Ooh, uhhhh well I was hoping to mainly use the Atlas as a sort of backdrop to set up the idea of the super-ships, in an effort to sort of put everyone on the same footing. Not to say that she can't be, of course. I don't want to stifle anyone's ideas. I just don't want any complications to arise. Everyone on the Grogram is definitely heading to Moore, everyone on the the Absolute Bearing is also definitely heading there, the Atlas and the Seaboots should just sort of be floating around somewhere and making sure that the other one doesn't get into any trouble. not to say that they couldn't currently be hanging out in or around Moore, of course. That said, as long as the idea's good enough, I say let's throw it in and see what happens!

I don't disagree , I thought they were best suited to a backdrop rather than set - I was thinking even having a "radio chatter from the battlefront" post on the IC page >< L'Tisha , wanna sidle Fleur over to the Absolute Bearing instead ? C:
Sure, so long as I get to be a SKY PIRATE! Yay! lol
btw, I have not decided upon the current whereabouts of her parents. They can be aboard the Absolute Bearing or the Atlas or wherever the narrative needs them to be. I'd rather they are alive so as to retain Fleur's more cheerful disposition, since she's only 23. It will hurt her terribly when she becomes aware they are dead, even if they are not aboard the same ship she is on.
How young are you thinking ? Like child/teen young or just naive young ? Also , pirate or Coalition ? He can be a neutral but the ship still depends . .
I was imagining about 12 years old. Annoying but sometimes cute little tag-along. Very naive. Would that be annoying to the rest of you? I don't really know which ship he'd end up on. The pirates would probably eat him alive and the Coalition would try to kick him out... unsuccessfully... Coalition, then?

Just the most cliche'd tragic back-story you can think of an flip it around. Orphaned after a pirate raid... um, given up for a adoption by a prostitute...
Maybe he does have parents, but he wants to go on a treasure hunt on his own? This is just a basic idea (and pretty cliche' if you think about it), maybe we can build something from that...
The options I'd considered were: -parents died of mysterious-plot-advancement sickness and left him orphaned on the streets and caring for his sister -family was too poor to keep him in school Both ideas have him running off to the docks and trying to sneak into a job as a sailor or pirate, something to bring home a little money for his sister. I don't think he's quite mature enough to figure that he might not make any money, or even make it back to his sister.
I suppose that would make his hometown Moore Town? I'm a little confused, is that the first stop or a final destination? He could hop aboard a ship once it shows up.

Personally, I'm cool with a cast of varying ages, so I don't mind a twelve year old character joining in.
As for the idea, that's sounds cool with that, too. *nodnod*

I don't mind a 12er in the cast ! c: Moore is kind of the first stop of the roleplay , the opening location where both the parents and the militia will be arriving in search of the map . I think it may be perfect if you want it to be his hometown rather than Banbury-in-Dorchester . . Moore is more of a port city , not as heavily geared toward airship production . Almost all its residents are traders , merchants , tavern and inn owners , barkeeps and barmaids , and the frequent urchin and pickpocket C: It'd be a great spot to start him and have him find his way onto either a pirate ship or a Coalition ship C: You can totally have him as a Neutral player to start with ( and even continue being , cause children ... it's hard to pick a side unless someone kills someone important to you or becomes your idol >< )
