He took a deep, holding Claude's gaze.
"Okay, fine," said Chance, after a long moment. "Fine." The urge to point out that he was a relatively honest person in general was almost overtaken, but he squelched it, knowing it would lead to just another circular conversation.
"I'll be straightforward with you, if that's what you want."

"It is." A pause. "Why were you hoping I changed?" Call it a test of this straight forward agreement they just made. It was also to satisfy the curiosity.

He exhaled a disgruntled sounding breath. Well, he had promised her to be honest.
"I wasn't so much hoping you'd changed as I was hoping that you'd just give up on whatever it was that you were trying to do," said Chance with a sigh. He glanced over at Claude. "I'm not trying to start something again, I swear. That's just what my mindset was."

"Ah, progress." Was Claude's small yet relieved and pleased sigh. She raised a finger and made a circular motion. "This was all I was trying to do." The air seemed to lighten considerably. "Though I do wonder what me being stoic as usual had anything to do with that." She smirked a bit as her head tilted. "Of course, whatever I ask of you I will do in return." She'd wouldn't ask if she'd not do it as well.

He was relieved to see that Claude was not going to get annoyed at him again, because in all honesty, annoyance was a hard emotion to keep experiencing and Chance didn't particularly care for it. He gave Claude a particular Look but there wasn't much heat behind it.
Chance shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans, which were winningly splattered with mud and grime from the portal.
"I thought maybe in my absence, you'd become a radio show host, of course," he deadpanned.

"But I have." She dead panned right back at him. "You're just not tuned in to the right channel." Claude reached into her coat pocket to pull out her phone and glanced at the time. This mission had eaten away more time than she had anticipated. She needed to get ready to go soon for the off island observation post duty she had again. She stared at her phone for a moment longer, "You like games." She stated and then slipped her phone into her pocket. "Would you like to play one?"

"You're on your way to sounding like a pirate." Claude nodded her head lightly in approval. At the suspicious look, a smirk couldn't help but lightly tug at the corners of her lips. It was probably bad she found it amusing. "It's not difficult." One fist rested on her waist while the other hand rested at her side as she looked at him. "It's along the same vein of what I just asked, actually. Once a day, one question can be asked of the opposite party but regardless of the question, whether serious or silly, it must be answered honestly." She tilted her head, and waited to see if he'd be interested.

"Uh huh," said Chance, not sounding convinced in the slightest. But he waited her out anyway, eyes narrowing slightly at the idea. It was certainly an interesting concept, though it had the potential to be a little dangerous, maybe. But still..."
"All right," he said finally. "I'll play."

A smirk pulled her lips in earnest this time. She was pleased. "Excellent." Claude murmured. "It starts tomorrow." It was then she started moving again, heading towards the dorms. "I'll see you when I see you, Chance." It also may have been a d**k move to not mention she was heading back to an Off Island Observation Post tomorrow, and that the next time she'd see him, at the earliest, was in three weeks. It was also probably a d**k move not to mention since she wouldn't have any cellphone reception out there or means to communication. Claude liked to be a d**k sometimes.
