Ponyta suddenly skids to a halt, digging in its hooves as it's distracted by something rustling in the bushes off to one side of the track. Vortex shakes her head. "Please, don't do this! You're the best Ponyta ever! Just a little further, okay? We've almost caught the Swablu!"

At Vortex's urging, Ponyta reluctantly quits fussing with the bushes and sets off along the track once again, slowly picking up the pace.

Flua was moving with impressive speed, even for not being in water.. But Mako wasn't too surprised. He knew his prized Pokemon was a feat to compete with in any sort of realm! His teeth grit tightly as he watched others ahead of him.. no..

Ponyta suddenly bolts forward, pounding across the finish line to nose curiously at the Swablu as it lands. Or that was the plan, anyway... the fire horse is running too fast, and overshoots its goal by a few steps, so it has to turn around and walk back. It noses happily at the fluffy white wings.
