And just like that, one pop culture reference was traded for another. And it was one that left Chariklo with slightly glazed eyes as she tried to keep up with Neso's mental processes. Heart? Monkey? What? Wasn't Don Cheadle Captain Planet? That guy was kind of a d**k. No, she was allowing herself to be distracted by Neso's bright, cheerful chattering and shorts.

Shaking her head slightly in an attempt to get her train of thought back on track, the Dark Mirror grinned and held out a hand. No reason to not be friendly. There was no way this guy was helping the Negaverse.

"Well, Neso, I'm Chariklo and when I'm not wreaking havoc with magic energy seagulls, I like to be out in the summer surfing. As for the other part of your question, I have no idea because I never watched that cartoon. P.S. thanks, mohawks are the best. I like your shorts."

Glancing down at the chaos below, Chariklo's grin faded and was replaced by something that could best be described as a snarl.

"What is going on down there, my friend," she answered, "is that the Negaverse is out in force ******** up a lot of s**t."

Blinking owlishly, she listened as Neso went on to describe this Chronos girl and with great difficulty resisted the urge to sigh in disappointment. So he was already taken. Pity. And granted, so was she, but Amytis would have liked this guy too. Oh well.

"None of those names particularly strikes a bell, dude. As for your uhh... delicately powered angel, haven't seen her. Or if I have, I didn't know it. Maybe some more mundane type description, like oh, her hair color, general height, eyes... that sort of thing?"

Glancing back to the milling people below, she sighed softly.

"I propose a temporary partnership, Monkey Boy. You help me kick some Negaverse a** and we'll keep an eye out for your friends at the same time. What d'you say?"

Silently, she willed him to agree. Whatever was going on needed to be stopped. Of course, she was possibly just being petty. But since that pettiness was doing some good, who cared?

Despite having thrown the first attack, Ida had not immediately lept into the fray, though she had watched Leda go with concern. Hopefully the girl would be okay... she was a super now, a stage up from the last time they had met. Maybe she'd try to keep an eye out for her, just in case...

"Athene!" Ida said with relief as her friend joined her, trailing a familiar red headed squire. "Shang." A real smile blossomed on her face, warmth in her chest for having friends she could stand by in situations like this.

"I don't know what's going on, but they're draining energy and it needs to stop. Our side is engaging and now... its just crazy down there." His mention of going after a general got a nod of understanding from her. "Be careful! Call us if you need us." She managed before he was gone, leaving Ida with Shang and whomever else had hung back on the roof. Ganymede had left by now, and Gunn as well.

"We need to get closer to the crystals..." Ida murmured, more to herself than to Shang, before a bit of silver and grey caught her eye. Tsui? And a corrupt eternal... and a general nearby as youma began to swarm the scene. Things were getting out of control, but as far as she could tell, the white moon was holding its own pretty well.

"Shang, I'm going to go catch up with Tsui, ok?" The eternal said as she turned to him, offering him a gentle smile. "You can come if you like, or maybe see if there is someone you can back up. I want to make sure she's okay."

Reaching out a hand, she touched his sleeve lightly before she turned to leap off the roof, darting between struggling faction members to get closer to her team mate.

The retreat from the last location had taken so long- Flames, steam, throwing wide her 'hostage' to safety and hoping against hope that the woman made it clear of any senshi involvement. It had all broken down into too much to keep apart from a blur. Then there was the challenge for all of them, no matter the rank, of getting to the gathering locations in one piece, without tailing senshi or knights, and functioning enough to carry out the gathering.

The captain took a doubled-back route to ensure that she lost any tails, though it also gave her the opportunity to pick up some energy from some poor sot on the way. The Gathering, when she made her way in leaps from car to car in the Power Plant lot, showed to be well under way.

Now if only I wasn't smoking so badly. Barbary on her back, as was his preferred mode of transportation while giving her the benefit of his silence, was contacting every inch of her scorched flesh. She landed on a sportscar, bringing her knout to hand and the comm crystal to the other, "Captain Schorl, reporting in Commander Persephone. In the lot, there's plenty of targets here. Lieutenants Kyanite, Turquoise, Empressite, if you need cover or aid, call it out or train to me. "

Cherry had been standing there deciding whether to go home or not. Only to have someone come up behind her to warn her about being out by herself. Wasn't that nice! What a caring, concerned citizen who... Then for a moment lost all her train of thought. For a moment lost her bearings and almost forgot where she was or why she went there. She decided maybe she'd just go rest a moment on that wall over there.

She sure didn't feel like going back home still. She was quite sure by now all her ingredients were probably going bad. It'd smell. What fun that'd be to clean. At least she hoped they all had the sense to not open the fridge or flush the toilet. She'd find it all out later. "Just maybe sit here... a few more minutes. Wish I brought some gum or something."

She wondered if the local mini mart was still open, so she headed there. Maybe they would still do business. People bought things during power outages, right?

Titanlåvenite hated to admit it to himself let alone anyone else, but in the interim of their arrival and the start of the power outage he’d wandered into the actual plant to see where the late shifters were hanging out so that maybe they could be more easily gotten energy from. And he’d gotten horribly lost in the labyrinthine, sterile halls, tube and offices. Power plants couldn’t be less interesting and less obviously laid out. He did jog an employee and get energy on his way out, found himself on the wrong side of the plant entirely. He had to trot his way back to where his team was supposed to ACTUALLY be working on gathering energy.

Only then did he lift his communicator to answer “Titan reporting. Had a ....detour. Energy incoming.”

And made his way to hand off or toss the orb to the General (Mica), to the Eternal Corrupted of Wasps, or whatever presented itself. Looking around as he did, he noticed the large and growing gather. We’ve come up with all sorts of company.

When the electrical cord suddenly left her grasp, Leda gasped lightly and shifted her attention ward her now empty grip. Though it lasted but a moment, her hesitance allowed an opening for the corrupted senshi to strike at her legs - and down she went, her hip impacting the pavement and scraping through part of her skirt.

Surely enough, her adversary attempted the same motions that pinned her twice now... Finally prepared for it, Leda aimed a kick toward the man's midsection using both feet, hoping to dispatch him a good distance to buy time and collect herself. Luckily, the previous lieutenant disappeared into the cluster of chaos for some means unknown. Leda lacked interest in pursuing her right now. In fact, until that strange scent finally wafted away, she lost track of her own goals: to dismantle the crystal sitting atop the power transformer.

After drawing herself upright, Leda dusted herself off. She didn't have many options... Exhaustion crept into her thoughts, threatening to cloud what little ability she possessed for decision-making. Should she keep tussling with this corrupted senshi in hopes that he'd finally go down? Would the lieutenant simply return and take his place?

Leda didn't know. She didn't want to find out.

Instead, she chanced a dash toward the great metal pylon supporting the transformer, hoping a head start on the corrupted senshi might allow her access to the crystal.

However, she approached a dismal scene: Persephone with Benitoite. And they weren't the only ones around...

By the time Kyanite made it back to "support" Haumea, she was too late. The senshi kicked his advance away and then made a bee line for the crystal. At first, the dark-skinned lieutenant began to give chase, but then she thought better of it. "I need to keep charging the crystal," she said to Haumea. Yes -- she couldn't lose sight of that. They had given everyone jobs for a reason. Hers was to keep filling that crystal until the mission could be accomplished.

The maternal, protective side of her wanted to be arm and arm with her comrades, but her logic prevailed. Besides, was she really any good? Insecurity ate at her. "I will be back again!" she called over her shoulder, sprinting off until her calves burned.

There was a task to be done. She had to see it to completion. Besides, if they stayed clustered around her crystal, Kyanite would be back in no time to help, if she would even be a help.

To her surprise, the same car she had attacked earlier was in the same spot. The driver was out of the car, calling 911 and pacing frantically. She screamed when Kyanite approached -- a scream that was quickly silenced by a punch. "Sorry, it's for the greater good!" she explained, pulling a moderate energy orb from her.

The group around her crystal was a lot more precarious now. "Captain Schorl, cover me?" she called out, diving around the pack to release her energy to its crystal.

Persephone's crystal is at 45/100!

Jarosite raced off like the good little Captain he was, and Kerberos and Astrophyllite returned to the safety of Avalon's immediate area, bearing their own small energy orbs. She caught a third, presumably from Kadyrelite, and fed each of them to the crystal. From where she stood--and was forced to stay by her assignment--she couldn't see much of what else was going on. There was shouting and a growing awareness of Order, and of youma. Which boded ill for the whole job, because those youma were not attacking their natural enemies the senshi. They were looking towards the Crystals.

"Get away from there before I disperse you back to the Rift," snapped Avalon irritably, swatting at a youma that nosed too close to her Crystal. "You'll get energy later. Shoo!"

God, that was so annoying. Sometimes youma were more trouble than they were worth... But not very often. She turned, fully intending to issue orders to her little posse of first-level officers, but something higher up caught her attention. It was Valhalla, stupid cloak and headdress and all that. She bared her teeth, a grimace of displeasure. Maybe she should send her little ones to attack him? Though he was certainly a much lower priority for conversion to Avalon than Babylon, who knew her, whom she could do so much for...

No. The mission came first. She was only pleased it wasn't Babylon, because she was never rational in her attempts to get him to give in. Valhalla, she could be circumspect about.

"They're stupid, Lieutenant. Animals that cannot control their impulses. I'll keep them under control. You and Kerberos should go gather more energy." She gave that a moment, and then said, "if you see an opportunity to help Kadyrelite, or one of your fellows, take it. We're only strong if we stand together."

Platitudes dispensed, she returned her stormy gaze to the figure on the rooftop, only looking away occasionally to shoo off a youma.
