Keiko was a bit surprised by that, but realized what she was doing and berated herself for it. "Darn it, I can't keep taking it easy on Yuki because she's cute! She won't get any stronger that way!" she yelled. "Double-edge, Audrey!"

Audrey rushed ahead, looking to tackle Yuki into the ground. The Pichu was faster, but only by a margin, and because of Audrey's size compared to hers, she coudn't avoid the attack. Because the move hurt her, too, Audrey took a bit of time to get back up, which meant Yuki had to wait for her before she could get up.

To our surprise, however, Yuki was spouting a bit more electricity than a simple Thunder Shock would contain. Yuki started chanting in Pokespeak, and as she did, her electricity increased even further. Eventually, after a little yelling, it permeated the field, replacing Audrey's close-to-evaporating Misty Terrain with her own Electric Terrain.

Keiko was speechless, which was my cue. "Push the advantage!" I yelled, which incited Yuki to let her electricity flash once more, using Thunder Wave against Audrey that, without protection, paralyzed her at last.

Audrey had a hard time moving thanks to her paralysis, which only seemed to infuriate Keiko. This was only supposed to be training, but her Trainer's blood was burning brightly. "I know you can't move, Audrey, but try to sing, at least. Disarming Voice."

Audrey, despite the difficulty in doing so, used Disarming Voice, throwing more Fairy-type energy Yuki's way. It hurt for a while, but she was ready to put an end to this battle. She allowed Dark-type energy to wash over her body once more via a third Nasty Plot, and once that was over, utilized her speed over Audrey by charging another Thunder Shock.

(I'm sick of your crap!) Yuki would yell in Pokespeak before letting the quad-enhanced* Thunder Shock fly, striking Audrey straight in the chest and making her fly back. Keiko ran over to Audrey in shock, but once she realized Audrey was still in the fight, she got serious again.

"Last Resort," was all she said.

"Wait, isn't that-" I started to say, but by then, it was too late. Audrey, with surprising speed considering both her low health and her paralysis, leaped over Yuki, as if to Double-Edge again. But before either Yuki or myself could react, she would disappear, reappearing in front of Yuki before planting a fist in her tiny stomach, causing her to retch in pain and get knocked against the wall.

As I ran over to Yuki, Keiko realized what she just did and started to panic, covering her face with her eyes in shame. Fortunately, Yuki tried to get up after that, but she didn't have the energy to do so, so I put her back in her ball before walking up to Keiko and comforting her.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, sounding as if on the verge of tears. "I wasn't trying-"

"I know," I said, cutting her off. "You didn't want to actually hurt her. Your trainer's blood was just burning too bright."

This gave Keiko pause, as she was unfamiliar with the term. "Trainer's...?"

"You know that feeling when you're in a battle, and your energy just builds up, and your mind is filled with defiance, like you just can't afford to lose? That. I call it the Trainer's blood burning. Some would call it pride, but I kinda feel like that's a little too asinine. Anyway, let's go hang out and calm down while Audrey and Yuki rest up."

"Y-yeah..." Keiko smiled despite the wetness of her eyes. We both recalled our Pokemon and headed to the kitchen to enjoy each other's company for a while.

"Should we do this without Mistress?" Rala asked as we entered the training room, following me in.

"Let her have her beauty sleep," I shrugged. "Besides, it's like I keep telling her, she's not the only one that wants my team stronger."

I let Sauron out of his ball before taking out my SNAG, getting some drones activated. "Alright, Sauron, let's practice your Razor Leaf. See those tiny robots in the air, there? Take them out."

Sauron complied, flinging razor-sharp leaves this way and that. Unfortunately, due to its lack of experience, very few of the leaves struck their targets, and the ones that did simply bounced off the drones, having not effect.

Sauron looked up at me nervously. It was clear that he was looking to impress with that move, but now he was worried that I was displeased with him. I showed no emotion. "Again," was all I said.

He was worried over my lack of emotion, but did as he was told, scattering another round of razor sharp leaves. He had little more success in landing hits, but the effectiveness of the leaves didn't change.

"Focus, Sauron," I told him. I was starting to get annoyed, but I tried not to let it show. I wanted to show him a gentle side, that I wasn't angry at him for being weak, but he had to earn that. Coddling him wouldn't improve his strength. "Concentrate on your targets. They're not moving, so the only thing you need to worry about is landing hits for now. Try to land as many hits with your leaves as you can."

Sauron gave the move another attempt, but it was clear that he was only throwing the leaves. He did land more hits, but the leaves didn't alter their course while in air. Sauron smiled when he saw how many leaves had landed, but when he turned to seek praise he saw me facepalm. It seemed that we would be here for a while if I was to make him understand how the move was properly executed.

"I'm not mad at you Sauron," I told the little Bulbasaur, who looked like he was about to fall or run in despair. "But you have GOT to try harder. I know you're used to using your vines, but you have the ability to become proficient in other forms of attack."

"Allow me, Master," Rala spoke up telepathically, walking past Sauron before looking down at him. "Watch how I do this, little one," she said gently, wary of Sauron's Psychic weakness. She then focused on the drones and and picked up Sauron's scattered leaves with Grass-type energy via Magical Leaf, the sharp edges dulled by the move. However, their effectiveness only increased as Rala danced around the drones, spinning so that the leaves encircled her, striking the drones as she drew close to them. Sauron looked on in awe, as he could feel the energy the leaves had been enveloped in. I couldn't help but smirk, remembering the Pokemon she learned that move to honor.

When Rala was done, she stood beside Sauron as I summoned more drones with my SNAG. "You saw that, right? Rala made short work of those drones with your leaves, and she isn't even a Grass-type. You have a lot more potential with Grass-type moves than she does, and don't start thinking it's because she's fully evolved while you're still in your base form, because we're swiftly running out of time for excuse-making."

I walked in front of Sauron and picked up a leaf that had been dulled by Rala's attack. "Focus on this leaf. Use your energy to lift it up, and we'll continue your training."

Sauron focused on the leaf, struggling to push all his energy onto the leaf, but instead of doing that, he just stared at it as if trying to move it with his mind. I sighed, and used my SNAG to create a forest setting within the training room. "You can't force it to move by thinking about it, Sauron. You have to feel it out. Feel the energy in the leaf, grab on to it, and bring it out."

Sauron closed his eyes, trying to feel for the leaf. Slowly, the leaf started moving, as if affected by the wind. But before long, it was levitating, and lightly spinning. When Sauron opened his eyes, he smiled, not needing the lack of sight to use his energy anymore.

Alright, I smirked, standing up. "Time for the advanced class."

Taking my place behind Sauron, I looked up at the drones. "Now, try hitting the drones again. But this time, use your energy to control where the leaves go."

Sauron complied, picking up most of the leaves up with Grass-type energy. The leaves he picked up that were dulled by Rala's attack became sharp again due to Sauron's influence. He then flung them at the drones, striking and destroying each one. Sauron smiled when he saw how effective energy-laden leaves were, and I couldn't help but smirk, too. I pulled out my SNAG to summon more drones, and this time, set them to move erratically and randomly. "Alright, this should be a little bit challenging, but to make sure you're trying your best, we don't leave until you can destroy every drone in a single use of Razor Leaf."

Sauron panicked a bit, but was determined to impress me, so he threw out the strongest Razor Leaf he could. But in his effort to use his strength, he didn't focus on control as much as he should, and only destroyed half. I sighed, summoning more. "Don't worry about power, or damage. Focus on accuracy for now."

Sauron berated himself silently a little, then went back on work, focusing on where his leaves went in relation to the drones. He didn't quite have it down pat, however, and a few drones survived.

"Again," I said sternly as I respawned more drones.

Fed up with his failures, Sauron poured as much energy into his attack as he could, and instead of Razor Leaf, he wound up using Petal Leaf instead. All of the drones were hit with this attack, but because Sauron's proficiency was in physical moves, the drones weren't destroyed. Though it was clear to see that they had been damaged.

"Alright, that's enough," I said to Sauron, who was panting heavily from exertion. "You've improved plenty today. Let's take a rest."

Sauron, glad that I at least acknowledged his effort, didn't dodge the beam from his Pokeball. Rala seemed a bit surprised that I was moving to leave, though. "Master? You still have time..."

"I know. But Sauron needs rest, and I could use some breakfast," I shrugged before heading out, with Rala walking behind me.

Walking Into the training room Fenrir's hands went to Hax's and Chomps poke balls releasing the two dragons from their confines. The pokemon looked around confused because in front of them stood only their trainer and not an opposing pokemon to deal with. "Ok you guys, Were gonna do some super training today to get you ready future events." He said watching the little dragons and looking for some positive or negative reactions to his announcement. "Gib-Gible!" the youngest dragon shouted before jumping a foot Into the air and shooting forwards Into Fenrir's stomach freaking out in happiness like a little spazz that Fenrir assumed he might turn Into.

"Omph! okay, okay, okay get off of me you little turd." Fen said laughing a little before wrapping his hands around the chomp and pulling the Spazz off of him. As soon as the child chilled, Fenrir cleared his throat and did his best to focus on the task at hand which was training Hax and giving Chomp something of an example to follow. " Now, I want the two you to start thinking of the three of us as a family. We're always going to have each others back and Im going to be hard on the both of you but never doubt my love for the both of you." Fenrir said before turning around to face the control panel and then hit the button.

Behind his back Hax was was looking at Chomp with what could be considered a raised eye brow. Chomp how ever didn't give much of a reaction, like the child that he was and just accepted what his trainer said.

"Hax, were going to practice your accuracy and Increase it as much as possible today," Fen said hitting a button only to have moving targets drop from the ceiling and popping up from the floor at a rather fast pace. "Okay Hax show your little brother what you got." He said as Axew rushed forward swiping at the targets left and right. The first hit was dead on but after the first target, his attacks were hitting off to the left and the right causing only slight chunks missing from the wooden targets. "This Is why we lost against other formidable trainers, you need to stop referring to father lessons and focus on your strengths. Your not a poison type nor do you have any moves that can chip away at your opponents health," Fen lectured Hax. " Now lets try again."

Chomp jumped up and down making a bunch of noise as Hax tried again and again and again exceeding a little with every try. "Alright mix it up Hax, Your a physical attacker but throwing In some special moves will keep them guessing." Fenrir said as Hax let loose a dragons breath obliterating a target In one go before moving onto the next one only Nicking it in the process. Crossing his arm, Fen looked down at the little dragon that panting heavily trying to catch his breath. Their were signs of fatigue but unfortunately his stamina still had a long way to go and the only way to increase it was to push past your limits. " You still go through to much energy all at once, the only time your able to go far beyond your limits are In life and death situations." He said before hitting another button and a giant tread mill appeared.

"Were going to have to Increase your stamina before we can get to the hard core stuff." Hax took a deep breath and looked down at the floor in both depression and what might of been Irritation before moving over to the treadmill. " Its okay, Your doing fine Axew. We both have a long way to go. We promised to help each other right?" Fend said as his Pokemon shook his head "Hax!" the Pokemon said before jumping onto the tread mil with his resolve restored and his morale a little higher then usual.

Having stayed up a bit late the night before, it was about midday when I entered the Super Training Room even though I intended to enter as soon as possible. I took a moment to take inventory of my team. Deciding that Sauron was the closest of my team to evolving (despite his lack of experience), I let him out of his ball and set the Super Training Room to the forest setting. But before I spoke, I rubbed the little Grass-type's head. I didn't want his mind clouded by fear or disappointment during this exercise, and I could sense both of those emotions strongly within him, unlike the last time I attempted to train him.

"We're gonna focus on your use of Grass-type energy today," I told him. "While your strongest attacks are based on your physical strength, practicing with attacks that are based on your special strength will help you to grow more attuned to Grass-type energy, which will improve all your Grass-type moves."

After seeing Sauron nod in approval, and sensing a bit of happiness from him from me spending time with him, I let Rala out of her ball. "I want you to focus on the energy Rala uses," I told Sauron, which gave Rala an idea of what I'd be asking her to do. "Don't try to control her moves, because her special strength is very high. I just want you to see with your mind what she's doing. Take your time and feel the Grass-type energy in the air when she uses her moves."

Despite saying that, I knew Rala only had the one move that used that type of energy - Miracle Leaf. Sauron knew that move, too, by some miracle of breeding. Since I got his egg as a gift, I couldn't say why that was, but it worked in my favor, so I couldn't exactly complain.

I nodded at Rala, and she began emitting Grass-type energy. Despite the environmental setting the Super Training Room was in, the only leaves in the room were in Sauron's posession, So, and perhaps because she knew Sauron was watching for the sake of learning, she created her own leaves with the energy she was emitting. She lifted her arms up in a ballerina-esque pose, and the leaves encircled her. I used my SNAG to request the appearance of drones, and, as could be expected of a Pokemon of Rala's power, she made short work of them. It wasn't until the energy faded that Sauron opened his eyes. To my surprise, before I could order him to imbue his leaves with energy, he created a few of his own energy leaves - a testament to his progress. Being close to evolving certainly improved his abilities, though he would require more experience in battle to be truly formidable. I was impressed with that much progress alone, though. Despite that, however, he couldn't continue from there, as he lacked the special strength to make enough energy leaves to fight with.

"Well done!" I praised him, rubbing his head - though I had to avoid touching his energy leaves in doing so for obvious reasons. "That's not what I was going to ask you to do, but the fact that you were able to manipulate that much energy at once is impressive at your current state."

Sauron seemed eager at the praise I was giving him, but curious as to my intention, so I explained as I had GRAY provide more clones, setting them to light movement. "I want you to use your energy to manipulate your Razor Leaves. Focus on them while they're in air so you can aim with them, even after using the move itself. The targets I've got set up for you are set to move, so you'll have to focus - but I don't want you closing your eyes. The drones aren't emitting energy, so you'll have to rely on both your sense of sight and your sense of energy to strike them."

Sauron nodded, and turned his head to focus on the drones. He released his leaves, and for a second they floated in place - an indicator that Sauron had control of them. He launched the leaves quickly, though - focusing heavily as he practically carried them to their targets with his energy. He was certainly trying hard. The drones were destroyed in short order.

"Man, you really have improved," I commented, gushing a bit. I didn't give Sauron a chance to respond, however, summoning three times the amount of drones as before. "Alright, you don't have enough leaves to take them all out in one go, so focus on control. The energy you put into your leaves will burst when the leaf strikes the target, so you'll need to invest additional energy to regain control of spent leaves."

Sauron nodded at me, but I could feel his nervousness. It was true that I was asking a bit much of him, but neither he nor I knew his current limit, and that's something we'd have to find if we wanted to fine-tune his training. He did what he was asked, launching his leaves at the new group of enemies. To his credit, he destroyed almost all the drones, catching spent leaves and throwing them at new targets. He didn't spend as much energy 'carrying' leaves, though - knowing he'd need to save his remaining energy, he merely launched the leaves using his energy, sometime spending a little extra when a leaf required a course correction to hit its target, and applying energy to a leaf when it was about to land on a drone, to make sure the drone was destroyed. He couldn't keep up the attack, however, and once there were only a few left, he lost his balance and plopped onto his belly, his energy well and truly spent.

"Wow, Sauron is really trying hard!" Keiko cooed. I turned my head to look at her, wondering how long she was standing there. Azurill was standing beside her, smiling widely. The little Water-type was amazed by Sauron's effort, it seemed. "Oh, sorry! I just got here. I decided I'd done enough sitting around last year and wanted to get some training done myself. No offense, but I'm surprised you're in here."

I smirked, feeling a bit of pride. She had a point, and she was right to be surprised, but I hadn't told her my new year's resolution yet. If I had, she wouldn't be as surprised. "Well, Sauron's tuckered himself out, so you can have the room if you want," I told her.

She smiled, and walked up to where I was standing. I walked past her, and only then remembered to recall Sauron. I leaned against a wall at that point and watched my girlfriend work.

"Okay, Azurill, sweetie," Keiko cooed. I could feel her Trainer's blood boiling already. It was based on pride, so it was certainly an emotion I could sense. "Let's practice your Bubble!"

Before Azurill could attempt to use the move, Keiko used her SNAG to summon a small amount of drones. "Alright, try to hit the robots, okay?" Keiko asked sweetly.

Azurill complied, summoning small amounts of Water-type energy into water bubbles before having them rush surprisingly quickly at the drones. The bubbles didn't have enough energy to destroy any of the drones, however - looked like Keiko was in the same spot I was in when I first started training Sauron.

I smiled despite the disappointment Keiko wasn't able to hide efficiently. To be honest, it was impressive that Azurill was able to use that much energy when the environmental setting was still on Forest. I swapped it to Beach when Keiko wasn't watching me, and chuckled a bit at her surprised expression. Apparently, she didn't know she could do that.

"This should help Azurill's training, some," I said happily, with Keiko blowing me a kiss in gratitude as a response to my helpfullness. "Okay, try again, Azurill!"

Azurill blew another small group of bubbles, able to hit each drone with one. This was the same result as before, but this time, the drones were destroyed by the attacks. Azurill was rewarded with a squeal and a tight hug, making it feel happy and more than a little proud of its accomplishment. Though Keiko had caught Azurill fairly recently, it was clear that she shared a strong bond with the water mouse.

I walked up to the pair, thinking Keiko was satisfied. "Named her yet?" I asked, getting a distressed look from Keiko for my efforts. "I'm working on it!" she squeaked. It was rare that Keiko went this long without naming a member of her team, and if I remembered correctly, Azurill wasn't the only of Keiko's team that needed a name.

"Could always go with Minnie," I shrugged jokingly. "Might be a bit of a safe name, but... eh." I was rewarded for my offer with a disapproving look. "She won't be a mouse forever! Check it!" she declared, pointing at my SNAG.

I looked up Azurill's data, and sure enough... "Water rabbit, huh? Cool. Maybe something like 'Lola' or 'Thumper', then?" I asked, unable to hide my amusement

"Can it," she said flatly, showing her displeasure at jy joking.

That was one of the weird things about Keiko. If she thought you were seriously trying to insult her, she would get sad. But she would get angry if she knew you were joking or especially if she knew you were teasing her. One would usually get angry at being insulted, but not Keiko. Then again, I was familiar with her insecurities and knew her reasons for reacting this way.

Keiko turned away from me in a huff. I had a feeling this was a feint, but I didn't act on it due to worrying that I was absently sensing her emotions. Keiko didn't acknowledge my lack of response and focused on Azurill. "Another Bubble! Focus all your energy!" she shouted.

Azurill fired another volley, destroying another group of drones, She was able to create a couple extra bubbles with the move, but it was clear she was still inexperienced.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 01, 2018 11:05 am

Keiko looked happy at the improved move, but I could sense that she still wanted to see more improvement out of Minnie. Because of this, I felt that what came next was a bit rash. "Okay, Azurill! Now, let's practice with Bubblebeam!"

I could feel the panic Azurill was experiencing, as her skill with Bubble still had room for improvement. But to her merit, she obeyed her trainer's order, shooting out a stream of smaller bubbles at one of the drones. It destroyed the targed drone and continued on its path, even destroying a second one that had floated into the path. But the move didn't seem capable of destroying the entire group. It certainly looked like it was formed for use against a single, powerful target instead of a weaker group as was usual with drone training.

Keiko, however, was simply pleased that Azurill was able to use the move. "Good job!" she squealed, rewarding Azurill with another hug. I couldn't help but feel like Keiko was able to get more improvement out of her Pokemon in a day than I was capable of, though that could easily be a result of Sauron's insecurities as of my ability as a Trainer, as I certainly didn't have as much difficulty raising Rala or Azreal. I didn't want to blame Sauron for the pace at which he learned, however. The little Bulbasaur was certainly putting in the effort and then some, and it absolutely showed today.

"Okay, that's enough Water-type energy for today, Azurill," Keiko chirped, brimming with happiness at Azurill's successes up to this point. "Let's start practicing with Normal-type energy today. We need to work on your speed, so try running up to the robots and Slamming them with your tail!"

I felt worry creep into my heart. Unlike the moves she's had Azurill use thus far, Slam was a rather inaccurate move by its very nature, and I didn't want Keiko to become discouraged as a result of Slam missing. Despite my concerns, however, Azurill only missed a third of the amount of times she used Slam, and through diligence, she eventually destroyed all of the drones.
