                TURN END______________________________________________________________________

As the blade sank into the AI for the last time he immediately rushed froward knocking the AI on it's back as its life faded. Faelan watched curiously as the life faded from the AI. It was the first time he had the pleasure of killing one of these mutated machines. Sure he had injured more than a few, but he had never gotten to kill one. The joy was easily noticeable within his eyes. However the joy eventually contorted into anger. Which gave way into the massive amount of killing intent that had buried its way into his body. So just before the AI started to fade he made one last move and buried his teeth into the circuitry of the AI's neck before shaking his head in a motion that would have led any normal person with a broken neck. However the AI just faded to code as Faelan's fist flew into the dirt where the AI's body had been. Then the whole world was once again turned upside down as he shot awake. His right hand shot out and latched onto the closest doctors throat. The need for the doctors death fully formed within his mind already. Normally the doctors neck would have already been shattered and Fae would move onto the next person in the room. However a strong grip firmly held Faelan's arm by the wrist keeping him from delivering the final blow. “Thanks” The words were still devoid of any actual gratitude and the simple fact was that Faelan did not seem to care if the doctor lived or died. His consciousness was only starting to return.

Apparently Fae had already lashed out several times before injuring several doctors that had come to restrain him. So two Baiters were asked to come and restrain him. A sold hour passed by in which the doctors asked questions and Faelan didn't speak a single word more than would answer their questions. They soon realized that Faelan wasn't going to play ball. “I won, it lost, and now it is a part of me.” A hidden presence voiced it's approval as if it accept Faelan's simple way of thinking. It was then that another doctor entered into the room followed by a series of nurses who held a series of both excited and devilish smiles as each carried a few bags. The Doctor however simply managed an apologetic smile. A sudden look of realization sprang up within his mind as Faelan recognized just who the doctor and various nurses were. A sudden smile crossed Faelan's lips as mental seals locked in place. “Glad you survived.” The doctor laughed lightly before patting Faelan on the back affectionately. “When I let them know I was coming to see you, I just couldn't stop them from following me with various intentions of their own it seems.” The doctor sighed as he looked at the expectant nurses. “I asked if I could come and deliver the news to you personally. It would seem someone has taken a keen interest to you, and you have been selected to participate in a tournament of sorts.” Faelan chuckled lightly at the thought of entering a tournament so soon, and then suddenly a serious expression crossed his lips. “One fight to another, but more importantly doctor how is my body doing, it stablizing?” A slight chuckle escaped the doctor as Faelan jumped straight into serious conversation. “It appears to have stabilized for now, and we have finished analyzing the chemicals in the drug they gave you. We have refined it and synthesized a new formula that will help slow the changes to your body and alleviate any discomfort you might feel. I had some already placed in your injector for you, when you need more just ask.” Faelan sighed in relief. Thinking about dying a slow death while his body wasted away had made him rather worried. However now he was Baiter and luck had seemed to have won out in the end.

“Now I have three gifts for you, as a way of congratulating you on becoming a Baiter. The first is this.” The doctor held out his hand to the side as one of the nurses step forwards that was cradling a long sheath that held no hilt. “This sheath has been created specifically for you and can connect to your code core. When connected with your core it will create a blade on demand for you. They are not the strongest, but it can create as many as you need. I call it the forge.” Faelan looked on with a smile as he hummed to himself thinking of all the possible ways to use this new device. “The second present is this.” The doctor once again spoke and once again another nurse stepped forward. This time Faelan recognized the item in her hands. “My fathers sword!” they had restored the blade back to its original length. The blade wasn't as strong as it was before, but the blade was now fully intact. “Yes. The third gift will be delivered to you after the tournament as it is still being made.” The doctor said with a slight smile as he saw Faelan was about to speak. “No need to thank me, BAITR paid for all of it to be made I only made the suggestions. Now the nurses also had things they wanted to give you as well.” With that said the doctor turned and left urging the others in the room to leave Faelan and the nurses alone. He would be here for a while before they would let him out of their clutches. However Fae didn't seem to mind all the doting.

█ ▎ ▏ ▎ █ █ ▎ ▎ ╫ ▏ █ ▎ ▏▎ ▏ █ ▎ ▎▎

With the final blow dealt, blood escaped from the Zerox's chest freely and some of it sprayed onto Satoru in the process. The man didn't so much as flinch or recoil, but regained his composure instead as the Raven spoke it's last dying words to the human soldier before he soon passed on in bits of numbers, letters and characters. The blood that even spilled on him evaporated into the forming ribbon of coding and as it all gathered, it darted right for the back of his neck. There was a sharp pain as he winced and reached for his neck to rub it, although it really wasn't necessary since the pain left as quick as it came. Looking over his blade, it too was no longer stained with crimson. He did it . . he really did it. He couldn't celebrate just yet though, everything around him slowly disappearing one by one and the black void taking over once more. He was coming to; back to the real world. Giving one last glance to the Osaka Castle, Satoru brought a hand over his chest and gave a small bow while closing his eyes. When he reopened them, the young man had to blink his eyes a couple of times to refocus them since he was no longer in the illusionary realm of his mind, but back in reality that was the HALF process room. The anesthetic mask was removed before he sat up, noticing the doctors present from earlier both welcome him back and congratulate him on his victory. Once the effect of the gas was completely gone, there was another bolting pain to his neck, reaching his arm up to the back of his head and touched the armor piece. Waiting for the feeling to pass, he unlocked and detached it from his suit, bringing it in front of him so he could see if anything changed. From what he heard, it did since the piece now matched the dark ebony color of the Zerox's feathers and in place of where the bar code used to be at the center was now a small encrusted emblem of golden wings. So, the Zerox was inhabiting the core and was now a part of him.

Attaching and locking it back into place with a few clicks, Satoru then went through a small questionnaire concerning his physical and mental condition thus far. Everything felt fine for the most part other than the small aching in his chest from the kick he received from the Zerox. He was told that the feeling would wear off in a matter of minutes. Nodding in understanding, he then gave a stretch of his arms and legs before exiting the room behind the doctors. Doing so resulted in his mother rushing toward him and attacking him with an embrace. He had to remember her reasons for being so worried about him and casually went to reassure her that he was perfectly alright; the doctors even saying so. Now that he passed the HALF process and had his code core, he could head for HQ. An escort was offered, but Hitomi insisted on taking her son their herself to which he didn't mind and knew she wouldn't take no for an answer anyway. Before they would depart though, Satoru needed to pack some stuff as well as his doctors needing to provide him some essentials for him and his new body. After that was taken care of, he slipped on a long coat and also decided not to wear his protective head gear so he could look somewhat civil. All set, he met his mother at the transport station and both went through security to take specific pods that would teleport them to Headquarters. Once through, they stood on their own individual platforms and Hitomi gave the word before they were both teleported.

So here they were, at the final moments of this battle. She could feel it, she could tell this last couple of slashes would end this whole battle. She had gotten to him, or it whatever the gender. She was ready to take this cores life and become the person she was meant to be. She had done her damage and been hurt as well. They went blow for blow and in the end she could respect it. They gave her a core that fit her, but she would never accept it. How dare they do her like this? A monster for a core? But in the end, they were all monsters, and she just had a better ally to defeat them. "I wonder..." She said as the monster came charging towards her, hand on her blade hilt, strong and true. "Were you always a monster?" She asked as if the monster would understand. She stood, waiting for the monster to come towards her, blood dripping from the monsters eye and tail. She had gotten her target, and she felt her attack was justified. She was ready, and watched it roll towards her. The monster thought it could feint her. She was ready to strike at the monster, she didn't care what it decided it wanted to do, her blade went out in-front of her, striking in six directions that possible attacks could come from. She struck where she thought the head might be, striking then where the tail would come, then where she thought the monsters other eye might be and the last slashes struck at the body of the monster. Even if she didn't move, even if the monster dug into her, the monster would be dead ,and she would come out victorious. She didn't move, she just struck out like a child who had lost their way. Even if she had missed every target, she would've hit something, and that's all she needed.

Turn 8
Slypner's Attack x6: 15 - 10 = 5 (100 - 5 = 95% Defence Chance) (-15% From Stamina = 80% Chance)

As the Scraptor attempted to feint and strike out at the woman, it was foiled yet again--just like most of its other strikes. It had managed to land a hit on her before, but it had gone downhill quickly after. The Scraptor, after attempting its final strike, realized very quickly that it had lost too much blood. Its vision was beginning to blur, and it could no longer think straight. It tried its hardest to take this woman down with it, but it couldn't--she was too fast--too strong--too...too damn resilient. The beast gnashed its jaws as she began assaulting it once more. Her first attack went for its head, and as she chopped toward it, the Scraptor rolled to the side, avoiding the strike, though it almost fell over from the swift movement. The second attack went for its tail, and this time, it was already dazed by the blurred vision and quick movements, and it cost it. The sword bit deep, tearing into the already existing wound and ripping it open even further, almost completely removing the tail. It exploded in a torrent of blood from the wound, and it coated the ground around it completely. It stumbled a few more steps before its legs gave out on it, and as it hit the ground and lazily blinked towards the woman it shook its head from side to side. "We...are not...the monsters. Human." It growled, and as it finished speaking, its body broke down in a brilliant blue light, turning into strings of letters and numbers and symbols, swirling around the Scraptor until it was completely transformed into the swirling code. And as it finished this transformation the code lingered for a moment before it rocketed forward and hit the woman's visor, seeping into it and altering it in accordance to the Scraptor's body, slightly changing it somehow.

When the woman awoke, she would be told about the Baiter headquarters and the people who were there, gathering who had only just graduated from the entrance like she had done. They would tell her of the tournament, but the unfortunate aspect that she had not made it in time to take part. However, she could meet the other baiters and gather with people of her similar level to train with and to make friends with there--hopefully.

She was not upset that she had won, if more she was estatic. What caught her off was the talking of the beast. She had won, but as she sheathed her digital blade, she shook her head. "A monster knows another monster" She said as the digital wind blew through her hair. Of course, it was all a dream, a dream she had over come. Her visor became clawed and chipped, yellow tinted to match the beast that now inhabitated it. She stared at the destroyed Shinjuku as it began to fade, gasping as she woke up. Her heart raced, and she wondered if it was all real. She felt her visor, moving her fingers over the newly crafted visor. Was this the fate of all items she would bind? She nodded as she was sent off to the base. She said nothing really as she left, she simply went.

It was Ilya’s first time out alone. The sights sounds and smells were almost overwhelming for him, but he couldn’t help but be excited. Swinging his legs back and forth while he sat on the train, Ilya was completely alone. He hummed, and sat on his hands as to not make too much of a scene, but on the inside, he was bouncing up and down. He was going to be a Baiter! A Baiter who could stand up and protect his mom, and protect his friends. There was nothing that could stamp out his excitement, even for a small moment.

The train shot through the Russian countryside, and Ilya could see the terrain slowly melt away from the cold air of his home country, to the bright Eastern Asian feel of China. It was something he had never seen before, so he couldn’t help but stand up in his seat to look out the window. A grin spread on his face like jam on toast as he watched the scenery fly by his face. The towns, cities, and villages that flew by were so cool, he couldn’t help but say it out loud.
“Wooooow!” He exclaimed in his child-like voice. “So cool!” The grin remained as the train slowed to a stop, picking up new passengers, then took off again. A young girl sat next to him on the train, someone who he had never seen before. She was definitely older than him, perhaps in high school, but that didn’t stop him from trying to make conversation. “Hi!” Ilya said, smiling at the young girl. “Going somewhere special?”

For a moment, the girl remained silent, simply watching Ilya through slightly concerned eyes. But then, she smiled, relaxing into her seat. “I am. I’m going to see my mom at the hospital.” When Ilya looked worried, the girl quickly raised her hands to calm him, “It’s okay! She’s just gone into labor. It’s supposed to be twins.”

Taking in a deep breath, Ilya smiled back at the girl. She was clearly nervous, but not scared. This comforted Ilya immensely, so he leaned back and continued swinging his feet in his seat.
“I’m talking the H.A.L.F. exam today.” he said in a casual tone, shoving his hands under his thighs to keep them warm.

The girl leaned back in her seat as well, crossing her legs as she watched the young boy. She had pretty, short brown hair and big brown eyes. She had pretty, yet plain features, more than likely not standing out very much in school. But she did seem like she was happy, and that was all that mattered to Ilya. “It seems that both of our lives are taking a turn for the extreme, today.” The girl said, a soft smile gracing her lips. “I hope that both are for the better.”

Ilya nodded, excited and happy to see where his life would take him.
“I do too!” Ilya was an only child, and could never imagine ever having siblings. His mother was a single woman, and never really showed any interest in men, while his father was never in the picture. He never saw an issue with it, his mother always doing the best she could, and succeeding, as far as he was aware. He was happy with it. But the thought of expanding that family… It made him smile. He thought of the girls at the labs, the ones who had disappeared a year prior. They were the closest he had ever had to having siblings, or even extended family. And, to be honest, even now he loved them. That was why he was doing this, why he was going in to take his Half exam. To find and protect what little family he had.

When the two parted ways, Ilya remained behind, his destination a few more stops away. He wasn’t excited to see her go, but he wished her luck none the less, and remained quiet through the rest of his train ride. When they finally arrived to his station, Ilya popped up out of his seat and ran excitedly to his exit. This was it! He was finally taking his first step to becoming a Baiter. Taking the first step, on his own, to the rest of his life. Ilya couldn’t be any more excited for this to start. He was going to be able to protect his mother, explore the world, and help create a new world for the people he loved to live in. Without AI’s, without those cells and labs people were kept in… Without suffering. Ilya knew, deep down, that his ideals were naive, but he wouldn’t let that stop him. He was eleven years old, and ready to live his life according to those naive ways. Even if it meant it would be his downfall.

So, Ilya stepped out of the train and walked up to the Shanghai Base. It was large and unwelcoming, but he wasn’t scared. People bustled and rushed around him, all speaking various languages he’d never even heard of before… That didn’t scare him either. What scared him was the sudden realization that he had no idea where to go. His big, almond shaped eyes scanned the world around him, taking in everything he saw. There was a lot, compared to Russia. It was warmer, for one, and Ilya soon found himself sweating slightly. For two, it was brighter than he had expected it to be. With how many fluorescent lights there were in the city, Ilya’s eyes had to take time to fully adjust. Ilya wandered the halls for a while, trying to decipher where exactly it was that he was supposed to be, eventually making it to the waiting room where he was supposed to talk to the receptionist about his test.

That was when a body collided with his, lifting him up into a spinning hug before Ilya could do anything about it. “Tiny man!” Said the owner of the arms that wrapped around him. Pulling back, he saw one of the very girls who he was there to see again. Thre, a thirteen year old girl with big green eyes and dark brown hair. She was a rough and tumble girl, and always has been, ever since they met. Thre was an unusual girl, one who he had met in the lab while wandering the halls aimlessly when he was much younger.

“Thre!” Ilya said, his voice raising in excitement. “It’s been so long! I didn’t know you were going to be here!” He said, pulling her close, hugging her with as much strength as he could muster. It really had been a long time, and he missed her more than he thought.

Pulling back, Thre reached out and ruffled his hair, messing it up even further. It was clear that she had missed him too, and was happy to see him. “The same could be said about you.” Thre blinked, then tilted her head. “What are you doing here anyway?” She asked.

Ilya grinned, looking rather proud of himself,
“I’m here to take the half!”

“Sweet! Me too!” A nurse stepped out of the room, calling for Thre to begin her test. A twinge of nervous excitement shot through the small boy as he heard them call for her. “I’ll see you after, right?”

          Ilya nodded,
“Yes! You will!” Oh, he was so excited, he could barely contain it. “Good luck!”

Of course, Thre grinned and waved Ilya’s comment off. “Luck? I got this!”

          Ilya laughed in response,
“Of course you do.” He said, finally watching her go. Now it was his turn. Walking up to the receptionist, he stood on his toes to see over the counter, gripping the edge of the table to keep his balance. “Ilya Utkin! I’m here for my Half exam?”

The receptionist opened, then closed her mouth again, shocked to see someone so young there to take the life changing, and sometimes deadly, test. “Of course.” She said, looking at her computer screen to confirm his appointment. The color drained from her face when she saw his name on the screen, but she knew she couldn’t keep him from doing what he was there to do. “The, ah… The doctor will be right with you.”

Easily picking up on her fear, Ilya let go of the counter and landed back down so his feet were planted firmly on the ground, then reached into his pocket. He could tell that the receptionist was scared, so he felt like he needed to do something to comfort her. From his pocket, he produced a green lollipop, to which he got back up onto his tipy-toes and reached over the counter to hand her the candy.
“So you feel better.” He said, giving her a smile.

The receptionist smiled, taking the piece of candy gratefully, then sitting back down. She placed it on her desk, in a cup that held her many pens and pencils. “Thank you. That does help. Oh,” She said, before seeing the doctor walk into the room. “It seems the doctor will see you now. Would you like me to take your bag? You’ll get it back after your exam.”

          Ilya shook his head.
“I need it. I’ll see you soon, though!” He grinned, then following the doctor back to where he would be taking his test.

The doctor looked rather uncomfortable with Ilya being so young, but didn’t protest. It was his job to create Baiters who were able and determined to pass the test. If Ilya was this such a person, there would be no reason to deny him entrance. “Do you have the item you wish to use as your container?” The doctor asked, giving Ilya a pointed look.

Ilya nodded, producing an average sized yoyo from his pocket.
“Yup!” He said, handing it over. It was a bright blue yoyo, with normal string, and a plastic casing. Bright purple in color, with a blue patterned center. Overall, very average looking, though something that Ilya seemed to have a strong attachment to.

The doctor nodded, showing him through a final door, then to the place where he would be taking the test. It wasn’t at all like the child was imagining, a simple gurney where most surgeries took place, or where patients were examined in the labs. Ilya looked up to the doctor, curious of his next instructions. “Lay down here, and we’ll give you the gas that makes you fall asleep. From there, you will take your test to become a Baiter.” The doctor bent down, looking Ilya in the eye, his voice taking a very serious tone. “Are you sure you want to be doing this? This is a very adult decision to be making. One that you can’t turn back from.”

Ilya thought for a moment, searching the eyes of the Doctor, only finding sincerity and fear behind them. It was clear that the doctor didn’t want to do this, but if it was what he really wanted to do, he wouldn’t deny it from the child. Ilya nodded quickly, excited that he was finally able to take such a step in his life. Standing up with a sigh, the Doctor gripped the yoyo and placed it on the table where it was going to take on the AI, then readied the gas. “Once you’re out, you’re going to have a battle for your life. Stay alive, and win, kid.” The doctor said, an air of seriousness around him.

Ilya could only nod, then climb onto the gurney and leaned back. He was ready as he could ever be, both excited and scared that he was going to die. But he also knew, above all things, that he was going to create the world for his mother that he always wanted. One where she wouldn’t have to worry anymore.

And with that… He was out.

A beauty outside,
a beast inside

Geez it's so nosy here.” Alley said with a grimace. It was her first time in a city and there was so much going on, she had to stand for a good ten minutes to let it all in. Cars going past at speeds she didn't believe, making this weird loud noise when they were sitting at a spot for too long. She heard dumb a** being said more times than she could count. It was an odd place to say the least, very different from the lab or the forest. She had spent her entire life in a lab as a test rat, or wolf as the case being. She looked like a normal person, but inside her blood were small robots, too small to be seen by the naked eye, that altered her DNA and it mixed it with traits that of a wolf. Her muscles were stronger, her senses were heightened. How it was possible she couldn't tell you, it was just a life she always knew. She escaped though, with another creature from the labs, an alien. They had seperated though because Alley wanted to look into something. She was getting a few glances from the people, it might have been because she was walking the concrete streets barefooted like it was the most natural thing in the world. She didn't like shoes. She thought the rest of her attire was normal though, shorts and a slightly worn out green tank top. She had been traveling a long time though, her feet and legs were dirty, but she didn't care. She could clean up when she was done. Or maybe it was her pure white hair that reached far down her back, one small braid hanging over her shoulder and resting against the right of her chest. Who knew why they were staring.

She stood at her spot for a while, looking around before spotting something she had noticed with Katya had always worn. There were people standing around a building with earrings, a lot of them actually. Was one of them wearing an earring on their nose? Having them on your ears seemed odd, but a lot of the female scientists she saw always had them on their ears, not once did she see them have any where else on their faces. Alley made her way toward the store, knowing what she was going to do. As she got closer to the group of people, she noticed a sent coming off them. It was heavy, almost choking. She wrinkled her nose in disgust as she started past the people, realizing it was coming off of them. Dear Lord couldn't they tell how they smelled? One of the men looked at her, giving her a hard glare. “Got a problem girly?” The guy asked her. Alley glared back at him. “Yea, you stink, I could smell you four feet away.” She told him, before turning away, honestly it should have been obvious what her problem was. The scent was so revolting. “ What you say to me?” The man asked, grabbing her shoulder roughly. Alley twisted her face, snapping at the man with her teeth. Her teeth weren't the same either due to the nanos, she had two sets of canines, top and bottom. They grew longer and sharper when she was angry or about to fight. She was getting angry because this guy was making her late, sure Thre was already doing her HALF already. Alley let out a warning growl at the man, an animal one. The man jumped back, looking at her in horror at the sight he was seeing, the people around him doing the same. Alley calmed down a bit, still glaring at the man before turning away. So much for trying to make a normal impression when she got the city. She went inside the building, finding the smell from the men was just as strong in here. She needed to get what she wanted and get out. She hated the smell already, for more reasons then it's scent.

Inside was loud music, metal if she remembered what kind it was. There were drawings all over the place, some in actual frames, some pinned to the wall. The place was odd. Was this where Katya got hers? Alley was viewing Katya in a different light. “Can I help you?” A bored sounding female voice came up. Alley looked at her and flinched at the sight of her. The woman was all black, with piercings all over her face. There was one on each of her eyebrows, a chain going from the eyebrow to her nose. She wasn't sure how to talk to the woman, she just pointed at her ear. The woman raised the chained eyebrow. “You're wanting a piercing?” Alley nodded clearing her throat. “Yea... just one on my ear though.” She said slowly. “Nowhere else.” She so didn't want a chain going from her nose to her eyebrow. It was ridiculous. At least to her. The woman sighed like it was the most boring thing she heard. “Eric! There's some weird girl here wanting an ear piercing.”

Alley looked at the woman in shock. She was weird? How was she weird when this woman had metal coming out of every part of her face? She looked over when a curtain of beads opened, showing a man with tan skin, with drawings on his arms, some on his chest from what she could see through the opening of his shirt. He was also wearing an eye patch, whether it was for looks or because he actually needed it was beyond her though. To say his wardrope wasn't interesting would be a lie though, he had gloves with with a small bit of fabric at the bottom of them, a jacket with the sleeves only reaching his elbows, a white shirt that honestly barely covered his torso. He had his hair pulled back in a ponytail and had a bandanna on his head. He looked at Alley, raising his eyebrow at her. “You're wanting a piercing.”

She nodded her head. “It's to celebrate my freedom. I'm heading toward the HALF process.” The man looked surprised, looking her over. She looked at him back, waiting for him to say something. He seemed to find what he wanted and motioned her to follow him. Alley followed him behind the curtain of beads, seeing a chair in the middle of the room. “That's unsettling.” Alley said quickly without thinking. The man just chuckled as he went to a drawer and opened it, showing different kind of earrings sitting inside. “First time huh? Don't worry, I'll try to make it easy on ya. Choose an earring, it's on the house.” He said, pointing to the earrings.

Alley walked over, looking over all of the ear jewelry. There was plenty of them, some with gems that she recognized from her tablet books. What caught her eye was a gold metal pendant, with a diamond in it. She picked it up, feeling the weight of it before turning to the man. “This one.” She said. He took the earring and pointed on the chair. “Okay, lay down and we'll get them in.”

Alley raised an eyebrow, looking at the man, before slowly making her way to the chair and sitting down on it, but she didn't lay back on it. The man didn't seem surprised by her way of settling into the chair. In a few minutes, there was a growl and a yelp before Alley suddenly started to walk away, holding her now pierced right ear. “Okay that's all.” Dear God she didn't know it hurt to get an ear pierced. The man chuckled, coming over the shock he had just experienced then called out. “If you want the other one pierced, feel free to come back.” Alley flinced, unsure if she wanted her other one pierced or not. One seemed to be enough to her. She needed to head to the headquarters before the scientists found her. Once outside, she made a run for the large building that held the HALF test, dodging with ease through the crowd.

She run through the doors, a familiar scent hitting her. She froze for a second, sniffing around. But the secritary was eating a sucker and it was causing it to make it hard to figure out what the scent was. Alley just shook her head and walked up to the woman. “I'm here for the test.”

The woman looked at her before turning toward her computer. “Name?” She asked her.

                                                      Alley.”

The woman sat there, waiting for a few seconds before looking at Alley expentantly before realizing she wasn't going to say more. “I need a full name ma'am.”

That is my full name. I wasn't exactly from a loving family where they give you three names. I just got one so they could say something other than 'hey you'” Alley said, crossing her arms. She was getting a little irritated. She wanted to get this done before it was too late. The woman frowned a bit but nodded, typing something in the computer before pointing at a man that had walked into the room. “The doctor will see you.”

Alley nodded and walked up to the man, who gave her a friendly smile before turning away and lead the way into another room, one that made Alley uncomfortable at the similarity of it to the ones at the lab. “What will you be using for your Core?” He asked her. Alley thought for a second before taking a deep breath. “The nanos in my blood.” She said. The doctor looked a little shocked but nodded, setting her up. “Please lie down, I'll be giving you a gas that will make you unconscious and you will begin your test. Let me know when you're ready.”

Alley lied down and nodded at the doctor who put the mask on her, she could slightly smell the gas but her last thought wondering how Thre was doing.

The Kabal was used to the idea of this already--it knew as long as it had been imprisoned, that one day it would be released in order to fight against a baiter. It would either be freed of its eternal prison through death, or it would be put into a more...mobile prison within a baiter. Though, it heard that most baiters ended up discarding the cores that they started with anyways...so it had very little left to hope or live for. It merely was...and it was likely not going to be much longer. It felt itself being pushed into the YoYo that the young child carried, and when it entered into the human's body, it felt...strange. It was dark and muddled, as if everything around it, including itself was threatening to cease to be...like the A.I. was nowhere at all. Perhaps it wasn't. Perhaps it really was lost in the endless abyss. Gone forever. Dead. However, when it began to wander the vast expanse of nothing, it began to pick up on small little things--signs of life within the darkness. Though the signs were small...childlike. It couldn't be. They wouldn't let such a young boy take the HALF would they? When the Kabal finally found his opponent, his worst fears were brought to life. The Kabal had hated killing children. It couldn't figure out why, really, as it had slaughtered many humans...but children felt so wrong to kill. The A.I. slammed its staff-like weapon on the ground to announce itself and nodded toward the child that it had found and approached. It was time for battle. Whether or not the Kabal like it. It had a job to do.

It looked at the opponent, the little boy still barely conscious in this world of darkness. He seemed so...sweet. How could they have let someone this young enter the HALF process? The A.I. just couldn't understand it. The Kabal figured that they would have seen someone so youthful and full of possibility and let them live their lives...not throw them to the wolves. But, it had been the boy's choice too...and the A.I. was sure that he had a reason to fight. So, the Kabal would test this child's resolution. It would see...just what lay behind the facade that was this child's face. No time--there was no time for mercy in the real world--he would strike right away. He charged forward toward the boy, raising the massive club-like weapon and bringing down the heavy end toward Ilya's head.

The Uni-Blaster was revved up and ready to go. the Uni-Blaster was jazzed for battle and pumped for destruction. It wanted to fill up its engine with NOS and just blast down a runway full of baiters and shoot them all in the face while motorcycles jumped hundreds of feet in the air and exploded into rainbows. YES! The Uni-Blaster was ready to SHREEEEDDDDD. They were moving the container that it had been housed in, so at the very least, it would get to do some killing soon. Who cares if it sat in a prison so long that it might have developed some sort of mental disease...who cares if its wheel was slightly flat, and it was starting to rust a little bit. WHO CARED! It felt its body being injected into its host, and it immediately sought out the container for its energy, which, oddly enough, ended up being essentially EVERYWHERE. It was everywhere at once within this human being, like it was being split into code, but instead its code was just divvied up between the cells of blood. It kind of felt...RADICAL! Immediately after the thought projection of itself formed within her mind, the Uni-Blaster knew it was go time. The engine roared as the single wheel spun out on the non-existent ground and the unicycle death machine blasted through the mindscape of its host, looking for her, seeking her out...FINDING HER. AWWWW YEAH, she was there! It smelled her. It didn't smell like oil and smoke, it was a LIE. HOO RAH! It found the woman's heat signature and it raced toward it, wasting no time in finding her so they could get this clash of titans on the ROAD. WOO!

When the Uni-Blaster finally found the girl, it noticed just how DAMN FINE SHE WAS! YEAHHHHH! It hit the jackpot. Such a fine young thing like this, she was perfect. He might just throw himself on the side of the road and kill himself if it meant living inside of THIS. MM! The Uni-Blaster revved its engines as the darkness seemed to ebb around it. She was gaining consciousness., that was for sure. Which was great. It wanted to see this girl in action. Would she be strong? Would she be helpless. WHO CARED?! SHE WAS HOTTTTTTT. The Uni-Blaster was ready! READY! It charged forward, its singular wheel spinning before it launched forward, aiming precisely as it was coming toward Alley and it focused with everything that it had. It levelled its canon arm and it let loose a small, compact explosive from the end, aiming to plant the thing right in her chest and blow up those luscious bosoms.

Ilya looked around the room he woke up in. There was nothing in it! Just blackness and a vast emptiness that made him feel slightly uncomfortable. Was this what it was like inside his mind? Was this what it was like to sleep, but be conscious. Aware of every little thing your mind made up. “Woooah….” he said, spinning around and walking forward. Slowly, things did start to form, though. There wasn’t too much, but there was enough to look at. It looked strangely like the halls of the labs his mother worked at, long and dark, dimly lit with hardly a variance to the walls at all. Ilya seemed relaxed, rather than spooked by this fact. It was a place he had been many times before, though he wasn’t very pleased with that being the place where the test was taking place. Ilya frowned as he continued to turn around, taking in everything around him.

Then he heard something behind him. The sound of someone stomping, or slamming something on the ground. Turning around, he found his opponent standing there, unsure of what to do. Ilya couldn’t stop the grin that formed on his face as he saw it. It looked so cool! With the staff, and the heavy armor. Ilya was excited, not being phased in the slightest when the thing dashed towards him in an attack. The weapon the Kabal held was raised high above his head, ready to smash Ilya’s face in. Fortunately, though, Ilya was quick on his feet, able to dodge out of the way by rolling to the side, then jumping forward.

This was so cool! There was so much going on that Ilya wasn’t sure what to take in first. The Kabal was huge, and had these weird tendrils coming from his head, almost like tentacles. Whatever it was, it was really cool! So much so, that Ilya couldn’t help himself when he jumped forward, he jumped onto the Kabal’s back and pulled on the things that confused him so.
“What are these?! They’re so cool!” He said, pulling on them even more to get a better look. Soon, he realized he probably shouldn’t be doing this, so jumped off with a strong kick, pulling off a backflip before landing.

Ilya fudged the landing, slipping and falling onto his butt before shooting back up and pulling a singular yoyo from his pocket. Now the real fun began! Ilya smiled at the thing before him, the thing that he read he was supposed to fight. He was more excited than he expected, even though he knew he could die at any moment during this battle. Hell, he could have died when the octopus man attacked him in the labs. If he was going to die, it would have been then.

So Ilya pulled the string on his finger and let the yoyo drop, pulling it back up just before it hit the ground. True to how yoyo’s work, it spun down, uncoiling the string as it did so, then coiled back up into the same position as it started in. Now, all he had to do was attack and win. He could do this. Looking up at the Kabal with his cat like eyes, his first attack launched, hurling the yoyo at the Kabal with all his strength. He had to win! He had to. For his mom, for his friends… For his future.

The yoyo hurled at the Kabal, spinning furiously as he directed it to hit the thing in the face. Next, he pulled it back, spinning around and making the yoyo change directions, spinning the other way in another direct attack to the abdomen of his opponent. His attacks were in quick successions, one right after the other in bursts of speed and glory. There was no way that Ilya was going to let himself lose this fight.

Turn 2

Ilya's Attack x3: 10 - 20 = 1 (100 - 1 = 99% Defense chance)

The Kabal fully intended to smite the child before him before he could move--to end his little existence before he had to feel the pain of death...it was horribly sad, but it was more merciful than breaking his limbs or making it slow like some A.I. Cores might have done to the child. He would put him to rest, and mourn the death of his tiny little body...perhaps he would not take control of it after all, but allow himself to merely die in obscurity beside him. But, as the staff came down, the child rolled to the side in a blur, and then jumped away from the point he had rolled to, disappearing from the Kabal's sight in a burst of speed that the A.I. had not expected in any way. Then, suddenly the Kabal felt something tugging at the tubes that circulated his lubricating fluid throughout his body to make sure his parts were cool and oiled. When he heard the child's voice exclaiming about how cool they were, the Kabal's eyes widened and he began to shake his body left to right, trying to move him off of his body. "H-Hey! Don't...don't...damnit don't touch those! They're important you freaking whelp!" He grumbled, reaching up and patting around on his back, looking for the little weasel, but then he was on his face..his damn face! Then, when the brat kicked off of his head, he did it so forcefully, that it the Kabal didn't follow the force, leaning back as he jumped, to mitigate the force, it might have hurt.

When the child landed, the Kabal followed its descent, and as the Yoyo came smashing toward its face, the Kabal brought its staff up swiftly and knocked it aside, feeling the force of the strike and actually appreciating the fact that this child knew what he was doing. With a spin of his little body, he changed the direction of the yoyo and sent it instead flying toward the abdomen. As the yoyo approached the Kabal, it brought a heavy arm down and swatted it away, the clang of metal on metal ringing out through the halls that had begun to form around them. "You need weapons to fight with, not toys, you fool! This is what you came in here with to defeat A.I.? Why would you do something like this?" It grumbled, pissed that the boy was risking his life on something as stupid as a damn yoyo...though, it was hard to admit that the child's toy felt like it could actually do some damage. The kid was good--but a little scolding might help him to consider the ludicrous nature of the idea that he was fighting a battle that grown men had trouble fighting. The only way the kid would learn exactly how foolish he was being was if the Kabal taught him. And the best way to teach him was to show him just how dangerous they could be! The staff came whirling up, spinning between the Kabal's hands before he leapt forward, bringing the heavy end swooping in from the side to crush the little kid's ribs.

Alley looked around her surroundings, seeing that she was out in a forest. She could almost feel her ears twitch as she listened past the rustling of the brown trees and grass, there was even bird song. She was standing on a road though, it seemed to cut through the forest. She sniffed, not getting anything other than nature. Was this a trick of some sort? Was she suppose to fight the gas or what? She was about to call out until she heard something different. She turned her ear toward the sound, gears, a wheel driving on the road. She glanced down the road, seeing a black mass coming toward her at a great speed before stopping a ways away from her. She completely turned toward it, looking down at her nose at the thing. It didn't seem that scary. The experiments at the lab were much freakier. Besides, it looked like it wasn't sure how to approach her, or it was just sizing her up.

It revved it's engine before tearing toward her, pointing it's gun arm at her and fired. Alley moved quickly, the sound rattling her very good ears. The small explosive went past her, hearing perfectly the air coming behind it as it flew past. It started, no stopping now. She felt her teeth grow, as well as her nails. There wasn't really a feeling, it was like a sensation you knew was happening, like bending your knee. Her fingers thinned a bit and curved as the nails grew to long black sharp claws, her canines half the usual length they used to be. She turned toward the AI, letting out a growl before launching her own attack.

She ran toward the Blaster, thinking about where to hit first. She could try and slash his tire, but he still had the damn cannon. It would be better to make it unable to actually shoot her before it become a problem. She slashed her claws toward it's cannon arm twice, before slashing her other hand toward it's neck. She ran around it, getting behind it before charging again, aiming her claws toward it's side, lowering her body so her other hand could go after it's tire. Might as well try to slow it down anyways.

10 - 15 = 1 = 99% Chance

The Kabal was an interesting fellow. He seemed to be somewhat concerned for the small boy, which was an odd concept for Ilya to grasp. An AI concerned for a human child’s well being? Why, that was so unheard of that Ilya almost fell to the floor. However, the fight had to go on.

When Ilya attacked with his yoyo, the Kabal easily swatted it away, causing it to crash on the floor with a loud crash, the sound echoing through the empty hallway. Ilya pouted, flicking his wrist so the yoyo would shoot back to him for another attack.
”But this is a weapon!” Ilya said, flipping his hand so he could bounce the yoyo a few times. It was a special yoyo, one that he had gotten from the labs where his mother worked. It was reinforced, though not heavily so. It could do serious damage to flesh, though he wasn’t sure about how much damage it could do to the AI. ”And I’m doing this because I have to. It’s what I know how to use.” The Kabal continued to grumble, twirling it’s staff-thing like a baton before swinging at him, aiming for the ribs.

Being so fast, Ilya managed to, instead of dodge, grab ahold of the club and use it as a springboard to jump on his opponents face. Again.
”Would that thing be considered a better weapon? Is it because it’s stronger, or because you know how to use it well?” Ilya wanted to know why the Kabal didn’t like his weapon of choice. Did he know that he was going to be placed in such weapon? Or toy, rather? Rather than before, where Ilya flung the yoyo at his opponent, he tried to smash it into his head. It was a risky move, but one that Ilya was willing to make. It was how he knew how to fight. Jump on top of the thing, do damage, take off again. And while he was up there, he was curious about another thing.

”I never actually introduced myself, you know.” Ilya said, bouncing back and off the things head. Ilya readied his next attack, rolling out the yoyo almost until it hit the ground, then swinging it up so that he had a ready projectile attached to a string. ”My name is Ilya. What’s yours?” Then he flung it, swinging the metal yoyo at his opponent once more, hoping that at least this time it would connect. The yoyo flew through the air, going for the head once again. Ilya felt it appropriate that he would try to go for the head as often as he could, as it was a vital spot on most things. The head was a nice place to aim.

So, Ilya used his arm to redirect the yoyo once more, making it swing in an upwards direction, then he grabbed the string and had it slam back down onto the things head once more. Ilya felt back for trying to slap the thing around, knowing that it showed concern. Why else would it asky why it was using a yoyo, telling him to use a better weapon? It seemed frustrated, too. Or… Was that something else? He couldn’t quite tell. There was something there that the Kabal wasn’t trying to outwardly show. It made Ilya curious, perhaps something he could talk to it about later? Was there a later? Or did he have to kill his opponent forever? Ilya didn’t like that idea, furrowing his brow as he threw his final attack.

Turn 3

Ilya's Attack x3: 10 - 20 = 1 (100 - 1 = 99% Defense chance)

When the Kabal had successfully defended against Ilya's attack, the boy pouted like the child that he was, and the Kabal wanted to punch his stupid face for it. Damnit, they were in the middle of a battle--you couldn't waste time on pouting about a failed attempt. You had to use that failure and learn from it. Find out the opponent's weakness and exploit it! After the pouting face had disappeared, the child argued the validity of the yoyo as a weapon, stating that it was what he was using because it was what he knew how to use. The kid was, actually, pretty damn good at bouncing the toy up and down on that string...though, really, how hard could it be? Just because you could roll a ball on a string didn't mean you could use it as a weapon. The Kabal bet it could use the yoyo just as effectively as that child did. He was sure he could just fine. Though, when he looked at the little loop that Ilya had his hand through, and then looked inquisitively at his own large fingers, he decided that it was likely not even possible for his fat fingers to make it through the loop in the first place.

But this was no time for these thoughts, damnit! The Kabal watched as Ilya did not even need to fully evade the strike that he threw towards him, but instead, the little creep jumped up onto the staff and sprung off of it, flying directly at the Kabal's face. As Ilya finished his questions about the weapon, the Kabal's eyes would narrow and an annoyed, but contemplative expression would pass over him. His body relaxed noticeably, as he thought, all of the battle intent in the A.I. gone for a moment. "Well...erm....I suppose because I know how to use it better. Really, I guess the only reason I would consider it more of a weapon is because people have been using these as weapons for ages...but...the yoyo you have...well, could probably be used in very versatile ways. If you could strengthen it enough it could....jesus, kid, this isn't time to be talking! We're enemies! Stop this nonsense and fight me!" He growled, about to swat him off of his face, but the kid was already listening to his request, and he slammed the yoyo down toward the Kabal's face. The Kabal's hand shot up instantly, his battle reflexes returning in a moment's notice as he immediately tossed the kid using his grip on the child's arm. Though Ilya was already springing off of the Kabal's face anyways, so he merely continued with that momentum and landed safely on the ground.

It was then that the child actually introduced himself. Dropping the Yoyo and then taking the time to mention his name--Ilya. It was actually kind of beautiful. It had a ring to it that the Kabal truly enjoyed. Ilya...how nice. Then he asked the million dollar question. What was the Kabal's name? The Kabal stood rigid for a moment, before it cleared its throat. "Well...I don't exactly have one. We don't need things such as names. We act as beings--there are many different designs of being within our race, and each type of our species is classified as whatever they are made to be. I was made as a Kabal, as are many other of my kind. We are Kabal. So I suppose that would be my name, technically..." There was a tone of sadness when he compared his name to the child's. Ilya was beautiful. Kabal was...well, it was a name that everyone that looked like him had. It was not a true name...but they had never had need of it...and nobody had ever asked him such a question. It was then that the child shot the yoyo at him once again, aiming it for the Kabal's head one more, and the Kabal bashed it out of the way with the back of his hand once again. "Are you just trying to throw me off kilter with this pointless banter!? A fight is no place for these damned pleasantries." He growled. Then, even after he had bashed the damn thing away, the child managed to redirect it back, shooting it once more toward his head in no time. The kid actually did have some incredible control over the weapon...interesting. This time the Kabal ducked low and shifted to the side, avoiding the strike and then charging forward. His goal was to throw his entire body weight into a tackle that would strike the child and then carry him, body and all right into the wall. This would fracture some ribs and work wonders to slow the bugger down...he hoped.

Turn 3
10 - 15 = 1 = 99% Chance

Ilya was incredibly happy that the Kabal was taking the time to talk to him about his weapon. He used a club, one that looked more advanced than anything Ilya ever seen a neanderthal use. Or anything any of the people in the labs used, if they could get their hands on one. It was always the simple weapons, things that they could get their hands on easily. Ilya smiled at the Kabal, pleased with his responses. ”I have strengthened it. I might want to add something to it, though...” Ilya said idly, looking at it for a quick flash before jumping off his opponent and landing safely on the ground. He wasn’t very pleased about the Kabal getting angry at him, though. That made him slightly upset. Either way, he felt the need to ready his weapon once again.

However, when the Kabal said that he had no name, Ilya got visibly sad. No name? How could he function with no name? That was absurd. Everyone had something. Even him, even Alley and Thre. They all had names too. Ilya pouted as he listened to the Kabal speak, going on about how he has no name because he wasn’t unique enough, or wasn’t his own being to be able to have one. The guy sounded sad, and that made Ilya sad. At least until Ilya’s attacks went through, and the Kabal got mad again. Pleasantries? But Ilya was just trying to get to know him. It was what people did, right?? The Kabal charged at Ilya, running forward to jam Ilya into the wall, full force. However, Ilya managed to jump out of the way in time, rolling to the left, right out of the way. This time, Ilya decided to shake up his attacks by attacking with the yoyo before jumping on the Kabal.

While the AI charged forward, Ilya swung his weapon of choice at his opponent, slamming it in very much the same way as his last attack, aiming for the head why the Kabal’s back was turned.
”Kabal isn’t a suitable name for you, sir.” Ilya said, making his decision, whether the Kabal liked it or not. Ilya was going to give him another name. ”How does Ioann sound?” He asked, then immediately shaking his head. ”No, that doesn’t work for you.” Ilya gave pause, thinking about the name as he made his next attack. The yoyo swung around, using his body to direct the momentum into the wall, then bounce back onto the Kabals face. ”No, no. Fyodor?” Ilya made a face that said he disliked that one, as well. There wasn’t much luck in finding a good name for the AI he wanted to make friends with. All of the names he thought of were bogus, or ugly. None of them fit the Kabal in the way that Ilya fit himself.

Ilya had no other choice but to attack again while he thought, finally jumping on the kabal’s back and pulling his yoyo back into his hand. This time, he would try something new - Pull on one of those thingies on the back of his head. He was curious of what it would do, the Kabal never having answered him. Whether that was a successful hit or not, Ilya jumped backwards once again, landing rather gracefully, then tilted his head, thinking of another name for the Kabal.
”Gavriil?” Ilya gave pause, thinking about this name for a moment. Gavriil meant ‘strength from God,’ something that the Kabal certainly would be if given to Ilya. And the AI DID descend from the skies, so to speak, so they could be a really strange gift from God, though Ilya wasn’t quite sure how that would be the case. ”I like Gavriil. It fits you. It’s a nice name.” The name was pronounced gah-vree-EEL, and that was exactly how Ilya pronounced it. It was a good, strong Russian name, and Ilya liked that. Hopefully the Kabal would like it, too.
