Lydia let out a startled and rather loud yelp when something slammed down, her face first turning quite red and then paling as Caelius began to speak. She somehow sunk lower and lower in her chair as he went on, and when it came to leadership, she looked as if she might want to join Solia on the floor under the table.
But...what if it was a test? Could she be suspended for lack of confidence?
Nervously, she pushed herself out of her seat.
And then, she abruptly changed her mind and sat back down again, burying her face in her hands in defeat.

For his part, at least, Lukas seemed thoroughly disinterested in standing up -- instead sitting back, legs crossed absently and eyes taking on a comfortable distance like he wasn't, really, there. He was good at this: tuning out things that he either didn't want to hear, or didn't think applied to him. In this case, it was a bit of both. After all, his recruiters had more or less lied to him about what joining the organization would mean, had just jumped him from being under one kind of thumb to under another. He was more interested in the girls near him, flicking Chel a brief, assessing look before he went distant again. He could listen to their very hushed whispers without looking, most likely.

Chel noticed herself being sized up (a familiar feeling, thanks to the scars that riddled her face).
She shot him one of these.

There was about a long minute, or two, or five, or possibly even ten, as those who nominated themselves just stood there. It seemed more like punishment then anything else, a sort of public embarrassment.
The Death lead finally had finished sorting through his list of folders. "While I appreciate," he didn't, "your ability to nominate yourselves, if you haven't earned leadership, then you do not deserve it."
There were six folders that had been exasperated from the pile, and Caelius began to read the names off. "Gale. Rep. Lucky. Jake. Wilson. Konstantin. You may remain standing. Everyone else, sit down. I want everyone at this meeting to take a good look at those standing and thoroughly consider what they have accomplished that you have not. Consider being better than them. If you think that is possible, if you think you can accomplish more for this division than them, then maybe next time I wont only have six names in the marginally competent Hunters pile."
"All six of you. Choose at least two Hunters from this division. You are responsible for showing them how to properly research, and to what scope personal projects for this division encompass. The Hunter with the most promising results will be given a reasonable raise." He turned to Mark, and then Oz. "That includes you as well."
Mark began to sweat, Oz immediately turned to look at Quinn with a rather intense stare and slow smile.
"The division assistants will be here to answer any further questions. If indeed, actions speak louder than words, so far, most have you have only shown that you have the attention capacity of a guinea pig and probably the same ******** purpose; to be used, to be tested on, and discarded when it doesn't ******** work. If you want to be respected, you will earn it. If you want to be promoted, you will earn it. If you wish to ******** text each other and made crude communication efforts in the middle of a division meeting that assesses your behaviour and promotion status, I'm sure you earned the consequences of that as well. Out of agreed cross-division courtesy I will give you one last warning; this is the last time I will be this lenient. If there is a future meeting, I guarantee it will not go as nearly smoothly or carefully. I'm sure all of you witnessed the events recently, compound what you've seen by at least ten on the rest of the ******** planet. You have been sheltered simply by living on this island away from what is actually ******** happening. If it is protected by people who would rather text each other than learn how to do their jobs, then I have very little confidence in the future results. If you wish to keep what you have, and this includes protecting everything left, I would consider very carefully thinking on how and not hoping someone else gets the ******** job done. I will not save you on the battlefield, you are expected to save yourselves. Ignorance does not breed safety, results do. I recommend before all of you leave, that you use the resources given to you in the room."
With that he simply stood up, and left, the door slamming shut rather loudly, purely by habit and force of hand.
Five seconds passed. And then Mark shot straight up from his chair. "For the record," he squeaked, "I- I'm not accepting any more padawans. But Oz here-"
-"Nope," said Oz, and he already had somehow gravitated to Quinn's seated location and was draping himself all over the hapless trainee, "I'm taken."
"- And good luck guys!" Mark thumbs-upped at the ones that Caelius had selected. OOC BUDDY SYSTEM: PART 2 :- Whenever any FULL HUNTER or any Hunter with a special working task (anyone quoted below) goes on mission and picks someone of the same division it is considered "mentoring". The Full Hunter and the trainee will get x2 rp points for doing whatever it is they are on (outside of ORPs of course). This includes GM prps if a Hunter has a chance to select a trainee to come along. - If you were NOT QUOTED, please feel free to quote any of those Hunters to ask. Otherwise, their contact information is sent as a public text, and you can text them any time asking for "help" or mentorship. In addition Full Hunters have access to all trainee records, they can text anyone in the division if they are feeling at all helpful. - This is very very oocly encouraged, as a way for the division to icly bond and get together to share what they know. In addition, you are free to make smaller orps or prps where Hunters gather and pool information. This is also a great way for newbie Hunters to be exposed to some of the plots that the more veteran Hunters are doing! - Please use the rest of this RP to icly discuss things! It's a great opportunity to do so. If your Hunter has elsewhere to go they can slink off, and contact other Hunters from this division later! This concludes this RP so go ahead and add +2 points for your Hunter as long as you posted over 600 words (either prior this post, or after this post). - If any Hunter is curious on "what is happening to the rest of the world", they can always engage in any form of this EM here (check out "Extermination Mission") - If you have any other questions or wish to discuss any other plots/prps/etcetc, feel free to pm Zoobey! I'm always around!

Kostya startled as Caelius said his name. He looked at everyone else that was mentioned, grimacing a little bit. Hadn't Gale just summoned something terrible? Hadn't Lucky just fallen from a Helicopter? Hadn't Rep just had terrible zombie missions?
It didn't bode well for what Caelius thought of him, all things considered.
He took this time to actually stand, slowly, and coughed. This was uncomfortable, primarily because Kostya couldn't tell if his name was being...praised or thrown under a bus. It has hard to tell.
"If anyone vishes to verk vith me, please do not hesitate to contact."

Rep said nothing in response, simply nodded and sat. Marginally competent was better than utterly incompetent, but even that could change in a heartbeat and given the nature of his compatriots, might well have been being completely ironic.
He gestured to Al and Rodney with a smirk, beckoning them over. He liked the passive ones most of all.
Anyone Else Rep is mostly good for not much. He's investigating the grail but is probably horrible to work under.

One the door had slammed shut, Lucky clapped his hands together nervously into a sort of awkward clasp and looked around the rest of the round table for some time - giving the other mentors a nervous look if they made eye contact. Marginally competent was still a huge step up from some of the other things he'd been called lately, and, well, generally. He was still never going to get used to the particularly disgusted way Caelius always said his name. Well, he had volunteered. Probably a mistake. Definitely a mistake. Incidentally, he had no idea what anyone's names were in this division. He was sweating. "Um... you.. and...... you..." Lucky motioned to Quinn and Ripley respectively. They looked like safe choices. He could handle them. Probably. "Come here?" Very authoritative. Having expended all of his mental energy on that one task, he immediately sat down and began to fiddle with his new watch, pulling up a holographic display. It was Kostya's comment that reminded him he should probably say something too. "Also. Um. If you have any information on the, uh, recent virus outbreak, or the... organization known as Ouroboros," he adjusted his glasses with a scarred hand branded with a familiarly circular shape, and glanced up from the riveting list of personnel, "Or if you would... like to learn more about them through a generous contribution of your time... please talk to me." anyone and everyone present IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK OUROBOROS/CIRCLES/O/GREYSHIRTS OR THE GRAIL HERE IS THE GUY TALK TO THIS GUY BOTHER THIS GUY

Horace, after sitting down (he hadn't really expected that to go anywhere anyway), flipped to a previous page in his notebook. With a soft sigh, he began to re-edit the Ordered List of Most Ridiculous Divisions. It was the tug-of-war. Still, he guessed it was better than what he'd heard of Sun.

The slam of the door had definitely made Jake jump, despite how he should probably be used to this by now. And even the mention of paperwork had also made him nervous. He definitely hadn't been slacking on those nope.
The mention of leaders however, had made Jake pause. WAS he a leader? Sure, he was a hunter now, and he had asked for responsibilities, but... had he even carried them out properly? He couldn't even lead himself. What made him think he could lead others? Even as Gale and others stood up, Jake remained seated. Maybe it was best if he just-
His name was called. Jake stood up. Why was he called? While horrified at the fact he actually had to do something, he was also mildly flattered Caelius considered him marginally competent. Maybe he was just over-thinking it and there were only a few handful of full hunters in the room. Or... perhaps he should be thinking on the same wavelength as Kostya. Nothing good came from being under the death lead's watchful eye.
"U-um, same here..." Jake repeated after Kostya, scratching his head.

Gale did the intelligent thing to do and let go.
Sorry, Quinn.
Clearing his throat, and waiting until Lucky was finished, Gale took a deep breath. His eyes scanned the room, expression as stoic as ever, gaze flickering from one Death Hunter to the next. Rep had chosen Rodney and Al, Lucky had snagged Quinn and Ripley, and Gale...
He gestured to Gretchen first, and then said quietly, "If you would accompany me, if you please, and choose one other person as well whom you would wish to work with."TO EVERYONE ELSE OOC: Gale is knowledgeable about Ouroboros / Circles / Grail / and Sahara, as well as his Specialization in Horseman Artifacts, so if anyone has any questions or would like to just to talk to him about it, please feel free to hit me up!!
