Van laughed as he slid back down the tree
the bark falling off the tree easily. Van knew he couldn't get up there unless he dug his claws straight into the wood. At that point he was almost about to give up as he tried a second time.
Again just skinning the tree bare around the truck
if this thing has a sense of humor I don't get it he said before moving to the nearest and then trying again to get up at least a foot off of the ground. But halfway through his failed attempts he heard something click and footsteps. Quickly looking baxk to the source of the sound he saw the Dog catcher going straight for him. And if that wasn't enough motivation to get going Van wasn't sure what was. He inches up the trunk like a little caterpillar to the first branch which would of normally been out of the man's reach except for the fact he carred the pole noose. The catcher was a bit surprised at first to see the creature climbing trees but the possibility of it being an exotic animal only gave the catcher a reason to actually try and bring in Van but Vancouver wasn't counting on being put in the dog house
he only struggled to pull himself up on a branch above him he didn't want to blow his cover by talking but only hoped Koh was aware of their company.

(I'm not a religous peep but i'll have to pray for you lol)

The dog catcher tried not to focus on the fact he could of heard a cat talk but ut did through him off long enough for Van to pull himself up to a higher branch
but slowly fleeing still lead to poor judgement and he had unknowingly picked a termite infested branch. It took only a small movement for it to break and Van couldn't help but swear on the way down. And this really surprised the catcher and only gave him more of a reason to catch the two
Van quickly scrambled to his feet to run off. The catcher grunted looking between the cat and the dog thing then decided to go after the short limbed creature since he figured it'd either tire or he'd catch up. "i'll be back for you sweety" he commented as he departed
At these times Van got so much in the moment he'd forget what he could do which explained why he ran for dear life leading the catcher comically in circles,under tables and through the almost empty parking lot.
So if this wasn't an incidental distraction Van didn't know what was.

Van was getting tired but it was something that the noose pole just dangling a couple feet from him managed to stay just out of reach however in an attempt to changw direction after spotting Koh back to normal the catcher managed to get the thing around his neck.
It really didn't stop Van from dragging him along
ignoring the man's commands to stop till they got into close enough distance of Kohaku.Afterwards assuming that if Koh could get the catcher to loosen his grip he'd just give her a speech on keeping a collar on dogs and leashes on said collars. He just tries to bit at the wire that held him around the neck
the act was pointless since he coulsn't reach but if he could get free that would be nice too. "Is this supposed to be your dog?
a someone mentioned an entire family reunion had to move because there was a report of two wild animals mauling rabbits
if this is your dog you might get a fine for not obeying the lesh laws and just letting this odd looking mutt run amock." the catcher explained
He wasn't intent on letting this creature go.

The man eased up but still kept Van close to him. "I've seen alot of dogs before if you can believe it
However there is no instances of one with stripes...I'm not too entirely sure if this is a dog know that I think of it and owning a wild animal without a permit is grounds for more than just this speech. But it is..reg-regulations to bring the dog..whatever this is in and if you can supply the collar, permit, and proof of ownership we might let this slide." he stated at this point just making excuses as he pulled Van back to the truck.
Not as many people if any were out now that the park was supposed to me closing since there was a bit of a safety concern from this call. The catcher dropped the pole after he felt a shock and Van ran back near Koh to shake it off then started to run again hoping Koh would get the message that reasoning with that man was out of the question.

The catcher appropriately named Hunter....Durr was just a man on a mission to get to the bottom of the talking animal issue and also find out what Van was supposed to be. Curiousity was strong with this one as he chased after the two occasionally stop and added a "slow down d@mit" under his breath. He wasn't in his best shape and neither was Van who wondered where he left his clothes on the radiator
even with being chased and his life threatened (from a heart attack due this much running) his mind still wandered at least until the sun hid behind a few dark clouds before officially setting. After that Van stopped in his tracks so abruptly the man ran past them for a second and stopped to catch his breath.

head back home I'll finish this Van instructed in a rather different tone
his stood there defensively his eyes not breaking away from the man. It was almost as if he clocked into his night time job.

Long story short the catcher and Vsn became really close friends but not in the good way. The boys continued their usual business till early in the morning then they returned to their home which was in the shabby apartments. Van had apparently returned in a state that was the equivalent to being drunk. Sometime before the boy's called a quits Van mistakenly wandered into Koh's apartment and fell asleep in his "default" or true form

He had a habit of keeping souvenirs from the hunt one of them being the catcher's head. He had kept a hold of it in one of his hands as he laid sprawled out in the middle of Koh's den like area.
By sunrise Van was still sleep but Syn his tail was up and pretty much long enough to venture into any part of the apartment but she knew that this wasn't their place even while partially blinded by sunlight. She couldn't wake up Van so she was stuck here unti the mutt woke up.

Assuming that he was someplace like his den he figured the comment was from one of the spirits and rolled to his opposite side. He grunted still partially asleep and tossed the head in her direction.
Synx looked between them without saying a word physically at least. Sorry she apologised through her thoughts
not wanting to stirr Van up again. He had a habit of throwing things and the next thing might of been a couch or the tv set.
