He let out a hum of agreement. "I suppose that's true. I don't mind reading for long periods of time, but it's not something I would do forever on end. I like doing things when I feel up to it, but considering most of the things I read are like, historical and s**t, it's less magical."

"I been reading that history of natural disasters book a lot. It's got a lotta like.. quick facts. I don't feel like I gotta read a bunch at once." Plus it had awesome tornado and other disaster stories. So of course Otto was hooked.

Otto smirked lightly, peeking out from his game. "Well yeah. I mean, of course I'm cool." He didn't actually believe it, but it was fun to say. Mostly it was a chance to be a brat. "You should take notes. Maybe you can be cool someday." Lies, he already thought Chance was really cool. It didn't stop him from poking the man with his toe again.

He rolled his eyes, grabbing at Otto's foot to stop it from actually jabbing into him.
"Yes, please teach me your ways, oh wise one," Chance deadpanned. "I totally forgot you were the master of cool, please forgive my mistakes here."
Then he poked Otto's leg and flopped back down again, grinning.

" Forgiven." Otto murmured confidently, smugly continuing to play his game. Another hour passed. Otto had given up on his game and had somehow managed to flop upside down on the couch with his legs danging over the top of the backrest, one ear still sporting an earbud while listening to music.

Chance had also shifted during the next hour and was now curled up right next to Otto, against his side, nose still in the book. He was a few chapters from the end, pillow squashed against his chest.
"Aren't you afraid you're going to fall off?"

"Naw." He drawled, arms flopping lazily on either side of him, one such arm idly laid over Chance. "I got my legs hooked in. I'm good." Although maybe the blood was starting to rush to his head a bit. "My room looks different from this angle."

He twisted his head a little to look at Otto, peering at his upside form.
"I assume so," said Chance, a little dryly, but then he smiled, because it was kind of cute.
"Finish your game?"

"That's no fun," said Chance mildly, noting which page he was on, and then setting the book down. He reached for the pillow and gathered it to his chest, staring up at the ceiling, Otto's arm warm around him.
Then he promptly thwacked Otto in the side with said pillow.

"Wah!" Otto yelped, flailing from the sudden attack. "Don't make me fall, a*****e!" He grouched, grabbing the offending pillow in retaliation.

"I wouldn't do that," said Chance innocently, but he was snorting with laughter, trying to snatch the pillow back.
"Gimme, I won't do it again."

"I ain't stupid." Otto griped, clutching the pillow in a death grip, despite there being a full arsenal of them all around. "Can't fool me!"

"Never said you were," said Chance airily, fingers digging into the pillow.
"I'm completely and totally innocent - hey, this is like that sheet incident all over again, what is it with you and stealing all of the bedding?"
