Sreda rolled her eyes. "The King is not that unreasonable. The prince can testify that you are simply a lost girl who does not know the customs of this kingdom and then you'll be fine," she explained. "There is no need to panic unless you are part of an assassination plot. Clearly, you're innocent. Nothing will happen to you even if you misstep."

Lynora was still incredibly nervous about attending a party for the King. "The King's birthday party.....that's like going to a party for the President's birthday!" she said softly, though she should probably keep that to herself since this place is still stuck in the royalty system. She turned toward Sreda with a slightly worried expression. "W-will you be going to the party too? I think I'd feel a lot better if you were coming."

Sreda gave a less cheerful expression. "Actually, it is my turn to tend to the dungeons today, so I cannot attend," she answered. "I would attend later, but Ca—I mean, the warlock... is there, you see. He must be watched at all times and I'm the only one available to do so." In all honesty, she herself had volunteered, to the relief of most other servants.

Lynora's attention was perked a little at the mention of a warlock. Could this be the same one that the Prince had mentioned earlier? "Can you show me the warlock? I've never seen one and I'd like to meet one." she said as innocently as she could, hoping it wasn't the same person who helped her just hours ago.

Sreda wasn't sure what to say to that. "I... I don't know. Why would you want to see a... see someone so vile and..." She hesitated, trying to find the right words. Giving up, she sighed. "Very well, but please keep it a secret." She led Lynora out of the ballroom and to the dungeon. The guards stationed there easily let the girls through, perhaps believing them to be harmless. They then traveled down the stairs to the bottom floor and to the dirtiest of the cells. There, the golden-haired warlock was chained to the wall, his face cast downwards in an expression of dread and loneliness.Carac heard footsteps and at once saw a familiar face. In excitement, he scrambled to as far as the chains on his wrists would let him toward the bars. "Sreda!" he greeted and reached out to her, expecting her to reach through the bars as well, but then caught sight of Lynora. "Ah! Miss Lynora, you're safe! My sister and I had been worried about you."

Lynora couldn't believe what she was seeing, her suspicions proved true! "Carac! Oh no, why are you here? This isn't right, they shouldn't treat people like this!" She wasn't even concerned about why or how Carac knew Sreda. "What....what's going on? Are you in jail? How much is your bail set to? What are they going to do with you?" she asked in a panic, hoping there was some way to help the man who helped her.

Carac just shook his head. "There is no release for a magic user, don't you know? Only death," he replied. "Do they not punish magic users in your home?" Once more he reached for Sreda, satisfied when he felt her hand. "My own death is delayed, however. They seek Cedany. Only once they have caught her will they execute us." He chuckled bitterly. "Have you heard what they accused us of? Poisoning children... If they only they knew the true story..."

Lynora was horrified, how could they kill someone without any decent evidence? She wasn't sure how to answer his question though, if she said that there weren't any magic users in her world then maybe he might think that they all died off. That wasn't something she wanted her friend to have in his head while he sat here. "No....they don't punish magic user's in my home. Everyone accepts everyone." she said sadly. Lynora knew something had to be done, they couldn't cage people like animals for nothing! "Don't worry Carac, I'll make sure they don't get Cedany and I'll find a way to get you out of here!"

Carac smiled sadly. "I can only pray that you succeed, but I worry more for my sister," he said. "Oh, but I see you're still free. Tell me, what happened since you ran? And how did you meet Sreda?" He was at least glad that Lynora was safe, but he was interested in hearing why and how she managed to remain so.

Lynora shrugged a little. "I don't know how I managed to stay safe....I guess the prince trusts me at least a little. Sreda has been helping me here, we've been looking around the castle." She felt terrible explaining how wonderful she was doing when the person she was talking to was practically on death row.

"That's nice," Carac said and smiled a bit more brightly. "So, you befriended the grumpy prince? Let the world be shocked! He usually isn't very fond of women. Thinks them stupid, I heard." He laughed a little and then squeezed Sreda's hand. "Perhaps you're more than a simple giggler."

For some reason Lynora took more offense to the stupid comment than to her friend being captured. "Sreda....will you take me to where the Prince is? I want to talk with him. And no I won't tell him I met Carac." she said softly, giving Carac a small smile before they left. As she was shown to the room where the Prince was, Lynora lost all sensibility. "STUPID!? How can you think women are stupid!?! I'll have you know that there are plenty of smart women out there, smarter than me!! How dare you call us women stupid!!" she squeaked in a heated rage.

Sreda gave Carac a quick goodbye before leading Lynora to where the prince was likely to be. Around this time, he was in one of the guest rooms reading a book. Once they arrived, Sreda stayed outside while Lynora went to yell at the prince. She had to giggle a bit, imagining how the argument would go. If only she knew what they were actually saying.Althalos had been so immersed in his reading that Lynora's arrival came as a shock to him. "What are you spouting now? Who told you such a thing?" he asked, but made no attempt to defend himself. "You could have given a greeting before deciding to squeak my ear off."

Lynora blushed brightly at the first question, she couldn't very well tell the truth but she wasn't sure how well received a lie would be, though she had no choice. "N-no one specific person...I overheard it okay!? Stop changing the subject! How can you call women stupid!? Have you no respect for our gender!!?? You know it's people like you that make me so angry I could smack you!!" she continued to squeak on, moving closer to the prince and poking his chest sharply when she mentioned people like him.

Althalos just stared at her, annoyed. "Perhaps women in your time are more intelligent, but I have known no such woman here," he replied, casually pushing Lynora away. "The women here are only after money and titles. What wish do they have for intelligence when they have beauty that would only rot away?" He decided to return to his book, wishing not to continue on the matter.
