Shinju ended up talking with Umiko and Mari a majority of the night. Both too weary and drowsy to return to her single dorm, she slept over in theirs; taking Umiko's bed while the other snuggled up with her significant other. Despite her frustrations, Shinju slept soundly. Only in slumber did the Etoile find peace from school politics, squabbles, and currently, love problems. Her desire to remain sleeping was evident when it took Umiko an arduous effort to awaken her sister and get her to the morning prayers.
After giving the sermon, Shinju sat completely silent with her hand holding up her head. Her eyes flicked unconsciously between the open spot where Kotomi was expected to sit and a search for wherever Aiza was -- if she even came to breakfast at all. Eventually, when the brunette finished her food, she took her leave without words and strolled idly out of the cafeteria (with much contempt from Spica's president). She didn't even wait for Umi as she normally did. Her twin would have to eat by herself today.

After Aiza woke up she spent about thirty minutes laying in bed thinking about what she should be doing rather than doing it. Finally, albeit hesitantly she pulled herself out of bed and began to tidy up her room. She wasn't very messy but it had been a while since she just did a complete cleaning. Aiza made her bed, swept the floors, and dusted every surface. he cleaned until her room practically sparkled.
The girl finally decided she wouldn't be a sloth the entire day but didn't want to communicate with anyone. After taking a small break she changed clothes and did her hair to prepare for her meeting with the world outside her little dorm room. Sighing she grabbed her little change purse in case she needed money for a vending machine. She left her room and began walking, to where she didn't really know but she knew she wanted it to be quiet and secluded. It's such a nice day out maybe I should go outside she thought and began to exit the dorm building but before she does she buys a can of juice from a machine and continues walking.
Aiza grew hungrier and her stomach grumbled in protest to being so empty. The small girl found a nice tree to sit in the shade of by itself without anyone else in the near vicinity and took a seat at the base of it contently. She opened the can of juice and took a long drink hoping it will satisfy her empty stomach for a while. As the liquid settled in her stomach, Aiza was relaxed and comfortable just watching the world.

The strawberry brunette continued her trek down the stone laden path. The trees above, burnishing colors of orange and red from the oncoming tickle of Autumn, rustled quietly as the wind threaded through their branches. Shinju was at peace within herself as she walked along, again lost in thoughts unasked for. She seemed to not be the only body considering the world. Shinju noticed the familiar face sitting beneath the tree and, denying the sudden churn in her stomach, approached her from behind. Quietly, she leaned against the oak's patchy trunk, and breathed out an low sigh.
"I wandered lonely as a cloud, that floats on high o'er vales and hills. When all at once I saw a crowd, a host, of golden daffodils; beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze." Shinju bit her bottom lip. "Dearest daffodil, I apologize about yesterday. I know these words are worth nothing, but I do want to say I am sorry. I was shocked yesterday . . . "

Aiza had heard her approach but didn't turn around. As she heard the poem she had heard and even memorized she turned to answer. "Continuous as the stars that shine and twinkle on the milky way. They stretched in never-ending line along the margin of a bay. Ten thousand saw I at a glance, tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they out-did the sparkling waves in glee. A poet could not but be gay in such a jocund company. I gazed and gazed, but little thought what wealth the show to me had brought. For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood they flash upon that inward eye which is the bliss of solitude." she recited back quietly but couldn't say the last two lines. She didn't really want too. That poem was normally a very happy one but Aiza just wasn't quite that happy. Turning toward her Aiza offered a small smile, "It's ok, I understand. You have enough on your shoulders and mind. I don't blame you for anything..." after looking down at her can briefly she asked softly, "Would you like to join me? Its ok if you can't..."

Shinju chuckled to the lines returned. "Yes, I would like to join you." She replied, but did not budge from her position opposite Aiza by the oak. "Unfortunately, this is the limit I can breach. To prevent rumors." She let out a sigh and continued. "While I did come here . . . to make amends, the truth to my being is actually more. Three weeks from now, the ballet for La Sylphide will be held. During the play, I will kiss Kotomi again. Not as the sylph, mind you, but as Shinju Mizushima. I intend to return Kotomi's feelings . . . Unless, Mudo-san, you can prove for me that the feelings in that poem was real. Three weeks, I want to know the girl behind those words and understand that what I felt reading that composition can be felt when I just look into your eyes. I want to fall in love, but not by words alone."

After taking in everything the girl said Aiza felt rejuvenated, alive again. She had another chance, three whole weeks. Aiza was beaming and stood, "I understand. Do you have any time today maybe? I would like to hang out so we can talk if you'd like?" Aiza gazed at Shinju and smiled brightly at her, the happiness showing on her face.

Shinju's face went curiously blank. "Yes, I do have some time," she replied. "I don't mind spending time; what would you like to do?"

"Well, there's this café in town that has some of the best sundaes. Want to get one? It's been one of my favorite places since I was young and it's family owned so I know them very well." Aiza just smiled kindly. This was great! She'll get to share one of her favorite places with one of her favorite people.

The Etoile never admitted her dislike for cold things. Mari's drowsily voiced advice resounded in her ear when she thought of declining.
" . . . You have to take chances . . . M-Make risks . . . Only then . . . Can you really love . . . " She said with Umiko standing on the sidelines with a thumb hooked in Mari's direction as she nodded her head. Shinju couldn't deny her twin looked like a car seller convincing a customer that the sticker price was worth it on an expensive automobile.
Swallowing her own pride for once, Shinju conjured her best smile and dipped her head at Aiza. "Sure, I'd love to go," she said. "Is it far?"
Admittedly, it'd been a while since she left Astraea Hill. A while equaling two years. She was a bit nervous descending from the incline she dubbed her safe haven after such a passage of time.

"It's actually quite close. We could get there and back quite easily." Aiza really was glad she had brought her money with her now. It meant she wouldn't have to go back to her room. "We could always go somewhere else if you don't like sundaes. There's plenty of stuff around."
((ummm I don't know how travelling works. Are we gonna walk there? I looked at a map and it seemed as if we would need a car...))

Shinju shook her head. "No, no, I'd love to have a sundae. Though, there is something I've always wanted to try." She heard girls around Spica squeal in delight over how fun "karaoke" was. The Etoile never really tried it, but heard it did incorporate singing. A little practice for her ballad while out having fun with Aiza never hurt, right? "Something called karaoke. It seems fun."
[[ It does look like a lengthy walk, aha. We'll probably have to take some creative liberties with transportation. Maybe there can be a tram at the bottom of the hill? ]]

"Oh, it is," Aiza said in excitement, "I think you'll like it. You can order yummy snacks and drinks there too!" Dusting off her uniform a little, Aiza turned in the general direction of the entrance, "Are you ready to go?"

Shinju spared Aiza a few nods of her head. "Yes, I'm ready. Let's go," she said a tad bit jubilantly. Though she was following slowly behind the girl because she was cautious of her departure, she upped the ante over her nervousness and reached a hand out. Her palm cupped over the underclassman's tenderly as her face wore a look of light embarrassment. "If it is okay," she muttered to her. "I-I'm not really sure where we're going."

Aiza blushed and slowed a bit until they were walking side by side, "It's perfectly fine with me." She accented her words by giving the other girl's hand a gentle squeeze. They walked down to the bottom of the great hill and Aiza thought it'd be a good idea to start a conversation after sensing the nervousness roll off the girl in waves. If she was being honest she was just as nervous. "What is your family like, if you don't mind my asking?" The girl took a seat on the bench and waited for the scheduled bus.

"Oh, well . . . " A single finger reached up and scratched the side of her cheek. "What do you want to know? You seem to know Umiko well. Do you mean Nagisa Mizushima, my older sister? My parents?"
