Lou didn't respond to Amphi. Hell, he couldn't even look at her. For once he was afraid of what might escape his mouth. He wasn't in control of anything right now.
No, he had never had control.
It wasn't until Hel chimed in with her attempt at wisdom that Lou stirred. "Free?" A hoarse voice asked.
"FREE?!" Like a rabid animal unaware of its surroundings, the vampire sprung to his feet, his expression an ugly concoction of morbid amusement and rage. "You filthy swine. How dare you taunt me like that!" His fingers intertwined with his hair as he clutched his head. "I HAD freedom. I HAD ignorance! BUT YOU. You just had to keep pushing me!"
He then looked to Amphi. "And you." There was a special kind of madness in his eyes as he glared into hers. "Are you happy now? Is this what you ******** wanted? Has your curiosity been sated?"

Angelique watched the scene unfold in silence, her fingers interlocking on her lap. Overdramatic was probably right, but in the end, even his brief bout of selfishness ended up biting him in the a**.
The sound of a handle being jostled in the entry way caught her attention.
Oh no. It looked like her parents might have been home early.
"Angelique?" A deep, masculine voice called into the house. "I shut down shop early. Apparently there are some strange folk wandering around." A shuffling sound followed the voice as things were sat down and picked back up.
"I wonder what they could possibly want." A softer, feminine voice followed behind, along with the sounds of a screaming scareling. "Don't imagine they'll be staying long."
