He wanted to know. Really, for it to make sense. Even if he was scared, afraid of it. Scared of the reality it might mean? He wasn't sure, but if everyone was seeking the same thing, it had to be worth it.It has to be what they needed for now.

That in mean Ako slowly moved again, looking for a fragment no one was after before spotting one. And then with a few quick steps he reached out to grasp it once more. He was, rather surprisingly, quite lucky in all of this. It was a bit odd to think about really. Oh well, all that fell aside as something new greeted him, only a single word. But again, it left a longing he couldn't understand with it. No explanation... just that... he wanted to know.

"Tavast, is this rea-" It cut off all too soon as he tried to understand it. But two names now? Jessie and Tavast? Did that mean something? Was one of them him? No. No, definitely not. He was Kiasako, so who were they?

And again she felt the taste of failure. Skaaal sighed loudly, but said nothing else. The only thing she could do really, other than mope, was to move on and try again.

Failure. Success. Failure. Success. It was a frustrating pattern that was beginning to aggravate Skaaal, but she tried not to let it show on her face. But could the others actually see it on her face to begin with? Everyone she saw were just large masses of shadows. Sometimes their silhouettes would possess defining traits, but her own shadow wasn’t particularly unique. It would be difficult for others to pick her out from the crowd. She bent her knees slightly before hopping and reaching for another fragment. Skaaal closed her eyes briefly as she took in another snippet of a memory, or whatever it was. There wasn’t a voice this time. Not really. Just the sound of the wind and pencil against paper, but it sounded calming. As the memory faded, she continued to search for a fragment to grab.

And then it floated a bit lower as his feet hit the ground once more. His eyes widened as he quickly turned to reach for it, fingers dancing along the surface a moment before curling to tuck it into his palm.

One final memory. One final set of words to wrap it all up. That was what he hoped for, instead only regret came with the lone word. A sad voice, so familiar to his own seeming to echo the word. No, the name. "Cora." He... no it. That voice had known it, had not wanted to lose the one it belonged to. But the tone in which he heard it... they had, right?

...why were so many of these sad? Why so much regret with them?

Was the life this person had had really so bad? Or was it many people he had seen or heard of? Really, the fragments gave no answers, it would just be best to do what others seemed to be doing with them. Taking them to a building. Right, he should take them there. It was only right, right..?

Aeru returned from the shrine, his greyed form a bit fuller now, a bit less featureless and solid. His red, glowing chest remained. Yet he appeared deep within thought as he walked down the winding paths of the Spire, ignoring and passing by the other grey-things that were attempting to gather their fragments for the Goddesses as well.

This new feeling disturbed him, but it was because it felt foreign and did not belong. However, if it was a blessing from the Goddesses, should he really question it? Perhaps it held a purpose that he was not seeing just yet...

Vettey was debating if she should go after another fragment when one particularly bright one caught her eye. Floating innocuously in the air, its path of motion appeared random as far as she could discern for herself, almost as if it was tempting her to go after it. Should she or should she not?

She lifted a finger to scratch lightly on her cheek then bolted after it, lunging into the air to catch it and then landing directly in another's path of travel with her prize in hand.

"Yvette..."

But of course another fragment would slip out of her grasp once again. She felt tempted to shake her fist at the fleeing orb, but Skaaal figured it didn’t have a consciousness. Showing her frustration wouldn’t evoke a reaction out of it. She grumbled before moving on.
