Cody opened his eyes. The stencil of what he was about to spray was visualized on the sun-bleached brick wall in front of him, and he raised the can. Just as he started, the familiar sound of sirens rang out behind him. A couple door slams and a loud, booming voice from a megaphone brought him back to his early teenage years.
“Stop what you’re doing!” an officer exclaimed, his voice growing louder as he got closer.
Cody dropped the can to the ground, and turned around slowly, facing the officer and the line of flashing police cars behind him. “Poochy, let’s go!” he shouted, throwing a pointed finger in the direction of the cops. “Bite! Get us out of here!” The Poochyena launched at the officer, teeth showing. The cop reacted quickly, bringing a pokeball from his belt and throwing it in the direction of the charging Poochyena.
“Zigzagoon! I choose you!”
A basic pokemon could only mean one thing: rookie of the year. Probably a locally caught batch of basic pokemon. This shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes.
Poochyena latched on to the Zigzagoon’s neck and bit down hard, whipping it around like a toy, then throwing it into the air.
“On your feet, Zigzagoon!” the officer shouted, and the pokemon regained it’s bearings and stuck the landing. As soon as its feet touched the ground, the Normal-Type was charging, lowering its head as if acting on its own.
“Poochy, dodge! Now!” Cody shouted, relying on his pokemon’s advanced reflexes, but it wasn’t quite enough. Just as Poochy jumped into the air, the Zigzagoon ran under him, turned around, and launched into the air, hitting him hard and knocking him to the ground. He struggled to get up, but managed to his feet and let out a piercingly loud howl that seemed to boost his morale and attack power. The Zigzagoon launched at him again, but the Poochyena managed to dodge. “Grab it by the tail!” Cody shouted, as Poochy latched on to Zigzagoon’s tail as it flew by him, swinging him around and throwing the opponent’s monster to the ground, K.O.ing the normal type. Cody held out his pokeball and returned the small dog, congratulating him on a great battle.

The officer grunted and scoffed as he retrieved a ball from his belt, and this time threw it into the air, releasing a bird-type pokemon. Cody took a ball from his belt as well, and threw it ahead of him. “Pikachu, let’s go!”
The two opposing pokemon stared each other down for a brief moment before the officer barked an order. “Wingull, tackle!”
Cody nodded and calmly replied, “Pikachu, stand your ground.” The Pikachu dug its feet into the dirt and bent its knees, waiting to receive the attack. Just as the bird was about to strike, Cody shouted, “Thundershock!” Pikachu quickly charged the static in its cheeks and launched a close-range electric blast at the charging bird. With a loud, painful cry, Wingull nose-dived into the dirt and came to a stop at Cody’s feet, knocked out.
“ARGH!” the officer shouted, returning the pokemon to its ball, and quickly replacing its place on the field with a Geodude. “You’re done now!”
Without hesitation, Cody shouted an order to the Pikachu. "Iron Tail! Take it out!"
The officer's mouth dropped, not expecting Pikachu to know much else than electric type attacks. "Defense curl! Go, Geodude!" The Rock-Type pokemon curled itself into a ball, lowering its head as the attack struck, causing minimal damage.
"Quick, once more!" Cody shouted, pointing at the Geodude. "Harder!"
"Grab it!" the officer commanded. Geodude raised its head just in time to see the Iron Tail about to connect with its face. It reached out and grabbed the mouse pokemon's tail, tossing it into the air.
"Stick the landing, Pikachu," Cody said, smiling as the mouse pokemon curled into a ball, flipped in the air a couple times, and landed softly on the ground as if nothing had happened.
Just as Pikachu landed, the Geodude pounded the ground hard, creating a seismic wave that quickly traveled through the ground. "Yeah, Geodude! Magnitude 7!" It was a direct hit that sent Pikachu flying backwards.
Cody pulled a ball from his belt, and returned his pokemon before it was able to hit the ground. "Axew, let's go!" he shouted, replacing Pikachu with his baby dragon companion. Geodude gave a quick taunt, and as he opened his eyes, Axew was there with an Iron Tail to the face, sending him flying into a tree and knocking the rock-type out. "Game over!" Cody exclaimed, returning the Axew, and picking the spray paint up off the ground. A few cops ran after him as he retreated toward the front of the building, pressing the head of the spray can down and leaving a train of blue paint along the side of the wall as he ran, disappearing around the corner and into the front of the building. "Now to find my team."

"It's about time I get to do something." Reaper said as he looked at the guards and tossed one over to the side. "Alright, let's get this battle over with." He said, sending out Poochyena as his first pokemon while the guard gets back up and sends out a Growlithe.

~Battle Start~

Foe Growlithe uses Howl, increasing it's own Spirit, gaining a +1 in Attack.

Poochyena uses Swagger, enraging Foe Growlithe and confusing it in the process, but increasing it's Attack stat by 2 stages.

Foe Growlithe tries to attack but instead hit's itself due to confusing, suffering a major hit from itself.

Poochyena uses Foul Play, using the Foe Growlithe's heightened Attack against it, hitting it with extreme power, but leaving the Growlithe barely standing.

Poochyena uses Sucker Punch, which strikes the Foe Growlithe before it could attack itself, and fainting the Growlithe.

The Guard sends out Duskull.

Round 4

Poochyena uses Odor Sleuth, Identifying the Foe Duskull, enabling Normal and Fight Type moves to hit Foe Duskull and disabling it from increasing it's Evasiveness.

Foe Duskull attacks with Dark Pulse, blasting a sphere of dark energy at Poochyena, striking it and inflicting minor wounds.

Poochyena uses Super Fang, successfully biting the Foe Duskull, causing the Duskull to fall back from pain.

Foe Duskull repeats it's Dark Pulse attack, flinging a sphere of dark energy at Poochyena, inflicting minor wounds.

Poochyena attacks with Crunch, biting the Foe Duskull and hitting it in it's weak spot, dealing heavy damage and fainting the Duskull.

Foe Guard returns the Duskull and sends out Tyrogue.

Round 7

Tyrogue attacks with Mach Punch, punching Poochyena faster than lightning, and hitting a weak spot, fainting Poochyena.

"Sorry Poochyena, but you did great. Rest up." Reaper said and returned Poochyena to his ball and let Starly step up to the battlefield.

Starly attacks with Brave Bird, tucking in his wings and charging at a low altitude, striking Foe Tyrogue hard, which is now barely standing. Starly is hurt from the sheer force of it's attack,

Tyrogue attacks with Hi Jump Kick, jumping high into the air to strike down, but ultimately miss, causing itself to faint due to it already being weakened from Starly, ending the battle.

~Battle End~

Reaper returns Starly to his pokeball and walks over and ties up the guard after slamming him into several empty wooden boxes then slamming him to the ground. After hog tying the guard he gets up and walks back to where the leader is at.

"Alright Corphish, help me load the the goods into the truck." Reaper said as he and Corphish began loading the goods into the truck as fast as possible.

Patting away the embers on his bag, he couldn't believe how unready he was for battle. He'd always thought it would be easy just to shout out moves. Ike bowed his head in embarrassment and unquestioningly began loading the trailer. He had only signed up after overhearing others about an opportunity for adventure and advancement with Pokemon, but found himself to be in a completely different situation.
I could leave... he thought. I could run away right now. Im pretty quick. Go alarm the police. Escape from this Archie guy with Totodile.
But he kept loading the trailer. Archie was too intimidating for him to even attempt an escape. Not to mention the other members would chase him as well and tie him up, even take his new Totodile from him.
"Read the fine print next time I guess..." he said to himself while grabbing another box.

Sport pushes open the door and exits the stairwell, only to find a trio of guards in his path. "Umm... I guess we each take one?" he says to the two next to him. One guard catches his eye and sends out a Growlithe.

"Carvanha, your turn," Sport says, sending out his water-type to counter the other's fire Pokémon. "Aqua Jet!" Carvanha shoots forward behind a stream of water, catching the Growlithe by surprise. The guard was quick to respond, instructing his Pokémon to use Reversal. The attack nearly wiped out Carvanha, due to the power of the movie and Carvanha's weakness to it.

"Carvanha, Aqua Jet again!" Sport yells. Carvanha again shoots forward and takes down the guard's Growlithe. The guard recalls his fallen companion and sends out a Shinx to take its place. Sport gritted his teeth, knowing his Carvanha wouldn't last much longer in this fight. "Aqua Jet again!" For a third time, Carvanha shoots forward, doing some damage, before being taken out by the opponent's Thunder Fang. "Thanks buddy," he whispered as he recalled his Carvanha. "That'll make it easier for the others."

Sport sends out his Dratini next. "Dragon Rush!" he says. Dratini suddenly charges her enemy, ramming into him with enough force to knock it out. The guard returns it and sends out a Poochyena. "Again!" Dratini again charges, but the Poochyena, expecting it, moves aside. As Dratini slides by, Poochyena turns its head and sinks its jaws into Dratini's body. Dratini, roaring with pain, quickly flings its tail into Poochyena's side. Poochyena responds by ramming its head into Dratini. The attack is barely enough to sideline Dratini, and Sport recalls her.

"Larvitar, finish this off," Sport says, sending his final Pokémon out. "Crunch." Larvitar ambled forward and sank its teeth into the foe, KOing it, The guard, realizing he had nothing left, took off for the exit and hopefully, escape. "Nicely done!" Sport exclaims, patting his Larvitar on the head. "We showed him! I think we might fit in after all."

*I look over and see a security guard coming up*
Me: Well, first time for everything...
SG: Halt!
Me: Sorry, not happening.
SG: Growlithe, stop him!
*A Growlithe appears from its PokéBall*
Me: Please, we're Team Aqua! Go Carvanha!
*My Carvanha comes out of its PokéBall, with a taste for blood*
SG: Use Take Down!
*The Growlithe recklessly slams into Carvanha taking damage from recoil and Rough Skin*
Me: That wasn't smart, Waterfall!
*Carvanha summons a great spout of water that he climbs up and hits hard into Growlithe*
Me: Now Aqua Jet!
*Carvanha uses the leftover water and quickly swims through it, KOing Growlithe*
SH: That's not good! Voltorb go!
*The electric orb appears*
Me: Use Aqua Jet again!
*Voltorb gets dinged quickly*
SH: Use Thundershock!
*A quick burst of electricity appears, and then Carvanha is quickly KOed*
Me: Carvanha, return, Abra go!
*Carvanha is recalled as the mind shrew appears*
Me: Abra, use Psyshock!
*Abra looks at Voltorbs defenses, and the hits them with a harmful mind wave*
SH: Use Spark!
*Voltorb electrically slams into Abra*
Me: Another time!
*Abra spots the weaknesses and hits it again, KOing*
SH: I'd like to see you do that with Poochyena!
*A black dog appears*
Me: Does everyone but me have one of those? Charge Beam.
*Abra sends a powerful electric current at Poochyena, harming it*
SH: Bite!
*Poochyena bites down hard and KOs Abra*
Me: Squirtle, go!
*My water turtle appears, ready for action*
Me: Water Gun!
*Poochyena is drenched in water*
SH: Bite it!
*A bite comes for Squirtle, who winces in pain*
Me: Water Gun again.
*Poochyena goes down, barely"
Me: Take that you silly guard.
SG: I told them I needed access to better Pokémon*

Dark walks down the hallway, keeping an eye out for suspicious characters. Suddenly a guard bursts from the shadows and tackles Dark. Dark quickly gets the guard off of him, but is hit with a punch.
"Ack, dammit!" Dark clenches his teeth and throws a punch, hitting the guard in the chest. He then grabs the guard, trips him, and elbows him in the back of the neck, knocking him out.
"Tch, idiot." Dark stretches and begins to head back to the loading bay, but sees a guard running towards him from that direction. He turns and makes a run for it down the hallway. He makes a few turns and ends up at a locked exit door. He turns to find the guard waiting for him, a pokeball readied.

"So it's gonna be like this, huh?" Dark asks, reaching down for a Pokeball.
"Unless you surrender!" The guard shouts.
Dark grabs a Pokeball and throws it, revealing a Larvitar and his answer.
The guard sends out a Spoink.
"Brick, use Payback!"
"Spoink, confusion!"
The bouncing pig's eyes glow as it readies it's mental attack. The Larvitar smirks, ready to deal the pain. Larvitar is struck by confusion, a splitting headache. He writhes around a bit but once the pain settles, he glows with a dark aura. He rushes the Spoink and crushes it with dark revenge. The Pokemon goes down.

"Good job, Brick." Dark looks over at the guard who had recalled his Pokemon.
"You jerk!" He cries. "Go, Cacnea!" He throws a Pokeball and a green spiky ball of a Pokemon appears.
"Brick, come back." Dark recalls his Pokemon while the Guard cries out "Needle Arm!"
Dark throws another Pokeball and a Chimchar appears. The flame monkey is hit by the attack but brushes it off.
"Diddy, Fire Punch!" The monkey nods and lunches at the Cactus with a burning fist. This Chimchar has the Iron Fist ability, boosting punches.
He jabs the grass Pokemon in the side with his knuckles and it goes down after skipping down the hallway.
"NOOOO Cacnea!" The Guard cries. He recalls it and turns back to Dark. "Criminal scum! I'll stop you!" He throws a Pokeball and a Foretress appears.
"Really?" Dark scoffs and plays with his goatee. "Diddy, Flamethrower."
The Chimchar chirps happily and roasts the steel/bug Pokemon. The Pokemon burns for awhile before being recalled.
"Hahaha, now get outta here!" Dark grins as he pets Diddy.
"I'm the one who'll have the last laugh! For I used that turn to radio for backup!"
"....Uh-oh." Dark recalls Chimchar in time to watch 6 more guards barreling down the hallway towards him. He lifts his leg up and kicks the door, busting the lock and causing it to swing open. He flees outside.

"Ok, yeah, we're out of here."
Maddy started towards the exit, running as fast as her legs would take her. She only had one Pokemon left that was battle ready now and she couldn't risk getting into another trainer battle.

After a few moments, she burst out of the back exit and noticed everyone was climbing into a truck. She quickly joined them.
