Perhaps some food was in order to help distract him from his fears and worries.

Grabbing a miniature wolf hot dog for himself, Helki began to relax a little when Tavi agreed to his request to go check out the game booths next. He felt bad dragging the kitsune away from the food and dance floor so early on for his own selfish reasons like this. Compared to Zaire, Tavi was way different - always so accommodating, thoughtful and sensitive towards his feelings and needs. Perhaps he could make it all up to him later by returning in time for the last dance. Yeah, he should be able to do that at least for Tavi.

Snagging another hot dog, he gave a small smile at the pair of PROM glasses that the kit had gotten for the both of them. Tavi's enthusiasm and excitement were contagious and starting to rub off on him a little. "Let's go then." He took ahold of one of the kitsune boil's hands, gave it a small squeeze before guiding him through the tall, shimmering magic mirror that would take them directly outside to where the game booths were located.

Walking into prom with Hadiyya on his arm, Marosa was a bundle of nerves. His wings were pressed tightly against the small of his back, but he put on a smile and glanced to his beautiful date.

"Hadiyya, ye look wonderful tonight," He spoke softly, admiring once again the outfit she wore. Of course, she looked lovely in anything she donned.

Marosa himself was dressed a touch nicer than he usually did, a dark green jacket over a nice dress shirt with a vest that was embroidered in gold celtic knots, dark green pants to match the jacket, and cuff links that were also in the shape of a celtic design, although slightly different. The last touch he had on his outfit was a blue hankerchief folded in the top pocket of the jacket - he'd wanted to match Hadiyya's colors as best he could, and hoped that he succeeded in that endeavor.

Though his interest in figuring out just what "Ruth's" deal was waned when she left the room, it couldn't help but return when she did, especially since she had crossed from the mirror to stand right in front of them. He thought he had heard her speak before in all of those waking dreams he was trying not to think about, but the way she did so now was high pitched (for her) and just... weird. This whole situation was weird.

He looked at the purple boil standing nearby. "It's a boil. His name is Hector," Brenley translated. He looked to Ignatius. "Right? I mean..." He gestured as if awkwardly showing off a prize on a game show. "Have I been in the punch?" He was beginning to think so.

The grin on Hel's face just widened, and in reply to Vaith's bow she managed to curtsy, because that's apparently what ghouls in dresses did (and what she saw in all the movies). The reaper turned to Xiu, and jabbed a thumb back at Vaith. "I like him." This was followed by a delighted sound of awe as she turned back to the other reaper.

"Ah! The best friend of Xiu! That is truly one of the highest honors to be bestowed! It is very much a pleasure to meet you, Vaith!" Anymore talking was temporarily halted by the arrival of Junko, which prompted Hel to reply with:

"Creampuff!" A quick pause. "Oh! A red velvet Creampuff!"

It was good to hear Jory laugh, and Zaire had no problem being silly to get more of the sweet sound. As the other monster questioned him he stepped into his space and growled softly, "I..can show you how?" Teasingly he stole a nibble at blue skin then pulled up. "How was that for you baby?.." He asked with a playful smirk. The teeth weren't very sturdy but it worked for being goofy, maybe he'd keep them but for now he placed them from mouth into his pocket for safe keeping.

Going with Jory's head turn he looked around as well, now noticing there weren't many dancers not that it mattered to Zaire. Since he didn't get as nervous as his boilfriend but when the other gently refused the idea the monster understood. More so as those blue cheeks turned pale. Zaire didn't want to press anything tonight, everything had to be perfect. A tanned hand moved to curl around Jory as he was leaned into. "Alright...." Glowing eyes slid around and lips pursed to the side. Aside from food and dancing not much was going on around here. When Jory mentioned visiting friends Zaire peered at the faces to see if he knew any, "...I don't see any of mine....are you wanting to visit someone?" He asked turning down to meet the blue eyes.

Quidel approached the gymnasium wearily, and with hesitation. His usual smooth gait was slackened and a bit stuttered in its step, shifting between slow pace and even slower. He... probably shouldn't go here... but his curiosity got the better of him. Of the few events he had joined that the school hosted, he'd found them to be rather interesting, and the pizzazz of them admirable. If he were to simply be just another body filling the area, and crowding it further, then so be it. Support it, he would.

His wings kept tucked tight at his sides, to keep out of the way. Golden eyes scanned his surroundings, and a hand raised to open the front doors and enter the bumping establishment. And as he entered, like the times before, he was in awe of the festive decor and effects that were supplied. Folks were dancing, dressed decadently, and happiness was palpable in the air. Fidgeting his wings slightly, in an odd idle and anxious gesture, he eyed the beverages and food. Maybe... start there, or something. Out of the way of the main throng. Though his eye did keep catching to that mirror further into the building.... it stood out like a sore thumb.

Meanwhile, Verusha had already made herself comfortable in the party scene, as she always did. Decked out in her skull-punk dress, with canine features here and there, the ghoul had no problem dancing on her own. She treated it as though she were at a club, moving with the music, feeling the motion of the other bodies around her. No date? no problem. No friends? who cared. There was food, rhythm, and mood, that's all that mattered!

Ayane chastised herself mercilessly (and silently) as she lovingly dragged her ghoulfriend along to prom. The poor thing had put so much work into their outfits of COURSE they had to show them off! Granted she would have been just as content staying back at her dorm room with Lute and admiring them there but that wasn't near as much fun.

Not that she didn't steal a few kisses before they'd managed to make it out the door.

But they were here now, and Ayane was quite proud of the Troll outfit her ghoulfriend had made. Her ghoulfriend did make quiet the adorable little goat. She liked this idea - it was cute.

"We're here!" She said excitedly to the saytr by her side. After all - they were doing this to help Lute more than anything. The ghoul had to get out there a little bit more and show off her talents!

A myriad of hoots and hollers finally plucked at Zenko’s attentions long enough to tear him away from the Nightmare Guide he had been diligently reading for the past few hours. With a few well-placed balancing flicks of his dark tail he managed to navigate across his unkempt room and toward the door. Scooting a pile of dirty laundry to the side with his foot, he yanked it open to see a hub of students all dressed in varying degrees of formal attire. From dark reds to the brightest of pinks, from floor length gowns and tuxes to skin more than fabric, and from smiles to grimaces his classmates paraded by. With a c**k of his head the Kitsune found his eyes drawn to a glimmering pathway just outside his door. “What the?” Clearly someone had put a lot of effort into whatever was causing the buzz of excitement to currently fill the corridor. And, whatever it was, seemed to be having an effect on him as well.

Backing away from the excited din and into the havoc that was his room, Zenko searched around for his jacket. He would certainly have to go and tell his twin about this new discovery. Having come from a rather traditional estate, neither of them had really seen a spectacle such as this. After a few moments of pawing through pile after pile of laundry and books, he located the garment he had been searching for and rushed down the hallway to Yako’s door.

There was an almost musical note to the rapping of his knuckles on his brother’s door, and as he stood awaiting a response there was a little bounce to his feet that kept him shifting in place. His eyes continued to wander from the door to the dwindling sea of students and back again. “C’mon Yako.” He murmured through clenched teeth, a sense of urgency evident in his tone. Surely his twin couldn’t already be asleep? And he definitely would have come out already to scold Zenko if he had interrupted his studies. With a few more solid knocks the Kitsune decided, whether out of fantasy or by process of elimination, that his twin had already gone to investigate the affair.

***

Along the glittering path Zenko went, curiosity guiding him and a nagging voice calling out for Yako threatening to stop him in his tracks. His only companion throughout his life thus far had been his twin, and being without him made him feel lost or incomplete. Even so, his Kitsune sense of mischief and wonder guided him forth until he stopped before a well glimmered building. Though he had much praise for the architect that had put the illusion into place, he was certain he could have done a better job. With a proud tilt of his chin he waltzed into the gymnasium, stopped just as his foot crossed the threshold by an assault of loud, unfamiliar music. His hand shot up to his hears and his red eyes scanned the writhing grouping of bodies as they danced about. All of this was so very new to him; after all, he had only been able to assume this bipedal form for a short time. Now more than ever, he hoped to see his twin standing somewhere apart from the crowd, his shrewd gaze appraising, and his arms crossed over his chest, but he was nowhere to be found.

They took the carriage and went through the streets of what they could call their neighborhood till they hit the wooden trails towards Amityville. Aside from the dorms and the house, it was the only time Calder and Zar were ever alone together and considering their track record of arguments, he was nervous to do anythig to ruin the evening.

To be frank, he had been getting restless to go out. Between rebuilding, fixing, trimming, and trying to figure out how he could help with their income, Calder wanted out of the house and away from the massive list of responsibilities.

Dressed in a red dress, one he couldn't excuse as a frilly kilt, and braided his hair on either side, tied with matching bows. To complete was the red hood and cape. Nervous, he would adjust himseld in his seat, a bit uncomfortable, but trying to keep up the chatter. It was his first time just with Zar and he wanted it to work and there was no denying his excitement for prom.

When they arrived, he went down the steps and waited for Zar to walk inside together. "It's nice out." He added.

Ignatius was perfectly fine with going back to dancing in place until Blondie came up to them, dragging around what he presumed was her date.

And then she spoke.

Maybe this wasn't who he thought it was after all. She didn't speak, right? She was mute. Or just didn't like talking. Or something. He was admittedly starting to understand why Brenley may have thought he was drunk. He behaved like he did to just have fun but combined with this...

Well. He'd roll with it. When Brenley turned back to Ignatius to confirm, he laughed and shook his head. "Nah, but we can go get some if you want." Might help Brenley deal with the already growing to be interesting evening. "But I assure you, there is a boil there. He is indeed underdressed."

Coming from Ignatius, that was only a little unfair...

Oh she was darling. Ashanti wanted to reach out and gently touch the other's wings just to feel how the feather felt. She looked quite more put together than she did, and was just so adorable. And hooves! A winged creature with hooves! The Abyssal wondered what manor of creature she truly, and what sort of things she enjoyed. So polite as well! The Abyssal fidgeted slightly, wings twitching, with rather poorly hidden excitement.

Who knew prom could be so fun!?

"Yes. My closest comparision are Pyre Festivals and they are not... quite this exciting. Or entertaining," she replied, tucking her own hands behind her back in an attempt to keep from petting those nice wings of Aureole's.

Lute was blood red as her ghoulfriend dragged her towards the huge castle like area that was the gym now. It was beautiful, the music was tasteful and the little foods they passed as they entered too cute. The little saytr was in heaven, her first prom with her first ghoulfriend! What could be better?

Pink little ears wiggled in the mess that was the ghouls hair, beaming she turned up to Ayane and smiled softly. "...I-i'm really happy we came.." Even if she had been dreading being around so many people for so long. It was worth it, clinging to her dates side she asked softly, barely heard of the music likely, "..what do you want to do first"

That was a very good question and one she did not have a ready answer to. Ayane smiled at her ghoulfriend, thinking for a moment. "We could dance if you feel up to it?" She said quietly. "Or we can go and check out the games. Whatever you feel most comfortable with."

Step one was getting her out here. The next step would be to get her to work out of her comfort zone slowly. But for now, scareling steps.

ALL THE PROM
PostPosted: Tue Jun 30, 2015 3:52 pm

Riyo decided to make an appearance.. Begrudgingly. Had she bought a dress specifically for this occasion in advance? Yes. Had she made sure to match to the theme with some Red Riding Hood elements? Yes. Had she waited for someone, ANYONE to mention the fact that the prom was coming up and she should go with them (as was the usual case)? She had probably checked her phone more that week than when she used it for business practices.

But nothing.

By the morning of, the feline had painfully realized there wouldn't be a soul asking her to or even mentioning prom. She had planned it all out in her head. 'oh prom I dunno you're gonna have to convince me to waste my time'. Or 'you actually expect me to go to that s**t show? What's in it for me?' Perhaps that was the entire reason no soul had asked. In earlier years she would've been sincere about her objections, but anymore it felt like she was grasping at the last feeble strands of her school social life before they had frayed away completely. Damn them for convincing her that being a recluse wasn't all there was to life!

Riyo had seriously considered staying in her dorm all night out of spite, but that meant the new dress would go to waste. She had to wear it at least once before she demanded a refund. It was in her code of ethics. So in the ghoul sulked. There was an attempt to be subtle but that ebbed away the second she sat at the first empty table, puffed up her cheeks, and watched everyone else have fun with her arms crossed over her chest.
