He wasn't even sure if playing this thing would do anything at all to help him or if he was just wasting his time for no reason. There weren't a great number of other options though.
He played three blind mice. He wasn't sure how he knew what the song was called. He wasn't even sure what a mouse was or why it would be blind, but the childish melody relaxed him a little.
He hummed a strangled and manic little tune as he bit back the desires to shatter everything.
His anger must have drawn something in though, and a huge creature leapt out from nowhere without even the slightest warning.
And it was all he knew.

After wandering for a spell, Remye came up to a derelict building. Underneath the layers of filth, she could make out a vague beauty in the structure, but it was hard to keep that at the forefront of her mind. With previous battles under her belt, she was wary; what would wait for her here? It seemed like a likely beacon for bosses. Still, she would be remiss if she didn't at least explore a little.
The floor was poor at best, but she ventured forward carefully, grimacing at every crunch and crackle as she stepped through into the Main Hallway. The darkness was unsettling to Remye, so she stood for a long moment, peering into the hallway.
Something was staring back at her.
Shuddering, she ventured forward, trying to get across quickly and safely. The first few steps were without incident, but the next -- she couldn't move quickly enough to dodge the beam that swung down, and went down hard as it cracked her in the back of the skull, groaning weakly. Swallowing, she pushed herself up warily, trying again to venture forward.

Trying to keep low proved even stupider than trying to just bolt across, as shards of glass crashed down on the crouching girl, cutting her but still leaving her mobile. Just a little... further... She straightened up some, and tried to move quicker to avoid the debris.
The eyes in the shadows. Obviously they had something to do with this.

Remye got on without incident from that point, moving quick and dodging around some debris to get through the Main Hallway. In her haste, she leapt into the first room she could see and closed the door behind her.
This was setting up like a terrible horror movie. She didn't even look to make sure Jack Nicholson wasn't waiting for her.

Remye turned to look at her surroundings, and unfortunately didn't have time to avoid the strike from the boss. It did mediocre damage, but still! It stung a bit! Scowling, she swiped at the boss, but missed entirely. She'd have to clear it to get into the next area.
So close and yet so far.

The next attack struck the creature at least, giving Remye distance enough to get further into the room and try to space herself from the boss. It still managed a solid whack at her, though, leaving Remye growling and irritable.

It was cheating. That was the only explanation. Cheater creature! Remye got a kick in but it only glazed the side of the boss, and left her open to some minor damage as well. She scurried back with a growl, trying to get around the debris and failing miserably.
But it was moving slower. A few more goes, and she might get to move on before she succumbed to her injuries.

The next attack was one out of frustration, desperation, and just sheer anger. She aimed a solid kick at a particularly brutal piece of debris, using it as something of a weapon and landing a solid strike on the creature. That done, she wasted no time in bolting past the bedroom and into the next area. This time, she looked ahead for creatures, though. Seriously.
That was nuts.
