Otto flinched, making a noise of disgust. That snot nosed brat! If that booger stayed there when he got back to his body, he was going to be some kind of pissed! But mostly just perplexed and grossed out. He stared at the kid as he talked. It was an attitude he was very familiar with. Something he understood maybe too well. As the half-pint sized him up, Otto gave him the same look back. It seemed like that was going to be the end of it, but suddenly, the kid was giving him a hug. It was quick, but it had been tight. Real. "Nothing?" He grouched out at Aiden, scrunching his nose as the little spitfire walked away. As the children, all dead, walked into the white, it all felt more final. This was their last words. Their last time existing in any space and form. This was their final death. Aiden's final word hot hard. He was an arrogant brat, but he was just a kid. A very dead kid now. Otto didn't recognize the girl in the white dress anymore. Had she been one of the little girls they'd seen? She was different. Not that it mattered. This was it. "Yeah, we are. C'mon Gale, let's get outta here." He'd love to add 'and give Caelius a piece of our minds', but only someone with no sense of self preservation would act out on such thoughts. Otto walked on through the gate, trying not to let any of this sink in as such finality. Unlike those kids, they had lives to live. They weren't perfect lives. They weren't always happy.. but it was their life to live. He'd try to be more grateful for it, even if those he loved lost them so quickly.

A small smile touched Gale's lips in spite of the situation at hand.
"Hey, Aiden?" he said, just before the other moved away. "Thanks for helping us."
And then they were all gone, except for Gale, Otto, and the little girl who had held onto Gale's hand, though she had let it go to move closer to the gate. Gale watched her stand beside it, a slight frown on his face as he tried to figure out the missing pieces that were still gone from the puzzle in front of him.
He glanced at Otto, and then at the girl again, moving towards the gate. He reached out to the girl and the small smile was back.
"We're leaving too," he said. "Thank you."

"No, thank you." The girl waved, and smiled, and it didn't seem unnatural at all that she was just there. "I'll see you again sometime, I'm sure very soon. If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there."
The gate seemed to rise up to meet the two and then-
- "Oh!" Both of them stirred to a Moon Hunter just tucking Gale in with an extra set of blankets. They were in the hospital wing, apparently sharing a room. Otto's counterside had a box of sweets and Gale's a stuffed bear. The Moon Hunter casually placed the stuffed bear next to Gale and then talked to him with it. "Congratulations! You're not brain dead after all!"

Something bothered him about the girl. He felt like he should know something about her. Even worse was her parting words. However... Otto awoke groggily, blinking back the fuzziness in his eyes. A Moon hunter seemed to be tucking Gale in, which could only mean they were back at Deus. How did they get back? Did someone come for them? Or did that white lighted gate lead them here? His eyes darted to the box of sweets, to which his tummy gave a grumble of longing for. "Not brain dead.." His narrowed gaze fixed on the hunter again, wondering why she was communicating with a teddy bear. "....the Hell happened?"< > Tenya scolded in his mind, to which he winced.

He awoke utterly confused.
I'll see you again sometime, I'm sure very soon.
"The hell?" Gale mumbled, blinking blearily. He gave the bear a vaguely suspicious look, as though it was something that might explode at any moment, and then turned his head to catch sight of Otto beside him, looking surly and sleepy.
Brain dead? Gale pushed himself further upwards, some of the fog in his head clearing slightly. "What do you mean?" he asked the Moon Hunter. "What's happened? Where are we? Are we back at Deus?"

"Yeah," said the talking teddy bear, "You've been in a coma for six months." A long pause. "Six months in teddy bear time. You got rescued by the Teddy Bear Brigade."
Unbeknownst to Gale and Otto, the Teddy Bear Brigade was actually the name of one of the rescue dispatch groups, mostly comprised of Moon and Mist Hunters.
"Oh also," continued the teddy bear, and there was a fumble as the person holding it pointed at the table, "your boss left you a message."
On the table was a message that simply said on the header:
Permit for transfer to morgue approved.

He nearly had a heart attack.
"SIX - SIX MONTHS?" Gale screeched, abandoning all pretense of being a well-behaved, mature hunter in favor of staring in horror at the talking teddy bear. "You can't - that's not - you can't possibly be serious - "
The rest of the sentence was finished with Gale 's expression turning from horrified to exasperated to mutinous the more the bear talked. "So how long has it been in people years?" he said, resisting the urge to throttle the the bear - and it's handler.
Gale's eyes moved to the message on the table and then over to Otto in the bed beside him.
"That bloody arsehole."zoobey what is even happening with your avi..........

Otto's stomach turned over something fierce. Six months? That was.. no! He suddenly held his hands to his mouth, tightly. He felt like he was going to puke. When they added the ever so endearing addition of "teddy bear years", it didn't help. His core shook, and he really didn't know what to think. All of the mind games he'd been enduring this... however long they'd been gone, was making him dizzy. He lifted his gaze to the table, looking at the note from his boss. Otto's thoughts on the matter were similar to Gale's sentiment.

"Problem solved!" the Moon Hunter placed the bear on Gale's lap and made a salute so weeaboo it would have made Allan proud. "Well, since you're not brain dead and it has been six months, goodbye!"
Another salute and then she jumped out the open window in a grand spectacle proving once again that everyone in Deus Ex was crazy. At least there was candy on the table and Gale got a nice teddy bear out of it.
And like the normality of Deus ex, the only thing this mission, the only thing anything provided was more questions. ooc RP is concluded! Gale and Otto will have to find out themselves how long they've been out (two days IcLy). Also for the next week both will be terrorized by dreams of a cage, and something unexplainable and dark trying to escape, whispering promises of destruction once freed. It can take whatever form they want as long as it is this form of nightmare.
