The time for avoiding confusion had long past. Ime was soon lost in a torrent of making boys do what you want and 'attracting' them, and her expression showed it. The girl stared, wide-eyed, lips parted as Kelina tried to dig herself out of the proverbial hole. Boy, she wished she understood what that lady was saying! She might have pretended she did just to make sure she didn't seem like a baby, but she hadn't thought quick enough. Then she heard a phrase she recognized. She was beautiful! Everyone was beautiful, as a matter of fact! Her Momma had told her that, and her Momma was never wrong.

"You're beautiful too!" the little hybrid finally chirped, clapping her hands together, having forgotten that she had food in one. oh, right. She took another nibble and nodded. "It's okay when people are hurt, but not too hurt. Being hurt sometimes mean you were protecting yourself, and that's a good thing."

Suddenly both chatty and hungry, Ime took another good mouthful of bun and tried to swallow it with some difficulty.

"So what are you, huh? I mean, where are you from... or... what re-cis are your parents? I'm Wind and Ice, yenno. That's my Momma." She pointed to her mother, who was currently browsing a stall. "See, my Dad was Ice and he came from up in the mountains, but my Momma is Wind and loves down in the play-- pln-- plaaanes so I came out different, but that's okay. Different is okay too, because every person is special." She nodded again, chewing and peering off at the fairground.

Oh, right.

"And beautiful too."

[Hijil: Spectator Stands, near Shirin and Winta]
Hijil, in her slight fury, was actually slightly chatty. "My friend's opponent..." she replied, turning along with Shirin to the crowd.
The bookie... the man collecting bets? Well, that would be the obvious person to ask. Hijil felt a little silly for not thinking about it.
The fight below turned into an all-out brawl and she bit her lip, turning away almost ponderously.
"Where was he?" she asked, almost pleasantly, as if she had gotten turned around.

Aminah and Sathe || Standing at Dyakida's stall (post 6)

Aminah smiled at Biroki's approach. Dyakida's stall was becoming pretty popular. It seemed that she had been making plenty of friends in Aminah's absence. "Hey Biroki!" She put down the staff she was examining and waved before reaching her arms out for her little sister again. With all the people here, the last thing Aminah wanted was for Sathe to get lost in the crowd. Better for her to be in Aminah's arms.

She took a back seat to the conversation, listening to the others chatter about battling and nodding at the list of those fighting today. It made sense that so many of the ones that Aminah knew would be battling, especially since she had sparred against them before. She looked up at the sun, checking the time. The battles would start soon, and she needed to get something for Sathe still. She turned to the others, announcing her plans. "I still need to go visit the stalls with Sathe so she can pick out something she'd like, so I'm going to be heading off, but I'm looking forward to facing everyone in the arena." She smiled broadly and looked down at Sathe, knowing she would enjoy the news. "Sathe will be back to kelp after we're done." She said to Dyakida.

Aminah was busy looking at staffs and things that Sathe couldn't possibly understand and the stall was filling up with more and more people. Her Big Sister knew so many people, and all different kinds of people! Sathe smiled with pride; her Sister was so great! Aminah leaned over to pick Sathe up again and announced their goodbyes. Sathe bounced again in Aminah's arms and squealed with delight. She would get to pick something out! Yes!

"I'll be back soon Dyakida. Real soon!" She put her arms around Aminah's neck in a hug. "I'll be back with something special with me next time!"

Tau || At the food stalls with Vollerei (post 6)

Tau munched on the rest of the bun before turning to the vendor with more coins in his hand for another. "These are great!" He announced to Vollerei before chowing down on this one, savoring the flavor in his mouth.

Tau's eyes widened slightly at Vollerei's comments. Weird? He looked down at his skin, assessing his body. It wasn't weird really... Alkidike were weird. They were downright odd. But he guessed that to someone who lived with Alkidike and were raised with Alkidike, everyone else would look weird. Her loss. Though he would have to agree that without his paint he looked rather plain. He poked at his skin some more. Uncooked dough? Meh, he could see that. "If I'm uncooked dough, then you're a vegetable." He laughed as if what he said was incredibly funny.

Tau nodded his head while trying to regain his composure. "I would say stealing in general is wrong, but stealing food is worse." He agreed with her. It might not be the worst crime, but stealing food could lead to widespread hunger, not something he would want anyone to go through.

Niabi || At Liira's stall (post 6)

Niabi winced at the mention of beating anyone's face in. But she had gotten an answer to her question, right? She shouldn't ask if she didn't want the truth.

She meekly nodded her head towards Liira. "It w-would be good to stretch your legs..." she trailed off. She didn't exactly know what more to say. This girl was violent, though she didn't seem to really be as violent as that ice earthling had been. There was too much yelling when he was at the stall for Niabi's liking. "I hope you do well." She concluded, hoping that Liira or Zuri would continue the conversation, but then she remembered. "Oh! I'm so d-dumb." She lowered her head, looking at Liira's table in embarrassment. "I never... asked for your name." The last part was almost a whisper it was so quiet and unsure.

Liira || At her stall (post 6)

Liira scoffed at the mention of doing well. "I'll hold my own, don't worry about that." She eyed the Alkidike up and down before finally opening her mouth again. "You on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. I just hope I don't have to face you later. I wouldn't want to break whatever spirit you have in you." She crossed her arms and twisted her lips, trying to think of a way to make what she said not quite so mean. "I mean, you need to learn to toughen up if you're going to win anything here."

The Alkidike mentioned names and Liira blew a harsh puff of air out of her lungs. This girl also lacked people skills. No doubt she didn't have many friends. "I'm Liira." She sighed, shaking her head slightly. She had already found out from the chatter earlier what their names were, so she wasn't too worried about formalities.

Winta Post two

Winta hadn't been paying too much attention to the people who were around her until Shirin and Hijil had started to talk about ways of finding out who was competing. A bookie? So she just had to look for someone who looked like they were up to no good? Somehow she felt herself being plunged into more trouble taking that route. First she'd try to ask these girls for some assistance. Winta turned herself towards them though she focused more on Shirin since she was the one who seemed to know more about this bookie than she did. "Do you know what the bookie looks like? Or where he could be found?" Winta asked her. "I'd be interested in finding out who's in the spars today." Winta added, giving her a smile.

[ Shirin @ the spectator stands, near Hijil and Winta (post 4) ]

Nodding acknowledgement of Hijil's reply, Shirin continued looking over the crowd. Oh, look, isn't that the-- But the commotion down in the arena distracted her. Blue eyes widened, appalled. Was that really how these tournament matches were supposed to go? She was glad to be out of it, then. She had really gotten lucky with her opponent, who had been so nice about the whole thing.

By the time she thought to go back to searching, the maybe-bookie had disappeared back into the crowd. Oops.

As the Leaf girl asked a question, Shirin gave her a friendly smile. "He or she will be taking in lots money without giving much more than a receipt in return," she suggested, her smile crooking into a grin. No doubt the bookie and his colleagues would resent the description, but it was accurate enough, and it wasn't like he was around to hear. (Or was he?) "Are you looking up a friend's match too?"

Jerarda Post 7

The quieter boy seemed unaffected by her words, unlike his brother who then declared to protect his brother from the bug people as well take her advice to heart. Still...even as she straightened her gaze scanning the surrounding area she had to note that...there were a lot of people here. Though it was battle, she supposed that the tournament was a good way to have the various tribes get to know each other better, she wished she knew who came up with the plan to do this because it was genius.

"You boys aren't here all by yourselves are you?" Was Jerarda's next question. After all the two boys were young and it seemed odd that they would be left all alone.

ChandraPost 5

The young boy looked to his brother questioningly, surely he didn't believe all this crazy talk of bug people. They just didn't exist. Surely they couldn't....a race of people that ate kids? Surely if such a thing existed mommy and daddy would of told them already to be extra careful.

Sighing he wasn't sure how to react when his brother declared that he would protect him. He thought this was all crazy talk, and he felt a bit embarrassed for his brother believing the words this giant lady was telling them.

At the question of why they were alone he pointed a small hand to the area. "Momma and daddy are fighting...so are Uncle Jac and Uncle Tak.. but Uncle Tak lost...so I think he will be here soon." Wiether it was wise to tell a complete stranger your adult supervision was...not around was yet to be determined.

Aminah and Sathe || Wandering the Fairgrounds (post 7)

Aminah laughed at Sathe's excitement and turned with a wave away from the group she was standing with. No doubt the battles would start soon and she needed to get something for Sathe before they did. "So Sathe, what do you say we check out over here?" She pointed to the stall that had the fish in containers. Dyakida had tipped Sathe off, but Aminah knew that she would still be excited for this.

((I'm pulling Aminah out of the RP so that I can focus on the other characters.))

Sathe waved with Aminah at her newest friends and couldn't help but feel proud once again that her sister knew so many people and now Sathe was getting to know all these people too. And they all seemed so nice!

Sathe bounced even harder, making it tough for Aminah to hold her up when Aminah pointed out the stall that they were to visit. "Oh! Yes yes yes please!" Sathe could see the fish and they were soooo pretty. She held onto Aminah tighter, like Aminah might let her go and couldn't stand the wait to get to the stall.

"Ooooohhh these are so pretty Big Sister!" She leaned in over them all and looked back and forth. "Are you going to get one too?" She asked. Aminah had nodded to Sathe and Sathe squealed in delight. This was turning into the best day of her life! "Can I have the purple one, please?" She was so happy!

[Biroki: Dyakida's Stall]
"Okay! See you out there, maybe?" Biroki said to Aminah, waving as the two left.
Kids. They were cute. He leaned in, inspecting the staffs.
"A-aren't kids's cute, Dyakida?" he said, a stupidly happy look on his face, "You ever think... Nevermind." he said, reddening, "Uhhh... a-anyway... I could t-test one of these out for you, if you would like. I could do it right now, even?"

[Hijil:Stands]
Hijil listened carefully to Shirin,
"Maybe somewhere with a good view...?" she said, nodding slowly and thoughtfully, "Perhaps we should all look for him." Three sets of eyes were better than one, and she did want the company. It was so... nice... talking to people. But that was why she needed to keep it rare. She couldn't have nice things, now could she...

[Kaalnia:Wandering aimlessly]
Kaalnia watched the dancers a bit before shakily making her way over to the fairegrounds.
huh. There was a stall with little... were those fish? in balls? She stared at the variety of fish for a moment. She felt drained and tired and apathetic and shaken.
"How much are they...?" They were affordable enough.
She looked almost blankly at her fellow customer- a little girl with her... sister? Mother? It was hard to tell. She looked so happy. Maybe one of these fishes would cheer her up- Kaalnia really wanted to stop feeling this scared and dulled.
"If... you're getting purple... Hey... Kid... Should I get purple too? Or a different color...?"

[Ruelash: Refueling- At Dyakida's stall]
Ruelash had felt psyched from his battle with Bhima. Absolutely psyched. And then that whatever-he-was had ruined his good mood. Ugh.
He was hungry, so he grabbed some refreshments at the fairegrounds. Some meat would do him good, and it did. Meat was good stuff, mmm mm. Tearing into a piece of meat on a stick did wondners for his mood, as did the sweet fruit drink in a hardfruit cup. Good stuff. He was feeling better.
And then, he saw it. A stall FULL of weapons. With another one of those bug ladies. He had some time to kill before his fight, so he went over to check it out.
He walked up to Dyakida's stall and looked around.
"Whoa..." he exclaimed. These were some nice things...

[Dyakida: At her stall]
Dyakida's antenna twitched and she looked towards Aminah.
"Ah, allright. Thank you." she looked down towards Sathe's voice, "I am looking forward to it."

She took the staff back and put it with the others, listening to Biroki. Oh great. He was stammering. Again. It was like a woodpecker to the ears.
And what a bizzare question.
"I suppose they are...?" she said, almost queryingly. What on tendajii was he talking about. "Think what?" she asked, organizing some of the weapons in her stand. She had made a few sales in the meantime, and she had to put some of the newer stock just so... "What?"
But, being the inexplicably nervous wreck that he was, he changed the damn subject. Ugh. Talking to him was such a chore...
"Hmm." she didn't have to worry about Biroki stealing, the man didn't have the guts and she pretty much knew where he lived. "Allright. You can try it out, if you want. You would know if it worked..." she handed him one of the staffs.

Her antennae told her that someone had moved to her stall, and the exclamation made her smile. A new customer, always good.
She turned towards them, "All handmade by myself, and very good quality." She placed a hand on the counter carefully so that she could feel if one of her weapons was moved, "Are you interested in anything in particular?"

Lasarra
She laughed. "Well I think it helps that we got her so young. So far the other animals I have were older then her when we first got her." she said with a nod.

When he said he would drop by with another animal she smiled and clapped her hands together. "You don't have to, but that would be amazing! The more the merrier, and we always have room." she said thinking about her and her sisters house. There was a lot of room around it, and she had made it like a pen for the animals. She was still working on the whole thing, but it was coming together pretty nicely.

The coast? He was leaving? "Oh? Your leaving for a couple months then? You have to come by then before that, in a few months a lot could have changed so we have to see each other before then." she nodded. That was what would happen. She would cook them something to eat.

She looked around, "Well I have to go to my battle now. If I can I'll watch yours and be cheering you on! Remember, don't go soft on anyone!" she said before hugging him and running off.

Niadra

She smiled, Senja was such a good friend. And to think, they hadn't even known each other that long. "Yes come on." as the two of them walked Niadra pointed out things that looked funny and even asked about a few things she was sure the shifter would know about that she didn't. However it was all to soon that they were at the gates where only she would enter. "I'll look for you in the stands! See you when I get out!" she said excitedly with nervous energy before hugging her friend and dancing towards where she was told to go.
