Lucy got up and moved toward them before they could leave. "Look, I said that I would be here for you, Lily," she said. "I promised that to you a long time ago. I've only ever broken one promise to you, and I can assure you that I won't be breaking another one. Especially not this one. I'm sticking with you this time."

Lily smiled at Nalyne and then stopped before going out the door. She listened to her sister speak and rolled her eyes. "Then follow us to the swimming area," she said, sounding bored. But despite her tone and attitude, Nalyne would be able to sense a certain amount of satisfaction at hearing her sister's promise.

Nalyne gave Lucy a small nod, letting her know that she'd made a good first step. He knew Lily was being cautious after all the hesitations from her sister and hoped Lucy was understanding that right now.

But he lead both girls from the rooms and to the swimming area...

The guard led Ren into the Re base and into Lily and Nalyne's room. He made sure to keep her hidden from the others, knowing it wouldn't be good for the members of the Re to see her in her current state. He sent another guard to find Lily and tell her that there was someone in her room who needed her immediately. He made sure to tell the other guard it was urgent. "I sent someone to get Lily for you, Lady Ren," he said. "She'll be here to see you soon."

Lily returned to her room with Lucy trailing behind her. She looked at the guard and was about to say something to him when she noticed Ren. She froze, her eyes darting over Ren again and again. A moment later, she was hugging Ren tightly. "It's so good to see you again, mom," she said. "We thought you were dead. Essy came back from the battle and told us that everyone was gone."

Lucy actually rolled her eyes when Ren growled at her. "Like I'd ever be intimidated by you," she said. "Especially when you've lost it like this." Lily didn't say anything. She simply placed her hands on Ren's head, using her light to clear her mind. She couldn't fix the pain of losing Gin, but she could at least bring Ren back to her senses.

Lily sighed in relief and hugged her mother back. "I know it was hard to lose him," she said. "I know how important he was to you, how much you loved him. I'm just so glad to find out that you're not dead. We thought you were." She was quiet for a moment and then continued on with news she hoped would make Ren a bit happier. "I took over when it looked like you were gone. As of the day you disappeared, the Re has been under my control. And I doubt that you're eager to take leadership back without Dad by your side."

Nalyne stepped out of Lily's room just then, having gone into there once he recognized Ren and allowed Lily to have her moment with her adoptive mother. But once that question was asked, he had to come forward. So he stepped out of the room and moved to place his arm around Lily's waist, placing a light kiss to her temple.

"I guess I would be new as well... Lucy is here at her sister's request. Lily wanted her family together, all of her family. After losing you and Gin, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise for it to have happened. By adopting Esabel, you made Ilea and myself family as well. I guess you'd call me their uncle, though the familial tie is a bit harder to define than that. While Goh was my brother, he'd already been disowned and was actually more of a half brother," he explained first.

"My name is Nalyne. And, for as long as she wants me here, I am Lily's. In every sense of the word," he added the introduction and gave the bare side of Lily's neck a light kiss, "I'll let you talk with your mother more and go check on Dev. I don't want him waking up before I've set up the mental blocks on that cat of his. That thing could eat through steel bars and never crack a tooth," he commented with a wry shake of his head over Dev's HellCat form then headed into the room that had been Dancer's for a short time.

Once in there, he checked on the huge cat on the bed then sat beside him with one hand resting on the cat's head as he started working on the first of the mental blocks he'd have to place.

Lily was about to say something to Ren when Nalyne stepped back into the room and spoke to Ren. She smiled a bit at the light kisses, delighted to hear Nalyne identify himself as hers. She watched him go to the room Dev was in and then looked back to Ren. "I think Nalyne did a pretty good job of explaining it," she said. "I wanted all of my family together, so I brought in Lucy." She looked over Ren again. "We need to get you cleaned up and find you some new clothes. I suppose I'll have to find you a new room as well." Lucy moved to take a step toward Lily. As soon as she moved, the shadows moved around her and she disappeared. She had accidentally shadow stepped without realizing it, so she had no way of knowing where she would end up.

Lily seemed just as confused as Ren by Lucy's disappearance. "No, that's definitely a new one," she said. "I've never seen her do something like that before. I didn't know she could. I'm sure she'll show back up soon enough. If not, I'll simply go get her again." She gestured for the guard to come over and gave him instructions to get Ren's new room set up. He left to do so immediately. "Your room will be ready soon. Until then, you can use the bathroom attached to mine. I'll get you something to wear. It'll have to be something good for a funeral." She waited for Ren to ask about the funeral, knowing that she probably wouldn't be happy when she heard that Allistair was dead. He had been one of their top generals after all.
