Exodus' gaze softened as he looked to Anastasia, understanding well enough what she was asking of him. "Of course." He knew exactly what she was feeling since he felt the same...one look at her face told him. He put a comforting hand on her shoulder and smiled, trying to offer her at least a bit of calm. "There's no need to be nervous. Just relax." If she was relaxed, she'd find herself feeling much better.
He seemed somewhat surprised when Ana revealed that she was thinking the exact same thing as him. She knew well enough that in this world, their love wasn't in line with the laws of the land, nor did it have a very good chance of survival as far as it came when it was time to fight. Power...if only he had the power to protect her, but he just couldn't do as much as he desired.
Exodus wrapped his arms around her, holding her close even though he knew very well how the story would end for both of them. With any luck...he could fight just enough to give her a chance at life if he had to go. "I'm scared too...that's why I'll hold you close for as long as you need me to. Whatever may come, I won't ever forget your smile...your laugh...and everything. If my sacrifice costs me my life, then...I'll at least have the memory of loving you to comfort me. We may die, but for now we're both alive. We should cherish that together."
Exodus had known for a while now that trying to prevent himself from falling in love was futile. He wanted to bond with somebody, and it just happened that she was somebody who looked for that same closeness. If at all possible, he didn't want this moment to end.

Anastasia immediately began to relax as he placed a calming hand on her shoulder. She tense body relaxed and she blushed again looking to him. She honestly couldn't believe how much she's come to care for him for the time they had spent together. She'd been alone for so long and now that she's gotten a taste of what it was like to be with someone she cared for, she never wanted to be alone again.
Feeling his arms wrap around her she turned bright red tensing just slightly before relaxing into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his waist, her head resting on his chest. She was surprised to hear his own hammering heartbeat in his chest. It was so loud she had to wonder if maybe it was her own heartbeat.
She wanted to be able to look back into this moment. She wanted to treasure every single memory she had with Vincent from now on. So that, when the time comes, when she dies, she can die with a smile on her face.
She hugged him tightly, closing her eyes. Let's n-not talk about that now. she said quietly. Despite it being the truth, she didn't want to always think they had to do things because they were going to die. She wanted them to put it out of their mind and just love eachother openly. As if nothing was happening in the world.
She stepped away from him and after a light meal she pulled off her boots and jacket to lay in bed. Trying not to make it awkward or seem like it was anything but just sleeping she pulled him into bed with her and turned red. W-we're only s-sleeping. she reminded. And know that under normal circumstances I wouldn't let you into my bed so easily. she said hiding her embarrassment again. She laid close to him, her head laying on his arm, as she wrapped one shorter arm around his waist.

Exodus stared at her with his tired-looking eyes, but he understood that she was thinking something far different from what he was thinking. "Oh? I don't doubt it...although, you could've easily just pushed me on to the floor." Exodus smiled at Anastasia, but in all honesty, he couldn't keep from showing his exhaustion. "Good night..." Exodus had to admit, he was reassured by Ana's last words to him.
Keeping Anastasia close to him may have been folly...or perhaps he was just imagining it, but he understood the last thing he wanted to do was let her go. In this ephemeral moment, he felt like his worries melted away. Maybe she felt the same, he could smile knowing that she was with him.
He felt at ease when he rested, but...there was just a sense of unease that he couldn't shake, no matter how hard he tried. He understood that it'd be better if he put it out of his mind...if it was just the two of them in the entire world, but doubt was something he couldn't get rid of easily. He grew up in the shadow of doubt, and no matter how many fond moments he had with Ana, there would always be a lingering feeling of foreboding.
It was that same doubt that made him grind his teeth a bit...or rather, fear. Exodus couldn't explain it, but every night he couldn't help but feel a bit of apprehension at the idea of falling asleep. "Don't...leave me..."

Ana laid there too embarrassed to look Vincent in the eyes. Instead she tucked her head under his chest and rubbed her hands on his back in an attempt to lull him to sleep. She could feel his body tense and wondered if he was uncomfortable the way things were. She only held him tighter and heard him asking her not to leave. The way he said it tugged at her heart and she gently gripped tightly to his shirt. I won't...I promise. she whispered. She could feel him relax and she buried her face into his chest.
I love you...so I won't leave. she mumbled against him having realized she hadn't told him she loved him yet. Her face was burning bright red, and she had no way of knowing if he heard her or not. Regardless she waited until he was asleep before looking to him. He looked guarded even when he was asleep. She blushed slightly and gently stroked his cheek with her hand, making sure he was really asleep, she leaned down and pressed her lips on her forehead hoping it would relax him.
She remained away for another hour, just watching Vincent, and thinking to herself. It wasn't long after that her eyes fell heavy and she fell asleep again, resting close to him, and holding him in her arms. Exodus lost every doubt he had, hearing her words even as he drifted in to a peaceful sleep. It had been an eventful day, and he wouldn't have traded it for the world. For once, he felt as though there was actually somebody there to offer him comfort, and even asleep, he was calm with her next to him through the night. He felt her soft emotions as he rested in her embrace, seeing a side of her he would've otherwise never seen if they didn't need each other.

Exodus awoke some time later, still feeling something pressed against his body. For a moment, the feeling was foreign, but he was able to discern Ana's figure in the glow of the sun. She looked the same way she did earlier yesterday...when she was asleep he could tell that she could actually forget all of her worries, unlike him. It made him a bit jealous, but the thought of her having peaceful dreams made him smile. Perhaps she saw a world he didn't when she was asleep...if so, he would've loved to have seen it for himself.
He ran his hand through her hair, keeping his touch soft as to not rouse her before she woke up. He still remembered what she said the prior night...he had a feeling that was the case, but for her to come out and say she loved him as well made his heart flutter...that feeling was one of the reasons he vowed to fight on. He would allow her to smile beyond this point in time, and if they could do so together...but the thought passed moments later. He was thinking too far in to the future.

Anastasia slept through the night peacefully, feeling far more comfortable than she normally did on these beds. She felt something running through her hair and stirred gently. She woke, slowly blinking her eyes away. She was huddled close to Vincent, however she didn't realize until after a moment. She looked up to find Vincent watching her sleep, her arms wrapped around his. She turned brightly red and gasped shoving him off the bed.
When she came to remember the events of last night and why he was in her bed to begin with she peered over to the fallen Vincent, her cheeks still red. W-why were you just staring at me like that! You startled me! she said embarrassed as if it justified why she pushed him. In truth she was just sorry and wished she could hug him some more.
She pouted and held her hand out to him, S-sorry... she mumbled quietly. Embarrassed byt happy he was still there when she woke up. G-good morning. she said giving him an embarrassed pout.ＣＵＲＲＥＮＴ ＬＯＣＡＴＩＯＮ: Ana's Bedroom

By reflex alone, Exodus noticed the feeling of falling towards the ground and raised his arm over his face while going in to the fall, making sure his shoulder blade hit the floor so he could roll over without having any serious damage done to him. As he landed on the floor with his feet instead of his entire body, he looked over at Ana and shrugged. "That's fine. It's my fault." Exodus rubbed the back of his head, chuckling, but absolutely sure this was going to be one kind of a ride. Even so, he was glad to be along for it.
He hopped up to his feet, dusting himself off before grabbing Ana's hand, lowering it with a smile on his face. "Don't worry yourself. It was just a fall. Good morning to you too." Exodus rubbed the back of his neck, absolutely sure that fall might've killed him if he landed the wrong way. That would've been embarrassing.
"Ready to begin the day with something that doesn't involve shoving?" Exodus asked, crossing his arms behind his head, his violet eyes seeming more alive than they did the day before.

Watching him fall she blinked and then blushed as he took her hand. She nodded her head getting out of bed not realizing how messy her hair was from the sleep. She rubbed her blind eye and reached for her eye patch. Putting it on she looked outside her window and smiled. Let's go see the horses. she said seeming much more open than before. Her smile was a lot brighter and she was not so intent of being mean to him all the time.
Vincent was her boyfriend now, and she wanted to spend as much with him as possible. We also missed combat practice yesterday, so I'll skip the lesson for today. Exodus stretched his arms above his head, keeping himself from yawning to widely as he was starting to wake up. "Right then, but...you should make sure you have the energy to do so first." Exodus didn't know if he was only speaking for himself, but the meal from the previous night wasn't exactly filling enough to see him through any portion of the next day. He'd never say it out loud, but he was starving...of course, that was just par for the course here.
Exodus would've opened the door, but he stopped short...what if somebody walked by the moment he did that. How would they react to seeing both of them walking out of the room at the same time after spending the night together? Exodus frowned, knowing that she wasn't going to sacrifice that much of her image when it was so easy to assume the absolute last thing that would've happened that night.
It was an interesting predicament, but probably one that Exodus was forcing on himself since he didn't know what Anastasia would've thought of it. Exodus was silent as he pondered the situation...the last thing he wanted was for people to start talking and getting the wrong idea, but honestly, he'd forced himself in to this position.

Anastasia watched him stretch glad he mentioned breakfast as she was pretty hungry. She hadn't been so hungry in her life. She loved eating, and back home she could have eaten all she wanted. Here, there were rations and she had to make due with what they gave her. It took all she had not to complain about it. After all, she didn't have to be here and eat their "ration portioned" meals. She brushed her hair in front of her window. Since they didn't allow mirrors into the barracks she had to make do with any reflection she could find. Pulling on her jacket she noticed Vincent just standing in front of the door. She blinked her one eye and approached the door opening it and shyly took his hand as they stepped out. Exodus wouldn't claim he understood it, but training in seclusion seemed to increase performance in certain types of people. Perhaps because they felt they didn't need to hold back when nobody could see them. Exodus ate quickly, planning to store the energy for as long as he had the time to do so, but he was expecting to burn it all off quickly since he'd had his own sessions to attend to. Exodus crossed his arms, looking to Anastasia for a moment before wondering if he could really keep fighting as though he meant to kill...he wanted to hold back, but he knew he couldn't if he wanted her stronger.
As a teacher...Exodus had to refuse to hold back an inch when he and Ana ended up going at it. It would teach her more about combat, and increase her stamina as it had been doing. She could be built up quickly, as Exodus had observed, but like Ezra, she had her own pace. "If you think you can handle day to night training, I won't stop you. It'll be a good endurance test."

Anastasia watched Vincent wolf down his meal and sighed, taking her time with her own. She was smaller so she didn't think about needing so much to eat. She broke a bit of bread placing it on his plate. Go on and have that, and I don't know about training from day to night. We'll need to work my way there, I mean...I'm not used to exerting so much energy. she told him. It'd be best to work on my stamina, I get pretty tired easily. she explained finishing her soup. Once they finished their meal she made Vincent put their dishes to wash and had him follow her to the clearing they usually practiced in.
There she looked around again making sure no one could see and then looked to him. Well alright then, what are we doing today? she asked wanting to warm up a little. Exodus followed after Anastasia, rolling his right arm along the way. Exodus listened to Ana's question before turning to face her. "Let's be sure you have the basics down before we move on to anything else. I want you to take me down, simple as that." Exodus resolved to see her defeated her, but if she could beat him then he wouldn't have anymore doubts about her ability to take him at his finest. "Show me what you can do!"
Exodus waited until she was completely ready before rushing off on his feet, full speed. He had to close the distance quickly in order to finish quickly. The first one to strike was the victor, after all, so he reached out to grab the shoulder of her shirt while his back leg swung to the front in order to strike low. If this worked the way he was expecting it to, the battle would've already been won, but he had no doubt Ana would be able to survive past this single instance. She'd seen this tactic a million times...this one was no different.

Anastasia stretched her small body, her mound and curves moving along with her stretches. She got into position looking to him and studying him. As expected, she'd seen this many times before. She braced herself as he grabbed her shirt, but quickly blocked his leg as he swung for her. She managed to slip from his grasp kicking him behind the knee to knock him off balance. She would then push from his shoulders to push him down. Managing to get on top of him she kept her legs by his sides, sitting on his stomach to keep away from his hips. A hand pushed down on his chest and another on his throat.
Breathing heavily she grinned cheerfully, Oh come on. You've done this before, you're holding back Vincent. she accused. She let him go but didn't get off his stomach wanting to hear his explanation. Is your head okay? she asked reaching back to check the back of his head since he fell hard into the ground.

Exodus cringed, not because of the hit, but rather...because Ana was accusing him of going easy on her when he said he wouldn't. "I wouldn't ever...it's not in my nature." Exodus replied, looking up at Ana. His face turned bright red for a second as he posted up on his legs to send Ana forward with as much strength as he had out of instinct. He ended up wrapping both of his arms around her torso, almost paralyzed as his heartbeat began to increase in speed. He placed his lips to Ana's, feeling almost a bit ashamed for being unable to do this openly...instead he had to justify it with training. He withdrew quickly looking off to the side as he rolled Ana on to her back before placing his fist against her forehead...almost taunting on his part.
"You...aren't bad at all. From this moment forth though, I can't hold back. The fight begins on the ground, so don't stop until you're completely sure you've won." Exodus tried to explain calmly, but he was almost certain his entire body was shaking. Even from such a light kiss...he felt like his body was going to burst in to flames. "D-don't hold it against me or anything...it was...for a job well done."
