"I don't need money ma'am. i got the manager position over at the Beluga in uptown Soleil." Alucard said and started eating his burger before nodding. "I will thank you ma'am." he said and smiled as he continued eating his burger then swallowed what food was in his mouth then wiped his face with a napkin. "This is pretty good guess even my stomach catches up with the times." Alucard said and chuckled to himself before going back to eating.

Zoexx Sorenxx Why do I miss someone I never met? With bated breath I lay. Zoe was grateful and happy for the water. She requested a few oments to think about what she wanted. The menu was conveniently here for her to read... and for some reason, having been asked what she wanted, and s reey being given water, made her reconsider the idea of eating out.... now was the time.
"Um.. where would you recommend a stranger go if the were looking for work?"

"Well i do need another waitress at the Beluga. If you can cook then you can apply as a chef." Alucard said as he finished his burger and took a sip of his water while not being harmed by it thanks to the charm he had in his pocket. "The position you want is up to you of course. I won't force you to do something that you don't want." Alucard said and looked at Zoe.

~HazelBrown Mood Content/Joyful Where? Captain's Deck "If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?" Hazel looked up from the menu and to the young lady "Hmmm, thats a toughie. Oh! I know! The Cats Meow is looking for someone to man the cash register." She informed her. "But if animals aren't you're thing I also heard Bookworm's needs some help, cash register and sales associate." She explained to her while she began to organize some of the various objects behind the bar.

__________________________________xxxxxxxxxx_____________❝ What have we found? __________________________________xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_____________The same old fears __________________________________xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_____________Wish you were here. ❞ ● the captain's deck ● annoyed ● alucard, zoe, hazel __________________ ___ _ Gideon stepped back to get to work on making special types of ice-cubes for customers while they spoke amongst one another, preferring to stay quiet unless spoken to. He pulled out 5 ice trays and filled two with tomato juice, two with gin and vodka, and one final one with tequila. Luckily, by the color, it was quite easy to tell which was which.
As the man continued to work, he opened his ears up to the conversation, finding that it mildly distracted him. Hazel recently moved here, hm? He couldn't imagine loosing all of his belongings, mostly because they meant very little to him. Traveling place to place like a nomad made him less likely to latch on or care about furniture. He just had everything delivered. Most of the things in his home were gifts from people around the years, or from people who had grown to like him throughout the years. Quite honestly, Gideon would take their presents and get the hell out of there. He didn't need someone to think he needed to pay them back. That meant attachments. He wasn't fond of those.
And who was this guy randomly offering a girl he'd just met to help out with her things? The first thing that came to mind was: That's pretty nice of him, but kinda creepy, old man... Gideon sighed and shook his head, ridding those thoughts from his head. They were none of his business and took away from his concentration. Even if they were true...
The sangria haired man had backed away from the girl who had sat at the bar after Hazel had up and decided to serve both of them water, finding the woman only wanted water in the first place. That was a pretty easy order. Turning his head to the order of the man, Gideon made his way over to his tab and added a burger onto it, even though he was only supposed to do drinks. He figured it would make it easier on the new girl. She seemed caught up in talking and might forget. A timid voice turned his attention to the woman who only ordered water again. Where to get a job, hm? Everyone else seemed friendly enough to answer. Gideon piped up, too. "If you like the beach, I think we have a few spots open here, as well. It tends to get lively at night, though. Might not be your cup of coffee."
As Hazel's eyes rested on Gideon, the man grabbed the cocktail mixer and tried to open it up, blinking in surprise at the resistance. This thing was just supposed to pop open. He'd done it easily enough at first, what was going on now? Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he fumbled with it until the top popped off, sending excess watered down tomato juice splattering into his face and eyes. The first thing that came out of his mouth were Spanish swear words. They roughly translated to, "s**t, *fck me." He paused and practically slammed the mixer down on the bar table, reaching for a towel to wipe his face and stinging eyes. "Pardon my language," He apologized softly into the towel, attempting to blink out the irritation in his eyes.
Gideon put the mixer in the corner, intending to figure out why the hell it decided to spite him in the end after his face and eyes were throughly taken care of. It burned slightly, but was nothing he couldn't handle, either. "Fantastico," He muttered in Spanish, grumpily wiping his moist neck.

~HazelBrown Mood Content/Joyful Where? Captain's Deck "If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?" Hazel had remained busy as they offered her advice about getting a job, everyone here was so nice. It reminded her of her small hometown. It seemed more of a community then a city in which are usually large. She had always grown up in a small community with someone looking out for you that this felt comforting. But then she heard someone curse profoundly in spanish, she knew it was curses because what else would it be? She quickly stood up but bumped her head on the bar on the way up resulting in a small 'Thud!' and a even smaller "Ah!""Ouch! That hurt..." She whined and rubbed her head, she wasn't usually so clumsy. However she quickly looked over to the tall spaniard "Are you okay? Here why don't you try to flush it out with water or something?" She offered and semi-rushed over to his side, the tomato wasn't going to kill him. But she was worried anyway, were tomatoes acidic? She didn't know. "Does it burn? Umm...here Ill get you some ice...maybe that'll help?" she offered and rummaged through the mini freezer then looked up at him. Wondering if he thought ice would help.

Zoexx Sorenxx Why do I miss someone I never met? With bated breath I lay. Waitress or cook... both were options... though... when was the last time she had a food-handler's card? Or was that something that was legally required here? The more Zoe thought about it, the less she felt it likely to get one. After all, if her driver's license became moot upon her death, it was likely that every other helpful piece of legal documentation she had as well as qualifying papers were qually invalidated. This option that had been given from the kind owner of the Beluga's, as well as the option of working at a register either for the... Cat's Meow? A pet shop? Then the Bookworm's option... She picked up one of the applications from there, so it was nice to hear that they were looking for someone.
Zoe would admit, though, she wasn't expecting the explosion after the bartender tried to open up something. Zoe hadn't caught everything, but she did see the spray and heard the strong reaction to it. She paused and stared for a little while, at first uncertain what to make of it. Accidents did happen... and while she didn't understand what he said off the bat, there was a tone that was universal amongst the languages that declared his frustration openly.
Then the poor girl hit her head too.... Oi... it just sounded like it hurt. Was she alright?
Zoe's smile was that of sympathy, as she really wasn't sure how else to help. She cleared her throat and shifted the glass in her hand. "Thank you. Every lead helps, so I look forward to finding a job soon."
She expressed her gratitude more fully to the three. The gentleman seated not far from her owned a place... and experience told her that connections often helped a person get a job in the first place, so this was promising. Knowing some of the employees here was also a benefit to her, though she did admit that she knew very, very little about bars or about how work here functioned. She liked animals, but she wasn't sure how they would respond to her. Nature, normally, fled from those they didn't know. However... even family pets who were quite accustomed and excited to meet strangers she found had begun to flee from her, or at the very least watch her warily. It was rather unfortunate... Though... the bookstore also sounded like a promising option. On the other hand, working near books was only dangerous because for what she earned, there was the risk of spending her paycheck on more books. A delight, but a bit counterproductive.
Yes, there were definitely options to think about.
"If I may... I'd like to order a plate of nachos."
And all the poetry in the world finally makes sense to me. Sometimes a dream turns into a dream. Butterflies are flying and I just won't delay OoC: The bane of my existence is a half-responsive and slow phone keyboard...... I'm so very disappointed with it sometimes... especially with how often it misses letters.

"You are very welcome young ma'am." Alucard said and finished all of his water in one go before paying for the tomato juice and the burger. "Well i must be going but if you three ever stop by the Beluga in uptown Soleil. I personally will cook for you three at a discount price." Alucard said and put his gloves on and left a twenty dollar tip and bowed before walking out of the club.

Don't worry about my eyes, more importantly, are you okay?" Gideon frowned, not really caring about the slight stinging in his eyes at this point. It would go away eventually. When Hazel approached him with ice in her hands, he grinned down at her and raised an eyebrow. "What were you expecting me to do with this, amiga? Ice my eyes?" He half snorted in amusement and grabbed her wrist, pulling her close so he could inspect her head. He fingered through her hair searching for a wound or bruise, anything that could be grounds for possible concussion. When the man was finished and thoroughly convinced of her safety, he took the ice from Hazel and put it into a plastic take-out baggy, securely tying it and resting it on her head.
"Be more careful. Waitresses need all the brain cells they can get for dealing with annoying customers," He pinched her nose playfully and turned, walking to the back. "I need an order of nachos!" Gideon called out, one of the chef's responding hastily. He returned to the bar and wiped the splatters of tomato juice clean, inspecting his moist cocktail mixer. It had a safety lock when the top was twisted, to prevent spilling. Now he knew.
When Gideon's attention turned back to his customer, his food had been finished. He quickly printed out the receipt for the man and took his money, wishing him a safe leave. He replied with an offer that Gideon knew he would take advantage of. Discounted food? Hell yes.
The 20 dollar tip was put into a tip box, with a sticky note attached. On it he put, "Hazel/Gideon", to designate the splitting of the money for the both of them, and not for any other waiters not present. Finally, the plates were collected, one put in the kitchen and others he washed himself, as they were part of his glass set.
"I think her food is about ready now, Hazel. Go fetch it for me while I clean these, please."

~HazelBrown Mood Flusteredl Where? Captain's Deck "If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?" Soon Hazel's face had turned as red as the tomatoes that splashed him in the eyes causing this situation. Her heart thumped against her chest, she had never been so close to someone she barely knew before. Of course she knew his name but that was it. "U-um..Im fine! It just hurt a lot when it happened. Plus it was embarrassing, I'm sorry!" She immediately said and took the icepack off her head. She noted the order for Nachos "Ill get them right away!" She said and began to rush off almost tripping along the way. She made her way to the kitchen and placed the nachos on the tray once they were ready. "Ive made a fool of myself in front of my new worker AND a patron! Im such a dolt!" she thought to herself. However she wouldn't let that get in the way of her job. She walked over and served the nachos to the lady "Here you go, sorry about the hold up." She apologized and went back behind the counter.

Zoexx Sorenxx Why do I miss someone I never met? With bated breath I lay. Fortunately, the nachos came out fairly quickly. The process of it was something that she considered replicating at home, but there was also something kind of nice about someone else making something for you so you could simply enjoy it.
"No worries," Zoe reassured the waitress, who seemed to be flustered and embarrassed and who soon ducked away. It was easy for Zoe to understand how that felt. For a time, she was working and going to school at the same time. Early on, she would go through an awkward phase of trying to figure out what was expected of her, and to that effect, how to be amazing at it. The trouble always was, though, that life had many unexpected moments and some of these things would throw us for a loop. Some took the odd moments with a smile and made humor of themselves. Most instead worried about what happened and how it could be avoided in the future.
It was normal, Zoe wanted to say. Everyone had moments like that and experiences when they felt that they proved... less than awesome. Such was life, really. Zoe confirmed these thoughts as she turned her attention to the warm pate of nachos. A smile came to her face as she lifted a particularly cheesy chip and its delicious accessories from the group and brought it up to her face for a bite.
Hot.
She was quick to open her mouth to air out the sharp heat and take a swallow of water that she let sit on her tongue to QUICKLY cool down the food. ... Maybe it would need a few moments to chill? She decided that this was for the best. Patience... Might save her from burning the roof of her mouth next time.
And all the poetry in the world finally makes sense to me. Sometimes a dream turns into a dream. Butterflies are flying and I just won't delay OoC:

Gideon said, watching Zoe's chain of events play out. He turned to Hazel. "Try saying that it's a bit hot next time." A pat on the head was offered as he returned to his work, washing the dirty glass of water and high-glass. He was finished in not time and took to drying it with a new towel, returning the glasses to their chill chest.
Finally, he leaned against the wall and took out his book, silently clearing his throat as the page was opened up to his last marked spot. This criminal investigations book chapter was all about forensics and the biochemistry that went into finding the time of death, and ultimately the killer. Gideon found it fascinating. He'd always wanted to be a police officer, but he'd murdered enough people in his life. People who might or might not have deserved it. In a way, the sangria man thought taking such a job could become a balancing act for his bad deeds. But all that was just wishful thinking. He'd already killed. No sense in taking a job that could exacerbate that.

~HazelBrown Mood Flusteredl Where? Captain's Deck "If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?" Hazel cooled down a bit, she went back to memorizing the menu. Soon she had most of it known and down. But she also looked out for possible customers or people who needed their orders taken. She couldn't help but glance over at Gideon once and while. Then she noticed the tip jar "How sweet of him..Im glad Im working with someone honest..." She thought to herself and smiled at him. She however kept working, but kept looking at the bartender. He seemed so...perfect. But she had to focus now! She couldn't be fraternizing with her coworker. So she tried to focus on the menu. But soon she found it to be quite boring so she decided to make small talk with the lady "So, how have things been for you so far?" She asked the girl.

Zoexx Sorenxx Why do I miss someone I never met? With bated breath I lay. Zoe picked up another chip, and implemented a time-proven method of cooling a chip. She blew on it. However, in the midst of her listening and taking in the unique nature of the club and the people who resided here on the island, the waitress who had brought her the nachos struck up a conversation.
Zoe smiled and lowered the chip back to the tray, where it could cool and wait for her to be ready for it, while she answered the girl.
"So far, so good," Zoe admitted. Though, she wasn't sure how much to extrapolate on this or how much the employee of the club wished to know. "It's a beautiful day here. I'm hoping that this island is as tropical as it seems to be."

She finally said and looked down awkwardly at her feet.
