He was checking through his pockets as they began to move out, eyes flickering up on occasion to check that nothing was about to sneak up on them. "A map could be useful, or we could just wander into each store along one side and hope to find something." Around them, the air was filled with sounds of hunters fighting infected, shouts, weapons flashing with runes and steel alike. He stopped momentarily to give Milo a chance to wander over, while fastening one of the pouches on his belt closed once more. "Parts unknown." He shrugged, having a glance around at all of those already engaged. "Though if we come across somebody struggling, I guess we can help them out too." Why not? And suddenly, an Oliver. "Hey, princess!" Finn grinned at him without missing a beat. "Come on, it's just like all those video games you've been playing at my place, except real and much more fun." Probably not helpful at all, and if Finn knew that Oliver thought being with him in a zombie invasion was a good idea, he might have laughed, considering he had managed to get himself infected once before. His shoulder itched slightly over the mark that had been left behind from that particular adventure, but he chose to ignore it. "Alright, so obviously this is pretty simple. We've got two heavy hitters, a tank," He pointed to himself "And our precious little healer to run around giving you guys some first aid as needed." A smirk cast in Oliver's direction. "Let's get going." Out on the mall floor, beyond the gurgling and splashing fountain, and several stores down (the ones the passed to start with seemed to be taken care of already), they came to a music shop on the right. Peering in, Finn gestured at the others to stay close before making his way inside, keeping a careful eye out for... ....Oh ******** gross. What was that smell? "Okay, that's different." He said, giving a look at the thing that was suddenly zipping towards them from down an aisle stocked with C.D's (did people even still listen to those??) "Yike." Ace made a face at the dead thing, decided that they were nothing similar to the undead in movies or games. Catherine was dismissed for a short break. "I'm just tagging along, ask the cutie," he shrugged, throwing the ball to Shu. He was fine for either way: whether being a lonely wolf being until he found another team or tag along with the sun hunter and the death hunter. Shu scooted over and gently squished Jordan's hands, "Of course I don't mind, it would feel much safer if you're here." She beamed. "They- they were once humans? Or they are monsters with a human-like appearance?" She actually hoped the answer was the second one but somehow she knew the answer. Ace who walked behind them caught up with his steps and hugged the Asian girl, "Don't worry, you now have two knights guiding you, little princess." He winked, feeling the softness of her little body. "You're cold, did you wear enough?" He raised an eyebrow at the coolness of her body temperature, the hands he touched were cold as ice. Her face reddened like a peach for the hug, "I-I don't feel cold, my body is like that, but I'm fine, thank you." She stared at the hand interlocked with hers, then looked at the tall man. "My hand is warmer, let me share you some of my heat." The man beamed, totally didn't feel it awkward. Ace bent his torso out for Jordan, "Is this the first time you see this thing? They're nothing like what we see in games or movies. What're these stupid things? They're not cool at all." < GROSS. So grossy! ♥♥♥♥♥ You promised to clean me~> Not now dear, be patient. Catherine cried, grumbling with a pouty tone.

"Nice to have you, Green." She reached around Finn, offering the other Sun her knuckles for a bump before a fourth hunter came jogging up to join them. "Aw, hey Oliver, how's it going?" He seemed like he was injury free, so hopefully he was doing well.. She was relatively quiet for the remainder of the trip down to the music store, but that didn't mean she wasn't paying attention. Her attention was not only on her group, but their surroundings, taking everything in. So Finn wasn't the only one to notice the smell. Her nose wrinkled, small body physically recoiling before she spotted the thing charging them at full speed. "Got it!" Quick as a shot she was taking off to meet it before it could get too close to the group. The first slash of a scythe like limb was ducked, Peyton darting around to the side, but a second, downward swipe would catch her in the shoulder before she bringing her own blades up in retaliation. And boy, she did not hold back. Agile and fast, she maneuvered around the thing with a notable grace that made it look easy, Small daggers flashing in the over head lights of the store as she tore into the zombie, slicing it open at multiple points and gritting her teeth against the smell of the blood and worst now leaking out of the wounds. HP: 57 DMG: 7 + 4= 11 * 2 = 22 CHG: 1/3 Speedy HP: 23 Quote: Sun Hunter: +4 Atk Light Weapon: Double damage against SPEEDY type!

Lukas was late, but he was there: just a little breathless, still half-asleep, with a hat over the tousled mess of his hair and still recovering from the portal. Something about the means of travel still left him a little bit uncomfortable, patting down all his pockets and probing at long-distant memories. Too many fantasy philosophy books, he thought. Should lay off those, especially now. Of course, by this point the place had been largely overtaken by hunters far more competent than him, swinging their way through shambling monsters, which meant he had a moment to pause, draw his breath, and wonder if anyone actually needed him here. Then, after a moment, he wondered if he even really wanted to be here. beejoux wanna grab him, & cheekie?

Considering what had happened on her last mission, to say Gretcen wasn't really looking forward to this one would have been quite the understatement. Sure, the parameters were different, but that didn't really do much to calm the note of anxiety that was forming in the Death's stomach as she walked through the portal. Her trip into the woods with Chance and Dawson had been a complete disaster, and though they had all been working out of sync, Gretchen blamed herself. She was the newest, the least experienced, and she felt she'd held them back. The only reason they had done so poorly was because they'd been worrying about her. ( You mussst get this idea out of your head. It will cripple you.) They could have been words of encouragement, if not for the disgusted tone that accompanied them. Devika had been furious. An ever present black cloud of judgement and disappointment. She was hovering near the medical tent, out of the way of course, when she noticed she wasn't exactly alone in hanging back. Or maybe he'd just arrived. She wasn't entirely sure, but by the looks of him he could have just stepped out of the portal. Since she really didn't want to be doing this alone, and since there wasn't anyone else as of yet not in a group, it was probably a good idea to approach him. "Ah, Hello." Not quite as bright as normal, but she did still smile as she raised a hand, walking over to him.

Mikael was torn between delight at being saved and sorrow at the fate of the woman who had been killed. He'd never seen a dead body before and was more deeply shaken than he could even begin to explain at seeing what appeared to be one walking around.
He didn't want to hit her, he didn't want to do anything at all, but Fen was snarling and his hands were acting out of instinctual deference to the angry, toothy voice, once again he pulled the trigger, but he was shaking like a leaf the whole time.
"I don't want to hurt people." he said.

"Dunno if it's related," he grunted and didged as the creature tried to neatly bite him. "They restrict a lot of info from trainees." Mikael's bemoaning was met with another eyeroll. Everything today was just... annoying. "Well, it's not a person now, so hit it as you please." Horace was going to need fifteen showers after this.
He took out his irritability on the shambling creature, spring forward and grabbing its arm. Jagged nails swiped at him, but Horace twisted and something popped. It was loud, and awful, and was followed by a horrible squelch. Like an overdone chicken, the thing's muscle fell apart. Frankly speaking, the arm came off in Horace's hand. He barely controlled his urge to shriek like a little girl and dropped the offending limb with a wet plop. The infected gibbered at him, sounds that could have once been words coming through blackened lips. The smell intensified, stinking of wet beast and rotten sludge.

For once Cain wasn't annoyed, actually the life trainee was pretty thrilled after getting the text. Finally getting the chance to be useful helped elevate his mood enough to where even after exit through the portal a smile remained. A looked to the right then left came as footing did. There were a lot of people here, most seemed far more experienced than he but that didn't matter, they said they needed help, he was help. Or could be.
Hearing a hello Cain turned and narrowed his gaze on a female approaching a male, neither of which he knew which wasn't saying much given his track record. Given they were the closest the tanned dark headed man started over to them. Obviously they were all here for the same thing so instead of a hello Cain simply offered, "we should group up." Because while he wanted to help there was no way in hell he was going in alone.

Isaac let out a low, appreciative whistle at the sight of Nellie's gauntlets, but before he could comment on them the pair was approached by a wall of flesh and green eyes. Isaac felt the quickest surge of insecurity before he stepped up to bat - literally, as he held Lark like he was going to hit the infected out of the park. Except his sword caught in the wall, instead. As he stood there and attempted to remove Lark from the plaster she'd gotten embedded into, the infected shoved Isaac aside. Thankfully the force of the push was enough to dislodge Lark; regretfully, it also sent both of them skidding across the tiled floor. "Be careful, Nellie," Isaac groaned as he rose to his feet. For a wary moment, Lukas watched her -- adjusting the hat on his head as he tried to ascertain if that was directed toward him. It meant that his wave was careful, the small flash of a gesture that would be easy to pass off as Something Else, his expression still wary until she was close enough that any confusion was wiped away -- But he still looked wary. Her easiness was unsettling, especially since he definitely didn't recognize her. So he flicked his eyes from her to an extremely-young-looking stranger and rolled out his shoulders in an attempt to relax. "Are you heading in now?"

She was definitely aiming for him, so that little wave earned him a small smile as she came to a stop beside him. Lips parted to state her business, but a voice to their side made her pause, eyes widening just slightly before an almost amused smile cut through the lingering anxiety she was feeling. Apparently they had similar ideas. "I was going to," she answered the other Death first. "But I would really rather not go in there alone if I could help it." That just seemed like a recipe for disaster. "So teaming up seemed like a good idea." A beat, then she'd add. "Unless you're waiting for someone?" The other one, just a touch shorter, she could probably count on going with her. He'd approached them, after all, so if the the first one wasn't available to team up, she at least wouldn't have to go in alone. "Oh." She extended a hand, first to the brunette with the husky-blue eyes, then to the freckled one, with the roots peeking through the dark color of his hair. "I'm Gretchen."

When the man spoke Cain straightened out of habit already aware of everyones heights thanks to his own. "I'd like to." The words were short, tone clipped. And while it might not make him friends it would let them know this was urgent and beyond the normal social politeness which the woman apparently didn't get. Was he the only person in the world that hated this s**t?
A narrowed set of violet eyes landed on the hand then after a reluctant moment his own met it, "Cain." A slightly irritated look was given to them both holding with it what his lips were nearly ready to ask. "So." The life trainee's mood slowly declining the more time he had to spend in one place.

Announcement
The chime of the announcement system rang out again, this time it didn't seem to be addressed to the hunters presently clearing out the area around the camp itself.
"Hello again!" Rep sweetly said in a sing song voice. "This announcement goes out to all you people hiding out there. You civilians. Don't hide sillies, make your way to the ice rink area! An escape has been arranged for you, help is on hand, some of your companions have left already! Don't get left behind, beat the rush, pretend its a huge blowout sale on freedom."
He laughed airily.
"Everyone else, you are all doing well. Though I'm worried about Nellie and her new boyfriend! People might want to give a hand there. Finn and company, you might want to watch those nippy guys, saw one disembowel a guy earlier before he had time to move, was like one of those kung fu movies. BAM and he dropped. Wonderful. I mean horrible. Well done by the way Jordan on saving the delicate little Shu and makeup man, that tree was just creeping right up on them"
"Well if anyone has any problems, my phone's working. Of course not for you civilians, the infected took out the mobile phone towers and phone lines. So smart of them ha ha ha."

For his part, Lukas hesitated at the idea, eyeing the doors and then the makeshift infirmary in an uncomfortable sort of way. As he stood, he toyed with the key that jangled loose around his wrist, expression serious but the gesture, yes, a bit nervous. He hid it well, but by no means perfectly. "Yeah. Yes, I mean. We should go in, probably smarter as a group than alone." He didn't shake Gretchen's hand. Instead he settled a hand, light, fingertips just barely against the small of her back, as if to guide or escort her forward. "I'm Lukas."
