Kristi Taylor & Hayden

Kristi was tired after unpacking, well, at least trying to unpack. She and Hayden had decided to go out for brunch, he looked tired too. June sat on Kristi's shoulder. The cat wasn't tired, she'd only just been summoned and hadn't needed to move all those damn boxes.
Kristi hoped they'd be happy here in Soleil. Well, June would be fine anywhere, she was more worried about Hayden. He'd seemed excited at the prospect of moving but it was difficult to be sure what he was thinking. At least right now he seemed happy.

Hayden thought unpacking was stupid. He didn't like it. The trouble was that he was stronger that Kristi, making him a pack mule, he knew it made sense but still. Well, the sooner they unpacked the better. Of course he was worried about living in a whole new place but it was also exciting.
He smiled. It was nice to go out to eat. Hayden looked at his companions, Kristi looked happy. He knew that moving stressed her out, he didn't really know how to fix it, Hayden had never been good at fixing things like that. He'd work on that later.
"Wait. Hayden, do you think we're aloud to bring June in here?" "I guess we'll see."
The two (and the cat) sat down at a table and waited to order. They hoped nobody would throw them out because of June.

Kristi and Hayden sat down and ordered brunch. June sat on Hayden's lap. Kristi was jealous of the cat, she seemed so calm. Kristi was a still worried about the move. She dug in her purse and found her sketchbook, laying it out on the table, she flipped to a rough sketch of a bird and continued to work on it.

Hayden was just glad that Kristi wasn't drawing him, he didn't mind too much if people knew what he was, it was still weird though. He sat there, petting June, and watched Kristi sketch. Every now and then he would point to the bird drawing and make a suggestion, like "I think it should be a crow, I like crows." To which Kristi would laugh and continue drawing, sometimes using Hayden's idea.

Kristi was almost finished her drawing of what was now a crow. The food arrived, it looked amazing. She and Hayden thanked the server, then they saw the note. They both read it and asked who it was from. The chef was their neighbor? Cool.
Kristi and Hayden wrote a quick response saying "Hi. Our names are Kristi and Hayden. Nice to sorta meet you. PS the food looks freaking amazing. They each wrote their names in their signature colours.
They both agreed that it would be nice to befriend a neighbor.

Hayden was the first of them to take a bite of oatmeal. Kristi watched as his eyes went wide with delight as he took another spoonful and another. She laughed and took a bite of her's, it was delicious. The server handed them another note. She and Hayden read it together. They decided to reply only once more, as not to inconvenience anyone further.
"The food is also delicious.
Once you have a break you should come say hi, we'd both really like to meet you in person."

Hayden finished his food first, He looked so happy as he leaned back and sighed. The server came back with the bill and another note from Solaris. Kristi and Hayden payed but decided to stay there longer, it was a nice place and they could use a change of scenery from their new house and all those boxes.
They were sitting next to each other in a booth, Kristi leaned against Hayden and proceeded to pet the clouded leopard, June. This made Hayden a little uncomfortable, he'd known Kristi forever but it still felt weird to be close to people.

Hayden took the thirty-something pound cat off of his lap and placed June on Kristi's lap instead. He was feeling a little squished. Kristi didn't seem to mind, she had begun drawing again. Hayden grabbed his phone out of his pocket, he felt awkward just sitting there and doing nothing so he opened a game that frustrated him to no end.

Kristi smiled as she watched Hayden glare angrily at his phone. She was sure he was playing that game again, she had offered to help him on the level he was stuck on but he refused to except help. She had considered beating that level of the game when he wasn't around one day, but then she realized that she didn't know his password. He was becoming more independent, she sometimes missed the days when he was clingy. Kristi pushed that thought out of her mind, and wondered when Solaris would be on break. She very much wanted to meet their new neighbour, it would be nice to know someone in the area. Kristi hoped that she and Solaris could be friends, and hoped even more that Hayden could become friends with her. She didn't want to admit it, but he needed someone else who wasn't Kristi or June in his life.

Kristi and Hayden both recognized the girl, they'd seen her around the neighborhood, she must be Solaris. "Don't worry, she doesn't bite." Kristi smiled, "Her name is June. And you must be Solaris, it's nice to meet you. I'm Kristi and..." She looked to Hayden,
"And I'm Hayden." He smiled and waved. He always felt so awkward when meeting new people. Would she be able to tell that something about his wasn't quite right with him? Was this girl going to judge him for what he was?

"Oh, I sure hope it's alright that we brought June in here. I guess I wasn't really thinking." she laughed somewhat nervously.
