Using his second try he inched the ice cube up toward the candle slowly. Maybe if he didn't get it too close the candle wouldn't actually be able to melt the ice?
Apparently that worked and Olivia happily handed over a drawing of him (which was funny and totally not flattering to his figure at all) and a raffle ticket. "Uh, thanks?"

Once again, Benji just doesn't seem to have what it takes to find an ice cube willing to make friends with the candle. He looks rather sad as he leaves the booth, not really paying heed to the fact that these are (probably) just ordinary ice cubes, and as such would rather be with each other than hanging above a candle flame. The ghoul seemed so disappointed at his inability to encourage friendship petween the ice cube and flame...
It was hard to say why Lou even bothered trying to make steam. She refused to get the ice cube any closed to the flame for fear of being burned. She hovered her cube far above the candle, and all it did was melt in the warmth of her skin, making a huge mess everywhere.
Having never seen this kind of booth before I was intrigued. I wanted to try it out having watched others come and go frequently from the booth. I took a bit of ice and wondered what was going to happen.

Nova picked up a pair of tongs and carefully lifted a piece of ice up, taking it over to the candle. He held it there for a moment, a bit too close it seems. The ice melts a little and drips onto the candle, the flame sputters and hisses for a second but stays lit.

Lou was trying to hold the ice cube close enough, swear. But she just couldn't get the game figured out. And to make matters worse the cube was cold and slippery. She accidentally dropped it twice and nearly burned herself.

Possible? Andrew honestly didn't think so. But, at least one person had surprised him sooo one never knew with Halloween. He thought he recognized the shdowghoul, from the safari trip way back when. Still Andrew was in a grumpy mood and barely gave the ghoul a nod of acknowledgement before handing over the mini.

"You'd better be nice to Olivia." It might be best to just step away and accept the drawing. Andrew was staring, and his temperament was hot.

"Yeah yeah claim you treat. Now move along." The flame demon waved at you. He probably just wanted you to go away. Was the carnival almost over? Because this flame demon looked like he was done with running the booth.

"Yeah yeah close enough. Oh you want that? That's Olivia's...." Andrew stared vaguely at Olivia, he couldn't do much about that.
Lou was trying to hold the ice cube close enough, swear. But she just couldn't get the game figured out. And to make matters worse the cube was cold and slippery. She accidentally dropped it twice and nearly burned herself.
When Lou nearly burned herself the flame vanished burning very low. "Careful, no burning yourself on the fire." Andrew grumbled a hand hovering over the candle. Was he helping? It was hard to tell with that scowl on his face.
First much too far away, then much too close... Arrakis was going to get the hang of this one eventually, he swore. There had to be a perfect balance, and he was going to find it. He was going to figure out what it was. If others were getting it, that meant it had to be at least possible for him, too, right? There was a happy balance between too far and melting the ice. They could "be friends", as the ghoul had put it.
Trying not to hold his arm too rigid or too lax, he hummed in concentration as he took the ice cube and tried leveling it out at that golden altitude.
He got close. He got very close. Or, at least, compared to his previous results he did. Arrakis couldn't help a satisfied smile as he watched the flames reflect off, but not melt, the ice cube. The smile broadened as he thanked Olivia for the small drawing of himself.

Marie liked friends and liked makin' friends, so a game based on fire 'n ice bein' friends seemed like a good idea to her. She was a mite too enthusiastic though, melting da cube and snuffing out da flame. Oops.
Olivia was very happy to be able to use her crayons - the ones that Andrew had given her at Prom, incidentally. There had been so many winners, but not very many who had gotten the correct ratio to win one of her doodles.
Furiously she scribbled, each color, each line, each detail she could remember of each of the students until she was done and happily handed them to their owners. OuO

Gabby's grin turned predatory when Olivia disagreed with turning him away, and he just stood there, smugly grinning as she explained how the two had teamed up.
"That is nice." Gabby murmured, a bit of exaggeration to his voice. "He put aside how much he just hates ice, in order to work with you. What a good friend."
Gabby picked up a piece of ice, and held it over the flame. He did not use the tongs, he simply held it, and the ice cube steams magnificently - until a drop of water falls and almost puts out the flame. He pulls it away, and toys with it in his hand.
"Look, Andrew. I've won your game." He pocketed the minipet, and continued to slip the ice between his fingers. "And you were going to kick me out. Tsk."
The ice was flicked directly at the boil, while at the same time, Gabby bent in and took Olivia's hand, bringing it to his lips for a kiss.
"I keep my opinion." He informed her. "You're too good for him. But it's nice to see you look beyond that."
His teeth were out, grinning a little too proudly to be safe, as he finally left their booth. "See you in class, buddy." He called out, flipping his hand back behind him in a flippant wave.

11-25 the icecube sweats and a drop of water nearly puts out the flame. “Close enough.” Andrew begrudgingly lets you pick a mini.
As he listened to the instructions at the next booth, Rojo couldn't help but scratch his skull. He had never held ice up to a flame before. Wouldn't it just... melt? Well! He supposed it was time to find out.
Holding the cube between his bony fingers, the calaca suspended it above the candle, watching as a fat drop of water gathered at its base.
"No no no," he said, compounding the problem by waving the ice gently from side to side. Eventually, the drop fell, sizzling near the flame and almost putting it out. Rojo winced. He'd never make steam like that.
