She nodded. "Alright. Hopefully we will not need to have already have had the conversation by then, but I will need to know what I can and cannot do while you rest. And hopefully I can set up a temporary shrine so I can meditate as well. I perform the litanies every day, that will make it easier, and give me a starting point to help explain the Gods as well. I have the statues, but I will need a brazier, and if I didn't bring it, some nung blossom incense."

"What do you mean, we will not need to have already had that conversation...Is there something important that I need to know now?"

"Possibly, I do not know when exactly it will happen, but I am confident that it will. Just as our connection as life-mates in the ways of your people has already happened to us, the Leska link can happen at any time. It is... confusing... if it happens and you did not know what to expect, confusing and disorienting. All telepaths on Shola are trained to know what to expect, and I'm told even that is not fully enough, especially in the case of a mixed pair like we will be. Most pairs have no way to know who they will link to," she said softly, looking at her knees. "There have been some disastrous links, some pairs that just... some people can not always live up to their links, the demands are too great, the people too different. One of my aunts..." she closed her eyes, ears flattening sideways. She shook her head, tail flicking in irritation, and through their contact, he'd feel her fears before she quickly put her shields back in place. She shook herself a bit and shook her head, forcing her ears to right themselves. "That won't happen with us. My people have come up with some ways to try and... encourage links to happen more smoothly, but we cannot alter so greatly the will of the Gods, and success is... varied. But in this case... in this case I have no doubt," she said, lifting her head, chin out in a stubborn set. "You and I will link," she said, twisting to face him full on. "We will be together forever, and we will be Leskas. Vartra and Ghuykulla would not have led me here for any other reason, would not have let us bond in your way otherwise. No it is not a matter of if, for us, it is a matter of when. And if I will be able to prepare you enough before we link. And if we get sick at the same time we link. Gods being kind, hopefully we will be on Shola before we take ill, but after we link. One of my grandmothers... she is the leading expert on mixed links, and that illness in particular. And... it has to happen, we have to let ourselves get sick, and trust that our bodies, and medicine, and the Gods will see us through. Because that illness...." she realized she was rambling and dancing all around her point without getting to it. She closed her eyes half way and her tail stilled. "Even knowing we may link, not knowing what it entails, the link... can be traumatic, and if we try to deny the pull of the link for any reason, or if anything goes wrong... there is no one here who can help us," she whispered. "I... don't think we will link while you sleep...but we might while you draw out the poison, depending on how you do it. And... " she hesitated, and then knowing it was unbecoming for a warrior, she looked down, disgusted with herself. "And I'm scared," she admitted softly. "It does not happen often.... but sometimes the links.. go poorly. Sometimes... Sometimes the Gods mean well but... if they were perfect, wouldn't we be?" she asked a bit wryly, pulling her hand back to play with her tail.

"So we will bond, and this bond will make us sick. Very sick." Hadrian reached for her hand again, "You are scared, and that's ok. It only means you are very brave." He kissed her furry little hand. "We'll make it through. I don't plan on giving you up for a very long time now that I've found you."

"You can't give me up," she told him softly. "Ever. If we Leska link...we're linked. I.. we can discuss it all later..but if I get hurt, you get hurt, you get hurt, I get hurt. And if one of us dies...the other follows. But my parents and grandparents all say it's WONDERFUL, and worth every pain, every moment of terror, because the love is shared and multiplied, every pleasure shared and amplified."

Hadrian nodded, "Your Leska link sounds similar to the link we will establish in my people. The only difference is that the only sickness, or pain you should experience is during conversion. And I will share that pain with you because I can."

"What exactly do you mean by... conversion?" she asked, unsure, her ears flicking a bit.

"Can... Can that wait?" she asked, "until after the virus, until after we see what we both are, then? Because I am the heir. I need to provide cubs that can breed with the other mixed and gene altered and hybrids on the estate... it is my duty to my people...." Her ears flicked back low and then she asked in a small scared voice. "I'd loose my tail?"

Hadrian shook his head, "You won't lose your tail. But this is as important to me as yours is to you. It is just as important for me to produce offspring." He was a little put out by her. Not about loosing her tail, but that she would think her situation greater than his. It was true that he didn't know the whole story, and that she only knew the bare bones of his.

"Vartra will provide," she said softly, trying to calm herself. Vartra would not have sent me to you, would not be bonding us as one, if he did not have some plan to make sure we could both provide heirs for our children. We simply need to trust in the Gods," she said, calming as she spoke, until her ears were upright and still, her tail draped lazily across his lap. She seemed as serene as a pond on a still day. She dropped her jaw somewhat in a lazy smile. "What will happen will happen, and it will all work out, though without doubt we will be thrice ready to rage at the Gods before they are done. But ultimately, they see more than we do, and they know more deeply. Trusting in the Gods, one never goes wrong, even though it can feel as though you have, from moment to moment."

Hadrian stroked her tail absently, "Yes, que sera sera. I believe we are never given more than we can handle. We will make it through this. And our...cubs" He tried out the word for it, "Will be the best of both races."

A low purr built as she snuggled against him a bit, enjoying having her tail pet. "That is generally the benefit of hybrids," she said, nuzzling his neck ever so slightly. "The best of both lines, the best of both parents."

Hadrian gently wrapped his arms around her. "I can see that it is. We'll just have to teach them that they can't run around without morals. With as much power as they, and us, will have...a strong background will be important."

She nodded emphatically. "Oh the stories my grandfathers would tell about grandmother," she mused happily. You might even say she seemed... amused. She purred a bit louder as she spoke. "She had power, but her people didn't believe she did. So she was never trained. When she hit the Gestalt though, and learned to use Grandfather's power... she wasn't raised with his code of ethics, she was raised on a planet that had been at war for nearly as long as she could remember. They had few fights, in their time together, but to hear it told, the ones they had were spectacular. And that was amongst the worst. Well, that and the fact that although she was in her 20s or something, she had never had a lover." she chuckled her amusement at that. "I don't think anyone of Grandfather's people believed that for a second. At least... not until they finally joined for the first time. Then he defended it to the death, nearly. That he was her first and only. It was sweet, from what I hear."
