Shiki wasn't happy to have been told no, but he didn't do anything to further agitate Teito. The Ralts seemed to know Teito wasn't afraid to get rough, even in public. Teito put the ball back in his bag and zipped the thing shut. Now that Shiki's little catching rampage was smothered, they could get back to training. The male turned to start walking again, only to be assaulted by a Poochyena that seemed to want to maul his face. He kept his hand up against it to stop that from happening, but the little thing was surprisingly strong."Axew!"What the hell? When did Kiriwar get out of his ball? Teito watched as the Axew tackled Poochyena and the two tumbled to the ground. Well, this was Kiriwar's fight then....Still. Teito was a bit surprised the little guy was still protective of him.

”That was a cheap move!” The youngster scowled as he returned his fainted Ducklett. Faraday gave a the slightest of nods in admission; it was a bit cheap to put your opponent to sleep. It was also a move available for him to use and he did not feel bad at all. "Them’s the breaks. But don’t worry, I’ll try to avoid using it again." He gave the kid an apologetic smile. It was true too because he primarily wanted Murphy to get the training. He was sort of preparing for a gym battle after all. And just to prove this point, he ushered Sissil back, the Magikit giving a curious gaze before floating back and swapping places with the mud fish. The youngster was still frowning, retrieving his next pokemon and tossing it into battle. Oh… what a shame for the Shuckle.

The youngster was agitated now. Whatever he had thought of Faraday in the beginning, it had quickly been dispatched with this battle. Returning his Shuckle with a grimace, pulling out the last of his pokemon and mumbling under his breath in response. Murphy was still happily chirping away, excited to continue to fighting. Faraday gave another little sympathetic smile as the boy sent out his last pokemon, Murphy not even waiting for a command before smashing it in the face with an Aqua tail attack. The Whimsur, fortunately enough, didn’t have time to produce any kind of horrific noise as it was knocked unconscious. The youngster sighed in defeat, returning his pokemon begrudgingly. Faraday knelt down and gave Murphy a congratulatory pat on the head before stepping forward and offering a hand shake to the youngster. "You did well, I appreciate the battle!" He remarked ina friendly tone. The boy gave a leery glance at his hand before gingerly taking it and giving a shake. His face seemed to shift briefly from disappointment to confusion as his hand drew away and he found an odd little coin suddenly in the palm of his hand. He blinked and stared at it, looking up at Faraday who was simply smiling.
"Oh, oops. Sorry about that." He reached forward, nabbing the coin back up into his hand and giving a squeeze before re-opening his hand again to show it was gone. The boy blinked and stared a moment, the frown slowly fading to a bit of a slight grin. Good, he’d enjoyed it. Faraday tilted his head a bit, reaching back and pulling the old ‘coin from behind the ear’ trick on the lad as well, finally placing the coin back in his palm. "You know what? You can keep that. A token of my appreciation or whatever you kids collect nowadays." And with the slightest of bows he turned and ushered his pokemon along, giving the boy a final little wave. The youngster actually waved back, his mood visibly improved a bit. Good, that was what he was going for. It’d been a good battle after all; no need to leave the boy down.

With a pleasant smile now on his face, Faraday maneuvered his way down the pathways in the direction of the gym. Murphy was happily toddling behind, Dresden right next to her with an approving look on his own face. He’d even given Sissil a look too; the Magikit had handled his own battle rather well. Sure, he’d put the thing to sleep but that was tactic and tactic went a long way. Finally they found their way outside the doors of the gym. Faraday took a moment to pause and address his team again before they entered. "Alright all, this is our first gym battle. Let’s make it quick and painless." He paused as everyone seemed to respond, smile fading a bit as a curious frown appeared in its place. Where was Calcifer? He waved the thought off with a brief flick of his wrist. He had more important things to handle.
He stepped through the doors of the gym, eyes going wide in impressed surprise. Right, he’d heard that the gym leader was a fan of rocks and fossils and such. It only made sense they’d be splayed about the gym. Taking a few minutes he browsed each of the cases and their fossil occupants. He’d have to look up these things later if he got the chance; they had the technology nowadays to bring pokemon back from their fossil states. Maybe there was something worthwhile in one of them. Once he was done being looking he made his way to the back of the gym where the gym platform was. The young woman seemed engaged in a rather serious discussion with another studious looking type as he interrupted, gaze shifting to Faraday.
"Hey there! I’m looking to challenge the gym leader?" He remarked. The young woman gave a curt nod, stepping away from the intern to the battle field. She patted down her skirt, retrieving a pokeball. ”Of course. My name is Roxanne, and I am the Rustboro gym leader.” She gave a little nod in Faraday’s direction, the man perking up and giving a bit of a bow as he took his own spot on the field. ”I look forward to this battle, I hope it will be quite informative!” Faraday had to quirk an eyebrow; boy she was very… proper wasn’t she? That was nice.

Roxanna didn't utter a word as she returned her Nosepass, though a small smile flittered across her face afterwards. "Congratulations on your victory," she chirped, even offering Faraday a curtsey to go along with it. "You've definitely shown your knowledge in type advantages, if you were a student I'd give you an A." The gym leader figured that was enough praise and from her pocket she retrieved the gym's badge and two discs. "I present to you the Stone badge, TM26 and HM01, Earthquake and Cut respectively. I hope you find use in both."

A proud grin crossed Faraday’s face, eyes glancing to Murphy as she toddled over to him. He knelt down to retrieve her, letting the little thing resume her primary place in the front of his shirt. Dresden gave a swipe of his head as well, arms crossing over his chest as he watched the gym leader approach his trainer. Both of them had done an amazing job, but he had expected no less from his team. They’d taken the few hits they’d received on the chin and finished the battle in a timely fashion. It was wonderful really.
The man gave the young woman a bow of his own, grin shimmering down to a pleasant smile. "Well thank you, miss. I’m sure my parents would appreciate that." He joked, focusing on the things she offered to him. He reached a hand out and took the badge, glancing at it in the palm of his hand briefly before clamping it into a fist and giving a little roll of his wrist, reopening it for the badge to be missing. He looked un-phased by this, instead reaching and taking the two discs as well. "Thank you very much! I’m certain I will." He mused and with the same twist and roll of his hands, the discs sort of vanished as well. Of course, nothing had really disappeared; instead through well versed sleight of hand he’d shimmied them into his coat pocket to be added to his bag later. With another little bow and a wave goodbye, he ushered his pokemon along and out the gym’s door. A trip to the pokemon center was in order and then… on to the real work.

Faraday ushered his team to the pokemon center, handing them off to the Nurse Joy in charge before promptly taking a seat at one of the tables as he waited. The grin was still on his face from winning his badge and without a moment of hesitation, he was searching through his contacts for Addison’s information. He’d accomplished his side of the deal and now it was time to receive some proper work.
One ring, two rings, three rings… four… eventually the call diverted to voice mail causing the grin to subside to a disappointed frown. It usually wasn’t like her to not answer his calls when he made them; though maybe in this particular situation, there was a reason for it? He cancelled the call, tapping under his chin lightly a moment before issuing a text instead. Maybe she’d catch it sooner? There was another message from his sister as well and once he’d finished the first text he’d gone about answering her as well. With both those done, Faraday pulled out his pokedex, turning on the tracker and searching for Calcifer. The bleep was apparently still within the city it seemed, though he couldn’t quite pinpoint without a map for reference where that was. What is the cooperation here in town? That was something to go check out maybe.

Faraday retrieved and released his pokemon as they returned from their healing, giving the Nurse Joy a gracious smile and thank you as he headed out the door. Stretching a bit he ushered his pokemon to follow along. There was still to word or message back from Addison which was rather perturbing, but there was nothing more he could do to provoke a faster result. Which meant that he would just have to keep moving of his own accord. A shame really; he would've preferred to be out and about doing important things at this moment in time. But until then, he'd just allow his pokemon to do some more training. At some point he'd probably be told to get the second gym badge... so maybe it was worth getting a start on that.

Walking Pokemon ⇨
The walk over to the pokemon center was a fairly long one, but that was fine by the teen. He was starting to get used to all the walking involved in being a trainer, and it was at least doing him a little good. Even without his difficulties, there weren't many places to wander around within Lavaridge. With how much larger most of the other cities and towns were, not to mention the areas in between, it had been difficult to travel from place to place at first. Now, though, it was starting to get easier for Cameron. Still daunting, but easier.
After reaching it, it didn't take long for the teen's pokemon to be healed up. Not that there was much damage to heal in the first place. Sure, Allegro and Courante had taken some hits, but considering their victory was due to their restorative attacks, they were in much better shape than they could have been in. While waiting, Cameron let out the rest of his pokemon so they could get something to eat. Once Allegro and Capriccio were ready to be picked up, the teen let them out so they could get some lunch as well. After everyone had enough to eat, Cameron recalled everyone except Capriccio and left, letting the oddly-colored surskit follow along nearby.

In fact a bridge was the best and fastest way to the other side. A light breeze disturbed the waters surface but was other wise a mirror of the bright blue sky above. The bug pokemon of the forest still buzzed about the tree tops behind and around them. On occasions one would buzz by their heads as if annoyed with them being around.
The field would later lead to the city gates. A large iron fence surrounded the city in all directions, preventing wild pokemon just entering and causing trouble or getting hurt. An officer jenny waved them by as they entered. Plusle and Minun waved back. "Well here it is sis, Rustboro city." Sin said "Yep, yep yep, lets go find the center and get something to eat. Im staved !" Nis proclaimed loadly as she run up ahead turning to look back still mid stride. Sin just shuck his head slightly amused with his sisters hyper active nature.

Beating the gym leaders as a couple as Ko had put it only reinforced the feeling.
