Sara hadn't expected to startle the Grimm at all; she was surprised when he stiffened at her arm and she almost withdrew it. But when he relaxed, she set her weight back on it, letting it rest gently across his shoulders. She frowned. Being touchy at being touched wasn't uncommon, not by a long shot, but it was, er, a bit more of a Litch thing, wasn't it? She hadn't thought it would be so common in Grimm. She looked at his face--he hadn't seen her? But...oh, wait...every time he'd looked at her, he'd turned his head unusually far in her direction...

Was he blind in his right eye? Immediately, she made a mental note, outlined in heavy red ink: Do not approach from the right! "Ah'm sorry," she murmured to him. "Ah didn't mean t' startle you. Ah'll trah not t' do it again, I promise."

She turned back to look at the pair in the fountain, and it seemed as though things were definitely starting to go downhill. Athena was suddenly crying now, and Myles wasn't doing very well, either. To travel to a new place, hoping for a quick journey and a return home with a large and happy family? Yes, this must be quite a disappointment! "Ah don't think anyone here's angry at either of yah, Athena. Ah think most folks here are just worried and nervous. Ah thank we all love our home as much as you do yours. And Ah thank Kestrel mahght be forgettin' that we aren't his pack. He doesn't know what's fer the good of the Academy Grimms."

She tried to think of a question to ask, a happy one, one that would maybe cheer Athena up...or maybe help everyone calm down. And patch up the ill she might have done with that last comment.

"Athena, if it ain't too personal t'ask...how did you an' Mahls meet?" She figured that a nice, cute story like that would lighten the mood a bit...

"It--it's okay... y--you didn't know... um... thank you..." He nodded a little, then shifted his gaze back to Myles and Athena. The discussion seemed to keep circling back around to the same question: why should they leave their home to go with them? But Myles clearly didn't have an answer for them, so Neptune was beginning to wonder what the point was in asking the same thing over and over again. It would just be distressing. Very distressing... He shuddered a little at the thought of being in Myles' position instead of his own...

Athena's story piqued his interest though... she could move those fins? He blinked, tilting his head to the side a little. "Um... wh...what does that mean..? Um... the fin wiggling... ifthat'sokaytoasksorry..." He chewed at his lip, hoping that question wasn't out of bounds.

There seemed to be a slight calming down. She noticed that the Fallen girl, Jezebeth she thought she might be called, was chatting with a friend on the lip of the fountain. Jezebeth had said something earlier that had been lost in the clamor. It had sounded pretty good. She would have to ask her about it later. Oh dear. There was such a lot to talk to people about later...how would she remember it all? She wasn't entirely confident in her memory. She would just have to, er, hope...

But Melisara's guess that a question about romance would lighten the mood seemed to have been right. Athena was blushing, but the tears seemed to be drying up, and she looked a little happier. Certainly the way they met was a happy one, then. When she mentioned the wiggling of the ears, Sara giggled. She couldn't help it--she had no idea what it meant, but it sounded saucy! Very flirtatious. She wondered if she herself could wiggle her ears? It would work better with Grimm or Imps, or, indeed, with Nixie! She gave the Grimm in her arm a little squeeze--involuntarily. She didn't even realize she was doing it.

She nodded when Myles confirmed her suspicions. "When Grimm an' Nixie flirt, do Grimms wiggle their ears, too? Or do Nixies understand Grimm flirtin', too?" That seemed like a pretty light question about Grimm culture...

Yes, the Grimm who had arrived for the orange one were indeed his "pack." That meant that he was in good hands--quite unlike her poor Sphery up in the tree. She nodded gravely at Tobias and patted his hand one last time. "Eet wos not a pruhblim, Tobius." With that, she walked back to the tree in the corner of the courtyard. Sphery, it turned out, had managed to impale herself on a twig and was twitching pathetically. She sighed and pulled the little creature off of its twig and into her bag. Safe back on the ground again, she wove her way through the crowd and back through the strangely empty halls to her room.

What a busy day. She curled up on the bed to nap, and she dreamed of wolves, howling in sorrow.

"Oh! No!" he laughed. "It's a very intricate process, like every Nixie will wiggle slightly differently, our ears just don't work that way." he said. "They do, course it's kinda different than how it used to be. Grimm kinda didn't court, you just kinda got your marriage arranged for you. Now you give gifts and stuff, and you know state your intention to court someone."

He remembered a funny story his dad liked to tell to embarrass his mom. "When my parents were courting, my mom kind of misunderstanding how you stated your intention, climbed on top of the council building and yelled to the city her intent to take my dad as her mate. She was so proud of herself, and Dad wanted to just die. Surprisingly he still accepted." he said with an amused chuckle.

She couldn't help but giggle as Myles told his story, and then, once she was sure she had his attention again, wiggled her earfins at him before turning red, needing to hide her face in his shoulder as she giggled. There! Now everyone knew what it looked like!

Once she managed to calm down, she slowly pulled back, smiling at the others. "It is fun! But it's really embarassing to do it in front of so many people! It's kind of like what Myles' mom did, because so many people now know." The suggestion of food made her pause, considering. "Well if he's hungry..." She wasn't, not yet at least.

The other darker colored Grimm caught her attention though, and she nodded. "We do! We have skyfish and all sorts of aquatic type things down in our city, but we also have some pets from topside too! The Imps tend to bring them when we trade." She wasn't sure if she was supposed to say that, but an honest answer was better than none, right? "Oh it's amazing! It's all underwater, so it's really pretty. None of the buildings are too tall, though, so it doesn't burst the bubble so to speak. When it's dark out, it's really quiet and peaceful, but that doesn't mean that the clubs aren't making a lot of noise!"
