"You have a beautiful maiden caring for your wounds," Lori reminded Silverwing, wryly. "Stop complaining so much."

Pinzin gave her a grateful smile for her promise and sighed heavily in agreement. The spirits really favored fools. It was the only reason he could see that the two dunderheads were still alive.

Rynga nodded his understanding and began trying to herd the others away from the stranger and her bird. Silverwing and his healer, he left alone, since they were a safe distance away already.

"Since when is red one such big party pooper?" Gregor asked casually. Not that he had to move. He hadn't even moved from the cool waters.

"Even pretty healers work best when allowed to focus on the task at hand," Xara muttered under her breath.

Chrysoar wasn't sure why, but it irked him to hear Lori talk about Xara like that. However he was an entertainer by trade and here he was being called upon to use that skill, "Okay, story, story....oh! I got a good one. It's about the three fools. I am required to state for clarification that no, Lori and I are not fools one and two. That would make Pinzin fool number three and he gets a bit....prickly about that subject..."

"You are a Most kind and beneficent soul...." Amaranth whispered back to Pinzin. "That said, the water is a bit deep and all these witnesses won't be here forever..."

"Well this is quite a state for you," Edea muttered. "At best we're dealing with a bad sprain but I wouldn't be surprised if you broke the thing." She tutted as he began to protest, "You actions, Nemesis, you went on the attack with limited provocation..."

"Since now, apparently," Juan said, wryly.

"Very prickly," Lori confirmed, nodding along to Chrysor's story. He knew better than to step on his friend's hooves until he had a better idea of where the stallion was going.

Pinzin gave a dark grin at that possibility and sighed happily at the fantasy. Yes, that would be satisfying. He gave the mare a gentler, more grateful smile for cheering him up.

Judging the space around the strange pair to be enough, Rynga sighed. He heard the mare's comment and eyed the bird warily. "Limited or no provocation? From what I understand, all Silverwing did was say hello... I'm uncertain where you're from, m'dear, but that's not really a good way to make friends."

"Right, so these three fools are walking and they come across a stream, meaning they see the stream. See, crossing the stream is actually the problem," he prattled about telling the tale to the best of his memory.

Silverwing had to admit, listening to the golden stallion prattle on gave him new perspective on the situation. It could be worse, he could be the pink idiot who had to spend all his time with fool number one.

Xara laughed softly and continued with her work, willing her powers towards healing and smiled to see the effects were there however slowly they progressed.

"Anytime," she replied softly.

"With a name like Nemesis do you think he's here to make friends?" Edea asked wryly sparing a glance at the stallion. "He's intended to be my guardian and protector, I'm afraid he takes his job a little too seriously. He thinks just because it's my first time out that I can't manage myself in...situations..."

Lori chuckled as he recalled the story Chrysor was telling. He loved the way his friend told... or mistold... the tale. Not that he could do much better.

Pinzin blinked as he realized that he may have just had a decent conversation with a stranger. It was a pleasant feeling.

"How else are you supposed to learn how to manage yourself in... situations... if not to actually experience said situations?" Rynga asked, wryly. He kept an eye on the bird.

"Any ways, by the end of it fools one and two drown and the third fool is trapped on a dessert island," he paused and considered. "At least I think that's how it went."

"And all done!" Xara said pleased with her work. "Leave the poultice on for at least 12 hours and then make sure nothing infects the wound and you should be good," she said before moving to her next patient. "I think you may do well with some anger management lessons," she chided settling herself beside the condor.

"I have a sneaking suspicion my father instructed this bird to eliminate all threats to me, of course he views anyone spare the gracious healer as a threat to me..." she stilled as she watched the healer work with Nem and was grateful when the bird seemed to relax, if only slightly, under her care.

"And here we thought we'd get a nice quiet drink before an evening flight, funny how the best laid plans go awry, isn't it?" Amaranth wondered aloud.

"Perhaps it's not everyone but the gracious healer, but rather any males who happen to look at you," Lori mused, thoughtfully. What father wouldn't want to protect his daughter from unwanted, or even wanted, attentions from stallions?

Rynga tensed up when the healer moved closer to the bird, ready to pull her out of harm's way, if needed. He relaxed when the bird did, glad that the bird had accepted the healer close.

Pinzin nodded with a sigh. Plans never went the way they should.

"Oh, he's not a bad fellow at all," Xara cooed moving swiftly but carefully in her examination not worrying too much when the bird let out a low growl. She was there to help him, and if he chose to move at this point she'd have just a bit more to patch up. Mind you, the alicorn wasn't aggressive or unkind by any measure, she just had a fair idea of what she was up against. And a better understanding that there wasn't another healer anywhere near that could manage the things she could. Well, the things she could mostly do with a little help from her herbs and know how. After all, no one was perfect. "Just a little...oh," she frowned finding an unusual point in the wing, she quickly noted that the bird flinched away from her touch here, something she had unconsciously filed away while simultaneously examining the location with greater care. "Well, you're not going to like the sound of this....but this section of the wing may well be broken." This time she blatantly ignored the bird's growling. "I don't think you'll be in any shape to take off after any threats, male or otherwise for some time. Now hold still so I can set this properly or else flying might be out for your permanently."

Edea gasped at the prognosis and turned a withering frown upon the bird, "That serves you right, Nemesis. How could you just go about trying to...I don't know, claw people's eyes out like that? One, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself and two....well two's not even necessary because look back at one!" She growled and stomped her hoof out of frustration, "Now what are we going to do? A broken wing doesn't just heal over night. And we still have a ways to go...." she cast her eyes off to the horizon watching the last traces of sunlight that were steadily fading from the sky. She supposed it would be wise for her to start coming up with a new plan, but to be honest, she didn't even know where to begin. Maybe her father had been right in not wanting her to travel off so far so soon. Maybe she really wasn't read for such adventures yet. "Nemesis, what are we going to do?" she asked out loud, not necessarily at the bird but trying to grapple with her own thoughts.

"You could take the time to allow your companion to heal," Rynga suggested, in his most reasonable tone. "Or, if you're under a time constraint, you could travel by land. Where are you headed, my lady? Perhaps I could offer you a short cut..."

"It would be better for him if he would rest for a while," Xara chimed in though she was unbidden. While the mare was not always the best at standing up for herself, when it came to the well being of her patients she could be very persuasive and at times even slightly forceful. After all, when she invested her time and energy into healing a soul, she didn't appreciate it when they manage to use open the wound back up again undoing all of her hard work. It was just rude.

Edea took a moment to absorb her options while breathing out slowly through her flared nostrils. "Well, I really do want to see Nemesis heal up, the faster would be better but...." she sighed and shook her head. "It would nearly kill that bird if he couldn't fly properly so I don't need to rush him in healing. "It's not that we really have any types of time restraints, I just didn't want to stay in any one place for too long."

"Well if you're stuck here for a while," Silverwing pipped up from out of nowhere. Truly he'd been watching the events unfold from a safe distance at first, but then the gold stallion's prattling had nearly put him off to sleep. But he knew when he was needed and it looked like his good buddy Ringa was trying to play the part of the chivalrous knight. And every chivalrous knight needed another chivalrous knight as a backup type of buddy. And that was him! "Ringa and I would be happy to help you out in any way we can, ma'am," he said quickly. "We could even make sure you have a safe place to stay, whatever you need!" After all, the young stallion wasn't raised in a barn. More of like a frozen mountain top...well, not exactly but you get the idea. Maybe that was where his sister got her warped , cold heart from....it was possible. The point was, he had manners.

"And knowledge of the places you're going," Rynga added, shooting his friend a grateful grin. This was why he hung out with Silverwing. The other stallion knew when to jump in with a helping hoof. "If you're quite insistent on moving, Silverwing and I could accompany you. We could take turns letting your friend ride us, so he won't have to walk or stress his wing... provided he's willing to do so without drawing blood." He eyed the familiar now, suddenly wondering at the wisdom of his offer.

Pinzin watched the exchange and eyed the red and white stallion, praying that he wasn't about to end up with yet another idiotic charge. That would just figure.

"Rest is best..." Xara chimed in again.

"Oh," Edea blinked unsure of what to make of the offer. "Um, I uh..."

Silverwing nodded in agreement with his friend, "Whatever the lady needs, we will do our best to provide. So do not fear! Just let us know what we can do to help you and your wish will be our command." Okay, fine he might have been laying it on a little think. But from the way this mare talked she may well have actually been from a royal family. No matter who she was or what her background may have been, she was a damsel and she was clearly distressed by the prognosis of her traveling companion. Silverwing knew that Rynga just wanted to help the lovely lady out just like he did.

Rynga quickly nodded his agreement, smiling as charmingly as he could at the mare. He hated seeing distressed damsels as he knew his friend did. Right in that moment, he wasn't thinking about how lovely she was... much... but rather how they could best help her. Mostly.
