No lusus barbecue? That sure was a crying shame. What else was there to do with it? Maybe they could put it in the Four Fronds game park and it would be her great rival for the next few sweeps until she'd finally best it all by herself. And THEN it could be turned into barbecue!
Luxara was getting pretty into the idea and her great victory over it, and it almost seemed like her daydreaming brought it back for another match! "Net is up!" With how repetitive this process was getting, maybe eventually she really COULD try to ride it! It didn't look THAT hard...if Gan had it held down at the right moment, she could climb up, wrangle one of the wires...

More grunts from the tealblood, and the lusus was set upon again. Ganyma bashed at the back of its head with his fists -- a mistake. Ganyma yelped, sure that that did more damage to his hand than it did to the lusus. He made up for it with some blows to the neck.

Luxara's accuracy had gotten quite good! This would buy Ganyma a lot of time. He put the lizardbeast in a headlock immediately. Good thing his arms were so big!

[ Didero grimaced at the idea of eating somebody's lusus. That just seemed cruel. Even if it was a big, rampaging beasty, somebody out there cared about it at one point.
Didero spared his own lusus a fond look. Oh. No, he was still mad about nearly being sucked up into that tornado earlier. Didero would try again later. He had a different lusus to pay attention to right then anyway.
He tossed his net. ]

Ganyma swung his fist again and again into the creature's neck. It was disoriented and struggle as it may, the nets were soundly thrown. Eventually, it scampered off. Ganyma collected the nets and handed them back to the kids.
"I'd say its tank is over half empty," he mused. "Guy was breathin' pretty hard. I swear I could hear whatever pump-biscuit system it has beatin' like a drum!"

Everyone in your group is well rested. Your group recovers three stamina, to a maximum of five! Your group recovers 13 hp, if you were previously at zero!
Little pebbles of ice fall in sheets from the sky, and soon the little pebbles feel like veritable chunks of gravel, knives, and a bad case of hypothermia. The ice storm doesn’t seem like it’s going to let up—at least, it looks that way through the blinding shards of frozen awfulness that completely obscure your vision. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1 or a 6 are rolled on a D6.

Something glinting over a bluff catches your eye. A burrow in the side of the dune yields a bounty of shining golden beetles! And as they say, lucky beetles mean good fortune (and megabux$$$). Each member of the group has acquired 1 lucky beetle that can be redeemed at the end of the meta for a variety of rewards. You cannot carry any more than 5 lucky beetles total; if you run into this encounter more than 5 times, you cannot collect any more.
Not weeks after Bloodfest, a familiar snowfall begins to accumulate on the ground, and then rapidly accelerates into a snowstorm. Between the snow, sand and a rapidly changing WACKY sky, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of up and down, let alone a white lusus in a snowstorm. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

The trek is long and tiresome, but little gems like this are worth it. After looking through an animal den for the umpteenth time this expedition, it dawns on the group that you’ve finally found the lusus’s den! Happy day! If the next 2d4 roll’s result is not to fight the lusus, the group can change the result to a lusus encounter, as the lusus is “coming home”! In addition, teens gain 1 extra hit each. As the lusus is considered to have run back out of the den after the encounter, this effect can only be used once per finding he lusus’s den.
In the distance… Is that a mirage? It certainly looks too good to be true, but as you get closer you break into a sprint when you realize that the oasis is exactly what it appears to be! Your group fully recovers HP!

There’s little time to get to higher ground as a surging wave of water sweeps through the plains. Aided by a localized storm system, the flash flood rolls through quickly and viciously. This weather effect will remain in play until a 2, 3, 4, or 5 are rolled on a D6.
Upon encountering a heap of weather-ravaged rubble, you spot a familiar hoppity stump laying on the ground. Whether it’s a sign of the dangerous WACKY weather is irrelevant – any troll knows that bouncebeast hooves bring good luck! Your group has acquired a lucky bouncebeast hoof! The hoof can be used to reroll one dice roll during the meta. When the use of the hoof has been announced, the most recent roll is thrown out and can be re-rolled. The lucky bouncebeast hoof is then discarded from the inventory.

A swarm of crawling biteystingerpinchybeasts sets upon the group – looks like the weather and your stepping all over them has made them pretty mad. Better, uh… Keep stomping! The swarm has 6 HP. The group takes 2 damage for each post that the swarm hasn't been wiped out yet.

A sudden cold snap whisks through the desert. There’s a n** in our nose, a chill in your bones and your cheeks are just a little more vibrant in hue. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to be much more than a quick blast of frigid air. This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.
Something cold whipped by Ganyma's skin. He shivered lightly and looked up at the sky, only to realize what an awful idea that was. Ganyma covered his head with his arms, suddenly barraged with sharp pellets of ice. Reacting quickly, he whipped the hoodie from around his waist and used it as cover, shifting towards the children to shelter them as well.
"Geez, I haven't been in an ice storm this bad in New Hemisect, never mind the desert!" he grumbled. Hopefully it would blow over soon, because the stinging ice was doing a number on his bare flesh.

"What the heck. WHAT THE HECK." Luxara pulled her trenchcoat over her head and horns, shivering. At least they had Ganyma's hoodie as an extra buffer... Wasn't he cold, too, though? Or was he literally too thick-skinned?

More shards shattered against Ganyma's arms. This was just not right. "Everyone get together! We'll pile everything up as a shield!" He shouted. Handing off his hoodie to one of the kids, Ganyma grabbed his backpack and emptied the contents on the ground to completely unzip. It could be used as extra cover -- he swapped the bag for the hoodie and resumed his position, huddling with the two greenbloods in the storm.

[ "Owww!" Didero yelped as he was nicked with a particularly sharp piece of ice. Fat lot of good his hands were doing in attempting to shield his head from the damage.
He huddled up close to Ganyma. There was probably something selfish about using the older, taller boy as a meat shield, but Didero wasn't thinking particularly clearly in the chaos. ]

Ganyma yowled as the storm bore into his skin. Soon enough, numbness washed over his entire back and shoulders. He froze like a marble statue in the pouring hail, and even after it cleared it took him a few minutes to jerk himself from the ground. Teal bruising completely coated him, with particularly sharp nicks yielding pricks of teal blood all over his skin. Ganyma slowly stood and slid on his hoodie, wincing.
"E-everybody alright?" he groaned. He began to pick up the tossed items from the ground. "Let's try to find a place t-to rest," Ganyma's teeth chattered. He ended up clamping his teeth shut and moving on in relative silence.

[ Didero opened his eyes. They'd been clamped shut from both his shivering and the fear of falling ice shrapnel. He was taken aback by the state he found Ganyma in.
"Ah! Are you alright!?" Didero fretted as he bounced around, inspecting Ganyma's injuries. It wasn't as though Didero could have done anything to help at the time, but he felt bad getting off without a scratch...
Didero looked down at the sand. Looking at Ganyma's bruises wasn't making him feel any better. The sand was at least lovely with sparkly ice...
Oh! And not just that, apparently!
"I think all this weird weather is driving the bugs out of the sand!" ]

"N-nope! I mean yeah, I'm fine," reassured Ganyma. He gave Didero a thumbs up. "Just means that the warm bath I'm gonna take after this will be even better,"
Ganyma walked off his limp soon, though his arm swing was still a little fettered by his injuries. Occasionally he'd wince and stop for a moment before rolling his shoulders with a sharp inhale of breath.
"I guess so. That's very smart, Didero," he grinned.
Ganyma got distracted by a buzzing swarm of something in the distance, and shook his head to get rid of the illusion. It was gone! What the...
A strange crunch could be heard from Luxara's general direction...

[ Didero beamed. He was pretty smart, wasn't he? Didero would prove himself a credit to his team sure enough.
"Uh..." Didero flinched a little as more white fell from the sky in his peripheral vision. Sure enough, it was more ice, but thankfully it was less pointy.
"I thought it felt a little too cold for the weather to have gone away completely..."
Didero, readjusted his scarf and carried on hesitantly. ]

"First ice, then snow... Well, I guess it's better than something painful, right?" Ganyma mused. "Glad I put my hoodie back on." This was nothing compared the the sudden ice storm.
Ganyma was driven by the need to find somewhere to rest. He was beat. If the lusus came out, he'd probably just stab it in the rump so that it'd be on its way. Fortunately, the snowstorm ended as soon as it had started.
