Sammy glanced across at the girl not really knowing what to make of the remark, so she just forced an awkward smile out of herself. "Ahh...okay...good to know." She could humor it like it was good news, she was probably just messing with her anyway. They started into the building side-by-side, the girl's arm still hooked around her neck, though it wasn't all that difficult to maneuver. When at last the reaper got her to confess her name, she had to admit, it caught her by surprise. One didn't hear a name like Genevieve too often. "...pretty." she said softly to herself.

Falinn - Anon

At Falinn asking for a map Monster began to rustle around in his knapsack, "A map, a map... Ah hah!" He then pulled out an old map when suddenly there was a crashing from afar, and hid behind the River that was hidden behind Falinn.

"Oh yes, we're definitely staying away from there." As the dust settled over near the roller coaster and the danger didn't seem imminent, Monster unfolded the faded park map he'd found earlier. "Let's see... we're here by the gate, so the game booths will be this way!" The werehog pointed towards their goal and began to lead the way.

Lady Ravena Vauville

Upon reaching the House of Mirrors, Tobias saw why the sign had been so hard to read. It looked as if some of the letters had been knocked off. Rather dingy outlines were all that indicated what letters had once been in a few places.
He had been about to head in when he heard a loud crash. Ruby eyes flashed in the night as he turned toward the sound. There was a large cloud of dust rising up. Hold on, hadn't there been something over there before? His eyes narrowed as he continued to look in that direction and try to recall what had been there.
Being that he had never been here when the place was open, he'd only gotten a quick look at most of the place as he came to the House of Mirrors. At any rate, something had probably just become nearly, if not completely, inaccessible. Which then begged the question, was it done with purpose? Either way, it was more apparent now that others were here. With something like the astrolabe possibly stashed away here, chances were slim that whatever had crashed had done so purely from disuse and the breeze.
For now, Tobias returned his attention to the task at hand. He was about to head in when voices caught his attention. Seemed some people and uh, well he wasn't sure what that other being was, but who was he to question, were heading toward the Haunted House.
The horned male was fairly certain he heard and recognized Sammy's voice, but just then he heard another familiar voice. This one was much closer, though he couldn't feel it as she nearly ran into him. His gaze settled on her and he smiled giving a small bow of his head.
"Hello, Rae-Rae my dear. This is an interesting coincidence, though really I am not surprised you came here. I am sure the same thing brought us to this place. However, my reasoning is for little more than curiosity. I wonder what the thing is capable of, yet I rather doubt I would have any use for it. Best for it to be back in a safe place, yes?"
Here he winked and looked back at the House of Mirrors.
"I thought I would have a look around here, shall we go together?"

((No need to fret, it's alright to enjoy and show you appreciate a gift. ))

"Hey now, what if someone hears you?" Ravena muttered, making shushing gestures. Toby was one of the only people allowed to call her that, and although she didn't mind, they were out in public now and it might be embarrassing if someone else heard him call her that. The princess couldn't have actually run into him, seeing as he wasn't yet solid, but she had felt the decrease in temperature that let her know he was there.

"So, you're looking for the astrolabe, too? That's a bit surprising, I didn't think it would interest you. But, as long as you're here.." Keeping her voice low, she turned to finally examine the building facing them. It was definitely run down, letters missing in places from the sign, and the roof didn't exactly look very stable. Caution would be needed here. She agreed with him there. such a powerful celestial object shouldn't be left out to where just anyone can find it. If the wrong person should get a hold of it, the Starlight Princess loathed to think what might happen.

"Yes, I think that would be best. I was going to go solo, but if there was anyone capable of keeping up with me, it'd be you. Want to lead the way?" Well, he wasn't the only one who could; her sister was fairly adept at keeping up with her nonsense, but she hadn't seen the redhead in awhile, and Rai would have alerted her if she too decided to look for the astrolabe. Speaking of certain guardian stars, they wouldn't want for light while he was around, as he always emitted a steady glow. Starlight was far more reliable than electrical light, which could go out at any moment.

((Well, I'm back in my adventuring gear now. It was fun being Dragon Mama though, so I may do it again sometime.))

Chuckling, he put his hands up in mock surrender.
"Alright, I shall keep that one out of the public ear then."
Tobias gave a slight shrug as his gaze went back to the building before them.
"I suppose even I can be surprising at times. But two heads are better than one, as they say. I can lead if you like, might be best if any places seem less than stable for you."
With a nod, the smokey form of her friend moved toward the entrance. Of course there was no light inside, but it didn't bother him and Rae had her star for light. Just inside was a small entry way with a sort of drawing of what the attraction held. The first floor was all mirror maze ending somewhere on the other side with a stair case leading up. The second floor had what he was guessing was only half a maze. Then there were windows to look out from as one crossed the last half to get to a large winding slide. This slide then deposited one in another small room beside the one they were now in. Turning to her, he gestured at the picture.
"It appears this is a maze in two parts. I have some doubts about the floor integrity on the second story. Please be very careful, alright? I am aware you can take care of yourself, but this place is less than fit to be wandering around in."
His attention then fixed on the start of the maze. A few of the panes were broken or cracked. At this point though, he wasn't sure if that would be more help or hindrance.

((I hope it's alright, I pulled from memory of the house of mirrors at the first fair I remember going to. ))

The pie...? The pie! He had completely forgotten what was in that container he was clutching onto. But with that happy reminder, did he suddenly lose the will to go anywhere... Couldn't they just stay here and eat instead? No wait, it wasn't safe... And people might just come to steal his pie. He could not let that happen. NEVER!

And with that, the zombie dashed out of the pile and ran forth, holding onto the pie and... a plush bunny? Priorities. Minty could do her own running, this rabbit could not. And how could he leave such a cute thing behind? The damsel in distress, however, would have to save herself this time, as the "hero" had already run straight past.

Orrin had taken off like a shot, lumbering into the distance with the pie clutched to his chest like a precious treasure. Minty had not even been aware he could run that fast. With the only person who knew where they were going quickly getting out of sight, she took to her heels.

The booths blurred past as Minty tried to catch up, ignoring the stitch in her side. Gosh. When was the last time she'd exercised? Probably before Christmas. If they made it out of the fairgrounds tonight it was back to the gym with her sorry butt.

"Thank you, I appreciate that." Not that there was anyone else too close by, but you can never really be sure in a place like this. Toby was right, he should take the lead. He wasn't solid, and it might be useful should she accidentally lose her footing. Steeling herself, she followed Toby through the entrance, trusting him to lead the way. Her sight was pretty good these days, attributed to her auric powers. Rae needed a way to defend herself, and channeling her auric energy was as good a defense as any.

Treading carefully, she paused beside the picture to glance over it briefly. The tiny princess didn't have the best memory, but she was working on it as part of her princess training. She calls it "princess training", but really she's being prepared for a much greater station: Queen. A huge responsibility, but she made her decision, and she's sticking to it. That said, the darkness didn't bother her so much, although it did remind her of that one Silent Hill game where you visit the creepy run down park. Now Ravena was thinking about bloody pink bunny suits and the possibility of someone being inside.

Shuddering, she studied the picture carefully and nodded, turning towards the nest door. "Alright," she said with far more conviction than she felt. "I'll be careful. Besides, I have you and Raiden to guide me." If there was danger ahead, she was well equipped to deal with it. Rae had no visible weapons on her person, but should she need one, all she had to do was signal to her star, and he would bring her one of many pony backpacks she owned for just such an occasion. None of them matched her outfit, so she wasn't wearing one. Even princesses must be conscientious of their fashion choices. For now, she would wait for the smokey figure to lead the way before following in his wake.

((It's okay. I've never been to something like this before, so your knowledge will be far more useful than mine.))

"I am happy to oblige, Rae my dear."
The picture was really of little help. It was merely a simplistic way to show what was in the attraction. They couldn't make it too easy on people after all. No, one had to find their way through by trial and error.
A difficult to see smile quirked his lips at the corners when she spoke.
"True, and I doubt either of us is apt to let you get stuck without a helping hand."
Moving toward the entrance and the first wall, he again gazed at the the broken shards of mirror on the ground.
"Tread lightly, I suspect more than the first few mirrors may have been broken."
With that, his figure began to move into the maze of cracked and broken mirrors. Shattered reflections looked back at them from any number of places that a piece of mirror was. Tobias paused at one wall where all of the mirrors was on the floor as a thought occurred.
"Do you think any of these backing could be moved? That might prove a good hiding place for something."
His gaze shifted to her as he waited to hear her thoughts. If one were able to move the backing enough to slip through a wall, it opened up more places to search. However, the building seemed less than steady and it might not be wise to attempt that. Even if he were to go through to check, finding it meant he'd have to become solid to pick it up. Which also meant eventually having to move the backing to get back out. This was going to take some careful thought.

((I shall do my best to help you visualize it then. ))

"Thank goodness for that." Well, either way, it was good to stop and take stock of one's surroundings. At least Ravena could see her friend in front of her thanks to Rai's light. Enhanced vision or no, a figure of smoke is hard to see in darkness.

Pffft, broken glass? Whatever, this princess has no time for that. She walks right over it, feeling the satisfactory crunch beneath her shiny red boots. "Don't worry babe, these boots were made for walkin'." They were made of toughened material, so there was no need to worry. As they walked through the broken maze of mirrors, Rae was fascinated by all the reflections. This must have been a booming place back in the day, the carnie folk abundant, the smell of gross saturated and over processed carnival food in the air, and the bright lights and machine noises everywhere you looked.

"Hm? It's a possibility. Need some help with it?" The Starlight Princess was currently studying herself in one of the rare intact mirrors, mostly making sure her makeup was still on point. Glancing his way, she made her way over yet more broken glass to where Toby was looking at a separate wall of broken mirrors. It was a good question after all. Maybe this was an opportunity for Raiden to earn his salt.

"Well, if we do end up moving things around, I can ask Rai to help us. His humanish form could come in handy." She hadn't told anyone her star had a human form before. He only took that form when his princess was in serious danger, or whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on. Perhaps the fussy old man could put that celestial strength to use. Actually, would he be able to touch the astrolabe should they be the ones to find it? It was worth thinking about.

((You're doing a wonderful job so far, and should anyone else like to explore the house of mirrors, they have your description to go on.))

Lady Ravena Vauville

Shaking his head, he just chuckles at her words as she crunches over the pieces.
"Alright, as long as you are sure you will be fine."
Mulling it over a little more as she joined him, he did nod. No point in simply wondering if the astrolabe was to be found. Some chances would have to be taken.
"Perhaps, though I hate to ask you to do something I can do myself. Oh? Rai can do that?"
His gaze moved to the star, squinting at it. Gazing back at her, he blinked a few times as if to clear away too much brightness.
"That could help. Will he be brighter?"
Part of him hated to ask, but it was going to be hard to look in that direction if he was any brighter. His hand appeared to move along the blank wall, again he debated simply going through and checking.
"Really this will all be a moot point if we find the backing has not been moved. Thus we should just check if it seems to be easily moved first."

((Thank you, I do try. ))

Sammy put an arm out in front of her and felt around in the dark. "Very well, Gwen it is. Man, this place would be easier to find our way through if it weren't so flippin' dark..." she commented a little quieter, trying to feel her way through the first floor maze.

*No problem! Stuff happens*

Xashowd nodded with a smile. "As you wish." He and the Reapling turned towards the interior, and found that the maze started where they entered, branching off in two directions. He heard Sammy's comment about it being dark, and realized she probably didn't have the same night vision the rest of the party had. "Lemme see if I have something..." Xashowd started rummaging through his bag for something that could be used as a light source. Thanaphyr shook his head and looked around for a light switch, but found none near the entrance. "Huh...Guess they really wanted to monopolize the creepy factor, huh?" "Got it!" Xashowd exclaimed, pulling out a small, translucent orb from his pack. "Lux." The orb lit up upon his command, bathing the area in a soft cool light. He handed it to Sammy. "This should help. I always carry a few just in case."

Sammy turned and took the glowing orb from Xashowd, clearly fascinated by the look in her eyes. "Pretty...how does it work...?" she asked, observing it at different angles. Shaking her head and snapping out of it, she realized they had a job to do. "Uh, right!" Moving dutifully she started to navigate the maze, moving partly out of logic, and part of instinct.

Xashowd smiled at Sammy's reaction. "It's a Lumosphere. Mages across various worlds use it as a light source. Suffice to say it runs on magic. If the holder has a high affinity for light magic, it shines more brightly." Xashowd explained as he and Thanaphyr followed her into the maze. As if on cue, the Lumosphere glowed a little brighter. "Hey, not bad! Getting through here should be a breeze now." The Reapling exclaimed. Xashowd nodded, intrigued that Sammy's touch made the Lumosphere brighter. He wondered for a few moments if she knew any magic before refocusing on their task of finding the Astrolabe. He scanned the walls as they walked, looking for even the slightest sign they had been altered beyond the decay. Nothing yet...Though finding it on the first floor would be too easy. He pulled the map back out, looking at the Basement. Thanaphyr said he couldn't make out what it said, and Xashowd found out why. Just like an old map there were a few holes in the lettering, but they were uniform, as though it had been intentional. Guess they needed to make some kind of surprise... He said, shaking his head. There were a few letters that could be made out though...

"B.w..re t.. ..bb.rw..k!"

Xashowd tilted his head. Well that's maddeningly unhelpful... He put the map away and resumed scanning. They'd find out what the "Bbrwk" was eventually...He just hoped it was a prop.
