. Forward aren't we? You could at least invite me to dinner before dessert" The boy said cooly. Oh certainly he was twelve, but he wasn't exactly ignorant to things of a more....adult nature. Around Mistress Rosevelt you couldn't afford to me. Everyone knew what happened to the Argyle before the Verdes. "Jekyll counter with Headbutt" True they'd failed every attack so far....but third time was the charm wasn't it?

">You do know the void is quite literally nothingness right? As in, the absence of things, up to and including sentience?<" The Normal-type was either crazy, stupid, or craaaazy stupid. Possibly a combination of the three. did that make sense? Did it matter? Not a lick. Leaping forward the Croagunk would once again seeka meeting of the minds by smashing his head into that of his opponent.

(19-7)+(16-9) = 19 DMG! Zigzagoon is at 3 HP! Zigzagoon flinches!

"Dessert?" Apparently, the girl did have other settings. Or perhaps she'd been baffled back into factory mode. Either way, she'd arch and unkempt eyebrow and shake her head. "Nah, I'm not a fan of dessert. Too sugary. I like... spaghetti's pretty good!" Her face lit up in something that probably wasn't battle-rage. "You get to boil stuff, and cut things, and there's fire sometimes!" She tilted her head to the side, apparently now distracted by food. "Tea's pretty good too, for the same reasons."

>Ooooo, nothingness...< The Zigzagoon had been completely knocked off balance, landing hard on the ground. All he could do was curl up in a tiny ball, hoping he could hunker down enough as a defense.

In the Garden of Monsters

For once it was Argyle placed in silence as he gave the girl a blank stare. She'd certainly get along with Argyle V, though he imagined her kitchen was still less of a trainwreck than when HE tried to cook....what was left of the kitchen anyway. They'd get along like a house on fire....lots of running around....screaming....

"Alright my patience is starting to wear thin. Jekyll let's finish this and move on! USE HEADBUTT!" Argyle ordered, perhaps a bit more dramatically than necessary.

Pretending to crack his neck, Jekyll would smile broadly. Time for a head shot! Could he get past the goalie and score the winning point!? TIME TO FIND OUT! Racing forward, of all the ridiculous things the Poison-type could do, he would attempt to kick the Zigzagoon into the air, before leaping up and headbutting him back at his trainer!

"Mmm... man, spaghetti, though. I really ought to call up the gang, and we can watch Mew Mew Kis-- HEY!" She'd suddenly shake her head, shocked about something that had crossed her mind, and pointed right at Argyle. "YOU'RE TRYING TO DISTRACT ME FROM THE BATTLE! WITH FOOD!" Clenching her hand into a fist, she shake it dramatically at the littlest butler. "I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT! ZIGGY STARDUST, PURSUIT!"

>There's no soccer in the void,< the Zigzagoon announced, clambering to his feet. With a dogged glare in his eyes, he'd rush right at the Croagunk! Nothing would escape his dark Pursuit!

"The only one distracting you is you. Sort of like a Magikarp swimming in a bowl" Argyle smirked, though she'd probably miss the implication. Some people believed Magikarp only had a recall of about 10 seconds. "I believe it's time to end this. Jeklly? Once more" Argyle stated, casting his Croagunk a side glance as he recrossed his arms.

">Well its a good thing we aren't there!<" The Poison-type croaked as he stood there, striking a dynamic post as he tightened his hands into fists, gritting his teeth as his muscles tensed. Crouching low, the Croagunk would kick off with such force as to send dust flying. Head down, arms close to his body, it was clear he intended to end the Zigzagoon's pursuit with his own Headbutt! ">YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWH!<" This was the rush of battle he lived for! Outside the delight of mocking people of course.

(20-9)+(16-9) = 18 DMG! Zigzagoon is at -15 HP!

The Zigzagoon had returned to the void, but his trainer was still here. And surprisingly, it seemed she'd calmed down. "Hey, yeah... meat for the spaghetti!" She'd sling the Zigzagoon's corpse over her her shoulder and flashed Argyle a grin. "Guess I got a little nuts cause I haven't eaten today. Thanks for the reminder, kid; I'm gonna go take a break." She started off, but paused, throwing some gold in his direction. "Get yourself some food, short stuff!"

Argyle gains 97 Gold!

In the Garden of Monsters

for a moment Argyle would simple stare as he watched the girl leave, but once she was gone he would simply shrug. Waste not want not he supposed. Besides at least she'd know whether or not the meat was diseased and what the animal had been fed with. In the wake of that thought the boy would kneel down and gather up the 'spoils of war' as it were, shuffling them into his coin purse. Then he'd gesture for Jekyll to follow him, strangely the Croagunk had lagged behind...

Jekyll however seemed distracted, standing still and staring at his hands for a long hard moment. It was then a gleam came into his bulbous yellow eyes. Adjusting his fingers so the middle was over and slightly ahead of the other two, the Croagunk would assume what closely resembled a martial arts stance. Slowly his orange fingers would glow a vivid and toxic looking purple...then with speed normally in serpents, the amphibian would strike the air multiple times, turning around on his slick and slimy feet when he was satisfied.

[Jekyll learned POISON STING!]

In the Garden of Monsters

Once Jekyll was done re-living his dream to be in a kungfu movie, Argyle would gingerly pick up the Croagunk with white gloved hands and place him on his shoulder. They didn't have time to dawdle. Really they didn't even know if customers were allowed back here, but they could worry about that later. It wasn't exactly a problem for this exact moment.

Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M]
Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 8
[Temperament] Naughty
