Elijah glared at the demon, turning his head slightly to the side. "I am listening, so what? I"ll be fi-." The sentence was cut off abruptly, a small sound close to a surprised yelp of sorts coming from him before their lips were pressed together. Both hands lifted to grab at the hand in his hair before one reached to push at Devin, turning his head to stop the probing muscle in his mouth. If that didn't work, the being could only do the next thing he could think of, jaw tensing to bite down on the other's tongue. Either he would be able to turn his head to break the kiss, or blood would be drawn; which of course would be up to Devin.

The demons grip on the others hair was firm but for the most part gentle, simply there so the other could not turn away more then anything else; the hand on his chest did little to dissuade him more did it push him away; Devin might be injured, but Elijah was sick so the pushing really didn't affect him at all. Thankfully the lesser demon knew if he pushed his luck the other would bite down on his tongue or something to that effect when he realized his weak struggled wouldn't suffice and he pulled back moments before the others teeth decided to snap down on his tongue.
Wiping his mouth shakily with the back of his hand he figured that should be enough saliva to speed up the healing process, a good nights sleep and with luck, the others fever would break and he;d be on the road to recovery "Was that so goddamn difficult?" He huffed at the other before pushing him down "Go to sleep, do NOT make me sit on you" He warned.

Taking a breath when te kiss was broken, Elijah started coughing and rubbed at his mouth, face flush from the high fever but also now from the sudden attack. "Shut up! Get off me! I said I'll be fine!" Both hands were pushing at the demon above him now, the actions almost having no energy behind it as he struggled to get up. "I haven't eaten tonight, that's all," he added, rolling over onto his side before trying to climb out if the bed on the other side. Yes, he was being more than stubborn, but that was just the way he was, not accustomed to receiving care so much as giving it.

"Bullshit! I felt your temperature! Your going to DIE if you keep ignoring it!" Devin snapped when the other tried to climb out the other side of the bed the lesser demon pulled him back easily holding him gently by the shoulders "Will you just STOP!?" He growled "This is not because you haven;t eaten...this is because you cared for me while I was out of it wasn't it?" He said softly before he sighed "Look for once in your holy life will you just rest and let yourself recover? you keep acting like nothing is wrong and this fever is LITERALLY going to kill you, and like hell I want your death on my conscience"

Being pulled back onto the bed so easily, the angel laid down and turned his head to the side to draw in a breath. "Why do you care if I do? You can escape then," he muttered, hand lifting to touch his own head as the demon continued to yell, flinching as the sound echoed through his mind. "Could you please not yell at me," Elijah added, rubbing at his temples lightly. "Fine, I'll stay put. There is soup on the stove I made earlier when you passed out. Think you can go get some for the both of us? I'll do as you ask and sleep after that, okay?"

"I have...enough to deal with without being responsible for your death as well already have enough crap going on in my head...I don't need you giving me nightmares" Devin grumbled before he paused, then nodded at the others comments about eating then sleeping "Tat will suffice...the saliva I gave you should be working now...by tomorrow you'll be well on the road to recovery" the demon said before he stood slowly and limps his way to the stove, after warming up the soup and cutting some bread he came back and offered a bowl to the other before sitting sown to sit cross legged next to the bed and eat his own.

Only when the demon was gone did Elijah hang his head, hands pressed to his face as his thoughts ran wild. When was the last time a captive had last for so long? It was going on what....two weeks..three? He had lost count. To be locked in this place for so long and not being able to go anywhere else...The angel curled up on his side and hugged the pillow to his face for several moments before straightening again when joined once more. "You rest here. I will sleep on the couch. It's closer to the fire and the warmth with help break the fever," he muttered, carefully taking the bowl before he began to eat while he thought about what Devin had said. "You have nightmares too..?" It was asked so quietly, the angel didn't even know if the demon would hear, carefully eating the soup that had been handed to him.

"..." Devin was quiet as he ate slowly savouring the meal rather then wolfing it down, lest he decide to throw it up for eating too fast; his ears picked up the others words though and he glanced at the other before looking away from him as if not wanting to admit that he had weaknesses, even more so since the angels had almost torn him apart completely the last time they had gotten a hold of him.
"Only about what they did to me" He admitted softly his torn wing twitching from the memory of what they did to him shifting he stood up and placed his bowel to one side "...You...DO know what they did to me...right?" He said softly; he didn't want to talk about it...but on the other hand he wanted someone, ANYONE, to acknowledge that what had been done to him was beyond the realms of wrongness, even to a prisoner of war; but he didn't even know if the other knew he;d been raped and he wasn't about to come out and say it without being forced to.

Continuing to eat the soup that had been brought to him, the angel settled a bit more into the bed and managed a sad smile. "I'm not blind, Devin," he whispered, saying the demon's name softly. He finished his meal a few moments later before he set the bowl to the side and slowly got up off the bed. "Or did I miss something? When they brought you, there was so much blood...I didn't know where to start," Elijah stated, taking one step away from the bed before his knees buckled and he ended up on the floor; staring silently in disbelief at his own body. Lifting a pale hand in front of his face, he gazed at the shaking limb and laughed a bit. "I had to stop it or you really wouldn't have made it..."

Devin was quiet at that as the other spoke; so he saw the extent if the external damage...but he probably didn't even notice the internal damage, he hadn't healed him in that area and it was part of the reason he was still limping heavily "...You did" He said simply before shaking his head "It doesn't matter, if you don't know maybe it's better that way" He said softly before he sighed when the angel collapsed under his own weight, picking him up he dragged him back to the bed "You need to stay put idiot" He said softly.
At the others comment about him having to stop it he frowned "Why do you care? Seriously why? You obviously dislike me immensely, and yet you saved me anyway...are you that desperate for company you'll save the broken for your own selfish reasons?" He asked "Is that why you pulled me back from death? so you wouldn't be lonely?"
Devin closed his eyes "Such selfishness...Apart of me really wishes you;d let me die...the more you heal me the worse it hurts" He said softly before tucking the other back into bed "Sleep, you need to recover, other prisoners will need you...after all you refuse to leave this prison yourself, you...are just as trapped as me"

The being allowed himself to be put back onto the bed, hands reaching out to grab at the demon's arm to stop him from going too far when told that he had missed something. "Do you think I want to be here? It's the only place they will allow me to be. Those that care for me are outweighed and matched by those that are disgusted with me. This is the only place they will allow me to live! Angels constantly thinking they are higher than everyone else; not wanting black blood in even the same dimension as them. It's pathetic..."
Elijah tightened his hold against Devin's arm, holding him against the bed. "And it's not so I won't be lonely. I'm here to keep prisoners from dying. What do you think happens when I fail? Cain is more than willing to come remind me of my failure..." The angel closed his eyes then, drawing in a breath to try and calm his heart from racing away within his chest. "I've only been allowed into Hell a handful of times, but even then all they were seeing or heard was a messenger from Heaven. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Cain made me appear more angelic to them just to laugh in my face. He gets off doing crap like that....He gets off on a lot more than that too," he added, hand sliding down Devin's arm at the last bit spoken, chest rising and falling as he tried to catch his breath.
"And I'm still here for a reason..Even when that purpose is met and fulfilled, hell will only see the half breed that I am, too pure like they always do. There isn't a place other than Earth for me to be for now. I can pass through those black gates whenever I want to, but I can't yet. Not until...I kill him..." The last words were spoken softer, face flush as the fever began to spike again, those pale eyes barely open when they lifted up to try and focus on Devin. "I don't mean to keep hurting you..I'm sorry," he whispered, eyes closing as he fell forward against the demon as darkness ate away at his consciousness.

"No...but you don't make an effort to escape either, you sit here in a little cage and just let then do what they want you could leave if you wanted to but you don't...maybe your just as scared as leaving as you are staying" He said softly with a shake of his head "It isn't your fault if you fail to keep them alive, it;s there's, they hold the knife that causes the wounds, they break the prisoners until they can't be fixed...its not fault of yours"
Devin raised an eyebrow at the comment about killing someone but he was silent at the others apology "...idiot" He huffed tucking him in.

Elijah didn't wake when covered up, gently turning onto his side as his feverish body curled up in a tight ball. The button down shirt that he had managed to fasten in place slid to one side, the loose fabric gaping enough to have the angry scar peak out and be visible to the dark room the two were confined in.
'Try not to be so hard on him. He's just frightened to fail again.' The foreign voice filled Devin's mind moments before the black furred beast stepped into the doorway to the bedroom and padded over towards the two. Those dark crimson eyes watched the other demon as his ears slid back along his head, whining slightly. 'He's still too weak to kill that angel. It's the only thing keeping him here for so long now.' The canine jumped up onto the bed gently to sit at his master's feet as something much more knowledgeable than a mere dog's thought ran through those dangerous eyes that were so fixed upon Devin now.

The voice in his head didn't really surprise him; he had always suspected there was another presence in the house, especially when Elijah began talking to someone upstairs but now the other was in close proximity he could sense the other for what he was; a demon and a shifter one at that; not many demons had the ability to shift into animal forms. "Huh...thought I sensed another hell spawn around here" He muttered before he shook his head
"He'll never be strong enough, the angel hierarchy doesn't work that way, a lesser angel cannot defeat their superior in rank, and most angels cannot DEFY their superior, the only thing making him an exception to that rule is the demon blood, which by the way the white eyes are a sign he;s meant to be a leader or some s**t...good for him" Devin said softly.

Slowly, the canine laid down at his master's feet, front legs moving over Elijah's where they lay under the sheets, only stilling once comfortable. When Devin spoke again, an odd sound of sorts came from the beast, that dark body vibrating as he tried to laugh in the form he was currently in. 'That creature of an angel they call Cain is no superior to Eli. He may be his elder, but he is no superior.'
Those dark crimson eyes slowly rolled upwards to watch the demon so near, lips curling back over very white, very sharp teeth as the fur near the back of his neck stood up. A low growling sound emitted from the creature, vibrating along Elijah's body where he continued to lay. 'When they come for you and you are ready to kill....do not touch that angel. The others are of no concern, but Elijah would be....rather upset should you take away his fun.'
