Never Again...
"I suppose I should say the same," Herald replied, realizing he had never slept with anyone either. He tried to remember if anyone had mentioned that he snored, though no one would have cared back at the Arenas. And most wouldn't have dared to bring it up with him. He felt their breathing start to synchronize slightly. It was a weird feeling but he thought he could get used to it. He mentally reminded himself of where he would probably need to look to make sure he had created everything. At first he had been planning to create a second bedroom which he had forgotten, but now he thought one would be fine. Just then a thought hit him. What if he became too attached to Emma and then lost her? What would he do then? What could he do? He grit his teeth slightly as the thought rolled around in his mind. He couldn't find an answer.

Never Again...
Herald looked back down at Emma. "Nothing," he replied, pulling her slightly closer to where she was pressed up against him. "Just thinking."

Never Again...
Herald watched her for a few moments before looking back up at the draping above the bed and closing his own eyes. He tried to focus and get himself to sleep but the events of the day kept running through his head. Everything that had happened had changed so much. His thoughts whirled around relentlessly as he tried to focus on sleeping. After several minutes of trying he opened his eyes again, finally giving up for the moment. He stared silently at the ceiling above as he tried to figure out what to do.

Never Again...
Herald listened silently to Emma as she began to sleep. She wasn't snoring so that was good. He tried to focus on her breathing to lull him to sleep but still sleep eluded him. He shifted slightly as he kept thinking his own thoughts. Several plans were forming in his mind but nothing concrete yet. Not knowing what to do was what bothered him the most. Things were always straight-forward in the arena; you always knew what you were supposed to do. This was entirely different.

Never Again...
Herald looked over at Emma as he felt her shift slightly. Before he knew it he was asleep. But his dreams were bad. They often were. He began to shake back and forth in the bed as sweat broke out on his chest and forehead. He grit his teeth in his sleep, clenching his fists. He was back in the arena for the millionth billionth time in his dreams. There was a reason he had always preferred Eric to be the one in control when they slept. He never dreamed; only had nightmares. He had completely forgotten about this while he was with Emma. If he were awake he probably wouldn't have told her even if he had remembered it; he would have created a second room and kept to himself. But he had not and now the nightmares were back.

Never Again...
Herald began to relax slightly as he subconsciously felt Emma stroking his hair in his dreams. He wasn't thrashing nearly as much but he was still having nightmares as his sweat or clenched hands didn't abate. He muttered something about the Quartermaster in between heavy breaths as his nightmare continued.

As Emma placed her hand on Herald's it slowly opened up, untensing as it felt hers. His movements began to lessen as if in response to Emma's touch and voice. Suddenly his other arm lashed out, grabbing Emma around the neck and beginning to tighten; he was fighting something in his sleep and had somehow began acting it out in real life.
