She had seen her officers give a handshake after a greeting, or a joke, or to seal a deal. Zero understood that she was a soldier. That was one thing that would be difficult to change.
"Your apologies are not necessary," she said, still studying his hand. "You were protecting the students and your friends." She paused and shifted her eyes. Would she leave the man's hand unshaken?
Kali reached out her hand and grabbed Zero's she gave it a firm shake. The first contact that didn't result in an injury, or because of an injury. She felt something inside begin to chip away. "I am only an ally until everyone else learns what I am. And they will..."
She blinked away the realization. Eventually, that would happen. Logan would find out and he would kill her. She wasn't ready. She wanted to change before she died.
Although she was sure that she had done enough that she had a reservation in Hell.

ZERO "If that time comes, I'll handle Logan. Remember, I'm one of the few people that can take him. And I haven't even dipped into my abilities yet. I told you, I never leave an ally behind. If Logan tries something, I'll handle him."

D e T o u R To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, The portal closed as Daniel finished coming out of it. It's emerald after glow fading. He glanced around the hall seeing the remnants of a crowd scatter. One could only wonder the mass had gathered for. A fight, a meeting? He couldn't be sure. Daniel looked to his left to see one boy in a stance as if he was ready to fight someone. He smiled.
"I'm back and the only greeting I get is this kid trying to beat me up. Only at Xavier's, what's your name sunny?"
Daniel spoke in a mocking voice sounding similar to an older gentleman from New York. Danny was a bit a of clown and generally just loved merriment and mischief. He looked at the boy and awaited a response curios to know why he was in an attack stance. Was the boy simply just off put by the sudden appearance of one of Mr. Chase's portals? draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali hesitated, then nodded. She wouldn't count on Zero helping her, or defending her. She wanted to say what she had told Jade. She didn't need anyone to stand for her. She deserved whatever was coming to her and it wasn't friendship. She was exactly what everyone at the lab had called her.
She was the spawn of satan, she was a soldier, a demon...a monster. Monsters don't have friends. And anyone who had ever tried to befriend a monster, always ended up hurt.
Why did Kali care? Kindness was a thing short lived, in her world. But she wasn't in her world...she was in someone else's.

HAVOK "I just...I was shocked to see a random portal in the wall. I didn't know what was going on. Who are you???" He still kept his guard up, not sure if he could trust him, while mentally calling for Xavier. Besides, he was sure the newcomer was mocking him, and while, as a prankster, he could take the fun and even enjoy it, he wasn't sure if this guy was a joker or just arrogant. That ticked him off. ZERO "I know that you're wary, and that's understandable, but you have to realize that you're not in war anymore. Trust me, I know. I have flashbacks and nightmares, and my room's almost always a mess because of it. That's why I can't have dorm mates. I understand, Kali. You're not alone. You have me, you have Xavier, you even have Logan. Okay, this school isn't out to get you. We're here to help you. I'm here to help you..."

Kali closed her eyes, lightly and for only a moment. The rage inside of her was cowering back to the dark hole in her heart. That's where it belonged. There, it would stay until its need arose.
"Lets get on with my punishment," she frowned. "The suspense is killing me."
☄˙˙·..·˙·..·˙˙· a light from the shadows shall spring Xavier heard Havok's call and sighed. "The boy comes and goes as he pleases, he is no threat, but if you would show him back here. I need to speak with Kali, first, then I will see him." Xavier's mind channeled to Zero's. "Please, bring Kali down. If she is calm enough."

ZERO Hearing Xavier's call just as Kali asked for her punishment, Zero sighed. "Xavier just asked me to bring you to his office. I guess they're ready for you." He let go of Kali's hand, having just now realized that they were still shaking hands, and backed up, pointing down the hall. "I have to walk behind you to make sure you don't run. But I'm not Logan, I'm not gonna rough you up. And, about this..." he holds up the knife. "I'm sorry, but until Xavier clears you, I have to hold on to this." HAVOK Havok heard the Professor say that the kid was a member here, and relaxed. "I'm sorry, bro, I just didn't know what was going on. I'm Alex. Alex Summers." He stepped forward, offering the newcomer his hand.

The action and the adventure, the community and the chaos, it was all Daniel loved thrown into a school. Daniel released his hand from Alex's.
"Daniel Chase. Adventurer, Explorer, and Humanitarian." Danny let out a little chuckle and grinned. "My X-Man codename is Detour. But you can call me Danny." draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.

She was sure that the good professor would have an earful to say to her. She was sure that she was in, deep because she had already been threatened with their prison.
She eyed the knife that was in Zero's hand. She winced and knew that she had more where that came from. She reached into her right boot and pulled out three more throwing knives. She had two in her left boot and a blade that she retrieved from a holster around her back, under her shirt. That one, was a combat knife. She handed them all to Zero.
What could she say, she liked her blades.
"Having only one, won't do much good," she said and then began walking towards Xavier's office. She remembered how to get there.

HAVOK Havok smiled as Detour introduced himself. "So, Danny, how did you get here? Well, I mean, I know how you got here." He pointed to the wall. "I mean, how did the Academy find you? Or did you find it?"

D e T o u R To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, "Same as most, the Professor found me using Cerebro and contacted me. I said I'd check it out but I didn't like staying in one place for a long time so I traveled using my portals."
Daniel was an adventurous boy. His home life was horrid and to escape he'd have fantastical dreams of exploring the world. When his mutant abilities emerged he decided that that was his cue to exit left. Danny traveled nearly everywhere from England to Equador. He smiled thinking of his travels as he spoke to the boy, Alex. draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.

HAVOK Alex sensed that there was something more, but he wasn't worried about that. He himself refused to speak unless he wanted to, so if Detour had things on his mind, he would share when he was ready. "So...if you've been in and out a lot and never really stuck around...you don't have a dorm, do you? I've been kinda lonely lately with all this fussing, and it doesn't feel normal, even at Xavier's. You can chill with me until you get your own."

D e T o u R To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, Daniel thought that Alex would make a great roommate and a great friend. They were both pranksters and mischievous. He looked forward to what the universe had in store for the two. With all the uproar and commotion afoot in the school something bad was bound to happen.
Daniel smiled and began walking down the hall. He motioned for Alex to follow as he created another portal. An amethyst colored portal began to appear. It started as a small circle and slowly increased in size. Once it became big enough for both of the boys to enter, Daniel began to speak.
"HItlha'."
Klingon, Daniel spoke Klingon. Follow me is what was heard by anyone who spoke the alien language but to anyone else that heard Danny's perfect Klingon accent, it was simply gibberish. Daniel walked into the portal exiting the hall and leaving the portal open. If anyone were to enter it would close up behind them. draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life. ((Daniel exits to the Rec Room))

 Alex heard Danny speak the words, and it took him a minute to follow, he was so stunned. "You...You speak Klingon? Awesome, bro!" He stepped after the boy into the portal.

 Kitty came bouncing down the hallway, headphones blaring pop music, and saw two boys talking. Then they seemed to make plans and disappeared into the wall. "Oh," she muttered to herself. "So Detour's back." Turning around, she saw Logan pacing the halls and bounced up to him. "Well you look happy. What happened?"
