She sensed they had nearly hit a sensitive point and was glad when Gale moved past it; while usually happy to wax poetic on serious topics, she wasn't so sure she could handle it at the moment. Much better to make a note about the roller coasters thing for future reference anyway.
Stormy couldn't help but chuckle a little and appreciate how random his question was. "Well, that's easy!" she replied with a grin, flattening his hand and laying it on its side in the space between her index finger and thumb. "Carry the cat for the rest of my life. You didn't say it had to be in my arms, right? So it'd stick it out in my shoulder or in my coat or something, train it to watch my back in battles, and tada—immortal sidekick! I'd get it something like a runic collar for some barriers just in case and, like, a little armor for missions? I mean, the only real downsides would be showering and using the bathroom, but we'd work something out!" She looked terribly pleased with how clever it all sounded.
"My turn! Lemme think...Oh, a classic! If you got marooned on an island and could only bring one thing with you, what would it be and why?" She tilted her head back to give him a cheeky look. "And don't say me."

He knew she would like the randomness, because randomness was sporadic and lighthearted and silly, and that was what they needed, that was what they both wanted. Gale was still letting Stormy play with his hand, her darker fingers moving across his much paler ones.
"I suppose that's true," he said with a laugh. "It could be a mascot, but then we'd have to come up with a clever name."
Her returned question made him smile, Gale giving her a stern look. "Spoilsport," he said, sticking out his tongue at her, but then he gave it some more serious thought, curling his index finger around one of hers almost absently, a low hum escaping his throat.
"Hmmm...I'd probably bring...well, a book wouldn't do me much good. How about a life raft?" he asked, grinning. "Is that cheating? Or I could bring a flare gun and start shooting things...maybe a runic dagger...but wait, aren't we already marooned on an island?" he deadpanned.

"Crookshanks," she told him as a matter of factly. "Well, only if it's the right color. Silver tabby would be McGonagall. Gold would be Buttercup—Hunger Games," Stormy explained. "There's a Gale in there too! Well, he's not a cat, he's a human. Black would be Binx from Hocus Pocus if he's nice or Cinderella's Lucifer if he's a punk. A really fluffy white one would be Duchess...Oh, a toyger would definitely be Rajah!"
It was clear she could go on and on, but she stopped herself before it got too long-winded. Besides, it was important to stick her tongue out in return.
"Yes, that's cheating," Stormy scolded him. "But I think it's a weird question anyway; who'd only bring one thing? You'd have tons of stuff and wreckage to go through." But look at her, logicating a hypothetical question!
He did have a point, though, and Stormy gasped softly as their fingers curled together. "You're right! Ohhhhh noooooooo~" she whined. "What are we gonna do with all this air conditioning and room and food and people, Gale, nooooooooo, I can't handle iiiiiiiiit~ Por queeeeeeeeee?"
She lifted their hands up as if to plead with the heavens for intervention.
