Still appearing motionless for a few moments, Aiden's overall consciousness and speed around this time was nearly halved. Clearly, Jake's power moves were having an effect on the lighter, more agile of the two. Just because Aiden had speed, aerial prowess, technical skill and agility didn't mean he didn't take some serious beat downs throughout his matches. In this match, Jake would prove that theory. One thing that Aiden never was denied from, was heart. He had heart. He would challenge people hella' taller than him. He would challenge people hundreds of pounds bigger than him. Why? Because it showed a sense of no fear. Despite Aiden being picked up by Jake and held close to Jake's torso, Aiden's legs were jello. Thus why Aiden really had no other choice but to stomach what Jake had up his sleeve and deal with it. Being flown over Jake body and crashing on the mat after the overhead suplex, Aiden's body pretty much rolled along the mat like a rag doll. Even when he slowed down, Aiden was just making painful groans.

With his burst of energy resulting in a series of unfortunate events for Mr. Covell, the crowd was in a frenzy. This was exactly what they wanted to see: the battle of heart. Two rookies cementing a lasting impression on an audience who had an insatiable hunger for more from these two. Best-of-five? Some were hoping by the way things were unfolding, this could lead to a best-of-twenty-one, but their wishes were unlikely to be fulfilled. Jake quickly slumped his body on top of Aiden's, looking for his surprising upstart offense to take Aiden off his game for just three more seconds. The referee slid next to the two, his eyes intent on Covell's shoulders, and he slapped the mat to being the standard count. Referees don't get much credit, but this one had done his duty to preserve an unbiased honor and respect for the sport he was unable to compete in.
One!
Two!

Aiden's body was in plain sight, beat red in certain places from rubbing up against the mat. From the way his back had hit the mat, to how Jake's boot collided with his skull. Various spots around his body displayed bruising and red spots from the physical toll this match was taking on the aerialist. No doubt, it was in Jake's wisest decision to go for yet another pin attempt to determine just how much heart and soul was left in Aiden's will to continue. Shoulders down and referee now pinning away, Aiden couldn't accept defeat just yet. He didn't want to. He knew if he kept going, he'd most likely be beat down and endure much more than just a soreness, bruising and severe pain in his neck. But that was a risk he was willing to take. Thus, why Aiden rose his knees up and kicked out of the pin attempt desperately.

The roller coaster of emotions that Jake had been going through this match had been perfectly conveyed in his eyes once he sat up after the near fall. His eyes wide open in a state of shock after Aiden's heart and desire had seemingly matched his own. In this point of the match, there were no heroes or villains; the fans had been so awe-struck by the quality of this match that they were just so curious as to who would leave with their arm raised. Their ineffable urge to walk away from this match victorious to begin their legacy with a bang had made a beautiful display of competition inside a wrestling ring. Jake looked to the referee with his index and middle finger up in the air, asking him if it was really two. The man in zebra stripes had confirmed the count, and Roman was in total disbelief. Earlier in the bout, he had been embarrassed by Aiden getting an advantage in mat wrestling, the Kid's specialty. So to prove a point, Jake would stumble to his feet and climb up to the top rope, waiting for his rival to stand. The impressionable, soon-to-be 21-year-old Jake Roman had a flawed logic behind this approach: Anything Aiden Covell could do, I could do better.

Sweat still glistening off his body and redness starting to show more from the tan being given to him by the sunlight, Aiden was slowing down. Not in the form of slowing down by speed or agility. It was just the matter of the heat index becoming a factor and the fact that the direct sunlight was ungodly. Laying on your back with the sun glaring straight into your eyes, it sucked. Even with the factor of Aiden having used sunscreen prior to the match, it sure didn't feel like it. His skin felt like it was on fire. Perhaps maybe he should have used a higher SPF lotion. Regardless, Aiden slowly but surely came to as he saw Jake perched on top of the top turnbuckle and awaiting him to stand up. Whatever it was, it was most likely going to hurt. But, Aiden also had to think of the probability of how he could utilize his stance as a possible dodge or return fire maneuver. Until he knew for sure what move Jake would attempt to hit him with, Aiden shakily made it to his feet and tried to find a good sense of balance as he turned around to face Jake's direction head-on.

To show off his wide array of abilities and what areas of wrestling he could cover, Jake went to show off his own air-based offense by mimicking one of his favorite retired big men. Ready to show his constantly expanding craft, Jake went to throw himself towards Aiden and hit a flying clothesline on his smaller opponent once Covell had turned his direction.

Based upon how Jake was crouched on the top turnbuckle and how he took to life-off, Aiden could see Jake's arm start to extend to the side. Judging the maneuver as a flying clothesline just because of how Aiden had determined it as such, Aiden had to put into perspective just how he would be able to evade this one. Would he roll to the side? Possibly. But it wouldn't gain any adrenaline back into his favor. Would he simply take the maneuver? Debatable. He had been able to see the maneuver from start to it's near finish, so obviously Aiden would have scouted it. With no real option other than a desperation attempt, Aiden would look to try a low-dropkick aimed for Jake's legs as the big man came down towards him from the aerial decent. Hoping to either kick the guys legs out and make him face plant, or possibly land wrong so Aiden could go back to leg targeting.

Jake had no other option but to land flat on the side of his face from his fall from grace. His shins and lower legs had stung once more from his gravitational force losing in a head-on collision with Aiden's boots from the low dropkick. The Kid had laid flat on his stomach, his back arching upward from the brutal reminder of how much pain he was really in. Now he felt as though it was impossible to ignore.

Success. As much at it was a last-second desperation move, it was one that was well scouted from start to finish. Aiden landed on his stomach with his gloved palms on the mat, gaze watching as Jake crash and burned. Jake's position was thankfully on his stomach which signaled to Aiden that he had the advantage for a few seconds. Pushing himself up to one knee, Aiden started to crawl over to Jake's legs and would aim to lock in yet another punishing Lock Down calf slicer submission. The only issue with this, was simple. Aiden didn't have the amount of adrenaline as he had before, so it wouldn't be as powerful this time around. Plus, Aiden wasn't gonna' burst a blood vessel trying to put effort into the move. So he'd put in as much strength he had without that predicament becoming a reality.

Clawing the mat in pain was a teary-eyed Jake Roman, in so much distress from the back and forths of this match, physically and emotionally. He couldn't quit; he couldn't just slap the mat in admittance of defeat to cap off this series. In a mental frenzy, he put his hands on top of his head and his eyes clenched, afraid that if they opened the face of career death (cousin of actual death) would be staring him straight in the face. He tried digging his shoulder into the mat to somersault in place on his back, but the physics of that weren't possible unfortunately. Jake grabbed the nearby referee by the belt and tried to make him fall straight onto Aiden so the hold could be even less strenuous.

Keeping true to his own word, Aiden wasn't putting that much pressure or stress on himself while his finisher was locked in tight. Perhaps that would be good for him, because he could regain a bit of stamina while he was putting Jake through pain. But at the same time, perhaps it was bad seeing as it wasn't putting Jake through that much pain as it would have been should Aiden put all his power into the submission. Whichever the reason was, it clearly didn't suit well for Aiden seeing as Jake had miraculously found a way to break the submission maneuver as a whole. What better way to get the ref involved than for Jake to toss the referee on top of Aiden, forcing the aerialist to break the hold. Breaking all contact with Jake in the process, Aiden rolled the ref off of him and started to slowly stand himself up just so he could assess the situation accordingly.

Regardless of how much effort Aiden was putting into the hold, Jake's legs were only growing weaker and weaker. First his face had felt like it was swollen on each square inch, and now if he didn't know any better, his knee and everything below it was seconds away from being removed by the proficient psychological combatant. Roman's legs were limp, and he pushed his torso up with his arms, while still having his knees seemingly glued to the mat.

Keeping to a simplistic format of trying to regain some momentum, Aiden decided that he could probably still wear down Jake with basic strikes. He had bent his body over and his hands were on his knees as he regained his composure a bit, enough to where he was decent enough when it came to breathing and a steady heartbeat. But seeing that Jake was still on the ground, Aiden decided that possibly a ground game was in order. Catering to that thought, Aiden would walk over and attempt a few stomps upon Jake's legs, primarily the one that had suffered the most damage from two Lock Down's first.

Roman's left leg was so close to giving out. Two lock downs and many more strikes done to increase it's pain had done nothing to increase it's tolerance, only diminish it. He could do nothing but try to nudge over on his side and protect fractions of his aching limb with his hands inbetween strikes. Once more, Jake found himself being taken control of at the hands (or feet) of Aiden Covell, and it all was just because of one over-confident and honest mistake of flying from the top rope.

Each stomp was methodical. Each stomp was one that was targeted well and aimed in direct joint locations. Aiden wanted to cause the most damage where Jake's equilibrium would be thrown off and enough damage to make the guy's legs unable to carry much weight. If Aiden was going to forceably be taken to the medical room to have a body massage, ice his joints in an ace bath and take pain pills? He would be damned if he didn't intend to have Jake suffer the same fate. Looking over at the nearest set of ropes closest to Jake, Aiden would aim to drag Jake over to the roles, wrap the Lock Down-damaged leg of Jake around the bottom rope and pull back on it to apply a rope-assisted torquing submission.
