Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death"
Xuza clenched and grit her teeth at the beginning of the ceremony; she was quite sure this was going to hurt a lot.
Instead, she simply had a light headache,
feeling perhaps that she had stood up too quickly. A tingling sensation followed as the weight that bore down on her mind as relentless as sun in the arctic--she clung to it as such, feeling that she was no more ready for the cold of few degrees fewer than to sprint into the arms of her nemesis; and a blackness rolled over her like the mythical nights of the City of the Dead.
Xuza found herself face-to-face with a small female on a seat much too large for her...
--a throne, yes... --She approached the seat and noted the menacing mien of the way the miniature maniac carried on. For whatever reason, she felt a weakness in her knees.
She became angry--angry at herself, most of all; she began to yell to some unseen, perhaps ubiquitous, observer the way she might address Paradox...
Nothing answered. The next realisation to strike her was that every ounce of ire seemed to weigh her down, as though some gremlins had been having their fun by tossing down sandbags on her. Each time she protested,
she sunk closer to that soul-crippling kneel she promised to escape from in regards to another captor. Slowly... Slowly... Undeniably...
And then, the world returned. The meister found herself blinking the color and life of the world around her in--eye-gulps, innit? "I... I feel good." A sigh followed, and Xuza let her attention fall to her flexing-unfurling fingers. "Like a weight has been taken from my shoulders."

If one were to glance at Egil they might notice something strange going on with one of his eyes. A wispy indigo smoke seemed to be coming from behind his eyes balls. The scientist covers his face and after a moment the leakage stops. Ren was pleased that there hadn't been any adverse effects. " Good. It seems that even my temporary seal was able to counter act that witches. As you grow in strength the amount of power you can draw from will increase as well. Now then you should have received a vision at the moment of branding. This is called a Focus. What did the vision show you? "

The meister found herself nodding along to what was being said, noting that she was no longer able to summon her wings to take shape. She brushed the thought aside. "I just hope it lasts," she concluded.
"A vision? ... Yes." The meister's mind was processing a lot, but she was able to relate with ease the vivid and surreal scene her mind was whisked away to.
"I can't really say I understand it," said Xuza as she finished her testimony. She glanced over to Egil, slightly concerned at his continued chuckling, before focusing on Ren.

Well more specifically how the Chaos was doing inside her. As Egil catches Xuza's gaze he turns away embarrassed. " Well that's normal with visions. Could you make out any images. Places? People? Think hard. It's important. "

Xuza nodded, blankness on her face. "I was on steps... Above me was a small girl with white hair on a shiny throne. She was smiling down at me--almost laughing--and for whatever reason I felt compelled to kneel..."
"That's about it," said the meister with a confidence in her lack of expertise. "I felt frustrated--obviously--and I get the sense my emotions were... I don't know, driving me downward?" She gave up a shrug. "Am I going to see this kind of stuff all the time?" she asked obviously beleaguered.

She looks down for a moment and a singular tear of joy brims to the surface of her left eye. Egil brings her a tissue and leaves the room somewhat upset. Ren pulls her self together and smiles. " Well you just keep surprising me Miss. Xuza. It's natural that the vision be ambiguous at first. As you train you'll eventually unlock clearer vision. It'll just take sometime. "

"... Ma'am?" Xuza whispered, reaching out to the kitsune briefly and retracting it quickly. "Are you alright? What... What should I do now?" Surely she was intent on following through with what had come to be her mission now, but this was a bit much for the meister to take in at the moment. It was the way in which Ren reacted that set off this worry in Xuza. Surprising... She repeated it a couple times in her head, trying to find the meaning it could bring.

Much like Yakō it seemed to brighten the room and yet on could tell Ren did such a thing rarely. " Sorry. The person you saw in your vision is someone very important to me. That's all I can say. Well I'm pretty sure you can't use your old powers so you have a choice. You can train here with me or you can train on your own and call me when your ready. All you have to do is touch your mark and I'll come as soon as possible. "

That's right... She had a choice now. No matter what, though, that choice didn't include going back to the way things were. That was good in that sense that it would mean a certain freedom from Paradox, but she was going to have to learn how to battle again. This was something that didn't ease her mind.
"I'll take your word for it," said the meister, somewhat lost. "Then if it's all the same to you, I'd like to train with you for a little while. I can't pretend to know anything about how to fight without my old powers, let alone these knew abilities. I don't exactly want to chance a mishap like what happened to your son, either," she decided.

To be honest the seal had taken a lot out of her but it was worth it. " My children were born with the ability to use some of that power. My oldest recognized it as a curse and decided to abandon it completely and find his own path. Though I love Egil dearly his body and mind are not stable enough for him to use it properly. Of course as a mother I decided not to train them personally as I wanted them to come into thier own. You are the first student of mine in a long time. Trust in me and I'll guarantee you'll be satisfied with your progress. Now try to get some rest. " (I'll post in the training location)
