Her... I thought, upon listening to James's words.
... I will be honest with you James, I suspect that if what you say is true, then it might not be entirely your mothers fault... she smells heavily of demonic magic, specifically, of the demonic tree of Temptation. It has been so long since I encountered it that I cannot tell how strong the curse is, but I can definitely say from her actions she is a victim of at least three spells of the tree; Instill Greed, Instill Envy, and Instill Loneliness.... As much as her eyes looked possessed, though, I can still tell that her actions are still her own, warped by the spell as she may be. She could possibly bear the whole curse of Enslavement to Temptation upon her. Couple that with a nasty possession letting her do as she please, perhaps even encouraging her... and... if my suspicions are correct, then they were quite possibly enjoying watching her destroy herself, and me with her.
My eyebrows furrowed as I looked upon the statue, fury in my eyes.
The person otherwise responsible for this is long gone, however... They may show their face again... I must be ready for them.
When he stated his confusion upon his helping me, I smiled. I walked over to him and kissed him gently, before pulling back with softness in my eyes.
I cannot explain how. But remember this my sweet... love is the most powerful force in all of the universe. It was my love for you that conquered the curse and allowed me to lift it. And it was my love for my roses that got them to intervene and heal me upon my dying breaths.

James didn't understand what she meant, though he felt for his mother. Maybe there would be a way to save her later. For now, this was her punishment and even though it hurt a little to see his mother this way, James knew it was for her own good. Feeling the kiss he nuzzled their noses together after she spoke of love. Staring deeply into her eyes he gently kissed her lips. "I will remember that my Darling." he cooed wrapping his arms around her. She was so beautiful, whatever magic she spun on herself really highlighted that beauty well. "So my Queen, what would you like to do now?" he asked happily. "The curse is gone and you are free. I'll do anything my Love. Just as long as I can be by your side." James said kindly taking her hand and locking their fingers together.

I smiled at him gently. The spell that turned his mother stone was linked to the spells of temptation. She was still... aware enough in there. If she could ever concur the curse and conquer the sins, then she would find herself once again of flesh, and free.
Well, I'd like to go back to the castle to see if my parents are still alive. I said. If enough time has passed I am probably long overdue to take over ruling. I'm probably also going to have to teach you magic, the people of Astralla expect both rulers to be incredible magic users...

"Me? Ruler?" that blew his mind. James had never thought he would end up a King at all in his life. Holding her hands he blushed happily though gave her a look of concern when she mentioned him learning magic. Could he learn magic? "Is magic hard to learn?" he asked with curiosity. "Even if it is for me I still would like to try. For you, I would hate to dissapoint your or..I guess the future people I'm going to be ruling over." he still couldn't believe that. Though before him stood a powerful and magical Queen. One that he had help free from a curse. A powerful and magical Queen that loved him deeply. James could see that love sparkling in her eyes. "Well I guess I'll have to go through a ceremony to officially marry you as well." he smiled taking her hand. "A-Alright, we can go whenever you want to My Darling Queen." he said looking back at his mother's statue. James would now shed his old life and venture off into a new one. He just hoped he would be a good ruler. Well Tarana would be there, and together they would rule. Though she would still hold more power since she was royalty after all! Still he didn't mind, not at all.

I smiled and led him out of the mansion, before looking back at the building.
I smiled and headed over to the rosebush, before plucking a red rose with a white heart. With a smile I pulled the other out of my hair. I held both gently, not being pricked by the thorns.
Holding them both up I started to chant. It wasn't long before the house started to shrink, seemingly to fold in on itself. It wasn't long before all that was left of the mansion was a box about the size of my palm. Half of it was white, the other was red; the seasonal garden was gone, the rosebushes, everything, apparently stored away safely into this tiny dual colored box. The only thing that remained was the statue of James's mother, and I tucked the box away into a pocket...

Well that was amazing! It was like the mansion never existed! The only thing left was the statue of his mother. Biting his lip he stared at her for a bit. "Hey Honey? Could we at least put my Mother back into my old house? I would hate for the elements to hurt her." he asked with worry in his voice. Though she had gone mad James still loved and cared about his mother. "It would at least ease any fears I had. I'm sorry I know that's a selfish request to ask. After what she did to you and all. I just...can't leave her out in the open like this. It feels wrong." He hoped she wouldn't be too upset or mad at him.

I smiled.I cannot fault anyone for loving their parents. ASTRA! I bellowed.
There was the clop clop clop of a horse, and there was the Clydesdale from when I first came to retrieve James. I smiled at her before reaching into the box and pulled out something tiny... it looked like a mini wagon. I tossed it at the ground before me, and it suddenly burst into full size. It even had a harness for Astra.
Can you harness my horse please?
I waved my hands and the statue floated up into the air, before hovering it over to the cart and gently lowering it in.
You might want to ride in the cart... make sure no jolts harm her while we're riding. Might be a bit more comfortable for you too.

A smile fell upon his face as he watched her make a small cart magically appear. Tarana had so many incredible powers! She was also a Queen, and his wife. After gently putting the harness on the horse he gently touched Astra's snout. "Thank you." he softly cooed to the beast. Turning around he walked over and hugged Tarana as well. "Also thank you very much. I really appreciate this." he smiled kissing her lips. "Once we get mother safely into the house I'll go wherever you wish My Darling." he lightly flirted before settling down in the cart next to his mother. Looking at her he cried silently as he touched her face. "I'm sorry..I hope one day you can break free from this." he sighed speaking to the statue quietly waiting for them to move.

I smiled and nodded to him silently, before stepping up to Astra and swinging up onto her back in an agile manner. I waited for James to get in, and I heard his quiet words to the statue.
Squeezing Astra's flanks, I had her trot off.
It was a good half hour later when we trotted up to Jame's old residence. I smiled and waved my hand, and the door creeks open. The statue lifted gently from the cart and I carefully floated it inside. I let the statue stand in the living room.
I looked back at him from the saddle. Is that all my love?

James bid his mother farewell when he watched her gently float into their old house. Hearing the front door shut and lock from the inside he wiped some tears away as he left the cart. Staring up into her eyes he smiled softly a look of gratitude plastered all over his face. "Yes My Darling Queen. Thank you so much, I hope I'll be a good King for you." he said blushing shyly. "I'm just a poor woman's child, so I know nothing about Royalty. I hope I won't be a burden to you." he said placing a hand on his chest. He probably would be more of a side ruler honestly, since Tarana would most likely be the one to rule prominently. Letting out a sigh he blew her a kiss before climbing back into the small cart looking up at her to move. The next destination would be his new home. James was a little nervous, this all still seemed so surreal.

I smiled down at James with cute smile.
For Astralla, while rare, sometimes mages will arise that are better suited for ruling then the King or Queen. It won't be all that odd... they may just think you have untapped potential. And who knows... you just might.
I leaned down and ran my fingers through Astra's mane, and now the smile was getting bigger and slightly... crazy ish.
And now things are about to get crazy. Hold onto your hat!
Her soft white mane was starting to move on it's own. It was starting to flicker and flare, and the horse's eyes had gone a solid golden color. She reared just as her mane and tail transformed into flickering white fire, though I wasn't hurt by the pale flames. A long white horn formed on her forehead as her black hooves turned a very shiny gold. Her very form was shifting from a Clydesdale to something that looked more like an Arabian horse...
It's been a while since I rode you as you were Astra. Let's see if you've still got your Firemane speed!
She whinnied happily before taking off.
James would have to hold on mighty hard to the cart at this... she was shooting across the clearing towards the road at an incredible place, faster then any stallion he had ever seen! When her hooves hit the road she shot off, as scenery was now whizzing past far faster then should be possible for a mere horse... He saw the town pass by in mere moments, before the horse was now flying deeper into the Kingdom of Astralla...

James stared in awe at the change. What did she just say? Tarana had a Firemane!? Weren't they untamable horse monsters!? Though before he could speak he gasped when they suddenly blasted off in a flash. Holding onto one of the poles he closed his eyes feeling how fast they were going. This woman was crazy! Tarana was also full of so many surprises too! Slowly opening his eyes he blushed at the sight. Her long hair was dancing in the wind as they rode. The horse's brilliance seemed to highlight her beauty. James couldn't help but stare at her as they zoomed to her Kingdom.

The trip, which on horseback would have taken weeks, was instead completed in a mere few hours. Towns, each clearly more magical then the last, whizzed by in a blur. James could just barely catch glimpses of magical shops and glowing fountains as they passed through each place.
I was riding Astra like a pro as she galloped fast and hard through the kingdom. We shot through grand forests and past mighty oaks as big around as houses.
The entire time I had a crazy grin on my face as I took this all in. It seemed that when I wasn't cooped up in a mansion for ages on end, I was a little bit of an adrenaline junkie... Or maybe it was because I had been cooped up like that for so long.
Astra galloped, jumped, and danced nimbly around obstacles, and surprisingly for James, he found that despite the extreme pace that we were going, he wasn't having that hard a time hanging on and it wasn't all that rough.
As we rose out of the forest through some grassland, my head and eyes went up. Up ahead in the distance was clearly the most magical city yet; it was massive and floating high in the clouds! I had such a longing smile as I looked up at it, I wasn't looking at the cliff face coming up...

He was shocked he kept his eyes open for the whole ride. It was a good thing James wasn't motion sick or else a trail of "magical" puke would be everywhere. The horse kept it's pace well and he was amazed at how fast and graceful it was. Towns, forests, mountain ranges, planes, was he just crazy or had they galloped over an ocean as well? Everything was such a blur that it was hard to tell. Though he felt the horse slow a little and noticed Tarana looking up. James followed her eyes and gasped staring up into the sky for a moment at the beautiful floating city. A floating city! That was amazing in itself. James looked down for a moment to notice the cliff face. "Tarana watch out!!" he called out to her hoping she could hear his shouting. The last thing he wanted was to be plastered all over some cliff side.

I turned my head to see the oncoming cliff rushing towards us. I reach forward and patted the side of her neck.
You know what to do, Astra. I didn't name you after the stars for nothing!
She whinnied happily before charging even faster! I also let go of the reigns.
Just then, James would notice the world start to slow. We were still going full tilt, but he could see a bee hovering over a flower as we passed, and he could count the number of times he saw the bee's wings beat... He would also find he couldn't let go of the cart! He was quite firmly rooted into place!
The horse leapt as it cleared the cliff. As we completed a graceful arc... the horse leapt again. When Astra's hooves somehow seemed to hit something solid while in mid air, her hooves left a trail of fire through the sky as she leapt and jumped and galloped up towards the floating city.
It felt like moments, but at the speed we were going, it was not even seconds before we reached the grand floating city. The Firemane darted over the gates of the city before landing with a clatter of gold colored hooves on the cobbled pavement. The cart landed, bounced a few times from the landing as the horse trotted clear the blaze of flame, before normal time resumed.
People stopped to turn and stare as a Firemane appeared, tethered to a cart, with a young woman on it's back and a young man in the cart emerging from a grand ring of fire... as odd as it must have seemed, it must not be that odd of an occurrence as they soon went back to what they were doing... and the fire on the cobbles quickly went out not even leaving scorch marks...
I turned to look back at James, a big grin on my face. There was a sparkle in my eyes.
Didn't know Astra could do that when you first rode her, did you?
