The pokemon was smart. It wouldn't be an easy opponent. Instead the girl could only watch, clenching her fists against her side as the two continued.
An interesting start to the battle. The pokemon thought that he was about to charge but instead the Stantler started to Leer. Trying to avoid looking directly at the pokemon and not get caught in the gaze, he took a couple steps back. ">Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.<" he muttered.

[Leer Successful! -1 to Longwei's DEF]
Again the Stanler would snort. Too easy. This young pup was far over his head; the foolishness of children. Stamping his front right hoof once the Stantler would bend his legs slightly, hunching and resuming his earlier stance, antler's angled outward. It was both a defense, and a warning. Come at me and be skewered. It worked better in a herd, but it was also a part of a standoff between young bucks. Nature had already provided the Stantler with plenty of ways to defend himself.
Unfortunately simply not looking at the Stantler hadn't been enough. Instead, he had taken a small glimpse in those eyes and was immediately caught and imbedded into his brain with them. Ugh! Growling to himself, the Houndour could feel the rage spreading through him! No, not yet. It was best to let the fury build before using such an attack. How best to try and attack. An idea formed in his head and the dark pokemon pounced forward. Running as quickly as his paws could managed he would try to come to as close to his opponent as possible, spit out an Ember, and then barrel roll away!

Unfortunately for Longwei, this Stanler was more than accustomed to Fire-types straying into his territory. With a Volcano so close by it had once been an everyday occurrence...but then they learned better. The orbs between his antlers briefly glowing the guardian would catch the Embers, dispersing them withing harm to himself. Lowering his head again the Normal-type would begin pawing at the ground. Once more he snorted. It would seem this pup was going to have to be taught the hard way. Orbs glowing the Stantler would use Disable!
The duck and roll for cover had not worked. Hmm well practice made perfect. The Stantlers horns began glowing once more and he began to take off running this time. Could he possibly outrun what was about to be done?

[EMBER IS DISABLED!]
[CRITICAL! +1 TO STANTLER'S ATTACK ROLLS!]
Tet again the Stantler would snort as he watched the Houndour's ever increasing foolishness. You could not run from everything, especially not the mind. Hunkering down the Stantler would re-assume his more defensive stance.

Kiani and Nero made their trek over the lily pads, with Kiani slightly pleased that so far they hadn't met any pokemon. However, she was also slightly put out at the moment. She was worried about whether or not Nero would be able to handle battle, but then again, she was pretty sure he could. It was in fate's hands. However, to be on the safe side, she was thinking of other methods of catching a pokemon.....just in case Nero got into some trouble.
Again he was unable to avoid it. The Houndour tried to summon up the fire within him and his mind pulled a blank. Only a puff of smoke emerged. What had happened? Oh no, had he forgotten how to use Ember? Or had his opponent taken it away from him? Glaring, he let loose a snarl finally letting his temper take control. A Houndour needed it's flames. This was getting more serious. Letting the anger and fury consume him, he lunged forward with Rage!

Lunging would add itself to the Houndour's countless mistakes in this battle. Catching the canine in his antler's the Normal-type would toss the pup aside as if he were nothing. The landing was however surprisingly soft; perhaps due to all the grass in the area. Still that was not to be the end of it. The Stantler had given his foe enough opportunities, it was time to prove why this would be the dog's last mistake. Lowering his head the Stantler would kick off the ground and propel himself into a full charge. He was going to give Longwei a Tackle he would not soon forget.
As Kiani traipsed across the lilypads she'd hear a faint splash off to her left. When and if she turned to view the source of this sound she'd find herself faced with a Wooper. Half bobbing out of the water the creature just stared at her with an unnervingly broad smile plastered across it's face.
The fire dog was tossed into the air and landed with an oomph into the grass. That hadn't been the smartest choice. His attack missed and his fury only became stronger. The rage continued to circulate through his mind until he saw only red. Everything else was forgotten as he was consumed by it. Without thinking, he also charged forward to meet the Stantler in his attack. He was aiming to Counter-Attack with Rage!

Kiani and her partner were walking carefully along the path, eyes peeled for trouble, when splashing caught her attention. She looked around til her gaze fell on a wooper, with a rather creepy grin on its face. It was unsettling to both her and Nero. He looked up at her and she looked at him before looking back at the wooper. What should she do, should she risk battling against it, or should she simply walk past. Looking at Nero, she figured she'd let him decide. "Here is your first chance at battle, would you like to take it or would you prefer to keep moving?" Kiani asked. Usually, she wouldn't even ask her pokemon, making them battle if she chose unless they were injured or to weak. However, the death, and subsequent rebirth, of Balrog had her feeling cautious. She was quite positive that if Nero died, he wasn't going to become an egg again.
Nero didn't answer his mistress, instead he sauntered to the edge of the lilypad and inclined his head. "> If you would be so kind, I would like to challenge you to a battle. It will be my first. <" Nero addressed the pokemon. Unlike his partner, Nero was quite confident that he would at least survive this encounter....if not win.
">Friiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeend<" The Wooper would proclaim in a low, slow voice as it's smile grew even wider. There was a certain unsettling twinkle in it's eyes as it set them upon Nero. One could only imagine what sort of mistake the girl and her Litleo had just made. Before they could change their minds however the Wooper would shoot forward, tail and large flat feet propelling it swiftly through the water. Within a few short seconds the amphibian would be standing opposite them, and as it smiled continued to wide it began making an array of gagging sounds. For a second one might think it was joking on it's own Water Gun, but what came out most certainly wasn't that sort of fluid. Holes burned into the lilypad it was standing on as the first few drops came out, and air sizzling as it released a toxic Acid Spray! Rather than tap into it's natural element it seemed this one was pulling from the power of it's digestive system!

Kiani watched Nero and her pride soared for the little guy. Even though the wooper was probably more experienced than him, Nero was still willing to fight. However, Kiani wasn't expecting it to immediately attack with acid spray. She danced backwards, barely avoiding it herself, and reminded herself to stay a safe distance away from this particular battle. Nero, on the other hand, tried to dodge the attack as well. "It's on. Alright Nero, let's do this." Kiani said.
Surprisingly despite the Houndour's previous failures the Stantler would be sent reeling from the pup's attack. The damage hadn't been too severe but it certainly wasn't nothing. Caught off guard by the sudden strike the Stantler would immediately hunker down into a defensive stance while he attempted to make sense of what had just occurred.
