Soo i'm going to just assume people don't want to interact in class. Will interaction happen during core subjects only then? Or do those of us who don't share classes with multiple characters effectively end up sitting on our hands till the bell rings and we can move our characters to a more populated class?

Will interaction happen at all I wonder... if not, what's the point of even having bells ringing and classes starting if all it means is "goes to class" and all the characters leave the stage and disappear into the ether till the gm says "bell rings" again? Sounds tedious to me.

So are we fast forwarding or what? Some confirmation on what's happening would be really nice at this point because until we know what's up, how are we supposed to post anything? If interaction during electives isn't happening because our character doesn't share a class with any PCs, what do we do till second period starts if others want to rp their electives?

I'm so confused.

but the whole point of rp is well.. interaction and cooperative story telling. What point is there to typing out something if you have nobody to bounce off of? May as well just write fanfiction. Writing about a class situation that features only npcs and your character isn't role play, it's fanfic.

Are you seriously suggesting we spam up the place writing random stuff that serves no plot purpose and is featuring only our character? Sounds like a pretty good way to clutter up a board with irrelevant posts.

Hopefully things will pick up but we kinda need some gm direction to shunt the players back onto the stage. Right now they've all wandered off to different places thus aren't interacting, which is usually the point the gm calls time on a thread. I picture it like a play, and all the actors have dropped their stuff and walked offstage, leaving the audience (or in this case, the players) going "uh.. what happens now?" and shifting awkwardly in their seats as they wait for the actors to reappear or someone to tell them it's intermission.

In the name of keeping the narrative going, can we please fast forward to next period and gm state specifically that it's *pick a random core subject* and everyone is in that class for narrative sake?
I mean look at the MH cartoons, the main cast are all in the same classes for things despite it "being a big school". Why? Narrative. Narrative trumps realism guys, it keeps things going and it keeps things interesting for the players.

My fear as to what's now going to happen is that some characters will start to interact in their first period class while others won't be able to because they haven't got anyone to interact WITH and thus, are effectively out of the rp for the time being. This is very unfair on those players considering we had to roll a dice effectively to decide what our first class would be given we had no direction there. So sucks to be you if you picked a subject nobody else did huh?

So right now the fairest and most reasonable option is for gm intervention to happen and the story to fast forward to the next reasonable point characters could interact. Either second period, or recess.

Am I honestly the only person who feels we've stagnated here? I know several people don't get online as often as I do, but it's nice to know that when they DO get on, there would be something to do.
